We booked a king room that cost about $250 night mid week. The photos looked inviting. The room itself was nice but the place had a strange, slightly outdated vibe. The staff had forced smiles but did not feel genuinely welcoming. Perhaps there is a management tension that spilled over. It's hard to explain. The included breakfast was a big disappointment. Powdered scrambled eggs and tasteless bacon along with muffins that looked nice but were hard to eat. Bagels were good. Tea selection was stale. On the surface it looks nice but the Ramada Inn in El Paso for $65 had a much tastier and healthier hot breakfast. The room reservation comes with a 30 min soa that needed to be booked in advance, based on availability. The private soaking tub w cool drinking water and robes was very nice but if you wanted to soak longer you had to pay. Again, staff was somewhat officious and did not go out of their way to smile or engage in a welcoming way unless we asked. For the price, I was not impressed and most likely won't return.

We stayed here on a weekend in early May & mentioned it was my birthday. The staff were so sweet & put a happy birthday note in the room. accommodations were clean & the soak outside was private & very relaxing! I recommend staying here if you are passing through Truth or Consequences.

Excellent experience. Enjoyed the outdoor hot springs. The room featured an indoor jacuzzi tub, but we didn't get to use it, as we were more interested in outdoor hot spring soak. The room was spacious and had access to large, shared balcony, where you could see stars. Breakfast as amazing as well. Highly recommended.

So relaxing! Upscale feeling in a vintage atmosphere! Continental breakfast was more than I expected! Stephen was amazing in his service every morning. The couples massage was just what the doctor ordered. Room was comfortable. Daily soak included and just was so worth it. Overall service was attentive and genuine.

We had a wonderful experience at Sierra Grande as a stopover during a road trip. Wish we could have stayed an extra night. The spa soaks were great and atmosphere was very quiet. The staff was pleasant and all the facilities and rooms spotlessly clean. We left feeling very relaxed.

My wife and I stayed here 2 nights after several days of strenuous hiking. We had 3 soaks in the hot spring and had a couples massage. We also did a 4 hour eco tour of Ladder, one of Ted Turner’s preserves about 30 minutes away, which is 156,000 acres. The eco tour was great - very informative and very interesting. The hot springs soaks were very nice and the massages were very relaxing and helpful for our sore muscles. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Staff was helpful and pleasant and gave us a great suggestion for a nearby lunch spot. Breakfast was a 6 out of 10 with a decent selection. Overall, this was a very pleasant stay for me and my wife and we would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
This resort is charming and rustic. I loved the hot mineral bath time that came with room reservation. We had one indoor soak and one outdoor soak during our one night stay. The breakfast was excellent with an egg taco set up with green chilis of course. Our room was impressive with a soaker tub that fit 2 and a very comfortable bed. No elevators but it's part of the charm. We did have a couple massage that was decent. Not the deep tissue we expected but the masseuses did a good job. I will be back!

Yelp
The restaurant currently only serves a continental breakfast from 7-10AM, 7 days a week. No weekend brunch. No tapas in the evening :(

Yelp
Such a nice facility! Just walking in the lobby, you're surrounded by the most lovely scents that you'll find not only in the soaps and creams in your room, but also on the bedding and towels. The lotions, shampoos, etc. are available for purchase in the lobby. The hotel is older but well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. I regret I didn't plan far enough ahead to schedule a massage but I did enjoy the 30 minute soak in the mineral Springs that comes complimentary with a room. Also complimentary is a lovely breakfast buffet that includes eggs, bacon, green chiles (of course), and cheese to make tacos, yogurt, steel cut oats, juices and of course coffee. And fresh fruit!

Yelp
My room was very clean and tastefully decorated. The exterior of the building and grounds are very pretty, partly due to the palm trees and giant saguaro cactus. I found the front-desk staff to be friendly and accommodating, even when I asked for coffee at an obscenely early hour. I especially enjoyed soaking in the outdoor pool while looking at the nighttime sky, and appreciated that the staff included chilled water and towels (which you won't find at other establishments in the area). During my multi-night stay, I only opted to have breakfast once, and was disappointed in the warm offerings: a tray of borderline cold, overcooked eggs and some extremely skimpy pieces of bacon. I feel I should also mention that I was deterred from booking a massage after my chance encounter with one of masseuses (long hair, wearing scrubs) as we passed in the lobby, who was supremely snobbish and acted like my presence was unwanted. Overall, though, I had a nice experience.

Yelp
Spa was wonderful! Very nice staff. Breakfast was exceptional out on patio. Accommodations were very comfortable!

Yelp
First class rip off! Luke warm spa with weak jets, small rooms, with appliances that either don't work or aren't even plugged in for some reason. No extra charge for the fleas in our room---But very high Ted Turner prices -- following the motto of "we charge more for less " ! This place is not worth half of what they charge and we will never return.

Yelp
The absolute most relaxing experience. Yes they are very COVID compliant, but not in a way that took away from the overall experience. Call ahead to book a reservation; even if its the same day they will try to accommodate you. We reserved a time on the same day and the had everything ready to go within an hour or so. We opted for a 30 minute soak in the Mineral Room, which may not seem like a long time but it really is! The lighting and pleasant background music really set the mood for an enjoyable experience. Then followed the soak with a 60 minute couples massage. Each massage therapist focused on different problem areas and customized the experience for each person. Although the spa offers additional amenities such as overnight stays and a onsite restaurant; that'll have to be for another day. Highly Highly Recommend this place! Definitely look forward to returning!!

Yelp
Me and my husband came to Elephant Butte for a mini vacation, and stayed at the Sierra Grande Lodge for three nights. We loved it so much! Especially compared to the rest of the city that is older and a little run down in areas, it is so nice and clean. I love that we get a 30 minute soak in the private hot tub every day, it was my favorite way to end the day. All the workers were very nice and helpful, and we can't wait to come back next summer and stay here again! p.s. I would recommend going to Ingo's Art Cafe that is down the street, such a cool little coffee shop and an awesome owner.

Yelp
Sierra Grande was our first night's lodging after arriving in New Mexico. It's a small resort in a little town. We arrived sometime around 11:30pm. Luckily they have round-the-clock staffing at the front desk. Simon was working the night shift. He was nice to talk to. He was very knowledgeable about the area, the history, etc. The Sierra Grande is only two floors. Our room was on the 2nd floor. There is no elevator so we had to carry our luggage up the stairs. We were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to our room. It's a large room with an inset soaking tub and a separate room containing the toilet and sink. In the room was a bed, bedside tables, desk with an ice bucket, drinking glasses and a bottle filled with water. There's also a ceiling fan and an armoire containing warm robes. We paid extra for a room with a shared balcony. It was nice to sit out on the balcony in the mornings. Instead of travel sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash, they have full sized bottles to use. Included in your stay is a private 30 minute soaking time on the day of your arrival and on the day of departure. We arrived so late we missed the first soaking time. These soaking times need to be reserved ahead of time with the front desk. The next morning we had our soaking time in an indoor tub. It was so relaxing and peaceful to be in your own pool. It's a small resort so you don't hear kids nor a lot of people talking. It was so relaxing we decided at the last minute to stay another night. We reserved a morning time slot for the outdoor soaking tub. Even though the morning was a little chilly it felt wonderful to get into the hot water. For each soaking tub there's a bench, towels, a pitcher of ice water and two glasses. A continental breakfast is also provided. There was hot, scrambled eggs, diced applewood bacon, tortilla shells, shredded cheddar, Hatch green chile (of course), steel cut oatmeal, two kinds of muffins, assorted yogurts, granola, assorted juices, almond milk, regular milk, coffee, and teas. The dining room attendant was Thomas. He is a hard worker. He was always cleaning up, helping the guests, getting breakfasts ready for guests to take to their rooms, etc. He was a delight to talk to. All the staff at Sierra Grande were very nice. A special shout out to Luba and Tiffany at the front desk. They were very helpful and kind with the questions we asked. Also a thank you to Kelly in housekeeping. She was a hoot to talk to. I would definitely recommend Sierra Grande.

Yelp
The entire Facility is very comfortable, and CLEAN with a lovely calm atmosphere. The outdoor soaking tub is great. The indoor pools/tubs are very nice as well. Overall, a great destination, inside as well as the outdoor grounds. Complementary breakfast was nicely presented with real eggs!!!! The downside: the bed was extremely hard, very hard and shakes with the slightest movement, it also slantes to one side of the bed. The pillows were equally as hard. However, everything was clean, which is very comforting! Ask for softer pillows if they have them.

Yelp
This place far exceeded my expectations! It was truly the silver lining on an otherwise disappointing trip to T or C. The staff were so friendly, patient and helpful. Tea, water, and coffee are available in the pleasant lobby. I thought the room we had was pretty big, though most of it was taken up by the bed and tub (huge tub! great for 2 people!). I loved the 2nd floor patio, accessible from our room - nice view. The complimentary nighttime soak in their outdoor hot spring tub was relaxing and romantic - we could see the stars! - and staff provided ice water and towels to make the experience even more comfortable. We could have had a soak the next day, but we didn't schedule one and I regretted it. I also wish we had scheduled a couple's massage - seemed like a good deal, and their spa room looked so cozy and peaceful. They offer a complimentary breakfast from 7a - 10a, which was a nice surprise. It was fresh and hot, with plenty of options. The muffins were especially tasty. And for all this, the price was great. Highly recommend a stay at Sierra Grande!

Yelp
We had our plans change for the weekend after Thanksgiving and chose to come down to T or C to a not too far away staycation from Albuquerque. We booked the Sierra Grande and were not disappointed. Nice room with a large soaker tub right there in the bedroom. Charming decor. The floors were wood and had the creak when walking as if I was back at grandmas. You could hear other guests as they creaked up and down the hallways and in their rooms but overall it was decently quiet. One morning our neighbor on the bathroom side had a conversation on speaker phone about a bill he was trying to pay. Needless to say, I know more about him then he'd like me to. You get a 30 minute hot springs soak each day of your stay and I highly recommend the outdoor pool. Lovely setting, beautiful sky view at day or night. They provide you with towels and ice water. We also got a couples massage and Jennifer was amazing!! Wow! You get a soak with your massage too. This time was indoors and was ok but you could hear the front desk and it wasn't as fun to look at the wall as it was to be outside. Breakfast was included daily as well. We only ate there once. Breakfast was ok. Nothing special. Our two other mornings we went to local breakfast spots like Passion Pies and Grapevine Bistro. We did eat dinner at the Restaurant on Saturday and my kale salad was good and my hubby had the wedge which was super yummy. Rolls took forever due to them being "toasted" though they came out cold. My hubby had the bison rib eye and that was fantastic! The sides were sad. The asparagus was fibrous and chewy and the fingerling potatoes were sliced and had no seasoning I had the spa bowl which I enjoyed. We also had the chocolate mouse cake. Overall it was good but for the high end prices for the meat the sides should be exceptional as well. Verdict: we will come back. Nice staff, lovely soaks and nice location. Thanks Sierra Grande.

Yelp
You're told you get a private soak, swimsuit optional. But one of the staff walked in on me and my boyfriend during our PRIVATE, nude soak and saw everything. This was humiliating and disrespectful. When we checked out, they said "so sorry for the staff invading your soak. we gave you a discount in hopes you'll come back." I appreciated that until I saw that the apology discount was $18.30! I find it extremely insulting that that's how much my privacy and emotional well being is worth to them. KEEP YOUR SWIMSUIT ON. THE TUBS ARE NOT PRIVATE LIKE THEY CLAIM and there are no locks on the doors.

Mary H.

Yelp
The Casita is comfortable and has it's own private soaking tub. The spa services are top-notch. The entire staff is cheerful and ready to help, yet not intrusive. We had a wonderful four day stay.

Yelp
Massage by Misty, not relaxing, i paid for Swedish but recieved deep , she has a cold personality, and continually shushed other guests and therapists. I was surprised that the room was just curtained off for multiple massage areas could . No privacy.

Esther K.

Yelp
This place has not changed Anything but it's price and ownership in 20 years. The mattresses were so old that putting a topper only made it worse. The staff tries but if owners don't want to improve facilities then staff is left with nothing to do. TorC is trying to get better but when their best is so bad it hard to justify. 495 a night is crazy and not worth it.

Yelp
Very quiet and relaxing. The bed was super comfortable and the evening outdoor soak was perfect. I had a 30 min morning soak and massage. It was amazing. Definitely want to go back.

Yelp
We went there because I'd read about it years ago and had it on my bucket list. It was worth it and we went back a few months later. The restaurant was excellent and the food was what I'd call "elegant" Southwestern. The rooms were clean, comfortable and charming and my room had a bath connected to the hot springs so I gave my dog (dog friendly rooms on the first floor!) a luxurious spa bath, like he deserved ;) The staff were lovely. Of course, a highlight of the experience was the healing hot springs which were a rejuvenating treat after a long day of driving. I had a spa bath after checking-in and another one (they are included in the price) early in the morning before breakfast and it made me feel so good all day long. A+++

Yelp
I woke up this morning from a dream about this spa. I'm not even kidding... I actually dreamed about it! Honestly, Sierra Grande was possibly the most relaxing little getaway I've ever been on. From the food (try the quail bites!) to the massages (ask for the couples' massage room with the two full walls of windows!) to the hot tubs, I couldn't have asked for more. They provide the most delectable smelling personal care products in all the rooms, and also have them all for sale at the front desk, too. I highly recommend sitting out on their patio for a quiet early breakfast. You get to watch the birds flit from frond to frond of the giant palm trees at the front of the building, which I found to be very relaxing. I will say that the lodge is a bit out of the way-- we actually drove by it twice before we pulled in when we first got there. But take it slow, and you won't miss it. You won't be disappointed with a long weekend (or more!) at Sierra Grande.

Yelp
Sierra Grande is one of many properties owned by media mogul and philanthropist Ted Turner. He founded CNN and TBS. We wanted to get away to Truth or Consequences to bathe in some hot springs. The place we like, Blackstone Hot Springs, was sold out. Thanks to Yelp, I found Sierra Grande instead. Because of it's beauty and amenities, I was surprised I found a room there! We also got a 20 percent discount for summer so that was also great! Sierra Grande was featured in National Geographic not too long ago. The Turners are into making the earth and environment a better place. That's why they were in National Geographic. I thought that was very cool so I said yes, we need to go here. I'm so glad we chose it because the staff was accommodating and friendly the second we got there. They asked us if we were ready to bathe when we walked in. We wanted to lie down in our room for a bit. The 30-minute bath was very nice. The water was the perfect temperature and of course relaxing. It's similar to a jacuzzi with bubbles. The water from the hot springs always makes you relax. It has some lithium in it so I think that's why. The young lady also left us a pitcher of ice water for us to drink during our bath. She even lit a candle for us! That was a nice touch! You get two 30-minute baths included for no extra charge with your hotel room. Aside from the baths, they offer different types of massages, facials and more. All of these are separate costs. You also get a free continental breakfast with the room. We were going hiking early the next morning so we didn't take advantage. We're pretty sure we met Ted Turner's daughter, Laura the next morning in the lobby. She was working at the front desk. She was very nice and friendly. She even gave us two bottles of water for our hike. Overall our stay was fabulous. I was impressed with their service and hospitality. The only thing that I didn't like was the bed. It made a lot of noise if you rolled over in it. Oh and because of New Mexico laws, they cannot serve beer or wine in a room service order. There's a small fridge in the room. The room was less than $200 (around $177 with tax included). I felt that was reasonable with the 2 30-minute baths and breakfast also included. I'd come back sometime in the near future.

Yelp
My boyfriend is a custom home builder throughout New Mexico and I went with him to check out a property he was going to start working on in Berrenda Creek (nearby Hillsboro). We decided that we would stop in Truth or Consequences for a night and have a mini-vacay since I had never been and our muscles desperately needed hot springs water to relax. After looking online, this hotel was available for about 200 for the night. This was a little more than what I wanted to pay for one night but it included 2 30 minute private soaks daily, and free continental breakfast so it seemed that it would pay off. The room was lovely though small for what the rate was (queen sized bed with rock garden view room). The baths were all indoors with the exception of one outdoor one that was private, and had strung lights, plants, and generally a cute private area. It was all very nice but considering that I later found out that I could have stayed right on the river for far less money, these soaks in manmade style baths were kind of a rip off. We opted for a couples massage as well, which started with a 30 minute soak. We went for an indoor bath with jets since we wanted to open up our muscles. This was a great option to have. The massages were excellent. It was super awkward though because we were told we would pay for our services at the end of our visit when we checked out of the hotel the next day but we wanted to tip them. They told us we can do that when we check out. When we checked out, there was no option to tip them! This was a mess and there needs to be an easier way to figure it out. The front desk staff was extremely kind and accommodating. It was hot when we stayed so I kept getting cravings for sprite and orange juice and they were sweet to get them for me and not charge it. I was annoyed by a waitress in the restaurant who after providing me with 2 orange juices (one for me and one for my boyfriend) as part of our free continental breakfast, told me that she would need to charge me if I were to get more. Like relax, it's orange juice in a fancy resort, this is where you're going to start counting your pennies? lol. She was also a little rude earlier, as was the hostess, so the restaurant staff wasn't so fantastic but everything else was great.

Yelp
We stopped in for dinner after a long day driving. First off it is so bright in there we could have worn sunglasses. I had a house salad with 5 shrimp on it the size of a quarter, my husband had the ribeye that was ok, nothing to write about. The server took our drink order, which we got a bottle of wine, she clearly was not taught how to present a bottle of wine, she just poured it. She dropped off our meals and didn't return until well after we were finished eating, never came back to check on us. The hostess/busser stopped by a couple of times, which we appreciated and tipped her for it. The waitress never even asked if we wanted dessert. We will not return.

Yelp
Its okay the Casita....the Spa is wonderful We stayed in the casita, and it had pros and cons. The pros, it is large. The main bedroom has a king bed, private bath with a mineral soaking tub or a shower, The second bedroom on the opposite side of the house, has a quuen bed with private bath of a walk in shower, but poor shower head for a shower of that size. In between there is a large living room with a sleep sofa, a love seat desk, fireplace and TV. There is also a TV in each bedroom. The kitchen has everything you need a full size fridge, stove, microwave, coffe pot, toaster and blender, along with dishes, pots, pans silverware and the dining room has a small round table with seating for 4. You have your own parking, and gated yard so all private. The yard is large with an outdoor mineral bath that will seat 4, a porch with furniture, firepit and another area for sitting. The spa was delighful, the private bathing rooms are so nice, as are those that work there. It is a treat and relaxing. Make sure to walk behind the main building and take the stairs tothe top, the views are wonderful and the area well manicured, The cons, as far as the casita, the quirkiness of having to walk up hill (the house settled on one side quite a bit since building in the 1940's) to the kitchen is just that a quirk, so not bothersome. But it does not appear to be truely clean. The shelves that hold the dishes and glasses were very dusty, the bowl on top of the fridge, which could be used for mixing or salad, was dusty and greasy. As was some furniture, the tops get dusted but not the legs of furniture which with build up over time shows. I would not use any dish, glass etc unless washed first as one relies that the prior visitor did a good job (there is no dishwasher) and like I said lots of dust. The counter in the kitchen needs updating. Although it is suppose to go with the time era, it has seen better days. The bathrooms need painting, lots of chipped paint on the cabinet and walls. Although it does not make it dirty, when paying that much money, the areas should be kept up to date and the exhaust fans have not been cleaned in months. There are 3 airconditioners in the casita, which is nice on hot days, but at night the noise level is high, perhaps central air would be better. As the restaurant is closed they are offering a buffett in the morning, but the same thing everyday, scrambled eggs, with bacon bits, cheese and a flour tortilla, along with a muffin, I belive blueberry, apple or orange. coffee, tea and oatmeal. For those spending some time if the egg dish was varied to a omelet or frittata and as opposed to an apple or orange some mixed cut fruit. Then there is recycling, they only recycle cardboard, we asked about cans, bottles and they do not recycle them. Being a Ted Turner property who is about conservation, one would think they would recycle. Then the sitting area outdoors that has the netting, the netting is not useful when there are two holes so large a person could walk through them. Since the bugs are so bad at night the netting would be useful but with holes of that size it was wasted. Some of this maybe considered nitpicking, but they consider themselves a 4 star property, with dirt, holes, noisy a/c, large paint chips and the same daily breakfast, it is not 4 star.

Yelp
I couldn't be any happier with my stay at Sierra Grande. This affordably luxurious hotel/spa resort is nothing short of amazing and I plan on returning once every year. The staff is tremendously kind and accommodating and the space is gorgeous. Private, off-street parking, check. Very tidy, well-kept rooms, check. TV with decent channel selection, check. THOSE HOT SPRING BATHS ARE HEAVEN!!! (and they're private which is soooooooooooo necessary for me). I have no complaints. I planned on having a massage at the spa but was just too exhausted after my journey through White Sands National Monument and couldn't commit to any specific times. The restaurant is just ok for dinner, in my humble opinion but it could have been my selection. I ordered a pasta dish that had jalapeno bacon and some kind of cheese sauce with onions and roasted tomato, I added shrimp to mine and I really could have gone with something else, tbh. I'm from NYC so pasta is a thing that must be done well (with the plethora of Italian restaurants there and all) and even though I wasn't expecting an Italian dish, the taste was quite mediocre for me. Also, the bread was hard but it was complimentary so I just didn't eat it after that first bite. But I ordered room service breakfast the next morning and that truly did not disappoint (eggs, jalapeno bacon, potatoes, orange juice and cappuccino). My cappuccino was perfect!! I almost took off a star because I reserved my specific room with the expectation that I'd have a private balcony and it was actually shared. But I could've just missed/overlooked that detail myself, and the baths more than made up for it. Very happy with my stay. So sad to be leaving tomorrow morning.

Yelp
Okay four stars is a little chintzy because the staff was excellent and to be fair this is a great little place. I only give it 4 because the decor is a little chintzy and I can't get used to textured drywall in a $150 per night hotel. The room was pretty small and the decor (in the room) was cheap and tacky. I would give the restaurant 5 stars. Had dinner in the restaurant and it was at the top of my price range but worth it, fairly simple yet superb. The continental breakfast was bordering on stunning. No Texas shaped waffles here, again, relatively simple but truly excellent. Worth it? Next time I might stay somewhere else, but I'll probably come here for breakfast.

Yelp
I don't where to start.. I loved the service the messages.. they go out of their way to make you feel welcome.. I am going back for sure..

Yelp
This place is amazing! Staff were super friendly, and so helpful! They carried our heavy bags down the stairs just to be nice! We checked in late, and got us a big bucket of ice.. the hotel is spotless. The mineral tubs are so relaxing, it was an amazing way to wake up! Don't miss this incredible destination..

Yelp
Unique experience. Historical hotel with exceptionally helpful and well-trained staff. A little pricey, but includes a 30 min mineral hot tub private soak and a spectacular 2 course breakfast with fresh squeezed juice and coffe/ tea. Next time we pass through the area am definitely planning to come in early enough to take advantage of the many artist shops in the area and eat dinner at the Sierra as the menu looked very interesting, but unfortunately the lack of liquor license (should be getting one soon?) motivated us to go down the street for wine with our dinner The rooms are a bit small but as is the case with historical hotels sometimes. The bath/shower in the room area seems a little odd too, but this place is all about taking advantage of the bath so.... Rooms are very clean and comfortable with plenty of modern amenities. After staying the night in a few generic Holliday Inn suites and Candlewood suites, this was a pleasant break. Planning to stop again if I have the opportunity.

Yelp
The couples massage is amazing, you first dip in the private hot springs and then the most amazing massage. Rooms are immaculate and very comfortable. The staff is very courteous and professional always practicing social distancing. It's a must for couples get away!!

Yelp
Last year, I took my Mom and Sister out for dinner here, and it was wonderful. This year, with a new Chief, it was terrible. The pozole appetizer was so salty as to be inedible, and the tamales (main course) were just awful. I will commend the wait staff, who did a great job - but the chief needs to up his game.

Yelp
Amazing rooms and hot springs! I cannot wait to get back!!!! The people are so nice and helpful. When I went the restaurants were closed due to COVID I am hoping next time the town will be open again. Very excited for my return

Yelp
This is your go-to spot for a special occasion gourmet meal in T or C. Dinner entrees include Antelope Chop & Bison Tenderloin, both of which come from owner Ted Turner's New Mexico ranches. There are less expensive dinner options but do yourself a favor & splurge. I ordered the bison (tender & delicious!) & my friend ordered the Ribeye steak covered in red chile sauce. The wine list is small but we'll thought out; the pinot noir went perfectly with the bison.

Yelp
The first time we have eaten here for dinner. The service and food were excellent. The portions were just right, two in the party had the Sierra Grande Spa bowl, one had the Fobidden Black Rice bowl with grilled shrimp and the other in our party had the Kale salad with bison. We were all pleased with our main courses. We all enjoyed the chile relleno appetizer. Which was huge and great tasting. The chef had also made gnocchi this evening and I was so...Tempted it sounded absolutely scrumptious! But we were all trying to be very health conscious and tonight's meal fit the bill. We will definitely return.

Yelp
I would definitely stay here again the rooms are clean but small . The staff is OK enough friendly .The Hot Spring out front was amazing we had a nice soak. Although it's a dollar for every minute you stay in there and there's only one tub outside that sucks. The breakfast is nothing to write home about but the coffee was nice and strong.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way to LA from Austin with our 80 lb black lab thanks to an article I found somewhere on the web. It was quintessential New Mexico and perfect for our little adventure in the southwest. The staff incredibly accommodating and so friendly. We didn't treat ourselves to any spa treatments as we were doing a day trip to White Sands (everyone should check that out too) but we enjoyed 1 hr soaks in two different springs for only staying one night. The outdoor spring under the stars at night with a local bottle of wine is a must. They let us check in early and would've let us check out late if we wanted to. There were local skin care options in the lobby that we sampled after our baths. I loved the way my skin felt so much that I ended picking up the Earth Magic skin care clarifying serum. If I'm ever doing another little road trip through New Mexico, I will be returning. Can't stretch how enjoyable and affordable this southwestern Gem is.

Yelp
One of the best spa experiences. Staff were so accommodating and happy to help guests. They even offered extra help for handicapable guests with shower chairs. Spa staff were calming and knowledgeable about their craft. Would stay here again.

Yelp
Simple dining room, perfunctory service ( waitress forgot to mention specials to us) . Limited menu - Steaks and bison obviously the stars which we maybe should have sprung for. Chiles rellenos listed as a starter - 2 large chiles - tasty - if you like a very heavy batter - breadlike. Roasted butternut hummous was very nice and well-seasoned Celery salad with feta, walnuts and dates was good but not as exceptional as the ingredient list proffered - but the grilled add-on breast of chicken was terrible. A dried- out piece of chicken served naked on a plate to the side. And no amount of tossing it with the salad (which was a little skimpy on dressing) could render flavor.

Yelp
The spa is high end and the staff is polite and accomodating. The rooms themselves were disappointing. For the price the were small and basic. Poor mattress and pillows, not a comfortable night. The bathroom toilet ran for long periods of time. The shower had warm water but not hot. The shampoo provided was cheap and their was no Conditoner.

Yelp
Went to Sierra Grande this evening for dinner. Only put one star as I had to put something to write a review. To begin with wait staff was very slow. They only had 6 bottles of wines to select from and apparently at 7:30 on Saturday they are out of one of there highest priced wines. Ordered the fried shrimp appetizer and that was a misnomer as the shrimp came out breaded and raw. Then talked to waitress who finally came by about the issue and it she was like "OK". Paid for appetizer and ran out as fast as possible. You would figure for a Ted Turner property there would be a higher level of standards but guess not. I would recommend to everyone thinking about trying this place Sonic down the street would be a better and safer choice

Yelp
I forgot to write a review when I went here. It is truly lovely. We enjoyed bringing our own picnic yummies and champagne, and the staff is very helpful in offering glasses, ice, etc. Charming lodge and the baths are lovely. Will definitely return. Not a good place for children, as it is a quiet and elegant place.

Yelp
We stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time. As far as I can tell, this is easily the nicest place to stay in T or C. The room rate includes a daily soak in one of their 4 spas (all four are nice, be sure to check out the outdoor one) as well as a delicious continental breakfast with homemade scones muffins and granola. We weren't able to get good ATT coverage in the hotel, but were surprised to find they had free high-speed wireless. The staff members are REALLY nice and accommodating/welcoming. The only minor downside is that due to the old building and wood floors, our room wasn't very quiet (we could easily hear people in the hallway and adjoining room). That said most of the patrons were quiet so it wasn't much of a problem.

Yelp
It was a fluke that I happened upon T or C.. And pure luck to have found Sierra Grande. The nicest ladies on earth work here. The tempo of the town will ease you into the near comatose feeling you'll get from the hotel/spa. I got a 90 min aromatherapy massage and 3- 30 min soaks for an unbelievable price. I loved all the tub options, but my late night moonlit private outdoor session capped off an already delicious day. T or C is magic indeed

Yelp
Wow wow wow! Stayed here for a 2 night getaway. And that was exactly what it was! A get away from reality to an oasis in the dessert. The romantic package is what we reserved and recived a soak each day we were here. Me and my wife had 2 messages on our visit and ate dinner one night and breakfast every morning. Creps, french toast, salad, ribs, and soup! Everything we had was excelent! The staff here is awesome! I cant say enough about how nice every employee here is. Will definitely be returning soon and recommending this place to friends and family.

Yelp
Stayed here for one night. The staff is friendly. The free dip in the hot springs was nice, but it gave me a headache after a while. I nice vacation spot for couples.

Yelp
This was a gorgeous little spa and lodge tucked away in T or C's historic district. Its not quite off the main drag so kind of tricky trying to find it but once you are there it is pure bliss. I've been to a couple other spas in T or C and i'd say this falls more into the higher end of things. If your looking for an experience this is the place to come. They offer a private tub for a half hour for $30 which seems pricey but once I arrived, they were not particularly busy and I actually got a full hour of soaking. You get your own private suite to soak in with its own shower. I believe they also do have 1 outdoor tub available as well. The ambiance is very relaxing with a southwestern feel. The lodging portion is very quaint and I would actually consider it for a romantic weekend getaway with my husband. They also have a restaurant onsite making it a complete romantic escape.

Yelp
This was the only place in town where we could find a place that would let us take our son in for a soak with us. We were so appreciative of the staffs willingness to make accommodations for us and how they welcomed us. We had a great time with our 2 year old son, no one was injured, and we even got a tiny bit of relaxation in.

Yelp
I am shocked that this place only has 8 reviews! It definitely seems like one of the nicest places for accomodation and hot springs in T or C (unless I missed something else?).. I just got back from there and we had a fabulous time! I had to call up several times beforehand with various questions/requests.. the people at the front desk were always SO NICE and accommodating! My husband and I were coming straight from our wedding and realized we were going to have our ringbearer/dog with us-!! (HOW did we overlook this beforehand?? Don't ask..) No problem, says Sierra Grande! They allow pets in some of their rooms! We had reserved a honeymoon package which required we stay for two nights, which we had already booked. Unfortunately, my new hubbie came down with a terrible stomach virus right after the wedding and we had to miss the first day/night of our mini-moon! We were already so bummed out, when I remembered you needed to stay there two nights to get the honeymoon package. I called up Sierra Grande and they checked with a manager and got right back to me-- that would be no problem, they said! Love these guys! All the staff were super helpful and friendly from the time we arrived til the time we left. The facilities were clean and rustic-- the perfect medium between a high-end spa and a hippie-fied hot springs hideaway. Our room was simple and nice.. I was a little worried what the "pet room" might be like, but simply lacked a rug over the tiled floor! We woke in the morning to the delicious smell of cinnamon-y muffins, which led us into restaurant area where a little breakfast buffet awaited us-- housemade granola, yogurt, fruit, and a variety of various vegan breads/scones/muffins! They have four different private tubs you can reserve by the hour, and each spa treatment begins with a half hour in the tub (we discovered that a half hour is really the perfect amount of time to soak anyway!) I loved my massage therapist, Laura-- I got two massages from her during our stay. They also carry great products, which are what they use in the rooms as well. The entire atmosphere of the spa is very soothing, with very Native American-flutey atmospheric music playing softly in the background and a candlelit, Southwestern decor. It was the perfect end to our desert wedding! Why did I drop a star, do you ask? Well, just a couple small things: *the water glasses in the rooms are very very teeny and my water bottle didn't fit under the sink. C said he heard the staff offer pitchers of water and glasses to several of the older couples getting spa treatments, but we were never offered anything like that! hmmm... *absolutely zilch AT&T coverage within the hotel. but they do have wireless. *we asked for dinner recommendations and the girl at the desk was quick to hand us two menus, as if they were the only choices-- one was a burger place and the other was Los Arcos, which seemed like the only high end choice. We went with the latter and were less than thrilled with it.. then the next day, we found several other restaurants in town (including one, Casa Bellaluca, which was only a couple blocks from the lodge!) In a town so small, why wouldn't they have all the local menus or at least a listing of all local places? We definitely would have rather eaten dinner at Bellaluca. *our room came with a spring-fed tub, but the spring water was only cold, not hot! (however, there was hot/cold water from pipes as well).. just not sure what the point of a spring-fed tub is if it was only freezing cold water.. But, all in all, we absolutely loved our stayed at Sierra Grande and look forward to returning for anniversaries! :)

Yelp
Tranquil, beautiful and restful. I don't know if there is something in the air from the hot springs that run through this hotel but I've never felt so peaceful and content staying away from home. First we felt so welcomed by the front desk staff when we arrived a few hours early. One of the staff gave us a quick tour of the spa area and explained how we had two 30 minute tub times with our room. They then checked to see if our room was ready without us asking. To sum up, the staff anticipates what you may need which is rare and unheard of in NM. I can't emphasize that more. The room and ground were immaculate. There was a small emergency with a gas smell in the kitchen that turned out to be nothing but the staff adequately handled and emergency services was there quickly. The only misstep in my opinion was the lack of amends in the form of an offer of a free glass of wine or entree or something similar for the inconvenience of leaving our room for a bit. The in room tub with spring water was amazing. The room is not super high end but very nice. Tasteful. Complimentary breakfast is awesome There is very little to do in the town. More entertainment at the hotel would be nice. I would have loved a fire in the lobby fireplace or outside in the fire pit as it was very damp and chilly that night. I'm confused as to why that wasn't obvious to the staff? Dinner in the hotel restaurant was very good. The menu has lunch available at dinner time which is a less pricey option. The dinner prices are 25-?? But our fish tacos and gourmet Mac and cheese were all we needed. Wine options range from $6 to 15 for a glass. Very reasonable and good variety!

Yelp
My boyfriend took me on a surprise weekend May 16-18th. I really had no idea what he had planned. Only the greatest trip for us. He took me to Sierra Grande Lodge. This place was wonderful. From the moment we walked in the customer service was impeccable. All 3 women greeted us immediately and one of them said something like we're glad you're here. How awesome. :) One of the ladies said we would like to schedule you for a soak tonight. I was like a soak. What is this place? They gave me the run down. My boyfriend had planned a SPA weekend for us. They gave us a tour and asked if we needed help with our luggage (we didn't). We went for a soak and all I can say is AWESOME. This was Friday night. I had the best night sleep. On Saturday, we scheduled a couples massage. The ladies that gave us our massages were great. Charles had Jodi and I had Tina. Tina was rad. The pressure was just perfect. She even talked to me before she started to let me know that if I had any problems to let her know immediately. I didn't. My only problem was that the massage didn't last longer. :) Both ladies were just lovely. Later I had a body wrap with Tina again. I had never had a body wrap. This was wonderful. Again, my only complaint, not long enough. I had the 1 hour, but next time I will get the 1 1/2. We also had a couple more soaks in the mineral water. Saturday was just a great relaxing day. I took 3 naps. Sadly, we left on Sunday. We had one more soak and off we went. We will definitely be back before the end of the year. I want to try the outside soak at night looking up at the stars and the moon. The breakfast was continental. My only complaint was that there wasn't a restaurant on site for maybe a lite lunch or a lite dinner. I would have liked to have stayed on the premises instead of going into town. I give this place a million stars.
