I’ve seen other comments about the poor attitude of the salespeople here, and I’m adding another one to the list. I greeted the clerk twice, only to be ignored and met with a cold, robotic, “Do you need help with anything?” No basic courtesy, just bad vibes all around. If you can’t hire people with basic human decency, I don’t know how you expect to run a successful business. I left without buying anything, and honestly, with the terrible service and poor selection, I won’t be coming back. Such a shame for the owner. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Rude staff, bad product range, and a complete waste of time.

Best French onion soup ever!! Ahi tuna tacos weren't bad either.

Needed to pick up a few supplies for a backpacking trip and not only found everything I needed but also a helpful, educated staff. Love this local gem.

Inventory was a bit limited compared to Murphy location, but they offered to bring items from other locations to the Sonora store if I wanted. The girl running the place at the time was super nice, helpful and conversational. Sales were good! Go check it out!

Forgot some ski socks and stopped by. This is a pretty cool store, there wasn't anything I couldn't find and it's got better selection and pricing than the resort stores. The guy at the register was super knowledgeable and now I want to try snow shoe hiking.

Very friendly helpful and knowledgeable staff. Not sure what the other reviewers issue was with the pricing,of the several items I have purchased here over the years all prices were very competitive with online prices. Plus you are supporting small local business instead of lining corporate pockets. Shop local,support small and locally owned businesses.

Super helpful local staff. They are knowledgeable about gear and don't try to over well you. In fact they were recommending more cost effective items. Good selection and reasonable prices.

Apparently your sales people enjoy making fun of others. When a paying customer comes in inquiring about floatation devices for your keys - which exist by they way - and is made fun of by an uneducated salesperson, I suggest they be fired. This was my family members experience. I recommend ANYWHERE else.

This store is so cool! My boyfriend and I parked a little ways down the street to walk around and look at stores and this place caught my eye because who doesn't love a good outdoor store? And a local business, at that! Lots of cool gear and clothes, and even better sales! They had a lot of winter season sales when we came in so I ended up buying a comfortable jacket with their logo! They literally have everything here. I saw a few books I wanted to buy, but had to stay within my budget :) but I'd love to come back and maybe pick up those books and take them home with me! Honestly, if you're in need for a good outdoor gift or to add to your gear collection, go here.

We had a great experience here. Looking for hiking shoes and wanted something well made. The shoes and sandals were are high quality and each had advantages which was well explained by the knowledgeable person helping me. I was able to pick out the perfect pair OBOZ shoes, they are leather and waterproof with a stiff close fitting heel cup. Next, some thin inner socks to prevent blisters, they had several kinds to choose from. Thank you for having so many styles and brands to choose from! But best of ALL, were the great questions and helpful answers that helped me get the right pair of shoes. I got these shoes to help me keep up with my grandkids- they work- supportive arch and heel and I have good traction. And I loved my hike at Pinecrest Lake with my grandchildren.

It's hard to walk out of this store without buying something. My husband and I love to support this store and their staff. From their Sierra Nevada Adventure branded active wear and goods - ranging from hats, to sweatshirts, to nalgene bottles and more - - to their solid outdoor items (my husband has been rocking a pair of pants from here - for months now and they still look new), to socks, vests, disc golf sets and more - Sierra Nevada Adventure Co is continually switching out their inventory. The staff are always personable and helpful and if you want to learn more about the area - especially when it comes to exploring the outdoors - I highly recommend you ask them for tips and suggestions. Trust.

Just walked in this morning to say hello and get a couple of cool shirts after my "morning glory" at "the bagel bin" across the street. I got a new walking shirt from here that I will wear soon for this town while I am out policing the streets of "Gotham" (Sonora CA). You know cause IM BATMAN! For some reason I had a missing person report out on me on Friday according to the Sonora police but I went to say hi to the Tuolumne county jail on Justice center drive behind the Walmart and they found me. I wanted to help them find me just in case I was still missing. I'm just not wearing my Batman "mask". Lol. Thank you for your outdoor store and cool equipment to help us enjoy the outdoors even better. God bless

Clerk was observant enough that when we came in masked he also masked up to make us feel comfortable. Excellent customer service.

Great store and awesome staff but their return policy is BS. I bought a pair of hiking shoes for over $100, took them on one hike, and they were already falling apart. Tried to take them back 3 days after I purchased them and since I had worn them outside they wouldn't accept them. Lesson learned: Never buy Merrell hiking shoes.

Used to love this place!!! They used to be the place for gear.....but not so much anymore choices are slim.Went in today and asked the clerk about an item and was given an answer that made absolutely no sense????

I appreciate the way that they explained how to try out hiking boots. I went in there three times in a week and they were very patient with me. I bought a pair of hiking boots that are the best pair I have ever had!

Very helpful and friendly staff. We went in to buy snow shoes for my daughter. In the process of learning about snow shoes we discovered a new sport: disc golf. Now we are enjoying both. A great local store worth checking out.

I was excited to buy gear somewhere besides REI until I talked to the guy working the counter. Why would someone without people skills work in customer service? It's privately owned and I'd like to buy climbing gear from them but the guy working the counter was so irritating and rude to my buddy we couldn't. Judging from the other reviews here I'd say they must know the owners or have some connection. Horrible service. Horrible selection.

A downtown privately-owned small but good-sized store is a refreshing change, if you're used to the REI style intimidating hangers. Excellent and friendly staff who choose a special variety of goods. It was the first place I saw the (then) new stitch-free Salomons. Also a good Mountain Hardware selection.

The guys in there are so nice. I always get my dakine bags from this place. They really keep you informed when new stuff will come in.

Great place, average price, incredible staff (the guy I seem to always run into really knows what he's talking about), and a huge variety for such a small store. Plus, they're not above telling you where to find gear they don't stock if you need it. Again, great place. I buy all my new gear there.
