A pleasant cafe near Palmengarten. We went on a Sunday afternoon and had to wait to be seated for 10 minutes as it was crowded. The food options were great with a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. The food was of good quality and tasted great! The people were friendly and helpful!

We were here early in the afternoon on a Sunday and had a pleasant experience. After a little wait we were seated at a quiet table and had a very nice lunch with soup, Wiener Schnitzel and dessert. Attentive service, nice atmosphere 🙏

We went to this cafe on recommendation but were very disappointed. Unfortunately, the expectations did not match the reality. Unfortunately, everything was disappointing! The desserts are tasteless, there is not that refinement and delicacy of flavor that I am used to when it comes to cakes. The atmosphere also leaves much to be desired - the atmosphere of a catering establishment! Uncomfortable. People crowded at the entrance, waiting to be seated at a table. I didn't like it right away, but I was hoping that if there were a lot of people, it might actually taste good! But alas! We didn't wait for our turn just bought cakes...What's the bottom line? I recommend you to visit other dessert cafes in Frankfurt, I assure you they are there!

5-Star Reviews from Bea

One of my favourites in Frankfurt. I have to praise the elegant atmosphere and the professional staff. I have been there for lunch and for Kaffee und Kuchen and was always pleased. The food is delicious and (in my opinion) well worth the price. My recommendations: the special weekly menu, the Mille-Feuille Toskana (only available in the Summertime), and the fresh orange juice. You can pay with card and the staff helps you in English, if you specify this preference. During the sunnier months, it is very pleasant to sit outside. However, seeing as this is a very popular location, I would recommend booking a table in advance and specifying whether you would like to sit outside (even for Kaffee und Kuchen!). Quality is the motto of this house. Ideal for: a date, a special celebration, a classy treat...

Impressive. First of all the location is beautiful. During a warm day you should take a table outside. You will be in the backyard of Palmgarten, a park full of nature. The second surprise was the service. As a non-German it’s hard to find good service in restaurants, but this place have very good staff, kind and calm. The cherry on the cake is the quality of the food. It’s delicious. We went there to have some cakes and coffee, but ended up having lunch followed by cakes. ☺️ You can check some pics of the dishes we had.

Good place to visit after Palmengarten, but hosted on the entrance was super rude. I understand we are in Germany, so expectations for service are low. But this woman hit a new bottom

Google
Very idyllic place with an outside seating right next to the beautiful greenery of the Palmengarten botanical garden. It’s a bit up class, expensive place with an older crowd. Nevertheless, we had a fantastic time after our afternoon stroll in the gardens. No issues with the staff as they were helpful and polite to us. We ordered a glass of sparkling wine, which was a bit overpriced (10 € each!) and had a couple of cakes (around 6€ each) to try as the kitchen was closed around 4 pm. All of them were absolutely delicious and also quite big so be careful not to order too many! Siesmayer cafe can be entered either from the street or the Palmgarten, which is super convenient.

We went there during our visit in the Palmgarten. I would not recommend this place. Overcrouded, overpriced and has an atmosphere like a canteen. The food was terrible: Weißwurst and Aufbackpretzel in Lidl quality, tasteless Omlette with 1 sad cherry tomato. The coffee tasted like it was made with a breakfast machine. The soup was ok. All of this priced like in a gourmet restaurant. Our server was nice but we waited for our drinks like 20 Minutes. There are better places in Frankfurt.

Yelp
Went here today after touring the Palmengarten. I had looked on Yelp and knew I wanted to come here. Ordered the omelette with salad & frites for lunch with a lovely glass of sparkling rosé. Quite the lovely meal to eat outdoors looking at the pond with swans & ducks. The omelette itself was fair. Nothing too special. But when you had a bite of it with the arugula salad or a fresh cherry tomato it was divine. The frites were well cooked. A good size fry that had a crisp exterior and a fluffy potato interior. For dessert I opted for the framboise torte. It was rich & chocolatey with a bright burst or raspberry filling. Service was smooth & flawless. Would go back again just to try another lovely dessert.

Yelp
I had a terrible experience at this café last night. I arrived at 17.45 pm and asked for a French onion soup. The waiter told me that the kitchen was closing, but their website says it is open until 6 pm. A soup is not that difficult to prepare, and so I asked again and he grudgingly gave me the soup. I then had a glass of wine and a water. I asked for a Merlot - they didn't have one 'open'. The only one open was a 'Chianti' from Italy, so I took that. They served it much colder than room temperature. When the soup arrived, it did not taste very good. It was extremely greasy and also too sweet. About 18.40, I asked for another glass of wine from another waiter. The waiter said they were about to close. I said that there was still twenty minutes and could I please have another glass. Ten minutes later the first waiter came back and said they didn't want to open another bottle so they would sell me a 'small' glass of wine. I agreed to this. My friend and I asked for the invoice. My friend went to the ladies' room and I paid for my bill which came to EUR 25.70 for 1 French onion soup, 2 glasses of wine, one 'large' and one 'small', and one small mineral water. So they are not inexpensive here! I gave the waiter exact change, and the 5 euro note had a very slight rip on the side. The waiter looked at it and said 'You need to give me a different note.' I said 'I assure you, this is fine.' He said 'No you must give me another note.' At this point I was really irritated at the fact that they were so unhelpful during this entire hour, where my friend and I spent over 50 euro, that I said 'No. I have given you a perfectly fine banknote.' He said 'Give me another one' and just stood there and stared aggressively at me for 1 whole minute. Then I said ' I assure you, if your bank will not accept this banknote, you can go to the Bundesbank and they will give you a new banknote.' He said ' No, YOU go and get a new banknote there.' Then he kept standing there and staring at me aggressively. I got out my phone to answer some emails and after another minute he left. I can assure you that I will NEVER go here again. It is a nice café, perhaps to visit if you've been to the Palmengarten and want some cake, but otherwise nothing is appealing. It is very expensive and the waiters are unhelpful and very aggressive.

Yelp
The good: friendly service, beautiful desserts, beautiful restaurants and decoration. The bad: expensive, bland food. I came here after going to the Palmengarten and becoming extremely hungry. I'm very glad that I didn't decide to eat lunch here, but only got a snack. Still, two cakes and one coffee cost €14. In another itself, that's not a big deal, but the coffee was not better than a McDonald's coffee, and even though the cakes were absolutely beautiful to the eye, they had no flavor. How can you put mangoes, pomegranates, and passionfruit together in a desert, and still be bland? I would only recommend this if you really need to eat something because you're starving or you don't mind paying a lot of money for so so food.

Yelp
The service was poor and slow, food was plain and bland for the price and was the first time we had schnitzel in Germany and this place almost ruined it for us. Very expensive as well.

Yelp
Tea and Coffee were both very good. I had the potato pancakes, one of my favorite dishes, they were pretty fancy but yummy! I really enjoyed the pot of Vanilla Rooibos tea I had, it was about 2 1/2 cups of tea, very nice. The dessert menu is extensive! I had affogato and it was really good!

Yelp
Meh. I've had better. Was seated indoors and there's absolutely no ventilation. It was about 68 degrees Fahrenheit and a tad muggy outdoors, but the temp felt like it increased 10 degrees the moment you stepped through the door. Table was sticky and hadn't been wiped down from the last patron. Service was brisk (though it's Germany, so I have no idea why I'm so surprised). Coffee was good. Käsekuchen and Opera tart were just okay, nothing special. The lime yogurt tart thing was good though. All in all, I don't really recommend this place. Pastries and cakes, you can find better elsewhere, with better service, and a more pleasant setting.

Yelp
Nice place with a very nice view into the "Palmengarten". A decent variety of cakes and also some good dishes (classics like Wiener Schnitzel).

Yelp
We met for coffee and cake. The cake selection seemed lovely and the waiter was nice. I am deducting three stars as the cafe's manager rudely reprimanded us for having 4 chairs at our table (for four people). We had gotten 2 missing chairs from a table that no one had used at that time. She was looking to get chairs for that table at some point and apparently would have liked the chairs we sat on and was upset that we did not ask her permission to get a chair (but no one had offered to help us get seats when we had arrived). Recommend looking for chairs without scolding paying customers. Not the right way to treat your customers. It made us feel unwelcome.

Yelp
Nice location and cakes are really tasty. It's so sweet of the waiter that a cup of water is given when i ordered coffee.

Yelp
Good service, vegan options, coffee wasn't very good, cheesecake was great, pretty expensive, English menu available, takes credit cards.

Yelp
Nunman muss wissenw as man sucht.

Yelp
Average food, nice confiserie, perhaps a good place to take the parents or the family for a weekend lunch, but it gets so crowded, noisy and full of prams, is it really worth it?

Lolita Lee G.

Yelp
Lunch was good not amazing. Had the fish with mashed taters and pickled cucumber... I enjoyed it :) the raspberry pie tho.. So good yum yum xx

Yelp
Got in at an early lunch without to many people around. People started to come in and food being served all around. We asked the waiter four times why we didnt get any food. Third time they suddenly had problem with the starter. Everytime the waiter said two minutes (prompting us to pay?!?!)... After over one hour (since we placed the order) and seeing the food we ordered being served to others that arrived after us we left. 20 minutes later we were sitting at vapiano with pasta infront of us...

Yelp
This place is really lovely. The view on to the Palmengarten is super, the interior decoration is contemporary and there is a great buzz about this cafe. The cakes and patisserie look and taste great. However, the food and meals are average and totally overpriced. Therefore I recommend this place more for the coffee and cake rather than lunch or dinner. On the weekends it is better to book in advance if you are going for a meal as it does get very crowded. The service is horribly slow and somewhat inept - clearly an area for improvement. But the feel of the place and the cakes mean I regularly come back for more.
