Fresh, flavorful seafood, worth the wait! The food here is absolutely delicious and everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor. It can get a little hectic during peak times, and things might move a bit slow since the place gets packed and the staff is juggling a lot. That said, the waitresses were top-notch: friendly, professional, and doing their best to keep up with the crowd. If you're not in a rush, it's definitely worth it!

First, the vibes were great! Atmosphere, great! My server was Alexis and she was great! Super friendly! The host members seemed a little distracted and could present a little more welcoming. I started with a Frozen Watermelon Daquiri that was delicious! Hats off to the bartender! I got the special, House Oysters, Louisiana. They were okay, not much the kitchen could do about that. It was a little unfortunate that didn’t have any Tobasco or Louisiana hot sauce available. I love Cholula but the flavors don’t really match well with the oysters. I also ordered the Catch of the Day, blackened Golden Tilefish with a side of green beans and red potatoes. The fish was underseasoned and over buttered. The potatoes were simply boiled potatoes tossed in butter and some seasoning. The green beens, albeit fresh which was a plus, they were under seasoned. Tips to the staff, perhaps alter the menu and make the red potatoes be smashed potatoes, this will give a better texture and flavor with some crispyness. As for the green beens, it seems they’re parboiled, good start, perhaps toss them in the oven to get a little roast and crispness to them, then add a touch more salt. For the fish, less butter, a little more seasoning. This seems to be a bustling restaurant with a great location. I know my review will probably have no bearing on its success. But I hope they take this critique and adjust. Overall it’s a great restaurant with great potential, but if you desire a better quality dish, perhaps look elsewhere.

Google
I know oyster is in the title of this restaurant but there is so much more. So don't let the title of the establishment deter you from stopping here. It's in a very busy/touristy area with plenty of other bars, restaurants, shopping, etc. It's right in the middle of Siesta Key and it's a fun place to go to people watch and just wind down. Fun vibe, very relaxing, very low-key. Everyone is welcome and come as You are! I didn't have the oysters but my husband said they were great!

Google
We went in early August during the afternoon, and man was it hot inside. It's a location with character, but I'd recommend going at night or sitting outside. The inside was pretty warm and stuffy. 2-3 fewer tables would have helped. I ordered the shrimp n grits and the New England Clam Chowder. The chowder was pretty good, nice size chunks of clam. The main dish had big shrimp and the sausage was a nice lil addition. BlackBerry Crown Royal was refreshing and strong. Pretty good but the heat wave hurt.

Google
Food was very good. Service was good. Eating inside was hot. Air conditioning couldn't keep up with all doors open. Gets busy early.

Google
Took advantage of the $12 dozen house oysters during happy hour and it was a fantastic deal! We opted for them raw, and they were incredibly fresh and tasty. Paired them with the Tuna Poke Bites, which were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend both the oysters and tuna poke bites.

Google
Excellent food here. The oysters, crab legs, scallops and fish all prepared perfectly.

Google
A lovely stop off, the Gulf oysters weren't for us. But the Northeast ones offered were lovey. Grouper bites 10/10. Excellent waiter, nice live music and outdoor seating. The main dishes (grouper tacos and the crab stuffed grouper piccata) were fine, but the Grouper bites were a hard act to follow. Definitely worth a stop!

Yelp
I've never tried oysters before so what better place to try them but a place famous for them! I split the order between Rockefeller and Garlic Parmesan....both very tasty but I'd give the nod to the Garlic version. The Chicken Ceasars Salad received a thumbs up from Terri as well. Great live music for an extra fun time...and Danai (sp?) was a great server who, we found out, was a transplant from southern MN a few years back.

Yelp
After an Xmas Concert we wanted a place nearby that was opened late for a bite and a drink. Thought of this place. So, people were friendly at the door. Then the hostess tried to seat us right next to the speakers where the 3 piece band was playing despite plenty of seats elsewhere. So we told her no and where we'd prefer and we sat there. Ordered drinks - they were watered down quite a bit. Maybe just a weak bartender that nite. Got the Veggie Quesadilla and Grouper Tacos. Quesadilla was decent. Tacos were very good. Lots of grilled grouper. Music was pretty decent. Servers were good and quick.

Yelp
I can't wait to come back here already!! My friends and I were placed on a waitlist when we arrived but it went by super quick. The service was great, live music was lovely to listen to, and we got our food fast. I ordered the seafood quesadilla and it was so delicious. They definitely don't skimp out of the portions and the amount of seafood you get! The calamari was one of the best that I've ever had.
google avatar

Rozet S.

Yelp
Great spot for a casual dinner in Siesta Key! We came here on a Friday night and outdoor seating was packed. The band was getting ready to go on but they had plenty of seats inside. We ordered fish and chips and calamari. Food came quick despite how busy it was. Food was solid!
google avatar

Ramona P.

Yelp
So much fun. Great live music. We had every oyster on the menu. We love the grouper bites. Everything was delicious. Wait at certain times is long but it was worth it. Would go back again. The Rockefeller oysters were divine. Waiter was so fun and accommodating.

Yelp
Went back this weekend for the first time since last January and it's as good as I remember! Last time I went during happy hour - they have a steal of a deal, a dozen of their house oysters for only $12!!! This time we were too early for happy hour but ordered Rockefeller oysters, raw oysters, and their buffalo shrimp for the table. It was absolutely phenomenal. One of my favorite restaurants in the Sarasota area for sure!! The ambiance of the restaurant is exactly what you would picture for a restaurant near the beach: live music, dollar bills stapled to the walls inside, casual energy, and plenty of outdoor and patio seating. Can't wait to come back and hopefully hit their happy hour next time!
google avatar

Yelp
While staying in Siesta Key, we heard we had to try SKOB so we popped in for a late lunch after hanging at the beach. Best raw oysters hands down in the area! So fresh and just went down too easy. We also tried their grouper bites which even my kids enjoyed! Definitely recommend both! For entrees we got burgers, SKOB salad, and shrimp tacos. The SKOB salad was so good! The scallops were cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. It was a nice touch how they put their sign on the burger bun. My son said it was great. Shrimp tacos were also fresh and great flavor. If you are in Siesta- this I should be on your list to come for a meal, happy hour etc. It is always busy but food comes out quickly and service is very prompt. It is laid back and a lot of fun!

Yelp
HH. Dollar Oysters. Come. Get. You . Some!! Great spot to grab a drink and oysters!! Fresh! Every time we visit Sarasota this a go to for us! They have live music on the patio and even on a hot day, patio is just fine!

Yelp
We are here again 2 years later with our 2 Chihuahuas for a late lunch on Memorial Day 2024. This time, it was very difficult to find a parking spot, but after driving around for 20 minutes in 90-degree heat, we found a spot. It was like old times. There was live music , lots of fun people , and a nice staff. Our dogs received a bowl of cold water, which they drank immediately. I ordered Fush and Chips, which was fresh and good. My daughter ordered Crab Legs for herself with chunks of corn cob as a side. Hopefully, we will be back next year or sooner.

Joel N.

Yelp
Server was great. Service was very fast. Cool bar scene. Our oysters were average at best. Briny. Fell apart, warm and not good. Ordered a burger next and it was solid. Was really looking forward to SKOB. Kinda bummed.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere and staff. A very cool area to bring your friends when they're in town. The Dollar bills hanging everywhere and the live music makes this a hidden gem. We got here atleast once a month. They have $1 an oyster happy hours which is the best price in town. The wings and Grouper Taco($7 upgrade) are also very good and worth trying. Love this place and will keep going here! Ask for the stapler and market to put your own dollar bill up!
google avatar

Yelp
The food was good, the music was great, such a positive vibe, the staff were very attentive

Yelp
Great service. Great food. This is the place if you love crab legs! Wonderful old bay crab legs! Calamari was amazing with peppers. Would recommend! Live music and great service, our waitress was nice. Restrooms available. Credit/debit accepted.
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
Siesta Key Oyster Bar always on point! Service is always outstanding, with some great music by local artists bringing a great vibe to the bar. The food is way above bar food with some great selections for everyone in the family. Happy hour drink specials with the best price for oysters during this time period. Make this a must stop if you are in town for a short trip or live in the area.

Yelp
Visiting with my buddy who has a place nearby who said we going to Siesta Key Oyster Bar. I somehow conjured a stuffy steakhouse vibe in my mind but place couldn't be farther than that. As we approached could hear live music and once inside met with dollar bills all over the walls. Totally chill beach vibe, outdoor seating as well. We sat at the bar and had beers and amazing oysters. Dinner was great. Fun place, don't wear a tie
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
Four of us ate here for dinner, on Dec 30. It was pretty crowded but we were able to put our name on the waitlist and were called with about a 30 min wait. We were able to enjoy the $12 happy hour oysters which were very fresh & tasty. The reset of palm crab dip was excellent. Use their house Florida hot sauce on any & everything, it's great. Service was good. The blackened grouper Reuben was the best we've had. Delicious. Onion rings were over cooked. The shrimp Po Boy was good as was the Buffalo grilled chicken Caesar wrap.

Gretchen R.

Yelp
Siesta Key Oyster Bar had all the makings of a great island dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell flat. I was excited to try the shrimp tacos, expecting fresh, flavorful seafood, but instead, I was served tiny, canned shrimp--something I'd expect from a cheap diner, not a seafood spot on the Florida coast. It was disappointing, to say the least. The atmosphere was lively, but the service was slow and inattentive. It took far too long to get our drinks, and when the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm at best. The tacos themselves lacked flavor, and the toppings were sparse, making for a bland and underwhelming meal. For a place that markets itself as an oyster bar and seafood destination, I was shocked by the low-quality ingredients. There are plenty of great restaurants in Siesta Key--unfortunately, this isn't one of them
google avatar

Lee C.

Yelp
Server (Zach) was excellent. Everything was good here, but I find the difference in the raw oysters here in Florida is that they don't taste briny. They're all meaty, but it seems like they all are washed before they served so you really don't get that northeast salty taste. It was also very warm inside, even though there are fans.
google avatar

Tori B.

Yelp
This place was so good we had to have it twice on our short trip. The atmosphere is super fun and beachy vibes. They have live music so it's not a quiet place. The service is alway amazing! We got the seafood boil both times and it just never disappoints. If you're in town this place is a must try
google avatar

Gregory C.

Yelp
I was in Sarasota for work and had some time before a meeting--this place was close to the resort I was staying at so decided to give it try. I went for lunch and was sat right away--had an option of outside or inside and chose outside. About half way through my meal they had a live singer. Since oyster was in the name I decided to get some oysters and so glad I did--I honestly wish I got more. For my entree I got the Siesta Key extravaganza which was the right amount of food and came out more seasoned than I anticipated. I give this place 4 stars instead of 5 because the crab cakes had more filling than I would've liked and the service.

Maureen J.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! Oysters were fresh! Drinks were large and made well! Exactly what I expected for its decor! Loved it!

Yelp
At long last, I finally got to try this place out, it was a surprise on different fronts... Every since my first trip to Sarasota last year, I've been wanting to eat here. It always looks so busy and fun, and finally, today, I got to do it. It was worth the wait. Now, seeing how busy it was in the past, we decided to hit it for an early, early dinner - and even so - it was still busy. When we arrived we were happily greeted and promptly sat. The menu is relatively short and sweet and to the point, which is nice. For an appetizer we picked their hush puppies, and for dinner my wife had their quesadilla dinner with a side salad, while I had their chimichurri powerbowl with shrimp. The quesadilla meal came with a white sauce that was something I could not put my finger on - but oh so good. The powerbowl came with a red quinoa I had never even knew existed. Both meals were big and we had to take doggie bags home (all good.) Service was okay - a bit slow at times, but our waitress was very personable and took the time to answer our questions when she was available. No real complaints there. One of the charms of the place are the dollar bills all hanging on the walls, pillars, and ceiling of this place - there must be thousands of them - it is a sight to behold. We left a dollar as well - maybe we'll be back someday to see if it's still there...

Yelp
After a day at the beach it's a perfect spot to grab lunch or dinner I've been here 3 times now I've tried the grouper sandwich and the grouper burger SO good I prefer the burger My husband prefers the melt Or sandwich Its honestly way better than the photo looks And we also had the fried oysters which was a first, also good. The servers are always accommodating and nice I love sitting on the patio and looking out at the street it's a great vibe.

Yelp
As far as Siesta Village restaurants go, this place's food is actually amazing. Their oysters are the best in the game. I recommend either the raw ones or the blue cheese and bacon baked oysters. Our favorite appetizer is the Buffalo shrimp and the grouper bites. But the best entree is their scallops and risotto. It's amazing and the portion is big! Skob is a classic siesta establishment and it gives you those classic Florida vacation vibes. Try to go around 7:30 and sit on the patio, because they always have live music around this time!

Riss I.

Yelp
Food is good, environment is laid back. Music is good. The drinks are solid. Definitely would come back. The crabs legs were amazing.

Marcy D.

Yelp
We've been there a few times and it doesn't disappoint. Perfect for a casual afternoon with a cold drink. They usually have live music. I want to give 4.5 stars
google avatar

Kaitlyn N.

Yelp
3.5 stars. service was terrible, our server was MIA basically the entire time. we've had better oysters and crawfish boil. the tacos were good tho.
google avatar

Liz S.

Yelp
Went for a late night dinner. My husband and I both ordered a sandwich, and then split halves like we normally do Between the grouper Rueben, and the Tuna BLT, we both favored the tuna BLT! Both were sooo good, though. The best part of our dine, was our server Zack. He's been there 8 years and it shows. He was on top of everything. Always popped in to check on us. Gave his favorite appetizer recommendations, which were also yummm! Very sweet & humble guy! Will definitely ask for him our next visit!
google avatar

Bev J.

Yelp
We love the Sunday brunch! Live music and bloody Mary's and delicious skillets! We enjoy dinner also, scallops are amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
SKOB @ Siesta Key Village is a local Hot Spot. A dive bar while keeping it classy. Excellent specialty cocktails, cold craft beers. 21 different kinds I believe. Menu is fresh with local seafood, excellent crab cakes, oysters and so much more. Even natural burgers! I went with the scallops! Excellent! Fresh and delicious. I Highly recommend this dish like my server did with me. You'll love it. There is something for everyone on the menu. live music every day and fun times. That's what they serve up. Come stop by for a cold beverage, laid back atmosphere and excellent food and service.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice restaurant on the siesta key strip. Ordered the street corn dip which was phenomenal though not enough chips for the dip and a burger which was cooked well. Others I went with ordered seafood which they loved. Service was really good too. Inside of the restaurant seemed a bit grungy but we ate outside on the patio so no complaints.
google avatar

Angel B.

Yelp
Dark. Crowded. I felt claustrophobic. Bar tender not helpful or friendly. Thirty minute wait. Our hosts said there are better food spots than this.
google avatar

Carolyn C.

Yelp
One of the most energetic restaurants in Siesta Key Village. The entire inside from top to bottom (maybe even some of the ceiling too) is decorated with pasted $1.00 U.S. bills--super neat backdrop. Such a unique spot with live music, airy seating, a massive beer list and great food. Their food was incredibly fresh--their produce is locally sourced, pesticide-free, and sustainably grown (yum, yum, and yum). We got here late at night but wish we visited earlier to grab their $12.00 dozen oysters on happy hour from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM everyday! Or maybe even on a Sunday Funday when they have an amazing brunch with one complimentary mimosa or bloody Mary?!
google avatar

Patricia L.

Yelp
Today's lunch BLT&A with PBR. The tuna was cooked perfectly however the ciabatta had an odd taste wasn't a fan. The fries are always spot on they have a tempura double fried texture. And you can't beat a $3 PBR on a hot summer day! Tall older male host is never friendly not sure why miss seeing the friendly girls that greet the customers.
google avatar

Nina K.

Yelp
My girlfriends and I were in Siesta Key for a short trip, and stumbled upon SKOB as a recommendation from the hotel staff. We came for happy hour for the $12 a dozen oysters and so glad we did! The oysters were fresh and delicious, the drinks were strong, the bartender friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Shaila P.

Yelp
Siesta Key Oyster Bar was one of the only restaurants we visited twice on our trip. The first time I got the seafood quesadilla which came stuffed with shrimp and crab and a delicious, creamy sauce on the side. It was so filling my husband had to eat the last piece! On our second visit, my husband ended up ordering the quesadilla as well, and loved it just as much as I did! I ordered the Siesta Key Extravaganza the second time and absolutely loved it! The Mahi was cooked perfectly. I also ordered a Lavender Mojito which was made just like I like them. Zach was our server this second visit, and he crushed it! Despite the restaurant being completely full, Zach made sure we had everything we needed and even was able to engage in conversation with us. He was one of the best servers I have ever had! Highly recommend the restaurant if you're visiting Siesta Key. It's busy, but the live music and upbeat atmosphere is one you don't want to miss!

Yelp
A must eat at restaurant if in the Siesta Key Beach area. Food was fresh and really good.

Yelp
Jovial fun atmosphere. Good service. Tasty food. Excellent vibe. All patrons in good spirits. Seated quickly.

Yelp
SKOB BABY! Highly recommend if you are in Siesta Key for vacation. Always live music. It's a Chicago bar, so that's always fun. Great food and decent drink deals.
google avatar

Mariana B.

Yelp
The place has a nice vibe. Staff were very friendly. Margarita was good. Fish and chips was delicious. Seafood flatbread was ok, lacking salt and flavor. Grouper bites was ok.
google avatar

Mark K.

Yelp
A really fun establishment in the heart of Siesta Key Village. An order of oysters on the half shell, and a cold beer hit the spot. Service was excellent. Live music. Definitely will return the next time I'm in Siesta Key.

Yelp
Literally always packed but for good reasons. Arguably the best seafood and vibes in the Sarasota area. after spending a great time at Siesta Beach, we learned about this area and location (part of our research when visiting any other city). It's just 10 min drive from siesta beach but finding a parking spot can be tricky. I have mentioned parking below. Siesta Key Oyster Bar aka 'SKOB' has a casual Key West-style setting. from municipal parking- it's a couple of minutes' walk. there might be waiting (depends on when you get there). We reached there at 230 PM and got the table in 5 minutes. from outside, I can sense a chill-out vibe... dollar-covered ceilings and walls... 2-3 rooms with high tables.. a menu that is as diverse as it can be (go for seafood of course). We ordered- seafood TACOS - 3 tacos with mahi fish (I guess it was Mahi fish, but it keeps changing) Seafood flatbread - so it looked like undercooked pizza, but trust me, each bite was awesome. jalapeno Mango Margarita & beer It's not like dollar bills are there for decoration only- Siesta Key Oyster Bar donated $14,000, taking the bills off their iconic walls, and giving them to Hurricane Dorian relief. and as a tradition - I also stapled the dollar bill with love, leaving my legacy ;) hoping one day would come back and see my dollar bill here. great island bar and restaurant where you can enjoy seafood and live music on their dog-friendly patio. Parking: Municipal Parking, it's free but gets full so wait in one lane for 10-15 minutes, and you can grab a spot. check the parking pic. Also, onsite parking is available but I got Municipal parking, so I did not check theirs.

Yelp
Grouper nuggets are a MUST. The breading on it was fantastic. I'd also recommend the jerk wings. Super crispy and flavorful. We got the blue point oysters to start as well. Clam chowder was decent as well, but it needed a little more zhuzh. Our mains were a bit lackluster but the battered fires and onion rings were good. The cheeseburger was a bit dry and bland. The grouper Reuben lacked flavor from the blackening seasoning. I think my husband and I just prefer it fried.
google avatar

Debbie W.

Yelp
Went there at 4 pm on a very busy rainy holiday weekend. Got seated quickly, waitress was super friendly and accommodating. Food came in a reasonable amount of time. I even converted an oyster virgin. Ordered the oyster Rockefellers. Very good with a hint of heat. Everyone loved them. Will return. SKOB knows their stuff!
google avatar

Julie J.

Yelp
Great place to get together with family & friends on Siesta Key! Music and Amazing menu. We always have Oysters & street corn dip! You won't be disappointed
google avatar

Allen P.

Yelp
Went to Siesta Key and stop here to eat. This is one cool place, awesome people and great food. I got the scallops and risotto and they were huge and delicious. The place was so cool with all the money all over, read the messages on the bills, some are entertaining. Check out this place, it is worth the stop.
google avatar

Ida S.

Yelp
We stopped by for an appetizer and this place was great we opted for frozen drinks that were delicious and the grouper bites that was yummy Plus they had a local musician and great ambiance

Yelp
I've been coming to Siesta Key beach for over 20 years. How have I never been to Siesta Key Oyster bar? This place is wonderful. First of all get there early. On a Tuesday night we walked in a little after five and sat right down. By the time we left at quarter after six, they were up to a 45 minute wait. I think we had five dozen oysters at the table. They were perfect. We had grouper bites we had hush puppies, these were a true stand out! Even the kids fish sticks are not fish sticks. These are hand breaded, mahi-mahi fillets, and they are delicious. The drinks were wonderful. The service was excellent and the vibe was fun, festive and truly beach town. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
Okay, Siesta Key! First night on vacation and we luckily found this spot. While they seem to serve the crowd pleasers, their gems are in their dishes like the scallops and stuffed grouper! Food is fresh, well flavored, and absolutely perfect for a seafood feast. We sat on the deck and enjoyed the live music and atmosphere. Definitely a beach side spot, so very casual attire is welcome. Service was excellent even though it was a busy night. Would highly recommend going- we will probably go back a second time this trip.
