First, the vibes were great! Atmosphere, great!
My server was Alexis and she was great! Super friendly!
The host members seemed a little distracted and could present a little more welcoming.
I started with a Frozen Watermelon Daquiri that was delicious! Hats off to the bartender!
I got the special, House Oysters, Louisiana. They were okay, not much the kitchen could do about that. It was a little unfortunate that didn’t have any Tobasco or Louisiana hot sauce available. I love Cholula but the flavors don’t really match well with the oysters.
I also ordered the Catch of the Day, blackened Golden Tilefish with a side of green beans and red potatoes. The fish was underseasoned and over buttered. The potatoes were simply boiled potatoes tossed in butter and some seasoning. The green beens, albeit fresh which was a plus, they were under seasoned.
Tips to the staff, perhaps alter the menu and make the red potatoes be smashed potatoes, this will give a better texture and flavor with some crispyness. As for the green beens, it seems they’re parboiled, good start, perhaps toss them in the oven to get a little roast and crispness to them, then add a touch more salt. For the fish, less butter, a little more seasoning.
This seems to be a bustling restaurant with a great location. I know my review will probably have no bearing on its success. But I hope they take this critique and adjust. Overall it’s a great restaurant with great potential, but if you desire a better quality dish, perhaps look elsewhere.
