This motel is a wonderful experience in itself! It was remodeled over the past year I believe, and so tastefully! Very clean and comfortable! All the extra details were what made my experience so amazing! Hayden checked us in and was so kind and helpful! They have nice sitting areas outside where you can enjoy the beautiful flowers and decor. We unpacked and went outside to enjoy the nice weather with our glass of wine (wine glasses provided by the motel). Definitely the best motel I’ve ever stayed at. Thank you for such a fun stay!

We had a great overnight stay at the Siesta Motel in Durango this June. The motel is perfect as a stopover if you're on the road, or as a Basecamp to explore Durango, Mesa Verde, and the other beautiful sites in the four corners region. We found our room to be comfortable and well-appointed. The bed was comfy, the decor was cute and up-to-date, and there was a ton of storage for our stuff, which is not always the case in even more upscale boutique lodgings. We appreciated the guest closet, which had all the things we needed, even when the front desk was closed. The gazebo lounge also looked fun, although we didn't get a chance to properly explore, since we were just there for a night. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, even recommending some good pizza spots for dinner. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Durango in the future!

Google
So glad I found this little gem! Booking, checking in/out, and communication was a breeze. The fella at check in was very friendly and helpful- pointing out things to do for the evening (he even whipped out a map). The rooms were so clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. I loved that it was a tad out of the busy. The gazebo/patio area is a nice addition! If you’re looking for a great deal, and safe and clean place, don’t pass this place up! Will definitely be staying here in the future!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We absolutely loved our stay at the Siesta Motel in Durango! Our room was spotless, stylish, and incredibly comfortable—clearly the result of some beautiful renovations. The owners and staff were truly amazing—so friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. We were traveling with our dog and couldn’t have picked a better place. The property was not only pet-friendly, but also located in a safe, convenient area close to everything. Great amenities, great people, and an overall wonderful experience. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

Google
We're so glad that we found this motel on the map and read the reviews. We stayed three nights and loved it. The "instructional" signs around the room were fun to read. It felt like a 50's motel with a modern vibe. Loved our stay here. Best place we stayed in two weeks on the road. Thank you and continue what you're doing.

Google
My husband & I recently stayed at the Siesta Motel in Durango, CO on our way back to TX. It is absolutely the CUTEST place ever!! Although it is a motel, you get nothing but nice HOTEL vibes!! The owners completely renovated the Siesta! The bed was so comfortable! Our room was so clean! And the decor is fabulous!! Everyone working there were so nice, friendly and accommodating! I would give 10 stars if possible! Thank you Siesta Motel for our perfect stay! We’ll DEFINITELY be back!

Google
We really enjoyed our stay at Siesta Motel. We like supporting non-chain businesses and this was perfect. The room was super clean, the bed and pillows were very comfy, the shower was excellent…and my husband loved the pour over coffee in the room. Thank you!!

Google
Five stars all around!!!!! This was the cutest motel with the nicest and funniest staff. Just a good vibe all around. The rooms were clean, the linens were fresh, the rooms were comfortable. I loved this motel. I will definitely be a loyal guest every time I pass through Durango. Thank you :)

Yelp
Great little gem on the north side of town. Room was clean, bed was comfy, and in-room coffee was great. Staff was very helpful and having extra towels and coffee filters on demand was really convenient. Parking lot is a bit cramped for bigger vehicles - we were lucky it wasn't very busy when we stayed with our van (stayed here while taking a couple nights off from camping in the middle of a road trip). Trolley stop is also very convenient if you want to catch a ride downtown. Walkable to Zia Taqueria, which is definitely worth a visit.

Mia G.

Yelp
Clean and comfortable rooms, super cute decor, wonderful amenities! The owners clearly put a lot of thought and love into their motel. It's a wonderful value and affordable. We really appreciated all the touches like the board games, bicycles available to explore on, and easy communication via txt. Definitely staying here again anytime in back in Durango.

Yelp
Dan, Hannah and April are wonderful hosts, they're still working on updating this older motel and are super gracious and conscientious. The beds and fixtures are new and up-to-date, I really enjoyed my stay with the super convienient parking right outside the room. There are some great restaurants within walking distance, and downtown Durango with all its shops and places to eat is only a few minutes away. This is a fun place to stay in Durango!

Jules B.

Yelp
Hannah and her husband are young, and have the energy to take this diamond in the rough and really make it shine. The value is great. The convenience of being able to park outside your room and use a code to open the door is great. Especially on road trips where you don't necessarily want to stop in an office and wait for a key when arriving late at night. Would stay again

Mary T.

Yelp
Shelley was so helpful. We had rv trouble and got to reserved park too late so we called around to find a room . Hotels are very expensive in Durango and packed. Shelley answered and got us the last room in town basically and gave us the door code. Clean and adequate but the customer service by Shelley off the carts! We left dog bowl there and they saved for us the next day. Very nice motel. Convenient location as well.

Sheryl A W.

Yelp
Loved this place, unlike your average corporate motels. Had charm galore, owners and staff were charming and very helpful. Close to everything, the rooms are kitschy while having the amenities you want and need. Bed were comfortable & room was very clean. We enjoyed the outside tables and had some great conversations with other guests. Highly recommend.

Mas P.

Yelp
Sweet little motel. Very clean, great bed, nice owners. The parking is tight. No smoking anywhere on property.

Becky B.

Yelp
Best little surprise for a motel in Durango. Think Route 66 RETRO. Young couple are new owners with old school attitude towards hospitality. Unbelievably clean and bed was most comfortable on our entire trip of Four Corners!

Frank K.

Yelp
I stayed at this property for a single night in July 2023. It's a great little motor inn that's got an old-school vibe and a lot of character. It's very well maintained, and the owners are easy to reach and nice. I'll stay here again anytime I'm in Durango. This gem reminds of the Raton Pass Inn in Raton and the Blue Swallow in Tucumcari.

L R.

Yelp
lovely and cozy, old-style motel. Even had lounger chairs in the room! Very kind and attentive staff.

shelley s.

Yelp
Very cute, clean and affordable. Best bed yet and we have been on the road for 15 days.

Jas G.

Yelp
New owners are very personable and energetic. Room was clean clean and cozy. Great location right off the 550. Unexpected surprises include a cold brewski and cable tv. Will be staying at again.

Lindsay M.

Yelp
Great place for a family road trip stop. We love staying at locally owned motels on our family road trips. This was a repeat stay at Siesta Motel and we loved the new updates. It has recently been taken over by new owners who have put a real personal touch on the stay. They replaced all of the bedding and it is wonderful! We stayed in the two bedroom room and it has plenty of space for a family of four. Hannah, one of the new owners, recommended a great spot for us to eat locally where our kids could run around. We enjoyed having a cocktail on the front lawn space after the kids went to bed. It was a great stay and we will continue to recommend it to our friends and family who travel through Durango.

Catherine K.

Yelp
I have read some previous reviews on this motel and I am not sure why there are a few less than 3 stars on here. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience with this motel! It is a nice, family owned motel and the owners are so nice! We ended up arriving quite late; I received an email earlier in the day asking to call if we were checking in later, I called and we were provided a code to access our room. This was very nice and convenient for us. Our room was small and quaint. Very clean and VERY quiet. Given we had some rowdy motorcyclists out in the cabana later in the evening, we didn't hear a thing. The room has an in wall AC unit that gets the room REALLY cold which is great when it was mid 80s out. The grounds were immaculate and house keeping was wonderful. I would 100% recommend staying here and would come back.

Emily S.

Yelp
I stayed here 7/24-7/27 with my family. What a great motel! The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the towels were fluffy and the beds were comfy. There are a few good eateries a short walk away and it's right near a trolley stop. They will soon have rental bikes on offer. I plan to stay here again on a future visit to Durango.

JL O.

Yelp
Warm and cozy rooms. Each room has its own style and is very clean. All have coffee pots, coffee, and refrigerators. Mattresses vary--both very firm and soft available. Spacious bathrooms. Quiet, lovely courtyard! (No pool or hot tub.) The staff has been there for many years, are very helpful and know what it means to have pride in their establishment, as they take care their patrons! Forget the chain motels, keep the local businesses open! This place is a wonderful and memorable stay!

Ben S.

Yelp
We stayed two nights July 22-23 2022 and we loved the place. Each room is decorated differently, ours had a Southwest theme. The rooms are clean and look newly remodeled. The shower was awesome! Instant hot water and great pressure! We will definitely stay there again the next time we come to Durango.

Phil K.

Yelp
These owners are terrific. They love their guests and know how to show it. So glad we stayed here.

Jack S.

Yelp
Highly recommend this hotel. The owner lives on premises and is always available to help. The room was very clean and comfortable and had all of the right appliances to make it comfortable. This will be our choice of hotels when we visit Durango.

Janice F.

Yelp
Have stayed there several times and been pleased until this last stay. The owners were not in the office when she said they would be even though they are gone for lunch from 11-2pm. Wanted us to pay for a hand towel that wasn't even dirty. Rude!

Mary G.

Yelp
Very expensive for what you get! Furniture and appliances are from the 60's and falling apart. No hot tub, pool, hairdryers or continental breakfast. We had several spiders in the room. They say they are pet friendly but they do not want to see your pet and they don't want your pet seen by other guest. Do yourself a favor and drive right past this motel.

Jerry S.

Yelp
Renter beware, make sure you are 100% sure of your reservation dates as if you need to change or cancel, even 48+ hours in advance, you will be charged $40 to cancel or even change. When I called to question the charge they stated they are a "mom & pop" hotel and need to be able to cover the cost to change reservations. I have stayed a multiple "mom & pop" hotels in Colorado and none have charge $40 if you change or cancel 48 hours in advance. There are plenty of other opportunities in Durango.

Yelp
After reading the glowing reviews I was excited to stay here, especially knowing that it is family-owned. I really wanted to love this place, but was disappointed. Pros: Our room was a good size and the kitchenette was well-equipped. Durango is pretty pricey and we felt the price was good considering the area. The owner gave us good restaurant recommendations too. Cons: When checking in, we were having a great, friendly conversation with the owner. But after a few minutes of good convo, she casually worked some pretty polarizing political views into a couple of comments she made. My husband and I were uncomfortable (and even a little personally offended). We quickly wrapped up the conversation and headed to our room. Regardless of where she (or we) stand in the political spectrum, I believe it was in bad taste for her to make these comments to strangers who were paying for her service. Very disappointed. Also, perhaps because the property is old and the bathroom wasn't equipped for good air circulation, the shower smelled old, acrid, and a bit sulfurous. We could smell it faintly throughout our room but it was really strong and concentrated in the bathroom. Yuck. Conclusion: I would recommend this place to others based on price, location, room size. A good value for the area. Based on my personal experience, I will not stay here again.

Tammy B.

Yelp
Do not stay here!! I read the reviews and was looking forward to my visit. I arrived to check in on the day of my reservation and no one was there. Called the owner who said she's having lunch (at 3pm) and "come back later." I waited half an hour, and when she showed up she was *incredibly rude* and had no COVID protections in place. Why would anyone stay here when there are so many better options in Durango? Try Caboose Motel: very friendly staff, way better rates, and closer to the beautiful Animas River. A much better experience!

Carol J.

Yelp
We stayed at this place last year. Did have a good time. Came Back with different friends this year. The first night was fine, we were tired out from driving here. The 2nd night we had gone hiking all day, then went downtown for supper. We took the bus back and it was such a beautiful night out, we decided to sit outside to visit. We met another person that was staying at the same motel from Alaska, so we were visiting with this person. At 9:45 p.m. the owner, Larry came out in his robe and said we were too loud. Most places we have stayed the quiet hour starts at 10 p.m. plus, we felt we were not that loud anyway. It was not even 10 yet. Probably will not be back here....well, not many stars on this trip...

Monica A.

Yelp
I stayed almost a week here, and loved it. It's clean, cute, quaint and charming, feels a bit like staying in a relatives guest room: homey and comfortable, but with the the nice hotel amenities. The location is convenient and the courtyard is lovely. Would stay again.

Lyndsey W.

Yelp
Road tripping west, made it to Durango at about noon and hadn't booked a hotel. Big brands were booked and/or overly priced. Found the Siesta on yelp and called to check pricing and availability. Reasonable prices and had a room that fit our group. Drove by - so cute, well kept grounds. Booked a two double bed room with kitchen. So glad we spent the extra $10 for the little kitchen. Room was spacious, clean, and beds were comfortable. Owners were very friendly. We will be recommending the siesta to our friends and coming back again!

Bob R.

Yelp
Locally owned! Always accommodating owners, extremely nice, really clean rooms! Love the area to sit outside, comfortable beds! Will stay here again!

Bobbie S.

Yelp
In my experience at this motel, wasn't a great one. I'd give no stars if possible. I called over the phone and asked how much a room for the night would be. I was told $98. Upon arrival at the hotel, I brought up the $98 I was told over the phone, and then was told the room was gonna be $110 so I said that's alright, thinking it was the $98 + tax. After checking my bank account I was charged $125. I had went and brought it back up to the office then were extremely rude. Customer service is inexistent here. I will not be coming back to siesta motel and will not recommend to anyone even if you're just looking for a place to sleep for the night, pay an extra $10 and go to a Hotel.

f d.

Yelp
Dusty, smelly tiny rooms ... Staff doesn't answer phone (nor call back), messaging service on web site doesn't work ...

Richard L.

Yelp
Over rated by others. Just an average motel except No Ice because office is closed and poor excuse for toilet paper.

Johnny V.

Yelp
I'll start off with a note that I am a Marriott Platinum member and stay in various Marriott brands across the country. In 2015, I stayed at the Marriott Residence inn in Durango while on vacation and I was disappointed. Hotel was very worn and overpriced. This year, I deliberately abandoned Marriott in Durango seeking a nice, clean, and economically priced hotel. Found the Siesta Motel, which is an excellent place. We were not going to be in the hotel much and mainly needed a clean place to sleep. The rate was very reasonable, the owner is friendly, and the entire hotel is clean and well kept. This is a Route 66-era roadside motel with quite a bit of charm. Don't expect fancy, expect a clean, nice place at a very good price. Which is why I give a 5 star review. The Siesta Motel delivered. Will stay here again.

Jolene S.

Yelp
What a great find! Looking online for a dog friendly hotel got the usual chain options but they were more expensive than I was hoping to spend. We were on vacation and didn't plan on spending a lot of time in the room. Basically just somewhere to sleep. The siesta motel had good reviews and the price was right. We checked in about 4pm. I waited in the car with our pooch while my boyfriend got checked in. He said the woman in the office was very friendly and helpful. The place is small, and privately owned. Our room was very clean! Yay!! The decor was kind of a southwest, maybe 70's thing? But we loved it! It was charming, the bed was comfy, and did I mention clean?! We had a queen size bed, mini fridge/freezer, and a clean bathroom. Clean is very important to me haha. In our room we had multiple magazines and fliers about local attractions and restaurants. Very helpful! The building is horseshoe shaped with a little grassy area in the middle with chairs. And chairs and benches outside the rooms. We were lucky enough to sit outside on our bench and enjoy a beautiful thunderstorm! Overall a great place! As long as they accept our fur baby, we won't stay anywhere else when we visit Durango!

Cristine O.

Yelp
We had made a reservation for 3nights 9-12 Sept and as a precaution I decided to contact the Siesta Motel to ask about their Covid-19 compliance precautions and what those might entail. Surprisingly I was greeted by a very 'hostile' clerk Julie Hernandez who was quizzing me about my upcoming reservation and stating she could not see us in her system. I let her know that I had just placed it , but the question I had was regarding covid and what if any extra precautions they be taking. She never did answer even after I asked if we could start over allowing for a 'regroup' Ultimately : Her response was for me 'cancel my reservation' if 'I was that concerned' we have a child at home and take precautions every day I was asking so that I feel good about making the reservation! Hospitality industry should never be unwilling nor hostile or rude in making you feel that you made the right decision to book a stay at any time much less given the current environment. We did cancel thank you Julie.

Ryan B.

Yelp
A very cute and clean place to stay. The man at the front desk was very kind! Overall a great place to stay at an affordable cost.

Melora P.

Yelp
A really cute, affordable motel with friendly staff, clean rooms with new carpeting. I got the king bed with kitchenette and had everything I needed to cook and clean up. Nothing fancy, but just right for my two night stay in Durango.

Steve S.

Yelp
Very nice and quaint rooms. Marlene is super nice. Clean rooms. Would highly recommend!!

Ddc C.

Yelp
Nice family owned hotel. The owners are more than accommodating. The rooms have an older feel but they are clean and well kept. This place is so much nicer than the sterile corporate hotels. I recommend this place

Pat D.

Yelp
Great roadside find. Classic motel. Great room. Good price. Well maintained. Free WiFi. Pet friendly. Would like to come back and stay a few days.

Jeff E.

Yelp
Wow. What a find! Wish we had booked more than one night. Great little family owned and operated motel on the north end of Durango. Clean, comfortable rooms, super friendly staff. It's got everything you need and nothing you don't. We're going to make this an annual destination.

Autumn B.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I planned a last minute vacation to Durango, found this place on the internet & noticed it was cheap, but the pictures looked nice. When we got there the owners were very helpful & very nice. Got to our room (king kitchenette) and it was super clean & real cute! Comfortable big bed with own air conditioning. The middle of the motel is a pretty lawn with flowers and a gazebo! I will definitely stay here again & recommend it to others!

Lindsey C.

Yelp
This is the second year in a row my husband and I have stayed at the Siesta. We came in this past weekend for three nights and couldn't have been happier. This is a cozy, clean, hotel and the owners are so friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfy, the courtyard is nice and well maintained, and the trolley picks up a half a block away to take you downtown. We HIGHLY recommend this motel for the quality and affordable price.

Jeff H.

Yelp
Tiny rooms with tv so small you have to sit on end of bed to see it. Just as good, bed is only place to sit. Bath clean but maybe 30" square. Claims to have wifi but was never able to recognize network to connect. Would I stay again??? Not in this lifetime

Karen V.

Yelp
I was in Durango unexpectedly and walked into this little jewel without knowing a thing. It looks like the kind of Mom and Pop motel from my childhood and I much prefer a place with a little character rather than a boring chain motel. They only had one room left: a two room suite with a kitchenette. Since it was late in the day and I was traveling solo they gave it to me at the same rate as a regular room. It was perfect: comfortable firm mattress, great water pressure in the shower that did not run out of hot water, and friendly service. I am also very sensitive to odors, including overbearing cleaning supplies and perfumes. None here. They also provided a coupon for the Durango Diner which was another great find. I'm not giving it five stars because it's luxurious; I'm giving it that for being exactly what I needed from a quaint little Mom and Pop motel.

Jennifer F.

Yelp
Overly accommodating for my late arrival. The woman at the desk was very kind, engaging and even offered up restaurant recommendations. The room was nice, very clean.

Kim A.

Yelp
I have stayed here countless times since moving away from Durango and I'll definitely keep coming back! I don't spend much time in the room (other than to sleep and shower) and why would you anyway in this awesome town?! It's definitely an older style motel (which is why the rooms are on the smaller side) but it's clean and exactly what you need for a stay in town. The room I usually stay in has a refrigerator which is good for leftovers. I'm under the impression the rooms are different depending on what you're looking for but it's usually just me and my fiancé. The price is good - but do remember this is a tourist town so hotels (especially during any peak season or when an event is going on) aren't on the cheaper side regardless of where you stay (unless you stay at one of the hotels in town that aren't clean!). The owners are also very nice! Already looking forward to coming back!!

Kati W.

Yelp
We had a great stay! Super clean, affordable and the beds are very comfy. Not too much traffic either. Also close to downtown! Would definitely recommend!

Caro G.

Yelp
This place was just lovely. For $70/night, you get two queen beds, a kitchenette (mini fridge, microwave, stove with two burners, and cooking utensils/pots/pans/coffeemaker), a comfy chair, a bathroom (shower, no bath), a TV, and a mini dining table with two chairs. And free wifi. It was all clean as a whistle and fresh, with none of that damp feeling that some hotel rooms can have. The heater worked like gangbusters, and I saw an AC unit by the window (though we only needed the heater). The staff was accommodating (their office closes at 6 pm in the winter, but they left the key for us after I called to make a reservation!). It's not fancy, but holy cow it's an amazing deal for $70, clean, cute, and really comfy. The bed was awesome, by the way--I slept really well both nights that I was there. Plus the kitchenette was such a boon--it meant that I didn't have to pay for meals out constantly. It's at the north end of town, so not really within walking distance of fun downtown stuff, but enh--that didn't bug me. If you're in Durango, absolutely stay here!

Susan B.

Yelp
What a fun little place! A nostalgic experience for sure right down to the old fashioned room keys. Had lots of amenities to make your stay perfect - like a little kitchen. Wish we could stay longer. The management was very friendly and welcoming! Might be time to change your mattress' though. But would still come back!
