The staff at Sigiri village hotel were truly outstanding. They were always smiling, and they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant staff were particularly attentive, and the food was delicious. We especially appreciated their flexibility with our meal requests. The concierge was also very helpful in arranging tours and transportation. We would definitely stay here again!"

I do not recommend Sigiriya Village to anyone. They go out of their way to rip you off. The prices listed on the menu seem reasonable at first, but when you check out, they surprise you with hidden taxes and fees that no one ever mentioned. You only find out when it’s too late to do anything about it. When we checked in, we were told (three times) that breakfast was included in our rate. Then at checkout, they denied ever saying that and charged us for it. Completely unprofessional and dishonest. The staff were not helpful at all. You have to literally chase them down to get anything done. There’s no sense of hospitality, and everything feels like a hassle. We also weren’t lucky with our room—there was a constant sound of a leaking toilet all night, the doors kept banging with the wind, and we barely slept. On top of that, the food was mediocre at best, with tiny portions and much more expensive than at nearby restaurants. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences at Sri Lanka. Poor service, hidden charges, bad food, and a total lack of care for guests. Avoid this hotel. There are far better options in Sigiriya.

Had an amazing stay at Sigiriya Village! The staff, especially Nadeesha, went above & beyond to make our trip unforgettable. Nadeesha was super helpful, friendly & made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were comfy, food was delicious & the views were breathtaking. Highly recommend! 👍🏼💕

Had a great experience at the hotel. The rooms were renovated recently and all the ammeties. The rooms are located with a nice environment and have more privacy. The environment is really nice. Visitors can play different games, do cycling, visit agricultural cultivations and walk around the property to explore more nature. The food varieties are average. The buffet spread is okay but could improve more on the spread. The pool needs some repairs since few tiles are broken but it is safe to have a swim since they are not sharp so won’t get any cuts. Overall can recommend the hotel. It was a pleasant stay and the staff was very friendly.

We stayed as a family (5 people) and had an amazing experience. The service was exceptional — everyone was incredibly kind and attentive to every detail. The hotel is a true paradise in Sigiriya, surrounded by nature and offering a very peaceful atmosphere. We felt completely at home. Definitely a highly recommended place for anyone visiting the area. We would return without hesitation!

Staff was very friendly Outdoor parking was available inside the hotel premises (it's like a small village in there) We booked a 'Superior Cottage' type room. The bathroom was clean and spacious. It would have been nice if there were carpets/rugs near the bed and at the entrance to the bathroom. The number of available power outlets in the room was basically zero. You could unplug a few lamps and plug in your chargers and stuff but you would need converters (EU/UK plug types) as the room mostly had the round 3 pin outlets. The bathroom was poorly lit, with just one light above the mirror. The hand shower didn't look clean. The hotel is close to Sigiriya rock, about a 2km walk. But we chose to drive there, as it will be about a 1km walk from the car park. For the price paid, you would expect them to maintain a certain level of quality. And that was not there.

It has a colonial feel and is a bit dated. But the location is fantastic, practically in the middle of a forest.  There are many monkeys and other animals roaming around.  Rooms are large.  Food quality is on par for Sri Lanka. The staff are excellent, knowledgeable of attractions and helpfull arranging tours and taxis.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A magical stay in the heart of Sigiriya! Our time at Sigiriya Village Hotel was nothing short of brilliant. The evening buffet was a highlight — full of authentic local dishes, beautifully presented, and with enough variety to keep our kids happy (and fed!) every night. The pool area is an absolute gem — the perfect place to relax with a drink after a day exploring the nearby wonders. Breakfast was the only area that felt a little underwhelming in comparison — still fine, just not quite as exciting as dinner. But what truly made the stay unforgettable was the staff. Every single person we met was friendly, attentive, and incredibly kind, especially with our children. A huge special shout-out to Sachini, the amazing bartender at the pool and restaurant bar. Her warm smile, genuine kindness, and easy rapport with our kids made a lasting impression. One afternoon, we returned with a coconut we’d found, and she didn’t hesitate — she cracked it open and served it to us with a smile. Little touches like that — and people like Sachini — are what transform a hotel stay into a beautiful memory. Highly recommended for families and anyone wanting a peaceful, welcoming base while visiting Sigiriya!
