very nice experience, staff are friendly and talk Arabic, Turkish and English. we met the owner and he was very nice. the food is fresh and made from a very young and small lamb meat. really liked the bread and the rice. one of the best restaurants in istanbul. don’t miss it. i recommend 👍

This place been here since XIX century. The owner is a fifth generation descendant of the founder. We got there with the food tour, and it was 10 out of 10. If you are new to the local food I definitely recommend a tour guide. Don't miss.

Arguably the best Turkish dinner I had during my stay in Istanbul! I visited as part of an Evening dining experience organised by Zeynep, a local guide! This goes to show why it's worth booking a food tour! You gain valuable local knowledge on the best places to dine and this ranks not just amongst the best Turkish meals I've had but probably one of my favourite meals anywhere! This was a restaurant frequented by locals and tourists alike and it was awesome eating on one of the upper floors with some stunning views of the area! The restaurant had such a wonderful atmosphere! Whilst I loved the Adana kebab, the Tavuk şiş and the Büryan the real star of the show was the Perdeli pilav (rice, chicken, onion and nuts wrapped in a thin layer of dough and topped with almonds! Absolutely divine!) I would seek out this restaurant again if I ever returned to Istanbul! It was amazing!

This is my first ever 5 star rating... By FAR the most amazing place I have been to in Istanbul!!! I am so shocked at how AMAZING the food, service, prices, ambience, all of it was. 100000% recommend if you are looking for a hidden gem, incredible. Wow...!

This place is busy in general and please call or go before 16:00. A bit overpriced, better choices can be made for other dishes, however you should try the following. Authentic tastes from oriental(Arabic) side of Istanbul. Recommended to order 1 portion from each dish. Starters for 2-3 person with share: Lebeni - a bit sour soup but wonderful taste must try. Iraqi Dolma with yogurt - sour / salty veggie (tomato/eggplant/leaf filled) dumplings kilme / boiled kibbeh w/yogurt -haslanmis içli köfte Main course for 2-3 person: Boneless Buryan : 200gr Tandoori Lamb (on tray) can be a bit dry for taste, choose the fatty side. Eat with one cell layer of raw onion and roasted pita bread. Buryan w/Bones: 300gr Tandoori Lamb (hanging) this is pricey but better choice since fatty side with bones holds juice better. Beverages : Double size hot Black Tea with refills(believe me better choice with fatty meat) , Custom made Ayran (yogurt drink) or Sparkling Mineral Water (they call it SODA but plain) Salad: Gavurdag Salad , onions/tomato/cucumber (smallest dice cut)with pomegranate sauce topped with walnuts. Dessert : Kabak Tatlisi Tahinli, Traditional Pumpkin Dessert with Tahinni sauce (baklavas are not recommended in this place ask for guarantee if it is daily/fresh) Service is good, but just eat and go place. Not for long dinners.

OUTSTANDING!!! I can’t explain how delicious the lamb is! And make sure to order the special rice cooked in a dough, everything is good here!!! They also have a separate floor or women. Staff are friendly and smart, very clean everywhere! Close to the Wednesday market!

The food was delicious. The buryan, cop sis, kanat, and spinach soup were all excellent. The yogurt drink was very good.

Definitely a reason why this place is full of visitors and tourists from around the world!! Crispy skin, tender meat, and melting fat. Some of the best lamb ive ever had in my life. For the price, one of the best values of a meal in Istanbul. A huge restaurant kept very clean. Clean bathrooms. Very friendly staff. Will absolutely return.
