Food Quality/Quantity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Price/Value: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Atmosphere: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sikgaek Korean Restaurant and Bar delivers an authentic Korean dining experience that keeps customers coming back for more! From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a traditional hanok village with its warm and inviting ambiance complemented by comfortable booths that set the stage for a relaxed meal. True to many restaurants in South Korea, the staff respects your space, leaving you to enjoy your meal uninterrupted and if you need any assistance, simply press a button to call them over. The staff provided excellent service, they were efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable, ensuring a smooth dining experience by bringing out water and tea ahead of time and serving our order within 10-15 minutes. We ordered the following: 1.) Cream Buldak Ttokbokki – $18 2.) Dakgalbi (Cheese Plate for Two) – $43 Having visited South Korea myself, I was eager to see how these dishes compared to their counterparts from abroad. The Dakgalbi's flavor was initially more subdued than expected but it still stood out as the highlight of the 2 dishes. The gooey melted cheese balanced the spice laden stir fry beautifully, elevating the experience with a satisfying contrast of textures and flavors. Given the generous portion size, we couldn't finish it all and packed some to enjoy later. To my surprise, when reheated 12 hours later, the flavors fully matured delivering the fiery kick I had initially expected. The perfectly marinated chicken and bold gochujang-based sauce finally came to life, making for an even more enjoyable second round! The Cream Buldak Ttokbokki was another highlight, boasting soft, chewy rice cakes that paired beautifully with a smooth, velvety cream sauce. The infusion of Korean spice into the Western-style creamy base crafted a balance between fiery heat and silky smoothness. While both dishes offered great quality and generous portions, the Dakgalbi felt slightly overpriced compared to its value, unlike the well priced Ttokbokki. If you're looking for the best bang for your buck, I’d recommend opting for a different dish over the Dakgalbi. Overall, if you're craving a memorable dining experience with cozy ambiance, attentive service, and flavorful dishes, Sikgaek Korean Restaurant and Bar is a solid choice!

Today was an amazing experience. I totally recommend this place. If you are someone that likes corn and loves cheese. Why not get them together as shown on the photos. 100000000/10 :))

Google
Food and service here is impeccable. We order pork bone soup and Korean fried chicken and they were both delicious. The pork bone soup here never fails. Total comfort food. And the service here is always amazing.

Just attended this place with our family during our trip to Toronto. Overall quite impressed with quality of service and the food. We had the fried rice with chicken on the side along with hotpot (Budae Jungol). It all tasted amazing and would definitely recommend this place for authentic Korean food experience.

I know I am bad mood today so I wanted to eat a lot to feel better. This Korean restaurant is not far away. And I like Korean soft tofu soup. So I came here and was happy to had a late night meal. Their side dishes were delicious. Also the Korean flavor tea. I would say the girl server called Jin she was so sweet and friendly. Her service made this meal better.

We love the boneless chicken (Joseph) and the pork bone soup! Staff is very super friendly and the atmosphere is great. Recommend for folks in the area looking for a dinner spot!

Google
This is one of our most favourite Korean restaurants. We've been going here for nearly a decade and the quality of food as well as service has never deteriorated. We love the atmosphere and decor and the staff (owner, servers, cooks) are all super friendly and helpful. The food is always delicious and we will keep coming back for as long as they stay open.

Nice atmosphere and really good service. Food is really yummy and tastes like comfort food. Loved the pork bone soup and spicy chicken on rice.

Yelp
Our second time coming to Sikgaek. Coming in, this place was cozy and offered privacy which was nice. We were greeted warmly by the servers. We got their donkatsu spicy buldak alfredo omurice, the boneless Joseph chicken and dakjeon. The boneless Joseph chicken (4/5) was crunchy, cheesy and a slightly sweet nutty flavour. The donkatsu spicy buldak alfredo omurice (4/5) was delicious. The spicy buldak rice was balanced well with the creaminess of the alfredo sauce. The egg was cooked well and the donkatsu was crispy and tender. I wish there was more of the omelette because towards the end we were left with a lot more rice and no omelette. The dakjeon (3.5/5) was crispy on the outside with a slight chewiness on the inside. This savoury pancake had cubed chicken throughout but we found the chicken itself was rather dry. The green onion was a good addition to this dish as it enhances the flavour. The dipping sauce had a mixture of saltiness from the soy sauce, a hint of sweetness and some tanginess as well. The side dishes consisted of pickled cabbage, pickled radishes and kimchi. The kimchi was a bit salty for my liking. Although it was crunchy, I was hoping it would be more tangy.

Yelp
We ordered: - Pork Dumplings - Soft Tofu Kimchi Soup - Original Street Food Style Ttokbokki Pork dumplings were okay, I definitely preferred the Kimchi soup and the Ttokbokki over the dumplings! The soup was flavourful and the soft was super soft~ the Ttokbokki was definitely my favourite, it was chewy and there was a good amount of rice cakes and fish cakes available. Overall, I loved the food and I enjoyed everything! ‍ Service: Service was great! There's a button at each table that can be pressed when you need assistance. The servers were super nice, even apologizing for us waiting even the tiniest bit of time (not needed but appreciated!) Ambiance: There were a lot of seats with a few private sections for KBBQ. TLDR: It felt like an authentic restaurant with delicious food and lovely waiters. I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Okay so parking in this tiny plaza is extremely limited which started the experience shaky. There s parking to the rear of the plaza but it also fills up. The individual rooms are fun but are even louder than sitting outside n the main dining area so keep that in mind. servers were good and attentive and there are bells in the rooms to get their attention as needed. The menu is quite diverse, so something for everyone. Banchan was okay. Only 3 served, traditional kimchi, picked daikon and pickled white cabbage. We ordered a pancake which was on the greasy aide but delicious and maybe a a little undergone in the middle. Their omirice was new to me and looked very pretty. house brown sauce was super sweet but grew on me. Fried rice was ok and the egg cover was super pretty. Not sure if the price tagr matched the value here. The Beef Jap Chae was delicious, not a lot of noodles for $20 but a ton of veggies for sure. Very flavourful. The fish cake souo was just disappointing. Literally fishcakes and one each of a lobster fish ball squid fish ball and a shrimp ball. Yes it was only $14 but no veggies other than a sprinkling of green onion, and did not come with a bowl of rice. Overall I think it was passable but other really good options nearby might make a return visit a far way away.

Yelp
The food here was really good especially the spicy candy fried chicken! I would definitly come back here. It is a little pricy but expected for Korean fried chicken places. Nice and clean tables and private areas to sit as well.

Yelp
Really solid Korean restaurant and they stay open pretty late which is make them a great spot for late night dinner or snack! We got their soft tofu seafood soup and the boneless chicken in Joseph flavor. The Joseph flavor is like a creamy nut cheesy sauce. The chicken was crispy but the sauce was very rich and cheesy. Their soup was filled with toppings and pipping hot when it came out. The staff was kind and the food came out fairly quickly! I also love that they have private seating which are separated dividers.

Caroline C.

Yelp
Yummy food! The fried chicken was crispy and had a nice flavour. The boneless joseph chicken was my fav. The gamjatang had a good flavour but wished it was more fall of the bone. The dak galbi was also good but there so much vegetable and not enough chicken for the price. They don't check in on you but if you press the service button, they come promptly. The restaurant is really cute. It reminds me of the hanok village in Korea.

Yelp
We stopped by Sikgaek for a late dinner this past Saturday and fortunately, it wasn't too busy. Several tables are tucked inside these wall dividers which was aesthetic and unique. It also gave us more privacy. We enjoyed this dining experience! There's also call buttons for each table you can press to get a server's attention. The banchan here was pretty standard. There was kimchi (sour, but I liked it!!), radish, and something else that I forgot, haha. We were able to get some refills, too. MOOL NAENGMYEON - 17 This was OK. The broth wasn't very sweet and it was on the blander side, so I just added extra vinegar and mustard. The toppings included pickled radish, cucumber and half of a hard-boiled egg. It didn't even have a piece of meat. It's nothing special and I've definitely had better at restaurants. CHEESE PLATE FOR 2: DAKGALBI - 42 This was the perfect sharable for the four of us since we also got our own entrees. There's plenty of marinated (sweet and spicy) chicken, cabbage, onions, and some dukkbokki and fish cakes. Of course, there was a ring of shredded mozzarella cheese on the side. Make sure the cheese doesn't "overcook", otherwise there's isn't much of a satisfying cheese pull and it just becomes a block of hot cheese. This was tasty and full of flavor since you get a mix of sweet, spicy and savory. It also made my naengmyeon more enjoyable when eating it all in one bite. Overall, decent experience here. I wouldn't recommend the naengmyeon, but the cheese plate was well-enjoyed by our group.

Brenda Jiwon L.

Yelp
Worst experience ever. The food was terrible and we left everything and didn't touch anything. We got the bibimbap which was just full of rice and very little veggies. The sauce was also way too salty to eat. The marinated grilled pork belly was also way too salty, meat was way too thin and we could not eat at all. The pork bulgogi was also terrible. Because we couldn't touch the food at all, we tried to explain our discontent with the manager but he was super rude. We left very angry and hungry and everything was a waste of money. I do not recommend this place if you want Korean food.

Sunny W.

Yelp
FOOD | Came for a friend's birthday and heard good things about the omurice on Google Review! It was one of the more expensive items on the menu, and it was actually a little salty because I got the plain version ($16). I think if the omurice came with the meat add-ons, the meat would help with some of the saltiness from the cream and sauce. Get the spicy rice -- it's actually got a decent amount of heat! AMBIENCE | Love the interior here -- there are wooden panelled booths that semi-close you off from the rest of the restaurant and makes the restaurant seem more authentic. SERVICE | There is a call button at every table so that servers can be called once you're ready to order. Other than that, they do not often come to your table to check on you or refill banchans. VIBE | I think it's a good place for a group dinner!

Yelp
Been here several times now for years. One of my go-to Korean restaurants in the city. And since pandemic, have ordered take out and delivery! ATMOSPHERE: Casual dining atmosphere. Love all their hand drawn/written menus with cute illustrations peppered around the restaurant. There's a row of rooms (fits up to 6 people), and an open dining area as well. Accommodates small or large parties. Not too much parking though; they are part of a very small strip mall, so while there is parking - there's a chance you have to park further if lot is full. SERVICE: Service is pretty relaxed here. They are friendly enough, but only come when called. Sometimes during busy service hours, they do require a couple of calls using the button (at your table/room) - or one of us had to get up and flag someone. PRICE: Average to other Korean restaurants in the area. FOOD: They have a large menu with all the usual offerings of a sit-down Korean restaurant. But what do they do above the rest? KFC (aka Korean Fried Chicken)! Their KFC is the BEST: Incredible crunchy exterior with moist meat and great seasoning. Padak is my go-to flavour! They also have a great cold noodles, and their Gamja Tang (pork bone soup) has a version served with glass noodles (instead of rice). For take out they take orders by phone, but also take out & delivery via food apps: UberEats, DoorDash, and Fantuan (currently 15% off)

Danthanh L.

Yelp
Portions are realllly too small. Do not order delivery through them. Example of how small a seafood soft tofu is. Removing them from my Uber Eats list, very disappointing.

Yelp
Decent option for Korean food in Mississauga! Let's start with the food... The Ginseng chicken soup (Samgyetong) deserves the hype among other Yelpers. The soup is made with a whole Cornish hen, so it's full in flavour and consistency. The sticky rice helps make it feel less soupy and more substantial. The Ginseng isn't as strong as what you'd get in Korea but I find it more suitable for North American tastebuds (such as my own). The japtang was decent. The flavor of the hot sauce / soup was spot on and the texture of the rice cake good, I'd order it again. The Ttokgook (rice cake in soup) had perfectly cooked rice cakes and milky white bone broth - left a great first impression on everyone. The Korean fried chicken in Yangyum sauce was as good as others say. The fried chicken itself is nothing to write home about but the sauce really was flavourful (I found it to have a slightly fermented aroma - like the stinky tofu mentioned in my other review, without the foulness). The ambiance and decor is above average for Korean restaurants. I really liked that half of the restaurant was allocated for private stalls / booth seating. I took away one star because as friendly as the waitresses were, they were not very efficient (perhaps understaffed?). It was a pretty busy Tuesday evening and we had to wait longer than usual for even simple requests like water. Will return for the food and ambiance!

Fontaine M.

Yelp
There is no doubt in my mind why this restaurant is highly rated. The available seating is limited given COVID restrictions but you feel extremely safe. Pretty much everyone gets their own enclosed booth. You ring a bell for service which on the most part was prompt and friendly. We definitely over ordered a bit because everything was sooo good. We had the classic chicken cheese plate - chicken was tender and flavourful. It went amazingly well with the Makgulri (rice wine). We also had the seafood pancake and some appy kimchi etc. The drinks were served in these copper bowls which supposedly was the traditional way to drink and everything felt super authentic. Definitely a must visit for Korean food lovers!

Aaron L.

Yelp
Amazing spot for authentic and tasty Korean food in Mississauga. The interior decor feels really cozy, we were seated in one of the many private dining rooms along the side which feel really nice and intimate. Despite being hidden away in there, service was friendly and attentive. We ordered the spicy chicken with cheese (cheese dakgalbi) for 2 and the honey chicken wings as a side. Didn't end up finishing the latter because the portions for the former were more than enough along with the included ban chan. The price was good quality of the food was great and definitely felt satiated after the meal. All in all a great experience, will definitely come back to try more of their dishes.

Maya L.

Yelp
Second time coming here, this time got the spicy chicken with cheese river. Overall a decent experience, the portion was enough for two people. I Personally thought the chicken lacked some flavour. It was a bit blend, the only flavours I really got was a bit of spice and salt. Everything else in the plate was very well seasoned. This dish also took a very long time to arrive. I would recommend getting their fried chicken instead! Great flavour and good portion!

Maria Theresa D.

Yelp
I went yesterday with my friends for a Tuesday dinner. Just found out about the restaurant because it was the one nearby. Initially did not know what to expect but there have been some good reviews. My rating: The ambiance and seating: 5/5 we got a seat in the booth for three of us even without a reservation. It was nice and private. Also they have a button you press to call the server. Price: 2/5 I think that it is kinda pricey for the amount of food. Or maybe it's the inflation kicking in. Flavour of food: I asked the server a non-spicy soup and she recommended the Tookbaegi Bulgogi l, I would rate the taste as a 3/5 as I prefer more sour taste for soups. We also ordered an Uncle Joseph Chicken as it was recommended as a popular dish, to be honest, it was not my favourite and I would rate it a 2/5 for the taste because maybe I was expecting more cheese and just my preference. Staff: they were friendly and I would give a rating of 4/5. Overall, my rating is a 3/5 average and we didn't try much in the menu but feel free to check them out if you're around the area.

Yelp
My rating is 4.5. I'm rounding up. My manager seems to be in needy mode. Normally, on Fridays, a bunch of us go out for lunch. For a number of months, he has been unavailable on Fridays. So, we dropped asking him. A couple of months ago, three of us did a pot luck at work. When we met him in a lunch room, he asked us three times where we went for lunch. We were at work. He insisted that we invite him to wherever we were going. Um, okay. Anyway, he asked where we were going on Thursday. I have been so busy that I never thought about it. He invited himself and wanted Korean. Okay, cool. He mentioned one place in Mississauga. I did a search and it was permanently closed. That's why my friend and I tend to organize these lunches. We do research. I have had Sikgaek flagged for eons. I suggested that we go. Yes! I drove my intern and our manager over. I realize why we don't like having lunch with him. He has a weird control issue. "Google maps says to go down the road that we were on," he mentioned, being a backseat driver while I drove us. "I'm not using Google maps. We are taking a different route," I replied. I got us safely to this restaurant. I backed into a spot practically in front of the restaurant. I took a photo of the storefront and my manager's head was in the shot. I have never said, "Get out of my shot!" to anyone. Perhaps I had grown tired of his backseat driving. He got out of it. I have his huge head in a photo that I can use to my advantage down the road, if need be... haha! We got a quiet, intimate booth. Our server was nice. It's gorgeous inside. I love the teapots dangling from the ceiling. I also liked the cute menu artwork everywhere. When I see ramen on the menu, I am sold. We decided to go family-style with our food options. We each chose an item and decided to split the bil. I ordered the shrimp ramen with cheese. My former intern, who is a friend, told me to add cheese to my ramen. She told me to trust her. I did and do. I also wanted to try the Korean fried chicken. We all decided to do half fried and half with yangnyum sauce. My intern always likes an appetizer. We are similar in that we enjoy trying something new. He wanted a pancake. We looked and went with the veggie version, yachae jeon, which is a traditional pancake with onions, green onions, egg, and assorted veggies. I liked that we decided together and ditched consensus from our manager. I saw on the wall a graphic of strawberry soju. I asked what it tasted like. She said it's kind of like vodka, but with "low alcohol." We found out that it has 13% alcohol. I wonder what a high amount of alcohol is to this woman! My manager panicked, as he can't handle alcohol. The rest of us were fine. The strawberry soju was yummy. We had it in tiny shot glasses. I liked the strawberry flavour and it wasn't strong. The food came out fast. Our shrimp cheese ramen came out first. It was so good. That spicy broth is amazing! The cheese is yummy with the ramen. I loved the full shrimp. It comes with the shell and head on, so there's a bit of effort required to eat it. It was perfectly cooked. We got the yachae jeon pancake next. I did the honours of using the scissors to cut it into six wedges. Yummy! My manager does not like green onions. Give me green onions and onions with some crispy parts, and I am hooked. It was bland if you eat it alone. It came with this kicked-up sauce, which was great. My intern and I actually dipped the pancake into the ramen broth. So good! We got a free dish. I appreciated that gesture. It was steamed egg with green onions on top. Yummy! I used to not love steamed egg. However, with the dipping sauce that we had and the soju, it was delicious! The fried chicken came last. It was my first time having Korean fried chicken. It won't be the last. Both the fried and yangnyum chicken was juicy and crispy where it should be. The fried tends to be bland compared to the flavourful, saucy yangnyum. The latter had a bit of smoky flavour and a slight hint of spicy heat. We all liked it more, although the fried chicken is great with the spicy sauce that we got with our pancake. Everything is! I originally wanted to try the hot pot. However, my manager didn't want all of us to dip into the same pot. Fair enough. I don't want what he may have, either. I will need to come here without him to give the hot pot a try. I also felt like I needed my own bowl of cheese ramen with shrimp. I felt incomplete and wanted more of that yummy goodness. The reason for an almost perfect rating? It's pricy. We ordered three dishes and a small bottle of soju. Our bill came up to $83 after taxes. To me, I'm down paying more for delicious food. I just felt bad for my intern to shell out that much. Luckily, he is happy to experience new food and he didn't mind paying a bit more for this experience. We had no problem finding a parking spot at noon on a Friday. Delicious! (430)

Yelp
My first time to this cute little restaurant in Mississauga. We were seated into a private booth for our party of 3. We ordered our food and we didn't have to wait long.. we started with the fried dumplings and fries which were pretty good! The Japchae with beef was very tasty but the chicken was the star of the meal.. It was my first time having Green Onion Chicken but the chicken was very moist and had lots of flavour and the Honey Sauce Chicken... well what can I say? It was amazing! The sweetness of the honey on chicken was so good! Overall it was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back to try out the other dishes.

Claudiu P.

Yelp
Very nice place although the outside does make it seem quite small. Once u enter u have the options for a table or a booth, I definitely recommend the booth since it gives u a private experience for your party. The chicken in the picture is what we ordered and its the best chicken I've ever had in my life, literally not even joking, this was the best chicken my lips have ever tasted.

Mellanie P.

Yelp
Abundance of options and open late! Perfect for groups or just small dates, and even if you're alone. Got to sit in one of the booths! Pretty cool l, get nice and cozy eating our meal. We tried two dishes- the squid and pork bulgogi dupbap, as well as the Japtang ttokbokki. We added ramen to our spicy rice cake dish and it was perfect. They provided three side dishes with the meal, bean spouts, kimchi and picked cabbage. I wouldn't say it's the cheapest menu, but I'd say fair with portion sizing.

M R.

Yelp
Pork Bone Soup with glass noodles? Yes, please. Delicious! Will be back. For seating they offer regular tables and private booths.

Joyce L.

Yelp
An average korean chain with decent food. The pork bone soup is watered down, fried chicken is not flavourful, the bibimbap in the stone bowl was SUPER disappointing, spicy pork came out cold... We had to request the server to reheat the bibimbap just so it would sizzle ... when it was served the bowl was COLD!! Grilled Galbi was dry and wayyy over cooked..The only reason I keep coming back is because their kimchi is to die for! Whenever I'm craving kimchi I would purposely drive 40 minutes to come here and also buy some to take home with me. Sikgaek makes kimchi fresh and sell it to consumers! Staff here are also very nice. The washroom facility is kept nice and clean. It's definitely worth the mission for Kimchi lovers, just don't expect food to be great.

G G.

Yelp
The best haemul pajeon. Crisp on the edges, soft but not gooey in the middle. Delicious! Gamjatang. Not quite fall off the bone but still delicious, good broth. Haemul sundubu jjigae. Packed with soft fluffy tofu, satisfying broth. Doesn't seem like much but it's definitely enough. The banchan is blah but the food was so good that I cannot detract from the 5* rating.

Henry L.

Yelp
The pork bone soup was still alive and kicking, tough as tough mudder. Potatoes must be scarce as I was served 3/45 of a potatoe. This may be the last time I go which deeply saddens me. :(

Val Y.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night and they had a whole two sections of empty tables. We still had to wait to be seated for about 35 minutes. They take reservations. Later on in the evening, they filled up the two empty sections. Was seated in one of the private rooms which was nicely decorated. Ordered the hot stone bulgogi bowl which was not that tasty, lacked meat and had a lot of onions. The rice was not crisp to the bowl $13. I wouldn't order again. Also ordered the pedal, fried chicken with onions. Tasted faintly of sesame oil. The skin was crisp. Small half portion for $20 and while for $30. Not a good deal, you can't mix and match the flavours. I would not recommend. You can get better and cheaper elsewhere. However, I highly recommend the pork bone soup with glass noodles and spicy broth. Broth was a bit thyicker than water, which I like!!! It comes with rice and costs only $20. It came with a lot of bones which had a lot of meat. It also came with a potato chunk. It can feed two people! Came with four bowls of free appetizers. I liked the stainless steel utensils, bowls and cups.

Stanley K.

Yelp
Overall positive experience. Food came out promptly. Only downside is the inability for the bill to be split. For visitors, this is something to keep in mind.

Lim T.

Yelp
Finally made it here today! My friends and I had planned to come try this place back in December but due to poor weather condition we had to cancel. But today was a perfect day to drive out to Mississauga since we are all coming from Markham. It's nice to come to a new place with a big group so that we can order more dishes to try. Here are all the dishes that we ordered: 1) Fried chicken with onions - perfectly done! Must try!! 2) Soon Tofu with seafood - nicely done! 3) Cheese DakGalBi - interesting dish...spicy chicken with cheese...Korean cheese fondue! 4) Beef Bulgogi - pretty good 5) Kalbi (beef short ribs) - I've had better so I probably would skip this dish next time 6) Donkatsu (Pork breaded cutlet) - nothing special 7) Pork bone soup - just okay We definitely liked the fried chicken and the spicy cheesy chicken. It's a little far for us to come back anytime soon but we'll be back!

Yelp
I have fond memories for Sikgaek, as I had a very pleasant experience at here before. Unfortunately, this time simply did not compare. The food was decent, but the service was pretty poor. I absolutely love their banchan, particularly their pickled radishes and seasoned bean sprouts. In the past, they were very kind and perfectly fine with us requesting seconds; however, this time, the waitress had quite a bad attitude when we did so. She was also fairly slow at providing essential items (e.g., napkins). Food wise, the quality had remained mostly the same. Their fried chicken is still very crisp and not greasy by any means, and is a very generous portion. We ordered a whole fried chicken with the spicy sauce on the side, and the chicken was very juicy with a crisp batter. I also tried their soybean soup, which arrived with a delicious fragrant smell of seafood. There were many tiny pieces of octopus in the broth, but I was sad to see only one shrimp in the soup. My dad got the gamjatang or pork bone soup, and his main complaint was that there were many bones, but not much meat at all. We may still return, but I'm beginning to prefer Song Cooks, as it has more variety and service appears to be more consistent there.

Yelp
Husband and I wanted to try out a new Korean place in Toronto, and it was a success! The moment you walk in, you see a case on the right that displays old Korean toys, books, and snacks. The inside of this place is like an old Korean jumak with separate "closed" booth seating and open table seating options. We ordered dontaksu and japtang ddukbokki. The donkatsu was very tender but crispy on the outside. The japtang ddukbokki comes in a pot with a small burner so it can boil as you eat. The japtang ddukbokki was good, but honestly it was a bit overpriced for what the portion and the ddukbokki ingredients. It was still good! Another down side(?) of this place is the lack of banchan. They only gave us three banchan (kimchi, bean sprouts, and pickled cabbage). :( Other than that, the place was satisfactory with great service and good Korean food. It's on the pricier side but a place we'll come to again. :)

Yelp
Great place to get Korean Cheeseeeee dakgalbi in Mississauga! Alll sorts of korean food available as well, such as fried chicken, Gamjatang, but famous for their big plate of dakgalbi to share. Comes in a huge hot plate with a rim of cheese ring with spicy stir fried chicken in the middle. Great to share with 2-4 people! The joseph fried chicken was good too. It was a cheesy style deep fried chicken drizzled with sweet and spicy sauce, super crisp! Cheese Dakgalbi Joseph Fried Chicken Fish Cake Soup

Yelp
Had a family dinner at Sikgaek. This was my first time. The restaurant inside has a lot of cute decor and menu. Each table is inside a little private room. Orders can be made by pressing a button. Dinner came with four sides. Kimchi, daikons, pickled cabbage and bean sprouts. the Daikon cubes was especially yummy. I even asked for kimchi and daikon refills. We ordered galbi pork belly, pork bone soup, tofu soup, fried chicken and squeeze and cheese. Food was delicious. Except for the pork bone soup. We had better ones before. It's a bit odd but not one dish was spicy for us at all. Typically korean food is quite spicy. We love the privacy of our room. This place is good for small parties. We didn't have any alcohol, but the environment would be great for it. Food is a little more pricy than casual korean restaurants. I would come again!

Yelp
If you're looking for a good and authentic Korean place, Sikgaek is the best option. The foods and service never fails me once. I've tried different foods every time I come and they were always good. Today, I ordered Korean Pancake, Pork bone soup and Spicy Squid on Hot Plate. The Pancake wasn't oily like other place, the sauce was going well with the pancake. The spicy squid was pretty good, squid was fresh, the spicy sauce was mild ( bc we asked for it) wasn't oily and salty like other places. And the pork bone soup came with huge bones which have a lot of meat. The broth was absolutely tasty. You got the right amount of foods from what you paid for. Service was fast and they have private seating as well.

Yelp
Sikgaek is the place to be for Korean good in Suaga. It was busy and buzzing. Waited for 30 mins to be seated. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Decor is great and love the hand drawing like decor/menus on the wall throughtout the resturant. The Gam ja Tang was great the soup was thicker than most place which I liked. Came with 3 bones which is decent size. The bibimbap was decent size but was quite bland this was our least fave dish. The KFC was great got the half and half. The green onion was a hit, it was different from other places as the chicken was breaded. Gave a good crunch and crispiness I liked. The other sauce one was a little too sweet for me but it was decent. The seafood pancake was great as well and flavorable. Overall was quite surpisee by Sikgaek and would love to come back when I am in the area.

Yelp
A friend of my sister's recommended for the group of us to try out one of her favourite Korean places in Mississauga. We were skeptical at first since we've never heard of this place and we didn't trust her taste in food LOL. We arrived on a snowy Saturday evening for dinner and were able to snag a private booth. The booth has a doorbell so it's easy to call a server over if we needed something. We started off with the sweet and spicy fried chicken as our appetizer. As for the main, we ordered the pork bone hot pot with glass noodles, sausage, spam, enoki mushrooms, and pork bones to share with extra ramen noodles on the side. While we waited for our food to arrive we shared their complimentary little dishes of bean sprouts, kim chi, and pickled radishes. Food came out pretty quick and tasted great! Service was pleasant and attentive throughout. The only thing to note on weekends is they do not split the bill. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Yelp
We ordered a fried chicken, dakgalbi, bulgogi, soft tofu kimchi & seafood, cold noodles & omurice! All the dishes came out super quick and also fresh! Nothing was too salty. We expected the omurice to be different and it was a little bit spiced than what we expected but tasted overall really good. The fried chicken was made super fresh and the soondubu was just so tasty! Would recommend to try this place out if you haven't tried before!

Yelp
Service and food are not good, ordered pork born soup and bud light. The best bud light I ever have. If you want good Budweiser go there.

Yelp
Food very good. Somewhat pricey but quality solid. Recommend the pork bone hot pot. Perfect for sharing

Yelp
Charming Korean restaurant. The food is tasty and the service is welcoming. I have eaten here several times with friends and family. Make sure you try their cheese dagkalbi, cheese corn, and the Korean fried chicken. This is one of my go to places for chicken variety.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and the food is bomb. The booths are isolated and friend chicken was fresh and delicious. Check it out if you can

Yelp
Pros: - Spicy kim chi, one of the best I've had yet! - Quick, courteous service. God I love tables with a call button - Wide variety of items on the menu Cons: - We ordered the Cheese Dakgalbi and they 'forgot' the rice cake. The waitress mixed around our dish and claimed they were in there, but hidden. Only once we put her on the spot and asked her to uncover them for us did they agree to give us rice cake at no charge. This could have been an honest mistake but I'm curious to know if anyone else has experienced this. - On the pricier side. 1 order of Cheese Dakgalbi and 1 side of rice came to a total of ~$50 - I've had better Cheese Dakgalbi elsewhere. I wouldn't come back for this dish but would try another dish to give them a more well rounded review.

Yelp
What is the hype all about? We visited and tried their "signature" KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN. And left sooo disappointed. It is pretty much chicken parts dipped with probably egg & breadcrumbs. Yikes. Never again. I suggest people to just drive 5minutes from this place and go to 'THE FRY' instead (Dundas & Tomken area) and get superb chicken + free buttered corn on skillet + sides. Although it's nice that they offer, small serving of appetizers like any other Korean restaurants do.. like, pickled veggies, kimchi, tofu.. And I'll also give them a point for good spicy chicken in hot stone bowl ($13). Although still, nothing extraordinary. Would I come back? Probably not.

Yelp
Sikgaek tries to offer something different than other Korean restaurants in Mississauga by being a restaurant bar kind of plaxe and while we only sampled two dishes, it was mostly good with one hit and one miss. The highlight of the meal was the spicy pork belly and squid dupbap which arrived sizzling hot. It was delicious and was absolutely packed with pork, squid, and crunchy onions. The rice at bottom of the bowl was delightfully crunchy and nutty and it wasn't overly spicy with just the perfect amount of sweetness. The meats were tender and overall, we really enjoyed this dish and would recommend it. The banchan here was also pretty good. Their kimchi is excellent. Crunchy, spicy and sweet. Bean sprouts were also crunchy and had a deep sesame oil taste to them. The fried chicken was a letdown. I was really excited to try their fried chicken but while it was extremely crispy (they use panko bread crumbs instead of a more traditional batter), it was mostly tasteless and way too dry. Most of the pieces were chicken breast and needed some more salt due to the thickness and depth of the chicken. Perhaps it would be better to order the chicken with some sauce to make up for the tasteless chicken. Fortunately it's a pretty easy fix, and if they do that, then the chicken easily becomes passable. Service was fine, neither rude nor super nice but efficient and we had no problems with them and gave us everything we needed with the extra banchan and the takeout box.

Yelp
The food are great with many menu choices. The Bulgogi is on the sweeter end. The green onion chicken is definitely an interesting one to try with generous portion. Soups are nice and flavourful with lots of seafood and kimchi. Overall the taste is little more on the sweeter end but delicious and flavourful.

Yelp
Great Korean restaurant and super friendly staff. Food was really good and recommended. Parking can be tight especially for dinner. If you can't find parking even in the back you might be out of luck. If you made reservations for dinner then try going early to find parking.

Yelp
Great place to satisfy those Korean food cravings. It's bit of in a weird small plaza with limited parking but as long as you get there around their peak hours, then you'll be good. They have a wide range of foods, from soups to fried chicken. We ordered the cheese dakgalbi, japchae, and chicken wings with fries. Food was great! Dakgakbi wasn't too spicy, which was good for my mom who doesn't handle spice well, and the chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. It's a bit pricier than other Korean restaurants but I'd say it's well worth the price, taste wise. Proportions could be a bit bigger. It was a good experience overall and would recommend trying it out if you're in the area.

Yelp
Thank you fellow Yelpers, I would have never tried this place if I didn't check the reviews first. This corner gem gave such a delightful experience. I super love the intimacy this place has to offer, it was great, we had our own separate booth with wall dividers. As per most Korean restaurants with this format there was a bell so no need to worry about waitress not checking up , just ring that bell and someone will come in and check what you need. Based on the other reviews, I was well tempted to try the Fried Chicken, and boy oh boy was I ever satisfied! The crispiness, the flavors so delish, I order the marinated fried chicken however got the sauce on the side to ensure the chicken would remain crispy. I am going to have to say by far the best Korean fried chicken I have ever tasted. We also order the famous korean dishes, pork bone soup and beef bulgogi. All very satisfying. I am excited to go back here maybe with for a mothers day lunch or dinner, I know my family would love this place.

Yelp
Meh. Never read that before, huh? Service was great. Nice interior, I like the booths. 17 bucks for spicy chicken hot plate, expensive. Terrible heartburn and dirty burps for hours...

Yelp
This was my third visit here so it was high time for a review! We got the Half YangNyum + Half Pa Dak with sauces on the side because there was a baby with us, and it was so good! It was also my first time trying the ddeokbokki hotpot, which came with fish cake, glass noodles & fried mandu in a spicy broth with melting cheese on the sides! I usually don't go for ddeokbokki because the rice cakes seem bland, but stewing in hot broth made them SO delicious! Have definitely been thinking about it since then... The restaurant itself is really cute, divided into little rooms giving it a small town street kinda vibe. Servers are very attentive & happy, willing to accommodate special requests. I haven't tried much else from their menu yet, but will definitely be back for more soon!

Yelp
+.5 for service Ate here for dinner before my flight back to Winnipeg. My parents and I were in the Square One area, and wanted to eat somewhere close to the airport, and a quick Yelp search brought this interesting place up. The place wasn't too busy at 6pm, but it quickly filled up as we dined. It's been a while since we dined at a Korean restaurant, so we took a bit of time looking at the menu. At the end, we ordered a seafood soontofu and the sliced brisket BBQ for two. It didn't sound like a lot, but I wasn't really too hungry as I had lunch about 3 hours before. We noticed a lot of tables ordered the fried chicken as we were waiting for our food, so that's definitely gonna be on our list next time. Regardless, the food that we ordered was really good. The brisket was juicy and had that nice sweetness that I'm accustomed to in Korean BBQ. The soontofu was about what I expected, it's hard to really go wrong with this to be honest. Service was good, though sometimes you had to manually wave someone down instead of pressing the button, especially the couple of times they were busy due to the place filling up extremely fast. Definitely will go for the Korean fried chicken next time I dine here.
