Silent World Dive Center

Arriving at Silent World we were greeted immediately by very kind staff. We chose to do the discover scuba diving since neither of us have experienced it before. Our instructor Michael went over diving instructions and gave time to understand and ask questions . Then we got fitted of equipment and headed to the pool. Michael was extremely patient and helpful. Making us feel comfortable getting used to going under the water. We then headed off to the ocean. He had all of our equipment ready . Our first jump into the water and he gave us encouragement and patience to make adjustments before we went underwater to see the amazing sights. I cannot say enough about how professional, kind, knowledgeable and patient he was. Definitely made our first experience scuba diving amazing.

Great snorkel trip! Captain Aaron and first mate Jolisa were fun, helpful, and entertaining. We saw beautiful coral and all kids of colorful fish. The Jesus statue was also pretty cool, and covered in coral. Highly recommend! Please note, if you’re a mediocre/weaker swimmer, you’ll have more fun on a day when the water is calmer (not stormy).

This was our second visit to Christ of the Abyss and the Key Largo Dry Rocks and it was our best experience! Captain Aaron and Ashlyn were awesome and made sure we knew all about the boat and safety information. They were professional and made us feel at ease. It was a manageable sized group and we didn’t feel cramped or unable to see what we wanted at the reefs. We have snorkeled with quite a few charters and definitely recommend Silent World as their boats are incredibly well maintained and their staff is top notch!

We did a two trip snorkel trip with Captain Aaron and first mate. The trip was excellent, it was reasonably priced, the crew took excellent care of us, we didn’t have to worry about anything. Free snacks and pop and water. The time in the water was perfect, and the sights were incredible. The boat was well maintained and comfortable. The check in staff were helpful, polite and fun. Next time I’m in Key Largo, I’m back on one of their boats heading another amazing adventure!

My husband and I are visiting from New Hampshire. This was our 1st dive since 1997. The staff, captain's and guides were ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC!! We were with other people on the boat, but there was only 1 other couple in our dive party. The boat was large, plenty of room. They supply water, sodas, and chips. The shallow dives were along beautiful reefs. Tons of fish! Beautiful sponges and corals. We saw 4 eagle rays and I saw one small reef shark. The guides and captains help you when you need it but are not overbearing. It was one of the most enjoyable dives I've been on despite having some issues with my mask (my own personal equipment). I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great dive!! My only regret was that I did not have my underwater camera ready. But I did take pictures from the boat. Stunningly beautiful water!

Our family of four—including our 10-year-old twin daughters—joined my aunt for a two-stop snorkel trip, and it was an unforgettable experience. From check-in to getting fitted for gear and boarding the boat, the service was seamless and welcoming. The boat itself was clean, comfortable, and clearly well-maintained. Captain Rob and his first mate were fantastic—professional, clear, and approachable. Our daughters had only snorkeled in shallow water before and were a bit nervous about going from a boat, but the crew’s calm guidance gave them the confidence to dive right in. They ended up loving it and can’t wait to snorkel again! We had plenty of time in the water at each stop, and the sights were stunning. Snacks, water, and soda were also provided, which was a nice touch. We made some wonderful family memories, and I can’t recommend this experience highly enough.

Amazing diving center! Staff were very polite, the place itself is very welcoming, and everything was explained very understandably. We came like 30 prior to check in, but the people at the front desk were really nice and let us check in once we came. The boat is very clean, the captain and the captain’s assistant were also very polite. The 2 spots they took us to were absolutely amazing! The variety of different fish - from bright to dull were very fascinating. Would recommend to anyone going to Isla Morada!!

We had the best time snorkeling with Silent World. Everyone is very friendly, welcoming, professional, and super nice! When you walk in, they will fit you with the correct mask & fins. No need to pre- sunscreen as they have a sunscreen station with reef approved sunscreen. The gift store has awesome merchandise including a Go Pro rental for taking under water pics. This wasn’t advertised enough but it includes the SD card and is a great deal to save you some money. The snorkeling team is super nice and the whole experience is very safe as they make sure to count off and check in with everyone’s name before and after each dive. You will see a lot of sea life on this adventure and will have the best time! As someone who was a little unsure about jumping into the middle of the ocean, my advice is to jump! You won’t regret it!

Such a fun day!!! My husband and I did the snorkel trip (3 hours) with two stops. The ride out and back was about 15 minutes each, so we had plenty of time to snorkel, which was nice. We visited the Christ of the Abyss and another beautiful location, where we saw some big, gorgeous fish! The company provided all the gear, sunscreen, snacks, and water, which I thought was such a nice touch--most places don't go that extra step! Michael and Mike helped us out, and they were so knowledgeable and helpful. We even chatted about California's local fish, the Garibaldi (which I didn't know about, haha). They really made the experience special. Michael (I think he was the captain) also nailed it with the music on the boat--10/10 vibes. The water was super blue, and the timing at each location was perfect. Such a great experience!

I've only done three snorkeling excursions in my lifetime, but this was far and away the best of the bunch. To begin with their land side facilities were exceptional. Clean, air-conditioned bathrooms for changing, showers for washing off the salt, shaded seating areas, free water, free pop, free snacks, and reef safe Sunblock besides. The proprietor was an absolute sweetheart who made me feel very welcome from the moment I walked up to the counter. The captain (Mike) and first mate were also very friendly and made a real effort to make our excursion fun while also keeping us safe. The boat was in top-notch condition with well-maintained and comfortable seating areas. All snorkeling equipment is provided and all of it was in great condition. We had a beautiful sunny day for our time in the water, which afforded me beautiful views of the reef and the wildlife. Obviously your mileage will vary with this but my experience was absolutely wonderful. Not sure if I'll be back, but I wouldn't ever hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.

Awesome experience for reef snorkeling! Everyone that works here is super friendly and helpful. We actually went to the wrong place at first but when we called they were able to get us to the right location quickly and easily. When we arrived they were ready for us - helping us with equipment and familiarizing us with what to expect on the excursion. Preston was our boat captain and he was awesome!! Really dynamic and did a great job engaging with everyone on the tour. The two spots they dropped us in to snorkel were perfect. There were other boats in the general proximity of us but we were far enough away that it felt secluded and not overly crowded....they provided snacks water and sodas in between the stops too which was a nice touch. Preston talked a lot about the waters and reef preservation and you could tell he has a lot of passion for what he does. This company was very organized and had everything ready to go - if you're looking for a smooth boating trip I highly recommend!!

This place was absolutely the BEST! First impressions are everything, so when we first arrived they greeted us like we where family. Captain Mike and Captain Brianna kept us informed and entertained! The day was pleasant and amazing. Thank you guys for helping us make family memories!!

My group of friends had the best time! Extremely friendly, cheerful staff and the experience can't be beat. We brought our own cooler on board which was totally unnecessary with the variety of drink options they made available on the boat. The chips were definitely a welcome treat between stops. Plenty of beautiful fish to see amongst the coral & we even saw a sea turtle! I'd highly recommend coming by for a visit. Bonus: at the docking area there are some games, picnic tables & clean bathrooms. Great spot to make lunch after your snorkeling adventure!

I rely on Yelp for buying decisions and this time was just as great as I thought it would be. We for the had 13 divers/Snorkelers and I did not have a Dive Buddy!, so I got to dive with Tucker, the dive master. The equipment I brought was malfunctioning, so I got set up by silent world within moments. The dives were fabulous and I will definitely be back to dive either Silent World.

We were cancelled last minute. We came from Miami since 12:00pm viewed the place and talked to the saff. We waited until 2:15pm for our ride and they cancelled out of the blue due to "visibility". Now we have to go back to Miami with no snorkeling experienc. Thanks. Good service but bad cominication man.

Very professional. Smooth operation. Great crew. I did two trips (4 dives) on the Phoenix. I had done about 18 dives but nothing for 4 years so I had a guide on both trips. My guides were Mary and Bianca. Both were great. Also benefitted from perfect weather.

Silent World is a Dive/Snorkeling Shop located on the Northern tip of Key Largo. Having taken many snorkeling trips in the past off Key Largo, I was expecting to see a rickety old dive shop, with an even older pontoon boat. When I pulled up to Silent World, I was greeted with a completely different experience. The dive shop was new, with excellent restroom facilities, the waiting area was a nice tiki hut with plenty of seating and outdoor games to play (Cornhole and giant Connect 4), and most importantly a new and well maintained vessel. Pricing was on par with every other dive shop in the area, but what sets this shop apart are the employees. Captain Rob and Eddie were great! We visited the Dry Rocks reef "Christ of the Abyss" and the Grechian Rocks. Captain Rob gave the history of both, knowledgeable of local sea life, and were extremely patient with less than coordinated passengers who lost gear. The Grechian Rocks were much more alive with sea life, and Capt. Rob advised he knew several other better places to snorkel than Dry Rocks that they visit. We went to two dive spots in the time most dive shops would have only done one. I highly recommend.

When in Key Largo, dive with Silent World! I've been diving for years and seen dive shops literally around the world. General Manager Shelby Jackman runs an impressively classy operation - efficient, professional, friendly and low key. During our stay we had two divers complete their initial open water certifications, our experienced divers got in some deep dives and we all did a lot of shallow reef diving. The certifications were professionally handled. Every once in a while a student will require a different approach or more dedicated instruction - it's the nature of the sport. Shelby was able to arrange this - and the results were excellent. Kudos to Ashlyn and especially Gabe for teaching our now fully certified divers. The rental gear was in good shape and items relating to usual wear and tear (such as the ubiquitous blown o ring) were immediately handled. There was also spare gear aboard if needed. Based on our tank pressures, the shop also seems to be generous with air. The boat (Phonenix) carries only a mid-sized party - this is no barge crammed with forty of your new dive pals, and for something more intimate you'd have to charter with one of the conceierge shops and bear the associated steep rise in price. The Captain (Bob) was an excellent judge of weather conditions while simultaneously avoiding overcrowded spots. (The shop will take your site preferences into consideration, but the Captain's judgement naturally will prevail.) Silent World will even get you on another boat, if they can't handle your request (in our case two of us wanted to get as couple of deep dives in on the Speigel Grove). Divers enjoying the reefs and shallow wrecks will have plenty of time underwater to sightsee and enjoy. Bottom time was easily 45 minutes to an hour per dive. We did a total of eight dives and each was excellent, with the Benwood being the best shallow dive imaginable. Bottom line - book with Silent World.

Epic Night Dive!! Did an amazing night dive with Silent World May 15, '23. What an amazing adventure. The friendliest staff, the roomiest, cleanest state of the art dive boat on the planet as well! I had such a great time, the Captain Oscar and his mate Alex were pros, so helpful entering and exiting water, very detailed pre dive, safety and post dive briefing, snacks, drinks provided. I also learned they have the newest snorkeling/scuba 50ft boat only 6months old and another is being built! This was my second time diving with Silent World and I got the exact same service each time. I even lost my light during my first dive and they quickly supplied me with a great loaner for my next dive! Super easy setup with Shelby, plenty of parking at the facility which conveniently sits right on their pier, not exaggerating when i say they also have the cleanest bathrooms as well. I highly recommend using Silent Divers if you are traveling to South Florida!

As a first-time hesitant snorkeler, this experience was so comfortable and amazing! I was clearly very nervous to make the jump, but the captain and crew were very comforting and accommodating. They offered me a pool noodle and gave me many tips on how to get the most out of my snorkeling experience. The boat ride felt very safe and was so beautiful. The captain and crew were super humorous and provided a lot of information about the reef and the animals inhabiting it. They also make safety their top priority, and I could certainly feel it when they explained all of the ways in which we will be protecting ourselves and each other during our excursion. I would definitely do this again!

Captain Mike and Brianna were professional, knowledgeable, humorous and amazing. As it was my first time snorkeling, they were kind and instructive. We came a few days after the hurricane and the waters weren't clear enough for good snorkeling, yet they did their best to make our experience memorable. You rock!!

Wow ! What a great day in paradise with Mike and Preston leading our great snorkel trip !!! They were great , played fun music , passed around anti fog spray for the masks and helped each of us in n out of the boat . From the minute we arrived we were greeted by a friendly host who gave us our equipment and aquatinted us with their offerings ... free ocean friendly sunscreen , bathrooms , corn hole game , showers and changing stations for after we got back and shaded picnic tables . Chips and soda provided on boat . But of course the best part was the great coral and fish !!!! My absolute favorite was seeing our Lord Jesus statue in the ocean .

Wonderful experience! First time snorkeling and loved it. Joined by my 2 sisters and 2 nieces to celebrate a milestone birthday, creating family memories. Great crew! Hats off to Captain Preston and first mate Rudy for delivering a fun and safe adventure. Wish we had the time to take another trip.

Oscar, our captain, and Alex, our first mate, were amazing! They helped walk us through our snorkeling gear and then when I LOST MY WEDDING RING on the floor of the ocean, among the coral reef, Alex put on her scuba gear and literally dove down to search for it and thankfully found it (this was my honeymoon so you can imagine our distress). Awesome crew, they make you feel super safe and super welcomed! Would highly recommend. My wife and I were rookies and it wasn't bad at all!

This was such a fun trip definitely will recommend everyone was so nice and very good about going over all safety protocols we had such a blast and the reefs were gorgeous 10/10 will have to come back with more friends or to dive

Fabulous mid-day trip to the Pennekamp Reef led by Ashley and Captn Rob. About 30 folks on the boat. Water, soft drinks and snacks on board which was a nice touch. Smooth ride out: 40 mins and 35 mins soaks which was about right. We got to see the Redeemer statue at Dry Rocks. Pretty nice for all levels I think: nice job introducing folks new to snorkeling, helping with gear and the reefs have something for everyone. We were both scuba certified but only snorkeling today and it was a relaxing and fun day. Good visibility. Laid back and safely run. Thanks folks!

First Class experience with Silent World Dive Center in Northern Key Largo. Captain Bob and Oscar (1st mate) were very professional and made the trip fun. We really enjoyed are dives!

We set sail with Captain Rob and Alex to get our PADI scuba diving certification. Everything from check in to docking was a breeze. They had tanks already set up for us on the boat so we just had to assemble our gear and enjoy the ride out to the mooring line before making our decent. They also helped check tanks and even replaced an O ring for a fellow classmate. They provided great information and let us know where the currents where and where to find the fun once we were under. 10/10 would do dive trips with silent world and their amazing crew again!

Captain Mandy and Captain John were great--very professional, super helpful with instructions, very friendly and affable. The staff at the center likewise was helpful, with very clear guidance on how to put on, remove flippers, etc. It was a lovely trip, and the ocean was stunning. I highly recommend them. Only pitfall: I got a little seasick but that's on me, not them! Thanks for a great day, Captains!

Excellent facilities, boats, equipment, and staff. The only real constructive criticism is that dives are limited to 1 hour from boat stopping- and with shallow dives and warm calm waters, easily could have been significantly longer. We used less than half our tanks most dives. We would strongly recommend this dive outfit as they did everything to make it memorable and super professional. We've been diving much of the Caribbean and although this may not be the most colorful, the wrecks here abound, corals were in good recovery, and the shallow warm dives were amazing for the newest divers in the group. We plan to come back again! Fall diving (October) was a success!

Our family of 4 had a great time with Captain Mike and First Mate Eddie. They were prepared and everything was clean and organized. They offered reef safe sunblock, snacks and drinks. They took us to two different reefs and we loved Dry Rocks. So many different species of fish, sharks and coral. Absolutely loved our trip!

Captain Rob and Alex were great. The whole experience exceeded expectations. Highly recommend.

Captain Kevin and 1st mate Eddy were awesome! By far the best snorkeling experience I've had so far. They provided snacks and drinks which were very much appreciated after a long day in the sun. And we had great tunes the whole trip. Not to mention, they have showers & clean bathrooms to wash up afterwards. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a fun time out in beautiful Key Largo!

Awesome experience near Miami! My partner and I were stoked to go snorkeling, but an issue with our GPS meant that we were running late. Called and spoke to the nicest lady (Shelby) who took our information and made sure we were able to get on the boat with the rest of our party. The captain and crew member on our boat were very friendly and covered all the safety information in advance. Also, they had free chips and soda! We went to two different snorkeling sites with a great variety of coral and fish. We had a wonderful time and got lots of cool pictures. Would definitely come back!

Absolutely amazing time out! Our first time to the keys and I had some pretty high expectations. Silent World exceeded them! From my first contact on the phone, to coming into the shop to going out on the boat...the staff were welcoming, fun and very knowledgeable. The snorkeling was fantastic and approachable to a novice like myself. I would definitely recommend them to my family and friends!

What a great operation. My group and I came for a fun weekend of diving. Carrie, the Manager was so easy to work with to setup our group dives. Captain Bob and Kim provided for a wonderful boat experience and Kelly couldn't have been a better dive leader. We definitely chose the right shop by picking Silent World!

Silent world is great! My boyfriend and I did our PADI OW training with Matt T. I'm not sporty at all, and I was scared of deep water before I did the training. The fear reached its peak when I got down the water for 2 meters in a confined water area, which is super dark (to me). However, Matt always calmed me down when I thought that I couldn't do certain activities, and provided tremendous amount of encouragement. I super trust him after Day 1, and was no longer scared. I ended up getting the OW certificate and learned all necessary technics. I would strongly Matt and Silent World to everyone!

First time snorkeling and I am more than grateful that I chose Silent World! Bob and Kim were amazing. So humorous and helpful. Literally a five star experience.

First time scuba diving and it was awesome. My instructor Jeremy was very patient with us 3 kids (2 14y/o 1 11y/o). This where we got certified and they took us through my favorite reef (horseshoe reef). There were so many things to look at. Thanks hope to see you next time!!!

Dove here while I was on a trip to Miami and it was AMAZING. The staff was super friendly, price was unbeatable (included gear too! Gear was in great shape. Wetsuits we used were brand new still had tags on them) and the dives themselves were fantastic. One dive was at a reef, the other was a shipwreck and the water was clearer than Hawaii. Honestly this was the best diving I've ever done and would take a trip back to Key Largo just to dive. Saw the staff later that night at a brewery and they remembered us and we chatted with them for a bit while getting recommendations for other places to visit in the area. Great people, amazing diving and unbeatable prices :)

Came across this place by a Groupon promotion. Extremely happy that I did! Had an amazing experience. When it comes to diving equipment is of the upmost importance. Silent World Dive has spectacular equipment. And I can't say enough about the staff. We were welcomed by Connie in which was super nice. She introduced us to our guide George who was the bestest!! You do not have to worry about anything with him. He was super informative and understanding. Our Captain was Bob. He as well was super nice! Can't wait to dive with them again!!! We did a double dip on the Spiegel Grove Oh and I forgot to mention.... we lost our GoPro when coming up from the second dive. Bob then called other dive boats around to see if when they are down for their second dive they would be on the lookout. When we got back to the shop Connie received a phone call saying our GoPro had been found :)!!! Yay

Great place for scuba diving. Owners are polite, courteous, and very professional. The area to get ready is close to the boat. A little selection of scuba items in case you need something the last minute.

*FUTURE DIVERS PLEASE READ* Grove Scuba relies on Silent World for their boat dives. PROS: I never felt like I was in danger. David Smyth was an excellent instructor for my confined water session. CONS: these are kids who unfortunately are given the responsibility of managing a store. They ask for money but have no clue on proper communication. When I paid in full, they painted this picture that I was going to be able to get certified in 2-3 days, little did I know, they only have ONE BOAT coming in and out, which means you have to be okay with their schedule. It came to a point Gabriel Hernandez asked me to pay around 200 just to go out and get certified because the boat was already full. (when I'd already paid in full and scheduled the dive a week prior). Imagine coming here to get certified while on a vacation trip and not being able to finish due to boat limitations. It took about 4 weeks of silence and unlimited unanswered voicemails for me to finally decide to move along a different dive shop. I did not get a refund let alone a store credit. Every time I called, kids behind counter would repeatedly say "oooh hhmmm manager is not here at the moment can I take a message " I had to keep calling just to get a proper referral of the stuff I'd already done cause without this you can't just finish your certification else where. Overall. POOR COMMUNICATION, UNPROFESSIONAL, WORST SHOP TO REPRESENT PADI DIVERS.

Awesome!!! Our favorite Florida key dive shop. Less crowded and more personable service. Great dive site history from the captain. Kelley was a great dive master, very friendly and caring. Captain Bob was a total legend, great mustache! Carrie set up our dives and made it a super breeze. Thanks again!

Second time at Silent World. Friendly, awesome, well-trained staff. Captain Bob was super thorough. Brad and Shelby were wonderful. Clean equipment. Long dives at 2 locations- each 60+ minutes. Loved the free snacks and soda on board after our dive....so refreshing. We will be back soon!

We used to always dive with one of the bigger shops when in the Keys, but discovered Silent World when they were our guides for the Corral Restoration Project. Now they are our first choice for diving in the keys. I can't recommend them enough. We have gone out with them several times. Shelby is so friendly and helpful, and so is the entire crew. Hands down our favorite dive center. I'm so happy we discovered them.

This is the second trip my husband and I dove with Silent World. I think we have found our scuba home in Key Largo! They provide unguided dives. Since we only dive once a year, we hire a personal guide for the two of us. I highly recommend doing this - especially for the Spiegel Grove. The staff are all very safety-conscious, helpful and friendly. Bill Conrad is a great instructor who explains concepts and techniques in an understandable, real-world way. My husband took the Tec40 course with him. Double tanks were too heavy for me :-(

This is a long overdue review. I dove with Silent World on a trip to the Keys back in March 2016 when JetBlue had a Leap Day Sale on flights from Los Angeles. This was my first time diving on the East Coast and I was recommended this shop by someone who used to teach at the shop I use here in California. Very friendly staff and awesome customer service. I went on a 2 tank dive trip in the morning. I had to use rental gear since I didn't want to lug all of my dive gear for one day of diving. Pretty decent quality that seem well maintained. Pretty thorough dive site briefings and helpful staff. The drinks were a nice treat. I will definitely be using this shop again when I visit Key Largo. Would love to dive Christ of Abyss next time. I do wish there could be larger restrooms or a nicer or more private shower area perhaps. Towel service so I don't have to steal towels from the hotel? Other than that, great outfit and outstanding crew.
