My partner and I chose to celebrate our 4-year anniversary at this restaurant based on its high Google review rating. Sadly, the experience fell far short of our expectations. We opted for the set menu (as pictured), but the portions were disappointingly small. To make matters worse, the waiting time between each dish was unreasonably long. Our dinner lasted over two hours, but 90 minutes of that was spent waiting, as it only took about five minutes to finish each dish due to the tiny portions.

We couldn't get into our first choice of restaurant so we made a reservation for Silica and we were not disappointed! We had the 6 course tasting option. We started with the Merimbula Sydney Rock Oysters with ginger and shallot mignioutte. Fresh, dressing well balanced left us wanting more! King Fish Crudo - Green apple, pickled Kohlrabi, sour cream and a rice crisp - the rice crisp was so delicate, the kingfish and the condiments together were a burst of heaven in our mouth. Couldn't wait for the roasted heirloom beetroot and didn't disappoint. The barramundi fillet, skin was crisp, the barramundi perfectly cooked, cauliflower puree silky and smooth. The beef eye fillet perfectly cooked and so tender you could cut it with a butter knife, our dessert caramelised pineapple was a perfect way to end our meal. The only criticism we had was that the cutlery was not changed between each course, just taken off our plate and placed on our serviette. If you are in town do yourself a favour and drop in!

Beautiful restaurant with stunning views. Food was lovely although menu online is not up to date and it’s a minimum of 2 courses which would have been good to know before hand.

From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the cozy yet elegant atmosphere. The venue itself is super cute, with its wooden beams, soft lighting, and stunning views of the water, creating a perfect backdrop for an intimate meal or a special occasion. The highlight of my visit was the incredible six-course meal. Every meal was super fresh and had beautiful flavours. It seemed to be a cross between Japanese/modern Australian flavours. I also loved that they plated each person their own little meals. The service was warm and attentive, enhancing the already delightful ambiance. Whether you're a local or visiting the region, this charming spot in Kiama is an unforgettable treat for the senses. Highly recommend!

Went for dinner, which is a tasting menu, and the food was good, modern Australian which isn't my favourite cuisine as I prefer bolder flavours, but was tasty. I especially loved the dessert. Service was good, and with a full restaurant the dishes came out at regular intervals - the kitchen must run like clockwork! The ambiance was difficult to digest though, lots of concrete and wood, lots of echo, which meant the moment it was full, I had to raise my voice for my partner to hear, and the servers were leaning in and talking in our ears to ask our drink orders. Good for food, terrible of you want a romantic date with conversation.

We were here on a rainy Saturday for lunch, but it did not detract from our experience. The sea view was wild & and windy, but we felt cozy & well looked after by the staff. The barramundi, chicken perri perri and the balmain bug were all well received. The sides of pumpkin & potatoes were delicious. My partner enjoyed his local craft beer & the wine list is a good selection. We felt it was worth the drive from Sydney.

2024: Was finally able to try thier Lunch and Dinner menu. Well executed menu with well put flavour profile. Cooked to perfection. Enjoyed thier lovely desserts. 2023: Takeaway Menu Good coffee (however changes in taste with different barista) Variety of take away options (would love a changing menu from time to time) Lovely customer service.

I recently visited Silica Restaurant and had a fantastic experience with my partner. The fresh seafood and duck confit were especially delicious, and the friendly service made our night even more enjoyable. We left feeling thoroughly satisfied with our meal and the overall experience. We loved the wonderful views that perfectly complement the great food and service. A great spot for a date night. Would dine again!!
