It was a quite nice hostel, I stayed 4 nights in 2018. The price was also affordable for solo travelers. The location is superb and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The kitchen was clean and has very sufficient cutlery for a long stay. The bathrooms are shared. Since Venice is small city, it's really easy to reach all sides of the island from the hostel by walking. If I have chance to go Venice again, I will definitely prefer to stay here. One negative comment that I should say, the bathroom floor was super slippery that I had almost fallen. Maybe the landlord could find a solution for it. Thx for your hospitality!

I slept there two nights. After a problem, I arrived at 10: 00 without reservation. The girl who was working the service was still there. She welcomed me with great kindness. She explained how it works. The hostel is 5 - 10 minutes from the station or bus station. Nearby, we find good pizzerias or restaurants and the bars quarter, there is a nearby supermarket and atm to withdraw money. The beds and rooms are very good and the bathroom is clean. There's a kitchen available to cook. We shared a night with the other people at the hotel and the staff.|Best experience for me in venisa!

Silk Road was one of the nicest hostels I've ever been to - it was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were light and airy feeling, large with only a few beds, lockers, individual lights and outlets by each one. The breakfast was packaged goods, coffee, yogurt, toast and the like. The biggest drawback of this hostel is that there are only two bathrooms. As it wasn't full when I stayed there and I usually shower at night, this wasn't ever a huge problem (I only ever had to wait for 5 minutes), but I can imagine that it could possibly difficulties in high season when the rooms are packed. Otherwise, I loved falling asleep and waking up to the sound of waves, the room felt very cozy and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. :)

It looks like it used to be good, given the reviews from before covid, but now it's not. Too expensive for what it is. We could've stayed in a proper hotel for the same price. No check-in until 3pm, check out at 10- which is okay but can't show up before to leave your luggage, nor can you leave it on your check out. Facilities old and broken, needs renovation, old uncomfortable beds, unprofessional host. Also misleading photos on hostelworld.

The best hostel I've ever stayed at hands down. Super clean, great view. Most of all Mali Is the sweetest human being alive. I can not say enough good things about her, she is just wonderful. I'm for sure going to stay again

I stayed one night in June. The only good thing about this hostel is it is next to a few restaraunts and is clean. The staff is very friendly.||||Besides that, I found this hostel to be way too hot. No a/c, just fans and windows. When the window is open, you can hear noise from boats and people walking through the alleyway. The room is too hot to just use the fan. Kitchen has limited hours which is unfortunate if you want a glass of water or to cook something during certain hours. Breakfast is not included. For the price, I would not book here again. I would do a night in an AirBNB or stay elsewhere.

The hostel owner is rude and impolite. ||||I booked 3 nights stay in hostel, but due to some issue, I arrived on the second day morning. I did try to inform the hostel via Booking.com but she said didn’t receive it. ||||||The front door is always locked and mentioned the opening hour as 9:00-22:00, but the woman didn't show up until 9:20 after I called her twice. When I tried to do the check in the second day morning, she talked to me in a very rude way, said need to charge me extra because I was late for check in. I tried to explain to her and showed her the msg I sent to her, but she didn’t want to listen to me. ||||Worse still, she was mad without listening and even said won’t do my check in , don’t wanna provide me the stay and opened the door to ask me out... it doesn’t make any sense and she gave me the worst first impression of Italian people and Venice. As I was with a local friend, he helped me solve the conflict between me and the woman and finally I can check in,, but overall it’s definitely the worst hostel experience I’ve ever had. Imagine What would happened if I don't know any local here.. ||||Please stay away from this hostel if you wanna enjoy your travel in Venice. ||||PS: this is not a well organised hostel, it’s like just a house owned by a woman to rent you a stay, don’t expect anything from here.

The hostess was very accommodating to my schedule for check-in, and provided a map where she highlighted some really good trips to do! Everything was clean and neat, and the place is right next to a water bus station. The best hostel experience I’ve had hands-down, I will be back someday!
