Silver Beach

I’ve been visiting Saint Joseph, Michigan for over 30 years, but this was my first time experiencing lake effect snow. It was gorgeous. Cold. Stunning. The waves magnificent. I love how people brave the elements on polar vortex days to walk around the beach.

Silver Beach is a beautiful place to spend the day. There’s something for everyone; a huge splash pad, playground, and carousel for the kids; volleyball, big restrooms, an ice cream stand, and plenty of water to splash in.

I absolutely love this place. It has everything you could want in a beach. It has a huge playground area for the kids, a ton of volleyball nets, lifeguards (weather permitting), a lighthouse, on the weekends a food stand, they have paddleboard and kayak rentals, bathrooms and a gorgeous view of Lake Michigan. Silver Beach Pizza and a ton of cute shops are near by. We definitely be back

Silver Beach is amazing! So much fun! Everything is in walking distance! My family had a blast! They have a splash pad and a brand new park, food shops and ice cream shops. They also have a really good pizza place called silver beach pizza. Lake Michigan looks like the ocean and the water is so clear it's amazing! I highly recommend!

Hot spot in St Joseph!! We were there after Labor Day and it was still fairly busy. A lot of room for people to find a great spot for the day. You do have to pay to park but I’m not sure how much.

Me and the children had a great time. They enjoyed the splash pad, then we walked over to the beach and played on the new playground they have, made sand castles, and swam. Silver beach pizza was amazing that day as well

Great beach but if you don't arrive early, good luck finding parking! Had a large family traveling from Indiana with a bunch of littles who enjoyed it! Perfect beach day

Please be warned if you see this post, this individual is taking photos of YOU and YOUR FAMILY!!!!! Please be safe. As a frequent visitor of silver beach I have to say my most recent visit (Sep 13) was by far the worst. My friend and I wanted to have a relaxing day and come to the beach before it got too cold. While at the beach, we were laying on the sand and a lady we didn’t know came up to us. She said, “Hey, do you ladies know this guy in the white hat, he was taking pictures of you and walked away”. We told her we didn’t and noticed he and the group he was with were keeping eyes of us. As we made our way to the front to leave he put his camera in my face and took photos of my friend walking away. My friend did her best to let someone know there was someone going around and taking photos of women and children, but she was met with, “Sorry there are laws that prevent us from going up to him”. So because nothing was done this person is still on the loose taking photos of you and your children. P.S I literally have a photo of him taking pictures of people but apparently that wasn’t enough to warrant a request for a sheriff.
