Food was very good service was ok, the wife and I shared a soup that was very popular, we asked for a second spoon twice and it never came. Drinks were good and bartender was very knowledgeable about what she was serving. Definitely will be eating there again next time I am in Fairbanks.

Google
Well, my friend Laura recommended this place and it was great!! The beer soup was outstanding! The beer was also really good. I had a burger and was not disappointed. Definitely a place I will visit in the years to come. That beer cheese soup and pretzel was fire!!!!

Google
Our server Keke was amazing, attentive, and friendly. I'm sure this won't be our last visit to Alaska, we will definitely return to Silver Gulch. Excellent craft beer selection!

I know it is hard with a group of people on a bus. But they knew we were coming and the menu was set for fried halibut and fries. We got there on time and got cold fried food. Not really their best. Then we ordered some of their brew. The staff person was very unorganized and we got the very cold beer we'll past eating the room temp food. Also it is suggested to pay by credit card. We tried cash and waited for a long time for change. I hope their normal efforts are improving over this experiment.

My colleagues and I flew into Fairbanks on Jan 19, 2025 and decided to stop by for dinner. We arrived less than an hour before they closed and felt guilty about ordering food that late. Our server assured us that it was ok and even mentioned that the Executive Chef was there and sometimes offers a personalized experience (off-the menu, custom order). The chef came out and talked us through some options that he would like to experiment with and we jumped on it. I have to say this was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food quality and flavor were top-notch as well as the service from both our server and chefs. I also must add that the beer was awesome too, after all it is a brewery! I will definitely be back whenever I’m back in Fairbanks!

Google
Underwhelmed. We were given one menu for four people when seated at the bar. They were out of their several draft beers, and do not allow tasters. We asked for any kind of description on the beers and the bar tender told us they’re described on the menu (see photo). The bartender was friendly and attentive, but didn’t know about the beers (draft or bottled), didn’t make a great cocktail (one of us tried a house specialty) and poured a Chardonnay when one of us ordered a Sauv Blanc (but didn’t have enough for a full pour so it was on the house anyway). Burger was good, salmon was rubbery and overcooked, served tepid with like warm mashed potatoes and veggies. Not a great experience with so many impressive breweries in town.

Google
I enjoyed eating here, good atmosphere and service. I had chicken Cajun penne which was amazing but only given 4 stars because my boyfriends burger meat came really dry. The onion ring was very good too and the beer taste was ok

Located just 10 miles outside of Fairbanks in the small mining community of Fox, this brewery is the northernmost brewery in the United States! Making Silver Gulch Brewing a can't miss brewery for like-minded beerventurers who want to get the accolade on their maps. The standout beer of our visit was the "Old 55 Pale Ale", a beer carefully balancing maltyness with a delicate dusting of hop flavor (Citra and Cascade). After a small pour of it, we understand why it’s a local favorite. Smooth, flavorful, and perfect for sipping alongside an order of their delicious hushpuppies. The brewery itself is spacious and inviting, with a warm, family-friendly atmosphere that makes it a great stop after a morning of exploring Fairbanks or the nearby Gold Dredge 8 Mine tour. Open since 1998, Silver Gulch combines its mining-town roots with a love of craft beer, producing 24-barrel batches that reflect years of brewing expertise. Not a fan of their beer? Silver Gulch also has a wide selection of other craft and macro beers as well! Their motto, “Where the People are Unusual and the Beer is Unusually Good,” captures the spirit of the place. Whether you’re here for a pint, a meal, or just to say you’ve visited America’s northernmost brewery, Silver Gulch Brewing delivers on all fronts.

Yelp
How cool is that, to visit the most northern brewery in America!!! It may have been our timing (arrived mid week during the day), and the gift shop was closed and the place empty. The apple ale was fantastic (still grieving that we couldn't take a can home!), and so was the root beer. Everything else didn't hold up, unfortunately. We really appreciated our super friendly waitress though.

Yelp
The northernmost brewery in the Western Hemisphere, apparently trumped only by a brewery in Norway, Silver Gulch had a wide array of interesting "specialty" beers in addition to some classics. Paired with scotch egg and a beer cheese soup (having had a big lunch) I tried some tasters of their brews and they had a couple of fruit beers which also used sorghum to make them reduced gluten, pretty cool for those that matters to. Other meals that came out to our party were pizzas, burgers, onion ring starters, and a bread pudding for dessert that I was a little envious of. Some of the best beer I've had. Service was excellent, we had a very funny young woman looking after us. The massive cold snap made the place a bit chilly, but the vibe made up for it in spades.

Yelp
We loved the food, their service was great! The staff were all very friendly and polite! Although I feel like I could've gotten a little more for the price of my salmon plate. My husband liked his burger as well :). Overall wonderful dinner. We will be coming back

Yelp
Service was slow, apps came out before drinks (which had been sitting on the bar for quite some time). Some apps came out with mains. Salad came out limp and room temp. Medium rare ribeye came out charbroiled. No refills offered on soda. About the only thing that was executed at all well were the wings (app) which came out 1 min before main (ribeye).

Yelp
Found this place by accident and loved it - later came to realize it's famous for 2 good reasons. The most northerly brewery in the America, and was covered by Guy Fieri in the Food Network show why he was in Alaska! The porter beer cheese soup is truly delicious! Same for the other food, everything was fantastic. We tried their cider and it was smooth and refreshing. Apple pie is also stellar. Super friendly staff. Cool vibe. You don't want to miss this us you're nearby!

Alyssa M.

Yelp
Made a reservation, but there was no need - there were 3 small parties aside from ours. The waitress told us servers times she'd bring us waters and she kept forgetting. We ordered drinks and saw them just sitting at the bar bc the waitress wouldn't come back by, at the end when she brought our check she never came to get our cards so we paid with cash to leave, we found her chatting with a friend outside. Food was fine but service was as awful. Won't be back anytime soon.

Leah C.

Yelp
They are not accepting gift cards. Unfortunately, we found this out AFTER we got our meal. Our giftcard is worth $100 and they would not take it. They told us it was because their system was "hacked" and they hope to have it back up in a few weeks. I understand things happen but to not have a sign up or social media post, nothing, is a scam. The only "fix" the owner offered us was a free dessert. They told us to come back and use the giftcard but I do not trust they will ever accept it. Also, we called the anchorage location and they informed us that Fairbanks should indeed be taking giftcards. there have been multiple people saying they wouldn't accept their gift cards either and that was MONTHS ago.

Yelp
An amazing Fairbanks restaurant located just outside town. The food here is great and reasonably priced (for Alaska). The atmosphere within the restaurant is very Alaskan and the journey to it is great to show visitors. The service here is okay, but the atmosphere, location, and food make up for it. Overall, a good choice.
google avatar

Tracy N.

Yelp
Amazing food!!! Very flavorful. Worth trying out any of their locations in Alaska! Highlight of my trip.

Chris S.

Yelp
This place use to be amazing, not anymore.. The food isn't as good as it was in the past. Their gift card system has conveniently been down for close to a year now, so they can't accept gift cards. Every time I call them to ask if they got their system working, they just tell me that they will post on Facebook.. still nothing. Do not recommend

Yelp
Have been here several times now and it's a very consistent great meal. Today I tried the muscles for the first time because they were recommend by our waitress and they lived up the hype. A great post meal after snowboarding all day. This place always has great hospitality and food. Only knock it gets from me is they are somehow always out of whatever appetizer I try to order however I will be back.

Yelp
Had a lovely time, all the staff were super friendly and attentive! Each drink was really good, especially surprised by how much I loved the pickaxe porter, smoothest porter I've ever had! Appetizers of fried pickles and scotch egg were really delicious, we'd definitely come back for those. Entree was a little disappointing because my fish and chips had the smallest amount of fish I've probably ever had for a fish and chips plate, but it was still very yummy and the Cajun fries were delicious. Definitely will be back!

Yelp

Yelp
The food was good I would give it a 7.5/10 would definitely go back. The service/staff was 10/10 they did amazing and were so kind. Everything was clean and tidy from what I could see 9.5/10. The whole experience I would rate a 8.5. I suggest checking it out.

Yelp
Great food and beer! The server brought extra pretzels for the soup! I definitely recommend!

Jill O.

Yelp
Food was good. Only reason for three stars. However bald man that seated us and then served us was rude, insulting, crabby and slow. I would give service zero stars and never go back.

Yelp
We love Silver Gulch food! It is one of our favorites in the Fairbanks area and we always eat there when in town.
google avatar

Rachel P.

Yelp
Friendly and attentive service, good beer and funny Fairbanks jokes on their cups and in the gift shop. Had the potato poppers as an app they were tasty, the special bbq pizza didn't have the cheese fully melted and crust was floppy and without flavor. Will definitely come back for beer and apps!

Mike P.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by the quality food and service. We have visited the Gulch from free testing to opening day and have seen the rise and fall of their service and quality. So glad to see they are back on course for being Fairbanks finest. We had the black and blue burger and a grilled chicken sandwich that were top notch! Great service and a cool atmosphere as well.

Yelp
Good beer, and food was good. It was cool to eat at the northernmost brewery in North America.

Yelp
Silver gulch use to be amazing but after spending over 50 on a take out order only to be completely messed up isn't okay. 1. We called multiple times...no answer. So we drove down there (we live 5 mins away). 2. After getting there we made mention of their number in case they weren't aware of a possible wrong number for their business. It was correct. They just didn't answer. 3. Finally put the order in and we had to remind them that they probably need a name and number for order. 4. Their prices are completely outdated on their website, including delivery sites. Like...really off. 5. We get the order only to find that their "witte pizza" was just sad cheese. None of the toppings or sauce that were stated on the menu was on it, it was also burnt. 6.We got no sauces we asked for. 7.Don't get me started on the burnt egg rolls. Which btw is 9 bucks for two small ones. 8.Don't bother with the cheesecake. We spent 24 bucks on two slices of sad cheesecake. When I say sad, I mean it was a slice of depression. Cake is supposed to fill the cracks in my heart not make them worseWe usually love silver gulch but I would not recommend take out or going by ANYTHING they have on their website.

Yelp
I stopped by for a beer on my last day in Alaska. Fantastic beer, kind people. I was looking for a brewery sticker to add to my collection but unfortunately, the gift shop was closed. The manager got me a few stickers anyway. Kindness goes a long way.

Yelp
Very disappointed in what is usually a decent place. Stopped here on our way back from Tolovana -- oddly packed for a Thursday night (including a tour bus party) so we didn't exactly expect fast service but WOW this took forever. Started off bad when it took about 15 mins just for our waitress to come by to ask if we wanted drinks. Then, after we ordered, it took another 15-20 mins to get cups of their famous beer cheese soup that two of us ordered. When they did arrive, they didn't come w the pretzels specified by the menu (the reason I had personally ordered the soup - for dipping!). The waitress made it seem like she was doing us a favor by going to get us some... only to come back to tell us they were baking but she'd bring them out soon. By the time she did, my soup (aka dip) was gone. Finally our mains arrived - I had ordered the burger medium... there wasn't a spot of pink to be found - nor juice for that matter. It was dry and unimpressive. My side of mushrooms was equally disappointing - being mushy. The only saving grace was some excellently crispy fries with Cajun seasoning. My friends did seem to enjoy their burger (which was cooked accurately) and the halibut. We didn't see our waitress at all during the meal and it took a bit to even find her to get the check after we had finished. This experience kinda ruined it for me... I don't think I'll be back nor will I recommend it to friends now. So sad.

Yelp
I am totally surprised with some of the negative commets about this place. Hands down this place is rockin...beer is amazing and food is awesome - I ordered potato glazed Halibut and it is cooked to perfection. Definetly coming back to this place when I m beck in town.

Yelp
The food here is amazing! Probably the best brewery food I've had. See photos. Drool! How often do you get to visit a prolific brewery, the most Northern brewery in America? I'm not sure but usually, places with fancy fun facts are mediocre in other things. Not the case here. The selection of beer is WIDE. They even had a large selection of sours which was impressive. I will note the apricot sour while good was not as sour as I expected. My favorite beer on draft, and I had tried a few (they were so patient with me), is the Northern Light. It was light and refreshing. I don't usually love beer and prefer ciders but that went down way easy. There is an abundance of parking - could be because I visited during the dead of winter but coming from the Bay Area, that is a huge plus. Fun fact I learned about the Executive Chef, he trained at Buchón in San Francisco for a couple of weeks and had worked at other renown restaurants around America. It explains a lot when I saw and tasted the food. Seriously, the best brewery food I've had and I travel quite a bit. For my experience, I sat at the bar with friendly locals. The bartender was awesome, bathrooms were clean, food was amazing and beer was good. I'd definitely come back. :)

Yelp
Came here on a Monday night, not too crowded, no wait to be seated. Ordered the pizza and bbq burger, Brussel Sprouts for our app. All the food tasted very good as well as their beers. The only downside to our experience was the wait for our food to arrive. Guessing that since it was a Monday day night, maybe they were running with minimum back of house staff? Like everywhere we eat, sometimes it takes a little while to be served, and we get it. But, having to wait beyond a reasonable amount of time brought down our dining experience a bit.

Yelp
Potato "encrusted" halibut This was a delicious dish despite the overcooked fish. But the thing that gets me about this dish is the wording. The menu claims potato encrusted, so I would assume the entire piece of fish would be wrapped in some sort of potato crust. Nope, my assumption is wrong.... What The Silver Gulch claims as a piece of encrusted fish is 4 very thinly sliced slivers of potatoes set on top of the fish. I would call this a garnish at best, but I'm not a chef at The Silver Gulch... Im really big on misleading menus, simple words to describe a dish and yet something else is served to you. Just leads to a disappointing meal no matter how good it might be. Beer is good, some very tasty appetizers as well... It's worth a trip to eat and drink though. But if I'm driving out this way it might as well be Turtle Club, best prim rib ever!

Cindy K.

Yelp
We did a lot of searching on the internet for someplace to eat only to be really disappointed. I was looking forward to the options on the menu including Scotch Eggs. When the bartender told us that they were out of a lot of items on the menu, we were shocked. It would have been quicker to say what was available. The reasoning was they were short staffed. I know it wasn't the bartender's fault - she was very kind. But we were very disappointed and ended up going someplace else that had a full menu available. It was a nice facility and the staff were great. We obviously can't comment on the food.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in Fairbanks. I came here because I met a local on my way here, she worked at a restaurant in town and told me that if I wanted something nice and good, try here. I came here twice. First of all, $1.75 tasting for their house brews, Seriously delicious. Hush puppies are with shrimp and shredded coconuts. Ale cheese soup is delicious despite how strange it sounds. Alaska halibut was sweet, flaky and plenty for what you pay for. The next night, try fish and chips. They use large flaky halibut as the fish, it's easily sharable with two or more people. Beer battered onion rings are out of this world. The ale bathed shrimp as an appetizer is more than enough to consume as an entree. For people from major metro areas, Alaska native food prices are beyond reasonable. The real thing that I have noticed that locals there do not use Yelp often. The review ratings are not necessarily reflective of its food quality. The restaurants were very crowded and filled with locals here. You have to really do your homework and get your arms around the real eats to make an educated assessment. Don't be disturbed by its 3.5 star rating. Silver Gulch is also in the Anchorage airport so you know their bier is well known. Did I mention it is the northern most brewery in America? Oh yes I just did. And let's not forget, this is a Food Network darling, with a super cool rehabbed building.

Yelp
Silver Gulch delivered above expectations based on previous Yelp reviews. We had some time to burn before heading to the airport and decided to have one more brew (well maybe two..). My wife wanted to have some munchies and that limited us to Silver Gulch. We arrived before opening at 4 PM and had to wait for the doors to be opened. We were seated in a large dining area and our server answered some of our questions on the menu as we decided what beverages and food we wanted. She did not know about the artichoke appetizer special and it appears no one did as they pulled it as an option. We ultimately decided to have the nachos and Ruben egg rolls. I ordered, The Weird Beard (a high rated marzen on Beer Buddy app) and Jo ordered iced tea.... The restaurant had a fair amount of activity as tonight (unbeknownst to us was their big Octoberfest (expecting 3K people with tents being set up outside). This had a minimal effect as we were there early, and our food arrived promptly. The Weird Beard was an excellent Marzen with a good malty, fruit taste and strong ABV. The nachos surprised us as they were a large serving with a bowl of chili covered with cheese, scallions, a scoop of guacamole and sour cream. This bowl was surrounded by nacho chips with melted cheese, jalapeños and pico gallo, which kept the chips crisp and allowed for a very healthy (well large...) serving the good stuff with a spoon to serve it! It was really good (it could be better with a more robust chili, but still very tasty! The Ruben egg-rolls came with a thousand island dressing mixed with mustard seeds, which was a nice touch and added flavor. Good pub food for our beverages. I had one more brew, their quad (which finished me, as it was 10.5% ABV with a good Belgian yeast taste. Food and beverages 4 The brews I had were very good 4+ and the food large in quantities and good (but not great). Server 3.5 She was pretty good keeping up with us, but really does not know her beer or the menu. Atmosphere 3.5 It's a little worn on the inside and soon will need an update (bathrooms especially). Price 4Good food and brew at a fair price. OA 4 I would go back (knowing my beer choices).

Yelp
The service was great, so friendly! The food was beyond great, everything was beautifully served and in a very timely manner. And they even have tasty water

Yelp
The northern-most brewery in the Americas, why wouldn't I go here when I'm in Fairbanks? Our party of five took up seats at the bar, where we were ably served by a bartender who goes by the name "Ski Patrol". Beers all around and then we dug into menus. I could not take my eyes away from the Pear Gorgonzola pizza. And how could I when the menu said they included pears, Gorgonzola, bacon, onions, walnuts, prosciutto and then topped with mixed greens and more Gorgonzola cheese dressing on top. The food took a while, but we satisfied ourselves with more beer in the meanwhile. When it arrived, it was excellent. Really tasty thin crust with lots of toppings. Lots of great flavors and textures and while drinking their Coldfoot Pilsner or Hefeweizen, excellent. Silver Gulch does not have any televisions in the bar area. They also do not have a wifi network. When I asked the manager about it, he said that it was an intentional decision. They don't want people here looking at tv's or their iPads; they want people to be enjoying the beer and conversating. So there's that.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Silver Gulch has a big name that comes with it. People in the Beer World seem to love it. On the other hand, why would you build such a large, modern, beautiful restaurant if you were going to serve food that is as poor as it is? We went to a Nanook hockey game and then drove the 25 minutes from downtown to eat here at 10 p.m. and couldn't have been more disappointed. We all ordered the bison burger that was labeled as juicy and one of their special items. One of us ordered it medium-well, another medium-rare and at last medium. Unfortunately, all of them came extremely well. They were more like leather than a burger. There was no pink in the meat at all. It was black. You want to good comparison? The burger was almost as crispy as the bacon. At this point it was 10:30 p.m. and we didn't want to wait for a new burger to be cooked and our server didn't even return until it was time to pay the bill so we couldn't have told her even if we wanted to. What was also interesting is one of us ordered the parmesan fries and the other order the Cajun and it looked like the cook literally just poured all the spice on three or four fries and the rest had none. To give credit where it's due the side salad was phenomenal. The dressing was good and the greens were very fresh, which was a shock being it was February in northern Alaska. Beyond that we were extremely disappointed. I paid $60 for 3 charcoal burgers and three root beers. The root beer is brewed on site and were average at best. The ones at 49th State are a hundred times better. This was supposed to be our big dinner in Fairbanks that we splurged on and instead it ended up being the joke of our trip. What a disappointment. Ironically, the next morning at Fairbanks Airport we talked to a few guests that had the same exact experience and a few locals thar said they stopped coming here because the food was so poor. What a shame for such a beautiful building that could be a cornerstone of the food and restaurant industry here.

Yelp
Beer ,,, 5 stars Service ,,, 4 stars Food ,,, skip - 2, at best Atmosphere ,,, 4 stars Tried the salmon burger special and it was dry and tasteless. Scott had the halibut tacos and they were only slightly better. On the other hand, good service and the beer was really tasty. I had the IPA and it had a really great hoppy flavor. Don't miss stopping by for a pint or two.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great food. The potato crusted halibut was amazing! The staff was friendly and fast. We will definitely be back. If you haven't been here I highly recommend you check them out.

Yelp
STOP! Save your money and listen. Jack is back with a brand new improvisation. The Silver Gulch reached an all-time low due to Lorrie's rudeness, lack of effort to provide water, attend her tables, or know the menu. When asked for a healthier choice: not red meat, not fried, not deep fried, or beer battered fried. Lorrie became a ride and disrespectful succubus who pissed off our entire table. She, and I quote, made it clear it is not okay to have anything except what is on the lunch menu. When pressed about a salad, she was short and rude. Maddie, on the other hand, had to cover for Lorrie's lack of ability to spend time with anyone not at the bar or in the kitchen. That young lady kept getting flagged down by tables to provide water and other resources. Thank you for being patient and kind to your fellow hostess co-worker. I didn't get her name, but, you two did a great job. Finally, here is the kicker. It wasn't that busy. Every server knows to keep circulating your area and checking for water, condiments, and food to expo out. Talking to your friends at the bar and neglecting your tables, while we all watched, was a poor move.

Yelp
Good food. Gawd awful service, for timeliness. The waiter was as helpful as he could be, I think. The waiter does not control the output from the kitchen. Our experience is similar to Cory's. We went for dinner. It took us 45 minutes and a few tables turning over near us that were empty when we sat down, before 2 of the 8 of us at our table decided to ask for the manager. Meanwhile, a waiter for another table fell and spilled French Fried potatoes coming from the 1st to the 2nd floor. The serving actions, for the other tables did not slow down much and the taters stayed on the floor,(all the workers and waitstaff just stepped over the mess) for at least another 30 minutes until one of us advised the manager that the taters on the floor were a safety issue. Duh........ I would have left if I had been driving. Alas, I was not. Neither the food nor the beer is so exceptional that customers should except this level of service. Summarizing, the manager's explanation was "growing pains". She was new, hired in last 2 weeks, so she said. Also the business is expanding so fast, that the kitchen is understaffed. Wait! Us customers can help solve this problem. Just stay away until they can work out the kinks. If the process is broken, fix it! Please. If you must go, do not go on a near empty stomach. Eat a snack before going to dinner. (Life is full of irony.) The cheese soup is excellent. Ask for a cup instead of a bowl if you only want a reasonable amount. The portion sizes tend to be huge. Unless you are a big eater, consider sharing meals, especially if you are a tourist like us and want to taste more that a one main entree.

Yelp
If you are a fan of beer you have to visit the most northern brewery in the United States. A short drive from Fairbanks, the large restaurant offers good food, friendly service and a large selection of beers. I can't comment on the food as I didn't eat but the beer was great. Be sure to clarify which brews are actually made in house as the beer list is so extensive, it was a little hard to tell.

Viet T.

Yelp
The price: a bit high like most other things in Alaska The location: middle of not much like most places The food: oh so good! Got the pesto halibut and it was effing awesome! The halibut was slightly on the salty side, but mellow creamy pesto pasta helped balance it out well. The potato halibut looked pretty good and the burger and fries were darn good as well. I later found a branch of the Silver Gulch in the Anchorage airport. Wonder if it is as good or if it has the same menu.

Yelp
If you're looking for some great local brews in Fairbanks, swing by Silver Gulch. I won't pretend to be *terribly* knowledgable about beer, but I do enjoy a crisp IPA now and then. Whatever I drank paired well with my pulled pork sandwich (pro tip: add blue cheese). Atmosphere was boisterous but not too loud, and everyone seemed to be having fun. Bonus points also for our server knowing damn near the entire menu.

Yelp
I came here one previous time and the food was good so I decided to bring my family here that was visiting Fairbanks. Bad choice on my part and I'm so embarrassed I had them come here. Here's how our dinner experience went: Waited 10 minutes for the hostess to ask someone else if we could be seated. Waited 30 minutes for the waiter to come to our table to ask us what drinks we wanted In the mean time we watched other tables be served and servers walk past our table without being acknowledged. Refrigerator was broken so the beers were warm, carbonation in the soda was out, and there most popular beers were gone. (Not the waiters fault but still annoying) 15 minutes after getting our orders to bring water and drinks. Another 20 to bring the appetizer. 30 minutes AFTER our appetizer was finished we had to ask our waiter to take our order. From there the food was brought at a normal time, but the service before hand was absolutely HORRID. I do have to say that the waiter was nice, but that doesn't make up for a 2.5 hour dinner.

Yelp
We've heard great things about here, but do not come here if you're colored. Despite the fact that they have colored people working here. We were sat down when we arrived but we were not welcomed by any server. It was fairly slow and there were several servers just pondering around. Yet, no one was willing to help us. Initially we thought they were just busy getting things ready but after 10 minutes had passed. Two separate fair skinned groups had sat down, one group beside our table, and another two tables down. They were greeted, meals ordered, and waters refilled. We tried acknowledging a server but she just looked at us and kept walking. We drove all the way from Anchorage to try this place and just to find out that we wouldn't be served based from the color of our skin. I'm sure the food is great here, I wish we had the chance to try it. However, if you're colored I would go else where.

Yelp
Us: "What is there for us to do as tourists in Fairbanks?" Bartender: manically laughing Apparently we are doing it as there's only drinking to do here in Fairbanks. As a vegetarian, I was not disappointed in the options provided by Silver Gulch. I got their Portabello Mushroom Sandwich and cajun fries and was satisfied. Their apple cider is also delish!

Yelp
It is well worth the drive to head northwest of Fairbanks Alaska to find this restaurant and brewery. What I noticed about Alaska is there are many great places but you have to ask the locals and go out to find them. They are usually tucked into places you would never look and are often remote. The same applies to Silver Gulch. From the outside the restaurant looks very rustic but on the inside it is very modern and provides a cozy atmosphere. On my last visit here I noticed this is a featured restaurant on the popular Food Network show triple D. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and I didn't have to wait long for my food. I ordered the French Quarter breakfast because I was looking for something unique with a different taste. The dish had two poached eggs, chorizo, fried potatoes, toasted bread (on the bottom), and covered in a semi sweet creamy sauce. The sauce was a little too abundant and on the heavy side, but apart from that is was a pretty good dish. The dish also had a slight hint of salmon even though there was no salmon in the dish. I purchased a growler of some of their local brew and it was pretty good. Overall verdict, 5 stars!

Yelp
Love it when people forget to write your reservation down then ask you to wait an extra half hour (they admitted to remembering taking the phone call for the reservation). Food took ONE HOUR and arrived COLD. This will be our last visit

Yelp
Other than the cool building and great wait staff this place does nothing for me in the way of beer or food. We ordered the nachos, blue bison burger, kids corn dogs, kids chicken strips. The nachos we're cold and the cheese was hard, they were out of the corn dogs and the chicken strips were over cooked and dry. The bison burger was delicious and the beer battered fries were absolutely amazing. I get that every place has it's off days but the last time we came here a year ago it was a similar situation. Maybe it was our fault for expecting more of place thats of it's caliber, not typical PUB cookery like we seem to get.Their wait staff is super helpful, nice, and attentive so that definitely helped with the overall experience.

Yelp
You will not have phone service when you get here, but it was a great off the grid dive. The IPA Fish and Chips were great. The Alaskan Hushpuppies were overrated. They offer "taster" sizes of all of their on tap brews. Definitely a hidden gem in Fox, Alaska.

Yelp
Just had the gorgonzola ribeye, garlic mash and fresh veggies. It was tender enough I could cut it with my fork and was perfectly cooked medium rare. Sides were great as well. But it just irritates me that bread doesn't come with many meals in Fairbanks. Its an extra $3. Steak should come with bread. But that's just me being petty or cheap so I cant take off a star for that. It just so happens that I was sitting at the bar chatting it up with the owner for over an hour. Of course I didn't know that till much later in the conversation. Great guy. After paying my tab he offered me a tour of the brewing operation which I gladly accepted. Very impressive. Ill definitely be back.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere, great service, great beers. Had a flight and asked server to pick out 5 different pours ranging from light to dark. He did very well, black lager was the best tasting (IMO). Classic burger with salad subbing in for fries, and a special request for an onion ring to "fall" on my plate. The onion ring was very good but I honestly didn't think I would get charged for it! In that case I should have splurged and got the whole order (which at the price per would have been about four). But still, best onion ring I've had and now getting hungry thinking about it.
