My first time in carmel and walked by this shop with my mom. The staff were super friendly and fantastic. All were super helpful in everything I asked regarding jewelry. If you’re visiting Carmel stop by and show support. You get a variety of everything and all unique gifts mainly made in Indiana. Will definitely visit again

Our first visit to Carmel and we really enjoyed this store. We spend a long time looking at all the fun stuff. Bought a gift and a free things for myself including a fun total eclipse 2024 item.

I’ve genuinely loved shopping at Silver in the City over the years. The staff is always warm, welcoming, and fun to interact with—it’s one of those places that makes browsing feel like a treat. That said, I’m giving 3 stars because of the quality of some of the jewelry I’ve purchased. This is the second time a bracelet has come apart, and I’ve had to replace a gold ring and a gold anklet due to tarnishing. I understand that not everything can last forever, but considering the price point, I expected better durability. It’s disappointing to invest in pieces that don’t hold up over time. I’ll continue to stop in for gifts and the great atmosphere, but I’ll be more cautious about the jewelry moving forward.

Ok now this is what I call “The stuff dreams are made of!!!!”. Just a chance visit while strolling around Arts district and my goodness Silver in the city has the cutest, prettiest, bestest (I know that’s not a word) and awesome collection of stones, jewelry, journals, book marks, oh and the stickers!!!, you name it! I don’t even have the complete list here. What we planned as 2 mins ended up into a 20 minute dive into Silver in the City world and trust me, so trust me that I wasn’t done yet but I had to head out just then. This one’s a keeper for anyone who wants unique and different gifts, for anyone who likes to hoard journals and for anyone who loves adoring their walls and tables with fancy stuff. Ah I could go on and go on but you get the gist! Go, go now!

I’m sure I’ll go back, because it’s a fun little store, but I didn’t appreciate the part, where my 8 year old daughter, and I were happily looking at some stuff and suddenly being stalked by one of the workers like we were abt to start stealing. I get people steal, and it’s probably an issue, but I’ve lived in Carmel my whole 50 years, and not interested in taking up a life of crime at this point. It’s insulting and makes for a bad shopping experience. Definitely changed my mind at spending any money there that night for sure.

Google
Awesome store! I don't like shopping, but I could spend hours in Silver in the City. The staff is always engaging, friendly, and helpful, but not smothering. They have time of fun, high quality merchandise and they price their products fairly. We always buy crazy, silly socks and retro tree ornaments for our family for Christmas Eve from this store. It's a great store and (bonus) we get to support a local small business!

Derrick C.

Google
A guy working behind the counter approached my 11-year-old daughter in front of her friend and her mom, and accused her of stealing a ring. My daughter is the sweetest most honest girl you’ll meet. She told him she did not steal it and then he had her show him where she put it back. Turns out he never even looked at the cameras before approaching her. That would have given him the answer. Won’t be back.

Google
I hope many folks see this review. I have been in the downtown store several times and have purchased items each time but the other day, in Carmel, it was not a good experience. First, I COMPLETELY understand the need to have security and door men/women and cameras all that. I used to work retail and understand it all. Shoplifting is awful, period. Here is the kicker though – treating ALL your guests as if they are potential shoplifters is not how you do business. Having the door guy FORCE you to greet him so he can get a good look at you is bad, having someone follow you around the store when there is zero indication that you are here to shoplift is bad, having someone stare you down while you look at the jewelry is BAD! The “security personnel” need a lot more training. I felt SO uncomfortable when I left after my purchase! I told my husband who was with me that I had a really uncomfortable vibe the whole time I was there. He totally agreed, he did too. Silver In the City, to me, is supposed to be fun, charming, light-hearted, cute boutique type store. The other day, it was none of those things. I don’t think I will be going back to either location.

Yelp
My daughter loves Silver in the City, so this is where I go when I want to pick her up a special gift. I usually shop at the store on Mass Ave, but I was in Carmel, so decided to check it out. The clerks were busy stocking shelves for Christmas when we entered, but welcomed us with big smiles. The shop seems a bit smaller that their other location, but still carries most of the same merchandise. They are known for their silver jewelry by various artists. Currently, they are featuring charm necklaces. An Indiana theme runs throughout the store with everything from Indiana necklaces to Indiana kitchen towels. It's a great place to pick up a gift with candles, art and even some local foods. I even saw a few toys and puzzles today for the kids. I was looking for a funny card and they have a small selection of cards but they were somewhat inappropriate to give a daughter. But they do have lots of crazy socks. There is street parking or parking behind the building.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience shopping at Silver In The City!! -- They have a wonderful, carefully selected selection of merchandise and their staff is incredibly pleasant and helpful! And they went above and beyond in correcting one of my orders. A true pleasure!

Yelp
Small store that quickly becomes overstuffed with EMPLOYEES on a busy shopping day. Give some folks the day off and allow customers to actually shop.

Yelp
I love this store and I try to shop here as often as possible. If I am looking for a unique gift for someone, Silver in the City is the place I hit up first. I found the "Neighborhoods of Indianapolis" poster at Silver in the City, and when I bought it, they helped me find a local shop where I could get it framed. They are serious about the "shop local" motto here! They really love keeping the dollars in the community, which I appreciate. There are so many fun and unusual things here, and even if I'm not buying anything, I like to drop in and browse to see what new products they have. This is a fun store with helpful staff that will help you find the perfect gift (or just something fun for yourself).

Yelp
If you ever need a funny, quirky, charming, or slightly-inappropriate gift - this is the store!!! I love this place! A great local store that offers beautiful gifts, local nick nacks, wonderful jewelry, and funny/punny items! I just bought two of my White Elephant gifts here - great for holiday shopping too!!
google avatar

Molly Z.

Yelp
My first time at this location. My husband and I stopped in and ended up spending a good 30-45 minutes looking at all the fun products they offer. This is the perfect spot if you're looking for unique, funny and thoughtful gifts. Tons of fun knick-knacks and beautiful pieces of dainty jewelry. I was looking for a notebook to journal in and I found 3-4 that I really liked. It was hard to choose! I appreciated the variety they offer. They offer local coffee beans from Indie Coffee Roasters- one of my favorites. Really looking forward to coming back to get some gifts for friends and family. All of the employees were very welcoming and helped answer any questions we had.

Yelp
I popped into Silver in the City during the Carmel International Arts Festival this year. My grandmother had expressed to one of the associates here that I was desperately searching for earrings that match my engagement ring. My engagement ring has a dark red ruby center stone, so finding earrings that match for my wedding has been a challenge. The associate (I wish I remembered their name) showed me their entire selection, and worked with me to find my perfect pair. They gushed over how beautiful my ring is and really made me feel like a lucky bride. I appreciate how lovely this experience was. I felt truly cared for by the staff here, and I can't wait to wear my earrings on my wedding day. Thank you!

Yelp
I've stopped in the other location before and was excited to check out this one too. Ideally located right on Main, it's a perfect spot. Greeted upon entry and even provided with a local map of other shopping areas, we wondered around taking everything in. You need to allow yourself time to take in the ambiance. There are so many treasures to spot in this store. Love the locally supported artists and it's near impossible to choose what to purchase. My favorite might be all the jewelry, but it could change the next time I pop by!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a MUST for unique gifts, cards, and even Indiana-specific goodies! Staff is always so welcoming and friendly, ready to answer any questions or even chime in when a second option on "this or that" is needed. I've lost track of the number of gifts I've sourced from the store, not to mention my stock piles of greeting cards to send when the occasion arises. While some items are from BlueQ, Dogeared, Unemployed Philosophers Guild, and others, the amount of local artists represented is what really takes the cake! The jewelry options are always worth browsing (and frequently end up in my purchases). Be sure to add a bag of "Just Pop In" with your purchase. The local popcorn shop always has deliciously addictive flavors to try out!
google avatar

April K.

Yelp
This place has something for any situation. I went today looking for an Indiana themed gift for some friends in Texas and found exactly what I needed. Their inventory goes way beyond Indiana themed things though. There are funny stationary, great jewelry, things to cook with, and a lot more! The place itself is a little crowded so social distancing wasn't too easy but I do think they did their best. What I did appreciate, however, is that during the checkout, they allowed me to bag my own items, keeping handling by them to a minimum. There is a good amount of parking behind the building as well, so be sure to check there if you aren't keen on parking on the street.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here a number of times, both locations. I love to take friends when they are visiting Indy! So cute and so fun. I always walk out with at least one treasure! And recommend to Indy as well, most don't know ab it! But I love it!
google avatar

Corliss H.

Yelp
This is a cute little store. They have lots of little things to look at and the staff is friendly. I like that they are open later than most stores in Carmel so you can stroll around inside after dinner. But I've never bought anything here. They have a few handbag lines but I've never found one I had to have (and that's saying a lot because I love small leather goods!). And they have cute silver jewelry but I've never felt compelled to buy anything. I've seen things that I thought would be cute gifts. Maybe I'm too old, or too traditional (not trendy enough) or too careful with my money. It's just not a store for me. But I could see myself getting gifts for my daughter or her friends. So if you're younger and hipper you may Love the store. The people are certainly nice.
google avatar

Sharon K.

Yelp
I LOVE this store! They have some hilarious/fun/quirky items that would be great for gifts... or for yourself. Love the vibe in the store, very laid back and open feel. I've gotten several Christmas and birthday presents for friends here. Always find something fun and they have unique pieces of jewelry too. Lots of locally made items as well if you like supporting local businesses. When I'm in search of unique gifts this is one of my go to stores.
google avatar

Kaitlyn S.

Yelp
No need to go downtown to get your eclectic fix of silver in the city! This is a great store right on main street in Carmel, it sits right next to the monon and easily walkable off the trail. Oh and they're dog friendly! Woo woo! They have just about everything and anything you can think of. Cool unique gifts for friends and family --or things you didn't know you needed. I personally got my brother a game of thrones adult coloring book here ha. Great customer service and a nice store to just browse for anything you may or may not need.
google avatar

Yelp
I was excited to hear Silver in the City had expanded to downtown Carmel (the original location is on Mass Ave). I checked it out on a day they were having a 25% off sale store wide, excluding locally made goods (which is what I wanted to check out. Womp womp). Silver has quirky knick knacks and other nicer "gag gifts" for that friend that's hard to shop for. Cute magnets, a nice jewelry selection, home goods, etc. I really wish they had more locally made products - I only spotted Best Chocolate in Town, PUP, and USI, but I probably missed some. I was also a bit frustrated that there were 3-4 women working behind the front counter and no one greeted me - and they just talked to each other the entire time I was in their store. I was just wanting to browse, but it would have been nice to be acknowledged and make sure I didn't need help.
google avatar

Sandra D.

Yelp
Fantastic customer service from the employees here. They have an abundance of silver jewelry and among other beautiful items. I plan to return.
google avatar

Yelp
What? I haven't reviewed my favorite store on the fave of the planet?? This place has everything (cue Stefan from snl), yummy candles, fine jewelry, rifle paper co. Products, Christmas, Indiana, Schitt's Creek, PUP gear, just pop in, EV. ER. Y. THING. This should be everyone's go to place for gifts, decor, and just treat yo self type items. The people are amazing. Friendly, sweet, helpful, and want to ensure your safety (COVID status). They love love, smiles, and good people. Check them out!
google avatar

Kurt W.

Yelp
I came in looking for a new necklace and all the employees were super friendly! Greeted on the way in and out very warmly. The employee who helped me locate the right necklace knew exactly what I needed just seconds after I described it. Michael who was at the register was extremely nice also.
google avatar

Chrissy C.

Yelp
I love this store! It's a must stop for me to check out all the new items and they always have new fun decor, gifts, and even clothes and jewelry! I always find something I just have to have and items I want to get for my friends and family. It's somewhat of a large space and they really fill in every inch with cute stuff! I am always greeted by someone when I come in and asked if I need help. I am often here the nights of the Gallery Walk so it can be busier, but I can still walk around without feeling too crowded and checkout has always been fast! My husband usually has to drag me out of the store since I always want to show him one more thing! If you are looking for a cute gift then I would make sure you stop here to check out all the fun things for sure! I really love all the Indiana themed stuff!

Em R.

Yelp
The jewelry has always been great in this store. And I love supporting local artists and businesses but I am not on board with supporting cheap products that are highly sacrilegious and borderline pornographic. This trend is hitting many local shops that support local but line shelves with made in China products that insult its customers. It has surrounded itself with really gross products making this store not a good place to take children. Christians, in particular Catholic holy items are mocked with our cross on products that also mock our Saints and God. Next to those items are sexual books, Satan tarot cards and symbols. and the f word on everything. It is just so disappointing to see this trend bring down the craft of the talented artisans in our city and reduce the moral fabric of society. In a world where you can get these things anywhere, why taint local art? And why insult religious groups. Broad Ripple shops are also degrading items of faith and family. It is disappointing. Stick to local art please.
google avatar

Paisley T.

Yelp
Love this shop! Oh my goodness...they have so many great things in here. All fun and creative. It's like gift-giving headquarters. Yup, I spent way too much money on random stuff that I just plain need to satisfy all my pretty little heart's desires. The staff are fun too. They helped me pick out items and offered complimentary gift wrapping too. Awesome sauce.
google avatar

Niki B.

Yelp
I'm thrilled that Silver in the City came to Carmel! Downtown Carmel was lacking interesting, walkable stores (it had super expensive boutiques, expensive art galleries...none which are approachable). But then a miracle happened. Silver in the City opened up by Bazbeaux Pizza on Main Street and brought their Indiana paraphernalia, funky jewelry, and unique gifts with it. Everything within the store is special and remains within a good price point. This store is a blast to browse and I don't think I've ever left without buying something. This is the hands-down, best place to get a gift for someone and is also located on Mass Ave in Indy.
google avatar

Bethany G.

Yelp
This is my favorite spot in Indy for unique gifts! This store is filled with unique gifts, jewelry, candles, and so much more! I always stop by any time I have a reason to shop for someone. I always leave with the perfect gift, and something for myself too! :) Recently I left with the cutest candle and a Valentines Day card. The staff is always super friendly and helpful and prices are really affordable. This store is a must if you're in the area!
google avatar

Katie R.

Yelp
Love shopping small here! This is such a fun, quirky store to browse around in. They have all sorts of cool, unique, fun and funny items that are great for gifts (or for gifting yourself!) Masks are mandatory here and strictly enforced which I appreciate. They also offer a really convenient curbside pickup option, which I took advantage of to save me a trip into the store during this busy time of year!
google avatar

Holly B.

Yelp
This is the cutest place with several unique & fun finds! The 2 people that helped me pick out a couple of souvenirs for my teen and tween kiddos were very charming
google avatar

April M.

Yelp
I'm so happy to have a Silver In The City in Carmel! Though the Mass Ave location is awesome too, this one has more space to shop and not be crowded with other people. All the merch is so cute, the staff are always so kind, and it's a bit quieter than the downtown location
google avatar

Abigail D.

Yelp
The best go-to gift spot in Carmel! I live nearby and constantly find myself stopping in to find the best new trinkets and fun gifting items. The sales staff is always super helpful and knowledgeable about the products. I really enjoy that many of the items are from local vendors, which means I am supporting more than just one small business! They are taking COVID precautions very seriously which is something I really appreciate as a customer. Definitely stop in if you are looking for unique pieces!
google avatar

Teah R.

Yelp
I've never been to this location, only Mass Ave, but this one is very similar to the other. The staff was friendly and my sister and I had a pleasant visit. Ended up buying some cute trinkets too!
google avatar

Rachel K.

Yelp
It's always fun to pop in Silver in the City when you need a fun gift or want to treat yourself to something different. They carry all kinds of jewelry, decor, candles, notebooks, curiosities, and whatnot. I never really know what I'm going to find in there. The staff is friendly and will help you find that perfect gift if you aren't sure what you're looking for. Street parking is your best bet for this location. A few free lots are around and a couple of new parking garages have gone up too. It's conveniently located on Main Street, right off the monon, along with many other locally owned businesses. Be sure to add this shop to your list when you're exploring the area.
google avatar

Marion D.

Yelp
What a neat shop. I always enjoy visiting on Mass Ave, but this was my first time at the Carmel location. It had everything I love about the downtown store: quirky and fun! I have never felt so at home in a store before. The staff are so inviting and friendly. I just love it here! They sell quite a variety of items, from kitchen towels to jewelry to baby clothes. If you're looking for a unique gift, this is where you'll find it. I especially appreciate that they support the LGBTQ community in such an unapologetic way. My partner and I have never felt so welcomed. They also support many local artists, selling handmade jewelry, clothing, and other knick-knacks. So fun!
google avatar

Alex U.

Yelp
This is a gem of a store. It has cute, trendy, and eclectic merchandise that is sure to make you smile. The staff is always friendly and attentive but not too over bearing. If you need a gift for someone, this would be the shop to stop in. They have jewelry, socks, books, knickknacks, and everything in between. Check it out! (Masks required at this time)
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
Cue "The Schuyler Sisters" from Hamilton: "There's nothing like [Silver in the City]." Tee hee. There's something for everyone at Silver in the City. From fine jewelry to funny socks with expletives on them, you can cross off virtually everyone on your holiday shopping list. I'm so glad that it came to downtown Carmel, adding something affordable in the midst of expensive boutiques and galleries. I can't wait to come in for Small Business Saturday this coming Thanksgiving! The staff is attentive without being smothering, something I can really appreciate. There was a fun shirt design I really wanted, but the Carmel location didn't have the size I needed. With a quick phone call, they called down to the Mass Ave location and the folks there had what I needed and put it aside for the earliest I could make it down there.
google avatar

Meredith S.

Yelp
Love this store! Also like the location in Carmel - it's more convenient for me since I work up here. Their assortment of unique gifts is really second to none. I always know that I can find something for a birthday or Christmas present when I'm stumped as to what to get someone. Great selection of local, Indiana gifts too. Also, what candles are they always burning?? This store always smells so good!! If you're not careful, you can easily throw down quite a chunk of change, but the gifts are so fun that it's worth it. Definitely a can't-miss stop if you're looking for gifts.
google avatar

Kayla A.

Yelp
My go to store for gifts and cards! Their assortment of hilarious cards for any occasion always gives me a good laugh. They also have an amazing jewelry collection. I usually go in to buy a gift and end up leaving with something for myself!
google avatar

Allegra U.

Yelp
Silver In The City is a signature shop in Indianapolis. They have the most friendly staff, and their items are to die for. Everything is so unique, cute, corky, and entertaining. They have something for everyone! It is not just a female oriented store, as some would expect. They have items for cooking fanatics, pet lovers, drinking fans, and much more! This is a go-to place for the holiday shopping and other events. But beware, you'll most likely end up buying everything for yourself!
google avatar

Chelsea C.

Yelp
I love going downtown to walk around Mass Ave. but this new location for Silver in the City has me never needing to leave Carmel again! SITC is my go-to place for unique birthday gifts and mindless browsing when I'm in the mood to shop for myself. As soon as you walk in, it's very hard not to buy everything in sight. They support local businesses and entrepreneurs (United State of Indiana, etc.) and they have many "Hoosier" items! I limit my visits because I literally love everything that there is to buy in SITC. Customer service is great and they have dog treats for your pup if you happen to bring them in...which they are very welcome!
google avatar

Tabatha S.

Yelp
Love this place! It's just a good place to get lost in on a weekend or to grab a friend a gift! Super random, but my favorite thing here is their to-do lists. All different kinds and I try to go in every other month or so to grab a new one.
google avatar

Allison B.

Yelp
What a cute shop! I stopped in one night last week to find some last minute Christmas gifts and really found something for everyone left on my list. They have a wide array of cute and trendy items including things for the home and baby. Lots of cute jewelry and accessories in the store as well. Gifts for men are fewer and farther between but they do have a pretty good selection of things targeted more toward guys. One of the things I really like about the store is that they seem to keep things really fresh. They had a ton of seasonal items for the holidays and I feel like I find something new I like every time I'm in there. The view from outside the shop is killer. Once you see their window displays and the bright, modern treasures behind, you can't help but pop in to browse. As far as the staff, they're friendly, knowledgable about their merch, and professional. I recently had to return an item that I bought that I noticed was slightly damaged. The exchange was no problem even though I had already removed the tag. I appreciated the fast and understanding service at this busy time of year. One of the best shops in Carmel, hands down!
google avatar

Eden S.

Yelp
My new favorite store in Carmel! I love everything in here! So cute! From Yoga booklets, to hippy cookbooks, to swearing coloring books, to cool jewelry, I legit loved it all!! I cannot wait to go back!
google avatar

Shannon D.

Yelp
If you're looking for a unique gift for a special someone, this place should be your first stop. The selection that they offer is expansive and ranges from the quirky, eclectic side to the sentimental side. Even better, the staff is attentive and helpful. My daughter lives down the street and visits the store rather frequently, and the night that I visited, we stopped by only about 20 minutes before closing time. Instead of feeling rushed or "man, I wish they'd get out of here so we can get closed up", they went out of their way to answer questions and to look for a particular national parks that we asked about. Silver In The City is pure gold!

Sally F.

Yelp
This store is a perfect place to find gifts! Their jewelry selection is vast with very well priced sterling silver pieces. There are some very unique designs and they have a nice assortment of studs. I bought a couple of pairs and they have held up really well. They also sell cute socks, cards, mugs, books, and even Swedish dish cloths! I came out purchasing more than I anticipated but I'm so glad that I did. Everyone loves their gifts. The staff is also very friendly but not pushy. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Kira T.

Yelp
This place just makes me feel all sorts of happy. I have seen them on facebook but didn't realize they had a location in Carmel. I was sad when Mass Ave on Main closed and this pretty much is the same thing. Lots of Indiana vendors in one place. I bought the coolest cookie cutter shaped like the state of Indiana, which I've already used. The prices are mostly reasonable. The jewelry is a little overpriced for what it is, but I understand that it's all hand stamped and made. I would like to see more Indiana vendors in there, there were a few out of state ones and it would be cool to see it totally dedicated to the Hoosier state. But I've already been back twice in a week to shop for more goods! I have a feeling they'll get to know me really well!
google avatar

Rto A.

Yelp
Stopped in while I was in town. There were several Indiana themed pieces that were different and new. I particularly liked their take on tshirts. Quality seems good and the designs are different -- if you want to pay $25 for a tshirt. My major objection is the store's responsibility to the community it serves -- particularly parents. Throughout the store are many items that carry profanity. I'm not a prude by a long shot but I believe that if children are allowed in a store, merchants have an obligation to provide a suitable shopping experience. I would suggest moving things above eye level but I don't think that would solve the problem.

Deanne O.

Yelp
Love both locations. So friendly. Fun merchandise. Love the tshirts and jewelry. Perfect for gift shopping.

Natalie D.

Yelp
I love the items in this shop and would love to spend some time comfortably browsing. However, the staff are clearly trained to see customers as potential shoplifters, and while I understand needing to prevent that, it makes for a really uncomfortable environment. Recently I had occasion to go to the shop twice in a short period of time. The second time, I felt like especially awkward. They just sit up at the big desk watching your every move, if not coming up to ask if they can help you and hovering like that, all while they have posted signs warning you that you're on camera. It's also rather quiet and they don't talk much. Like it's not welcoming at all and makes me feel like a criminal when I'm actually there to spend money! I'd love to just look at all the cool stuff. Spend an hour trying on rings and looking at the local handmade necklaces. Instead, I try to be very quick in my decision making so i don't seem to linger. It's unfortunate because it's a cool store with lots of great gifts for yourself or someone else.
