This is a great place to go with kids, the property is stunning and the owner is so helpful and informative. We took the walk to the silver mine, they provide gum boots. My boys loved sloshing into the cave and saw glow worms and cave spiders-not poisonous. Saw a platypus in the dam. Heated pool is lovely after a long walk. We loved it. Rooms are very clean and well equipped. Short drive to Cradle Mountain and handy to IGA at Sheffield.

An amazing 4 night stay at Silver Ridge Retreat. The cottages have an old school cosy and homey feel to them with all the modern facilities needed. Our beds were comfortable, views were magnificent and we loved the custom wooden features in the cottages from wood milled on property. The animals were wonderful and so friendly for kids. The front dam is the place to be for stunning sunsets and a sneaky peak at the resident platypus. Pool was great and a lovely place to swim in the evening. Our hosts were the best we have had on our travels with lots of advice and information on things to do and see, the animals, on and off property walks. We did not want to leave to go home but was a perfect ending to our Tassie holiday. A MUST place to stay with the kids and an easy drive to Cradle, Devonport, Stanley, Launceston and anywhere in between

Beautiful location with so much to see on the property & the view of the mountain from our cabin windows just amazing! Lovely owners, clean & comfortable relaxing cabins. Great spot to head out to Cradle Mountain and lots of other bush walks & attractions. We will definitely stay again one day.

Lovely cabin in a beautiful location. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff. Beautiful views. The cabins are functional (wood panels/small TV) but what you would expect - water was hot and there were plenty of heaters and blankets to keep warm. Pool was also a nice bonus.

We stayed here for the first two nights of our Tasmania trip. The environment and service were excellent. John was very friendly and welcoming, and he introduced us to the surroundings of the accommodation. It was a pity that we arrived a bit late on the first night and missed the beautiful sunset, and it rained the next day. But overall, we were still very happy with our stay and not disappointed at all.

We had such a lovely stay at Spa Cottage! The place is super comfortable and has everything you need, including a kitchen if you feel like cooking. It's also really convenient—just 10 minutes from Sheffield with shops and restaurants. The kids absolutely loved it here, especially with all the animals around—chickens, a platypus, cows, and even a horse! We also did the silver mine hike and a night walk with our host, and were lucky enough to spot a Tawny Frogmouth in the wild! You’ll need a few more days to really enjoy all the walking trails around the property. With Cradle Mountain just 45 minutes away, this is the perfect place to stop and explore before heading there. John and his family were so warm and welcoming. Our family truly enjoyed our time here—thank you for making our first trip to Tasmania a memorable one!

Delightful property & host. Loved the pool & spa. Being at the base of 1234m Mt Rowland was awe inspiring. Had wallabies and a chicken walk past the bedroom window & incredible mountain views.

Very thoughtful of the property to provide informative details on the surroundings like where to eat and where to buy necessities. The rooms are also very private, no disturbance from others. The property is also has very beautiful scenery.

Yelp
We stayed in one of the cabins for 3 nights. The staff were exceptionally friendly and took time to talk about a variety it activities available on site. We took advantage of the cave hike to see a few glow worms. We were excited to see a platypus in one of the ponds. What a great time. 5 adults were in our party.
