My husband and I had a wonderful time in Juneau. The Silverbow Inn was conveniently located for all of our needs. Clean room and comfortable bed. Having coffee and danishes for a quick breakfast was perfect. No elevator but helpful hosts to help with your luggage.

Google
Great location for walking around Juneau, but being far enough away from the cruise ships. Rooftop deck is wonderful, even in the misty rain. Didn't use the hot tub, but sign up sheet is such a thoughtful feature. Loved the single serving 1/2 avocados and the egg bites at breakfast. I had one of the larger king suites (it might have been the only thing available when I booked), and I heard not a peep from anyone else in the hotel. There were outside noises, but nothing I couldn't drown out with music. And they provide earplugs. It was expensive, but so is everything in Alaska. And it was worth it to stay in a place with such character and great service.

Great location and the cutest place. We were able to walk everywhere in downtown Juneau that we wanted to go to. The hotel is in an older building and us people from hot climates need a little AC. We kept our windows open the whole time and it was nice. They had hot tubs on the roof and it was a great view from there. Do note with it being an old building there’s no elevator and you have to carry all your luggage upstairs. There was snacks and breakfast listed but we didn’t find anything we cared for. I would recommend this hotel and enjoyed our stay there.

Great location. Clean and a friendly staff. Large variety of food with the free breakfast. Warm cookies and/or scones waiting for you every time you returned from an adventure. Easy access to building and room. Centrally located, close to downtown. Great place to stay.

All the right touches… |Lobby is fun/comfortable/great…|Hot tubs overlooking the channel/city 👍. |Staff were friendly/helpful/professional without being overbearing.|The room was small but comfortable and clean. |My family had a great experience during the Alaska Folk Festival and the hotel was part of that great experience.

Wonderful boutique hotel. I think we lucked out Getting a room. I swear they were booked up when I first check months ago. We got lucky and got a room. They were so nice. The place is beautiful. There was no view from our room, but the hot tubs on the roof have amazing views. They provide breakfast and snacks. The food was great. I'm still missing the scones and the biscotti (yummmm). They have a lovely front room. We spent time just chilling there with the fake fireplace. Do note they don't have an elevator and you might be on the 2nd or 3rd floor. They were so nice about helping get the bags up and down. They are in a fantastic location close to everything.

I wish I had read reviews more thoroughly before staying here because there are no refunds. This hotel is not ADA compliant. It has no elevator and steep stairs. The lobby is unstaffed, so there is no help with getting the bags upstairs either. We were let in by another guest who seemed disgruntled and said it was all "do it yourself." This also applies to making your own bed, which has a stack of pillows and blankets on it. The bed is tall and it would have helped to have steps to it. The tub/shower is also tall. ||I travel frequently, and it's the first time I've encountered a hotel with accessibility issues like this in the U.S. It is a super cute hotel, and it would be a lot better if it could be accessible to people of all abilities.

Google
Amazing. Everything you want in a boutique hotel. Nice and clean, breakfast was delicious. Fresh scones & cookies there waiting for you when you return from your adventure. Heather was so friendly and accommodating - she made the stay so special.

Yelp
Every time I stay here I love it even more. The customer service is always on point. They treat you like family and it's great. The jacuzzi is awesome.

Yelp
I love this place. It's got such a unique and wonderful personality that is only matched by the wonderful lady that has been running the front desk since we've stayed. The rooms are warm and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with comforts reminiscent of home. You can tell they want you here, and they want you to feel at home. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
What a cool little hotel right in the heart of Juneau! Easy walking distance to everything, and the nicest staff! We played board games in the lobby and it was the perfect way to end the night! Fair warning to light sleepers though, very thin walls!

Yelp
Silverbow Inn WELCOMES COVID WITH OPEN ARMS!!! Today we were on our way to Juneau from a nearby fishing town. We booked our stay only 30 hours in advance. 24 hours before check in, at about 2:00 pm today were notified that we had been recently exposed to someone with COVID where we were previously accommodated. We felt the urgency and responsibility to call Silverbow Inn and notify them about the circumstance. The concierge specialist on the phone with me gave what seemed to be understanding and asked for my credit card information. I was assuming so that we could be refunded, as we called to inform of the exposure and hopefully cancel our reservation for the safety of the other guests and staff. When I asked what the card information was for, she THEN told me that she used it to charge me an "amenities fee" of $20. Weird as I had not authorized charges, but thought I would be receiving a partial if not full refund. Instantly my amex notified me of a $273.15 charge from Silverbow Inn. I then confronted her with my frustration of a whole new accommodation charge. She then explained that she was going to refund and "fix" the issue just for me and instead I slapped with an ADDITIONAL $222.00 charge on top of the previous one! Mind you -- I had already paid the full amount for the stay upfront. The gal then proclaimed that there would be no refund, partial refund, and to insist we utilize our stay, knowing well we had been exposed to someone who had tested positive!!! I then clearly have had enough of this poor execution from a the Silverbow Inn staff. My next request was to speak with a manger or someone in upper management immediately to rectify this avalanche of mistakes. In a soft whisper I hear " they want to speak to a manger", then the same gal after a long pause unconvincingly claims she is the "manager", hmmmm..... not so fast I called her out for exactly what I heard her whisper as she clearly thought she was being sly. (Insert SUPER AWKWARD PAUSE) Then some audible muffles as the phone gets shuffled over to whom they now claim is the " real manager"? This gal then decided to give me a whole spiel on how the previous staff member was current manager in training and that today was in fact her last day so she is a "co-manager" , in my head I can't believe that they are going to pass over the management roll to someone who clearly charges credit cards without authorization not once but TWO TIMES on top of insisting to come stay at their accommodations knowing well that we had been exposed to COVID. Moral of the story, Silverbell Inn cares about the profit of a SINGLE NIGHT reservation over the safety of it's employees and guests. The staff execution is a direct reflection of the management and do not in any way shape or form take care of guests NOR the mistakes like any other host would for the $$$ your paying for a reservation. Stay FAR AWAY FROM THE SILVERBOW INN!!!

Yelp
There were Mice in the walls the last night we were there. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely disgusting. Rooms seemed clean but if you looked closely at anything you would get itchy, especially in the common area. The whole place really needs a good scrub down. Dave was an absolute jerk. He's the guy that runs the place. I've never felt so unwelcome at an Inn before. Not only did he just stand around at the window and watch us struggle to get inside while it was very windy and cold out (just open the door, you know us by name and only 3 other couple staying here, not a lot to remember) but he then told us about how he was waiting to get out of work. Thanks, Dave. We feel so welcome. One day the service person came at 830 am to clean the room, another day they didn't come at all, and a different day they didn't come until 2pm! Absolutely nothing to count on. But there was a jacuzzi. That was nice. It was weird that it was right next to someone's slider door. It Would be better if there was a little more privacy! We had the "biggest and best" room there. It was basically a glorified Hostel with mice and Dave. Finally, the bed was terrible. The first night I was too tired to notice but every other night was torture. I had to take the plush thing off because my back hurt so much in the morning.

Yelp
I tried to change my reservation before my stay. But unfortunately, Airbnb server was down. I explained the situation to the manager and asked if we could change it when I arrived. She then told me that the owners refused to change the reservation because my stay had started. And if they changed it, the owners would lose $50. So because they didn't change it I instead lost $250 and paid for an extra day when I wasn't there. I grew up in Juneau and frequently visit. I have fond memories of Silver Bow bakery. I was actually looking forward to this stay. But I have to say I am very disappointed in Silverbow's lack of customer service. It seems to me that the owners are not concerned with helping their customers or their satisfaction for that matter. I will not be staying at the Silverbow again.

Yelp
My husband called and made a reservation on 8/19/23 in the afternoon after viewing the rooms online. Tina made the reservation and told us that we could cancel within 24 hours with no fee. Tina quoted the room higher than what it was priced on their website. She said that they could discount it 10%. But the invoice emailed to us was higher that what was priced on their website and no discount. At 10:30am on 8/20/23 my husband called to cancel. Heather took the call and hung up on him right after he gave her the information to cancel with no confirmation or sign off. He called back thinking it was a mistake, but she said that she thought he was done and that's why she hung up. She then told him that it's a $100 fee for anything canceled within a week. He explained that Tina had told him he could cancel the next day. But she just kept parroting that this was their policy. Please note that the policy is different during the "off season," so there is obviously some flexibility here. We'll be contesting the $100 charge thru our CC company. My advice would be to communicate via email so there is full transparency. As a local who has visitors come here every year, it's a shame that this local business is so unprofessional.

Yelp
This worked out perfectly for me. On check-in, the proprietor was kind enough to review all features of the B&B so that it felt like home. Guests have the run of the kitchen 24 hours daily, which was great for me since my body woke me up at 2 AM (6 AM ET). So I got up, made some coffee and got most of my work done, then had time for a workout and a self-guided tour off Juneau. The breakfast is self-serve this time of year, but there were many good choices, including: eggs; bread/toast; yogurt; waffle and pancake mix and an espresso machine where you had to push only a single button. The room was nice and quiet, the room temperature was perfect and the big, down comforters kept me warm all night. Bathroom was well appointed, with all of the toiletries you might need - even mouthwash! Although I didn't use it, they also have a great rooftop jacuzzi which could be nice after a day of walking the hills of Juneau. The location is perfect, with many restaurants, shops and bars within a couple of blocks. If you have business at State of Alaska offices, many of them are within two blocks as well.

Yelp
This boutique hotel (11 rooms) was a mixed experience, but I would stay there again. Let me start with the positive. The location is fantastic, couldn't be better, yet there's no street noise, as it's on a side street. Very comfortable bed. The building has been renovated; the wiring and bathroom are new and our tub had jets. The lobby and breakfast area, though small, are redone and there is an area that looks like a small kitchen, minus stove. There is a hot tub on a roof patio; robes are provided. It has something of a bed-and-breakfast to it; the owner and her three children live on the premises. From the colors of the towels, the nice glasses in the bathroom, a makeup mirror that extends (see photo), a very wide variety of toiletries, many small details reveal painstaking care and thoughtfulness. Breakfast was watermelon, brie, two types of quiche, a self-serve waffle-maker with whole-wheat batter, hot oatmeal, bagels, fresh-ground coffee, a few of what looked like small bagels. (The bagel bakery next door has closed, as has the wine bar, mentioned in previous reviews.) One morning there were chocolate-chip cookies baking in a toaster-oven. The staff could have not been more courteous and helpful. Negatives: it is pretty noisy. The original wooden beams creak every time someone walked (or a child ran) the corridor in front of our second-floor room. Walls are thin. Earplugs are on the night table. Our room's window faced the hot tub and we heard all the conversation. Easily fixed: no bedside lights. There is a fixture on the wall above the bed, but it's hard to reach if you're lying in bed (see photo). Wifi was 2 mhz for all the guests to share, which isn't much. Room was very awkward. No chair to watch tv, the two chairs there were were almost useless (see pictures). Bakery has closed. Nice tub with 8 jets, but to get soap for a bath I had to get out of the tub, wet, to go find soap over the toilet. (All the products at the tub were for showering.) There is a patio on the roof, with a hot tub, but you can't smoke there, outdoors (prominent sign), even if you're the only one there. Owner is cannabis-hostile, other employees told me. I would recommend removing the antique furniture in the second floor hall.

Yelp
Great hotel with lots of fun personality. Lots of little touches throughout to make your stay in Juneau memorable and comfortable: info and assistance on local attractions, bathrobes and flip flops for trips to the hot tub, excellent restaurant recommendations, etc. I could go on and on. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
As a security professional I notice things at businesses most wouldn't which I won't post all for the sake of the business. I am very hesitant on addressing them all at once I have seen some of the responses from the staff for other reviews and plainly they don't seem to care. I will leave the false advertisements and pure deception complaint for Better Business Bureau. I am posting this in hopes to alarm others and I do want to get the hotels attention I hope this opens their eyes, the hotel is a ghost town I haven't seen any staff at all. ITS A CROOKS PARADISE they leave their security keys in the security system, they have a drop box for money in plain sight, they leave the front desk completely unattended leaving access to anyone, code information and other areas are open to all, there is obviously no one watching the cameras or doesn't want to be bothered by their guests with which how old the building is seems like a safety concern the fireplace has been on for 2 days just an example. You as the guest are left to your own devices no matter how depraved or honest they might be. Basically I wouldn't be surprised if I saw a crime documentary about Silverbow Inn on Netflix!! Who knows that might be what they are going for.

Yelp
My dear tourists, If you see the word "BOUTIQUE" take my word and run. Never in my life did I see such a deceitful description of a run down, old, nightmarish place. Save your sanity and money and book a trusted hotel. The owners try to squeeze the last penny from the customers and they don't put one penny in the rehab of this shack. I was very close to call the Fire Department on them because of many violations there, like several extension cords plugged in series in one outlet, cluttered hallway with "vintage" wardrobe closets that probably cost too much to dispose of etc. I'm sorry but I can't stand deceivers. I will definitely never stay there again. Dirty, outdated and substandard. Don't believe the reviews from the snowflakes.

Yelp
Had started our stay at a different hotel and moved over here. So glad we did. More amenities, friendlier staff, nicer rooms, and less expensive. More attention to detail in the room and cleaner, despite being older. Creaky floor boards and thin walls, but everyone was asleep by 1, so it was pretty quiet. The foyer and wine bar just completed a renovation, and it's nice. Provided soap and lotion in dispensers, and the shower had a radio bug so you could listen to tunes. Plush - if short - robes and towels provided for the outdoor jacuzzi. Surprisingly comfortable beds, despite fluffy but insubstantial pillows. Really creative and thorough guide book for visitors suggesting four days of fun touring options. Already in the heart of downtown, and next door to the Zephyr restaurant. Very very nice. 4.5 because it's not the Park.
google avatar

Molly N.

Yelp
Such a great place to stay!! There is so much thought put into everything, like make-your-own waffles and umbrella hats at the hot tub. And I loved the robes - felt so fancy!! I'd definitely stay here again and recommend everyone check it out.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has gone down hill since my last visit. The carpet was dirty with stains and the little desk was grimy. Dust covered the headboard and there was hair in the bathroom. The TV would not work and when I told the front desk, she said she'd come check it out when she was done eating her bread. Seriously? She never showed up. The front desk girl kept telling me she didn't know what she was doing because she didn't normally work the front desk. She was very nice but not too helpful. The Inn only has three parking spots so good luck with parking. It's a parking nightmare in downtown Juneau. I think next time I will try a different hotel.

Yelp
Booked two rooms out of 11 rooms in this boutique hotel. It was a wonderful stay for our family...four adults and a teen, although I won't recommend it for small children. The rooms are small(ours looked out on to the deck/hot tub) which only motivated us to get out and see the sights. So many things within walking distance...the Capitol, cruise ship dock and lots fof restaurants and shopping. We especially enjoyed the common area as a gathering place for a late night snack and a breakfast bar for our "early" morning flight back to Wisconsin. Hope you get to Juneau and the Silverbow soon! m

Yelp
Best choice in our stay. Silverbow is super accomidating and the staff is awesome. You get your breakfast free from the bakery and the food is way better than anything you could get from a continental breakfast. Our room was quite quaint for the price but the upgrade aren't really that much more. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for adventure and experience from Juneau but not someone looking for luxury. The only thing I'd change would be to keep the bar open later in the night for guests so we could have somewhere other than a loud bar or our little rooms to hang out during the winter nights. They do have a hottub on a balcony too but there's an office with a guy sitting right behind it so it's sorta awkward.

Yelp
Nice enough property. Close to downtown shopping and restaurants,

Yelp
Hands down- the best place to stay in downtown Juneau. Whether I am here for business or visiting family or folk festival, SilverBow is the lovely home away from home I always look for in a place to stay. The decor is modern and quirky without being pretentious. The staff are warm and relaxed The owners have thought of EVERYTHING you might need, from yummy breakfasts and snacks to robes and slippers to q-tips and bath salts. Enjoy Juneau and feel pampered, stay here.

Yelp
The Silverbow and I go way back. I won't tell you how many of their bagels I ate back when the bakery existed, but let's just say I gained a modest bit of weight. Almost seven years after leaving Juneau I embarked on my first return visit, and it was a no-brainer that I would stay here. The location is unbeatable as are the rates. In case you can't guess, Juneau is dead in the off-season. I figured it would just be me and the ghost of Gus Messerschmidt keeping each other company, but there were actually a few other guests. With so few mouths to feed, you're in charge of making your own basic breakfast, the staples being waffles, eggs, and sausages. Everything you need to do so is provided and clearly labeled, but it would have been nice to have even one prepared hot dish. Coffee, tea, and nibbles are always available. The inn itself is just darling and the eclectically decorated lobby is so warm and inviting. I booked myself a queen room and got upgraded to a king room at no additional charge. The room was smallish but nicely furnished and overlooked 2nd Street, which was mostly quiet except for when garbage trucks did their thing in the wee hours of the morning. While annoying, that gigantic bed was pure magic and so snug that I fell right back to sleep each time. Jill and crew were usually not in the lobby but always available by phone if anything popped up. I rented a car for one day and they were quick to hook me up with a permit to park in the tiny lot next door. I'm aware my off-season experience was rather subdued compared to what the on-season has to offer, which is true of Juneau as a whole. What can I say, I love oddball vacations. Whenever you find yourself here, you simply have to stay at the Silverbow. It's an icon in the downtown area and offers the most charismatic and non-touristy accommodations. Now, if only they'd bring back those dang bagels.

Yelp
I made reservations for 4 nights & checked in within a few hours. Talk about hospitality!! They accommodated me in every way. Room was clean, comfy, & had everything I needed. Hotel lounge/snack area covered the rest. I worked remote there & had zero issues with WiFi. Central downtown location made it easy to find food, fun, arts, shops, necessities, etc. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Boutique: Optional housekeeping; radiator heat (no fan - good luck in the summer); TV audible through walls; inconsistent shower temp.; absent management during night (safety) when guests went berserk for hours (zero sleep, almost called police). I'm a 1M mile traveler who would NEVER return to this "boutique" inn.

Jordan M.

Yelp
Great stay. Rooms clean and bed comfy. Had a great system for checking in without talking to a employee. Let me borrow many space heaters to dry clothes and shoes. Hot tub was functional and fun to be outside.

Yelp
After staying near the airport the first night, I found this place for my second nights stay in Juneau and stayed here for the rest of my trip. It's a neat little eccentric bread and breakfast that had me really feeling like I was experiencing a true Alaskan adventure. Tons of little extras and attention to details, as well as neat art. Very convenient as its within walking distance of everything downtown. They've got a great selection of Alaskan travel books, board games, and free indie movies Monday through Wednesday. There's an art exhibit attached to the catering/deli counter, and it's all you can eat in the deli included with your room. The salmon bagels were great. There's a steam sauna and hot tub on the roof, which is also free for guests. Lots of different teas, and free Wifi as well as a dedicated computer for guests. I paid $99/night for our first night, with a little bit of an upcharge for the remaining nights. It's the best deal in town, as far as I could tell. They take care of their guests. When we had to leave early to catch a flight, they prepared a custom breakfast to go and kept it in their guest refrigerator. If you catch fish, they'll freeze it for you for a small fee.
google avatar

Jim R.

Yelp
Charming, eccentric and a great breakfast. The rooms are small, but well cared for. On the flip side, while the owner is very pleasant and helpful others on her team seem to be just the opposite. Also note that this place is not great for those who have ADA needs.
google avatar

James Q.

Yelp
Loved this place. As another reviewer put it, I'd give it five stars if the rooms were a little larger. However, it's great. The staff is fabulous. There's a really cool breakfast every morning and an awesome bakery right next door. There's a nice deck with a hot tub. It's right downtown, but far enough away from the cruise ship d-bags that you don't have to deal unless you want to venture over to tourist hell. But my favorite part was the restaurant and bars guide in the lobby. It contained commentaries that were frank, funny, and right on the money (I didn't meat that to rhyme). Seriously, if you're going to Juneau you should stay here.

Yelp
A colleague and I recently stayed at the Silverbow Inn for four days. I won't stay anywhere else in Juneau now that I've seen what they offer. They provide a lot of the conveniences that you have at home and the place simply feels comfortable. The staff was prompt and courteous. The rooms were very thoughtfully done, with a lot of unusual little details covered (such as providing Q-tips, etc.). The Inn provided not only a stellar breakfast at the bakery/bagel shop below as part of their fee (each day), but also included free coffee around the clock, which I certainly appreciate. I also needed and used the free wi-fi. They had several different routers so there were no spots that lacked a clear and fast connection. It was a great stay and I was able to eat a power meal each day, keep my caffeine status full, and stay on top of all of my business.

Yelp
Silverbow Inn rocks - it is the coolest place to stay in Juneau-- the staff is friendly and makes you very comfortable -- the cookie jar is great too- (delicious goodies all day and night)- the soup and bread is fantastic in the cafe( and I know good soup and bread living in Berkeley) Jill and Ken make you feel right at home and close to everything---this is the place to stay---I will go back next summer for my stay in Juneau. I highly recommend the Silverbow Inn- ( and I have not even tried the jacuzzi yet which Jill and Ken's 'son highly recommended to me)--Go For It- Dan- in berkeley

Yelp
I still like it here. This time I was in 202 (top of the stairs). There was a major remodel of the lobby since my last visit. Very cool! The room charge of $194/night included free breakfast from the Silver Bow Bakery and a glass of house wine. Price seemed a little high compared to the rate at the Baranof for $119/night during the same time. It's cute and homey. Had it been less expensive I would have stayed the whole trip here instead of moving after 1 night.

Yelp
The Silverbow Inn is a super place to spend one or a few nights when in Juneau. The location, set up, food, design, staff and overall feel are fantastic! The the owner Jill and her team go out of their way to make guest feel at home and truly do anticipate anything you may need, want or should want. Don't expected a typical city business hotel or sleepy B&B. Silverbow is much cooler and appropriate for Juneau than either of those options. The one downside for us is that Silverbow no longer has its bakery and legendary bagels - too bad. Give Silverbow a try when you find yourself in Juneau.

Yelp
Will stay again for sure. This will become my hotel choice when I'm in Juneau. Great location, cute, comfortable clean rooms. Front desk staff was attentive and helpful. It was great to receive breakfast coupons for the bakery every morning and complimentary glass of wine per day of your stay! The room key was a bottle opener. How very convenient. Didn't take advantage of the hot tub, but what a great option to have. Oh and the complimentary tea or coffee all day from the bakery sure was a nice treat between meetings. Can't wait to return to the Silverbow!

Kathleen H.

Yelp
We stayed here during a recent trip to Juneau and really enjoyed it. I would give it a 5-star rating if the rooms were a bit larger. They do the best with the space they have (numerous hooks and under the bed storage), but I sometimes felt like I was right on top of my husband. They have a rooftop deck that has a large, clean hot tub. They have robes available for you to borrow for the hot tub. They also have a cute 2-person sauna (probably very nice on a cold Juneau day). Every night they have a complimentary wine and cheese tasting - you just sign up and show up at 5PM. The wines and snacks change daily. We did this twice during our stay. Breakfast is a smorgasboard of bagels/cream cheeses and baked goods from their bakery next door. You can also make waffles or toast. Coffee and tea are available 24/7. There is a refrigerator in the breakfast area that you can snack from whenever you like. They often put in a yummy cake of some sort in there as well. The downstairs area has a computer with internet access (they also have wireless access in your room). There is also a full library of Juneau and Alaska books. During the week they show free movies in their back room where you can order pizza and beer. This looked really cool but we were unfortunately not able to make it during our stay. The bakery next door has awesome cookies - definitely check them out. My favorite was the ginger cookie. The inn is downtown, close to everything, but just enough off the beaten path to be quiet and less hectic than the cruise ship dock area. Staying here was a great experience and one that I would highly recommend.

Yelp
Silverbow Inn definately had a woman's touch on its interior decorating for this bed and breakfast lodging. There were reading materials available in the common hallway upstairs. The hearty bagel breakfast provided in the morning in their dining area behind their lobby from their bakery next door was really good and filling.

Alex F.

Yelp
Not Your average B&B. The Silverbow inn and the Silverbow bakery are two separate bushiness which are located right next door to each other. When we were here they were not offering the typical sit down bfast you would expect at a b&b, but instead gave meal coupons for the business next door. This actually worked out in our benefit as we actually were able to order anything (bfast or lunch) from the menu, however, we did have to wait quite a bit as in the morning the Silverbow appears to be short-staffed as well as bombarded with customers. The Inn was very nice in itself, however we had some issues during our stay with some of the amenities. The internet is very spotty/slow at times. The hot tub on the roof was not working during our stay which was disappointing. Even if it was working, the hot tub is in a very awkward location. Though it is on the roof which overlooks downtown Juneau, it is also visible by two separate room windows and is 100% accessible by a private residence. This residence has a sliding glass door which accesses this roof and looks directly at the hot tub from there kitchen. You can look in and they can look out. One other thing to be aware of is that due to the age (im guessing) of the building, the walls are very, very thin. We were able to hear everyone walking out in the hallway and our neighbors at times which was pretty annoying and disruptive. On our last night here there were several amounts of disturbances. There was a party which the private residence was having. Many many people were constantly on the roof deck, whom we could see and here while simply sitting in our bed watching TV. These individuals were becoming louder and louder as the night progressed. There was also a family with three young girls staying in a room behind us. These children were RUNNING and screaming through the halls (not exaggerating) for the entire night. Between the children behind our heads and the private party in front of our window it was pretty much impossible to get any privacy whatsoever. A couple other annoyances were that our bathroom door did not lock and the temp control in the room is confusing. On the plus side: the sliverbow does offer a wide selection of yummy teas which you can access any time day or night as well as lots of candy. (Though be careful, everyone sticks their hands in the jars). Its centrally located in town, and the rooms have a jacuzzi (big enough for two) in them. One last thing to be aware of- we were taking the 8am ferry to Sitka on sunday upon leaving. The Silverbow bakery on sunday doesnt open until 8am. In order to get our breakfast we had to ask them to pre-make us a to-go breakfast for the next day to take with us. The staff were accommodating with this request though and made us any type of cold sandwich we requested. The Silverbow is a nice place to stay but has several issues to be aware of that still need to be worked out for the price of the stay.

Yelp
Outstanding in every regard, particularly in character, charm, and friendliness. Rooms are on the small side but clean and exceptionally well-appointed with many nice extras. It's the antithesis of cookie-cutter chains and sterile, over-priced hotels. Excellent bakery and restaurant attached with exceptional breakfasts. WiFi is fast and ubiquitous in the hotel and restaurant. Relaxed and maybe a bit eccentric, but in good ways. I'm never staying anywhere else in Juneau.

Yelp
First off I stood at both the Westmark and Silverbow. The Silverbow is awesome and by far my favorite. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, cable, free WiFi, free breakfast, and free snacks ALL night in the help your self kitchen.

Yelp
Very good bagels all made in house with gourmet spreads. Specializes in Lox. Serves Beer and Wine. Big plus is the free movie nights during summer at 8pm. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Stayed there earlier in June for 4 nights. Great location, great staff, nice breakfast/lobby area, all-day coffee and often fresh-baked cookies. Free wi-fi. Room small, but they have amenities in the room (shampoo, conditioner, q-tips, hair dryer, etc) and fun decor. Some street noise, but newer dual-pane windows help with that. Never really bothered us. Has an outdoor hot tub which we didn't use, but looked very nice. Only 3 parking spaces but we didn't have trouble using one whenever we arrived back. Would definitely stay there again!

Yelp
Really enjoying our stay here. Great breakfasts ( soy latte and sliced lox, capers, tomato, onion, cream cheese on everything bagel....YUM), comfortable beds, hot tub, excellent location. We found the staff very nice and helpful. I love tea and they have many all you can drink teas available. Really cool small touches everywhere you look! It's a little more pricey here than other places I've stayed in Juneau but it is also the most centrally located:) would stay here again.

Yelp
As a frequent visitor to Juneau I had always wanted to try the Silverbow Inn and had never really known why Juneau residents were so wary of the Silverbow - come to find out it has a lot to do with management. The long and the short of it is that I received poor service all around (my room was NEVER cleaned over my three day visit, when I asked for help in finding reservations in town for dinner I wasn't given the time of day, and in general the staff was rude), the room was much smaller than I had expected (and for the price!) -I hardly had room for my suitcase, the owner who took a deposit for the room did not refund me for that deposit for over three months, and come to find out upon check out that I was overcharged for the room. Upon speaking to locals it seems that many have had negative experiences with the Inn and wouldn't recommend it to visiting friends and family. The bakery might be good, but that won't prevent the headaches and discomfort that come along with staying at the Silverbow Inn. As an aside, the staff seemed very unhappy about working there which probably has a lot to do with the problems with the Inn.

Yelp
My wife and I spent three long nights in our room at silver bow, as soon as I opened the door to the room I knew it wasn't good, the first thing was the only window in our room was looking at a wall of a building that was about seven feet from our room. We opened the window for some air and listened to people between the building talking loudly and before the conversation was over there was a fight below our window. The next thing you should know is that there are rats living in the overhead of this hotel, we listened to them scurry from side to side as we were in bed. As mentioned in other reviews, there was no view from our room so we watched television on the 19" TV. We tried to cancel our last night but were informed that we would be charged a cancellation fee of the room rate for canceling, which was $220.00. This is an old facility, and you should know that there are no fire sprinklers in this facility, and the main Electrical feed to the building was within reach from the deck where the hot tub was, this is a potentially dangerous situation, someone could easily grasp the wires from the hot tub deck. Also there was a flexible propane line nailed to the wall right next to the Electrical feed wires, all these items might be within city code, but be warned this is not safe considering there is a bakery below the deck. On a positive note, the staff personnel that we met were very friendly.

Yelp
i really wanted to love this boutique hotel, but in the end the quality of sleep was so poor I can't wait get on the plane to get a decent nap. the hotel is impeccably cute with an eye for detail. the owners are super nice and the breakfast/snack was an awesome touch...unfortunatly my week stay was accompanied by sunshine and the "blackout" blinds were improperly installed leaving 1/2 inch gaps meaning my room was at or near daylight at all times (with the sign glare and short nights). i should have cued into the noise factor by the earplugs next to the bed, but the deciding factor was the 4am garbage truck that lasted forever. a heads up would be nice. otherwise cute place, great location, nice folks. i would stay here for one or two nights but a week was too much.

Yelp
Fantastic stay - cozy inn, friendly, helpful staff, nice rooms. Ny room had a wooden floor and was nice and clean so I had no problems with allergies or asthma. Large jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Breakfast bar in the morning was great also!

Yelp
I spent two nights here recently. I've never found a friendlier, more genuinely warm and welcoming US inn, hotel, or B and B. Fantastic staff, an atmosphere of good cheer, thoughtful amenities, books to read, great coffee, a really nice breakfast AND a terrific bakery and restaurant, too. However: Our bed, a king, was too soft (as in saggy) for comfort. Granted - I like very firm beds, but my back ached each morning. The walls are thin and you can hear everything in the next room. The room was clean, but the common areas could use a good scrubbing. AND - there is no option for making coffee/tea in the room. You have to go down the stairs to the common area to serve yourself there, after 6:30 or so. This was OK but I'm a very early riser and like coffee first thing, in the room. To sum up - this is a wonderful place with a few minuses.

Yelp
Room was fine - not great, just fine. Staff seemed a little distracted. But the real reason I will never go back there is that they gave a key to my room to a random person checking in close to midnight. He tried to get in my room (thank goodness I'd locked the bolt) - which woke me up - so I got up and by the time I was at the door he was gone. I thought - that's a relief, obviously the staff will give him another room. Nope. He comes back 5 minutes later still trying to get in. Of course he felt terrible. Next morning when I check out, you'd think they'd have an apology or something. Nope. So, then I go to file my expense report and they've given me a receipt with a guy's name on it. So I have to call them and get the correct receipt. I mention to the person answering the phone that some guy tried to get in my room late at night. Another excellent time to show some professionalism and apologize....maybe offer something nice if I come back. Nope. Nothing. That's it for me - I will be traveling to Juneau a lot, but not staying here.
