Cozy and friendly coffeehouse located in Pingeyri Iceland in the Westfjords. This was a planed stop because of all their reviews that we read. We enjoyed a warm soup before our hike. Such a relaxing atmosphere. It is an old grocery store from 1915, which we restored and converted into a coffeehouse by the current owners who bought it in 2005. They renovated the whole house but kept most of the original interior. We took a walk to the back of the restaurant to where they had outdoor seating so we could take a look at a bus that they had for extra seating when this place gets crowded. We thought that was really cool! They are only open from June 1st to September 1st

So cute. Great waffles. Hot chocolate was great (but FYI less sweet than what you get in the US). Inside was adorable but wish we ate out in the bus out back. Love!

An absolute gem of a coffeehouse. I loved everything about Simbahöllin. The cappuccino, hot chocolate, Belgium waffle (with delicious jam and whipped cream!) and chocolate chip cookie was all wonderful. Everything is homemade and you can feel the care and attention. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel at home as we enjoyed the food, space and warmth of the coffeehouse. Located in the cute town of Þingeyri just 45 minutes from Ísafjörður.

Charming little cafe. Several of us had the waffles, and it was agreed it was the best we have ever had. Very light. Well restored older building.

Friendly service and cozy atmosphere. Stopped by for a belgian waffle and a cup of coffee. The waffle was a bit too crispy for my preference but tasted good. They recently published a Simbahöllin cookbook which has a lot of recipes and tells you about the history of the house and the owners. The cookbook is in English and has great photos of food and local attractions.

Stopped for a bite after a nice local hike. Their light-as-air waffles are a must! It came with rhubarb jam and fresh cream - both of which were spectacular. It was my first time having such a light and airy waffle and it makes me wish all waffles were this delicate!!! Highly recommend
