"The Simcoe WaveDeck at Toronto's Harbor List this under "very cool installations." The best part about the "wavedeck" is that you can slide on it (because you know you want to). It's a great, interactive gathering place at water's edge, and it plays on that theme in a whimsical way."
There are three WaveDecks at the water's edge. Simcoe WaveDeck is the most easterly and wavy. It's interesting to look at and kids get a big kick checking out its various undulations. It's the kind of simple high interaction art/architecture that many people enjoy coming across as they walk and bike along the Harbourfront area. See you out there!

This is a very cool thing to have in the city with peopleenthe wavedeck. Especially on the waterfront where you can stop and enjoy everything around. Stop by the Amsterdam Brewhouse for some great food and then hit Lisa's for some cream while you watch the boats and plane's. We had a wonderful time, and we'll be back 💯.

This is the Wave Deck near the Harbourfront Center. When I went, it was March, so I couldn't walk on the wave deck, but I can walk in spring. I think it would be cool to have a drink and enjoy the harbor when the weather is nice. It's nice to take pictures, take a walk, and there are cafes and restaurants nearby.

The most dramatic of the 3 WaveDecks along the Waterfront, the Simcoe WaveDeck has 5 dramatic levels of waves. Some waves going as high as 2.6m high which has metal railings installed to prevent injuries. Kids sometimes use the highest one as a slide as well. It's the most iconic of the WaveDecks so far. Definitely a sight to see a great for photos and admiring the skyline!

A cool place for photos or to take break, sit and relax and see the sights. Right next to the marina with lots of venues nearby from restaurants and bars to outdoor activities.

A really unique piece of boardwalk with the waves. You can walk up and down but need to step over a barrier to walk on the steepest sections (You are allowed to but need to be careful).

Very very cool walkable deck in the shape of waves. One of like 3 down by the waterfront. Kids everywhere sliding down the metal sides.

This is an artistic impression of a waterfront boardwalk and waves. There are 5 wave heights.
Some children try using the biggest wave as a slide. There is a metal railing along the water side for safety. They also added a low metal fence around it to prevent skateboarding.

I've never seen anything like this before and it's pretty clever. Award-winning, apparently.
This art installation makes the wooden deck at the Harbourfront look like it's undulating as a wave. There are also lights underneath, which obviously weren't operating when I stopped by at 3 in the afternoon.
Definitely Insta-worthy.
