This hotel seemed to be the best located for an overnight stay following a cruise ending in Fort de France. It seems to be fairly new and although the check-in process was not without difficulty due to the inexperience of a new employee, the desk staff were otherwise courteous and had decent English. It was noticeable however that the lobby (where I spent a couple of hours waiting for a room) was far too warm despite some airconditioning, and when I got into a room it had the same problem, it was nowhere near cool enough to be comfortable. The room was otherwise fine. I did not breakfast in the hotel because the prix fixe for the buffet was quite high and there did not seem to be an alternative for someone who normally just has coffee and pastries. The restaurant was not open for lunch, for dinner it was quite good though the menu was limited and all tables were outside, which could be a problem in a hot and humid climate. This is a safe choice for people who do not want to risk less conventional alternatives in the town or use the more exotic resorts elsewhere on the island, but the hotel would have to fix the temperature problem to merit a higher rating and since it is fairly highly priced and should deliver properly cooled rooms.
