A Hidden Gem in Ghent – Don’t Miss Simon Says! 🍺✨ If you’re visiting Ghent for the first time and looking for a place to enjoy a truly good Belgian beer without falling into a tourist trap – do yourself a favor and walk a little off the beaten path to Simon Says. Tucked away at the corner of a charming little street, this place is hands down one of the most atmospheric and cozy bars in the whole city. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm, friendly service and a vibe that makes you want to stay for hours. Whether you’re in the mood for a delicious Belgian beer, a sweet treat, or some quality olives or snacks, this place has something for everyone. It’s the kind of spot where locals and savvy travelers come to relax – far away from the overpriced chaos near the cathedral. Forget the central tourist-trap prices – Simon Says is a true hidden gem that actually cares about what it serves and how you feel. A perfect mix of flavor, friendliness, and authenticity. Highly recommended. Don’t miss it. 🍻💛

Great place for a short stay with beer, wine or coffee. We had a vegan flat white, cherry beer and a 0% IPA. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The area of the bar is perfectly located in the inner city where it is not too busy. If you need a quiet drink, I highly recommend this place. Definitely worth a visit when strolling around Ghent!

This cafe is located at one end of the touristic city centre of Ghent, but still surrounded by beautiful buildings in Flanders style. It’s probably not only good for a rest after strolling in town, but also nice as a neighbourhood spot since it has a pretty nice selection of offerings. really appreciate the dark-coloured interior with thin pieces of wooden furniture and a little bit of flower, definitely a scene of Flemish sophistication and casual coziness. My flatwhite has well-rounded taste topped with a good layer of milk foam, a little too milky to me though. However it’s served in the way I like most: the traditional European way with a small biscuit! I like it so much!

What a nice brunch in Ghent! Fresh and organic food with really good coffee and the perfect amounts of food to after go hit the city! Nice central location with big windows that allow the light to entry. It is small so it might get crowded with ease and you might have to wait. Worth the food and price paid!

You can find this comfortable cafe in just 5 min by walk from the touristic attractions of Ghent. The hot chocolate here was amazing (with whipped cream recommended;) ). The staff was really kind and friendly. Good for friends or solo (yes they have wifi and outlets...)

Adorable neighborhood, charming cafe with friendly, relaxed service and yummy eats. Homemade lemonade and ginger apple juice were good. We split a tasty cheese croque served with chutney, and a side salad. Finished it off with a small but delicious slice of carrot cake.

Had some delicious perfectly cooked eggs and soldiers, after the Marathon in Gent on a brisk Sunday morning. There were warm blankets for the outside tables.

Awesome place for breakfast and coffee! They offer morning menus in bronze, silver, gold and platinum packages. The gold menu was terrific! Boiled eggs with croquettes, speck and two types of Flemish cheese, soft but chunky bread and butter, musli with yogurt and fresh orange juices, all served with aromatic coffee and fresh chocolate croissants - to die for!

Yelp
Our first find in Ghent and it wasn't a disappointment. We only went for a quick bite to eat which escalated to wine and cake after! The guys waiting were so friendly and were clearly having fun while working hard. The service is very casual, with small outbursts of tap dancing and singing, so if that isn't your thing be warned. Basically I didn't feel trendy enough to be there! They were also very helpful, asking us what we had planned for our stay and marking some places to go on our map (all of which were great recommendations). The food itself was served efficiently and the sandwiches were big with good quality ingredients. Wine was also nice and reasonably priced. We weren't planning on getting cake and a coffee however they told us it was honestly very good so we had a slice of carrot cake and a flat white. It was good.... Like seriously good. Huge slice with tonnes of cream cheese frosting, mmmm. They also serve soups, quiches etc as well as having a brunch menu. If in Ghent look this place up for brunch or lunch!

Yelp
Best hang-over coffees ever! Yet by times a bit crowdy and arty-farty atmosphere..
