What a beautiful experience, love that they cater for kids as well. The environment is just so calming, it was informative to be there learning about the different wines and history behind it. I’m not a creative bunny but enjoyed painting on the bottle 😍 I really wouldn’t mind going back

We didn’t make a booking as it was an unplanned visit however, the staff were very accommodating considering it was a busy Saturday. The wait was a bit long and we ended up taking a walk to pass the time while waiting for our waitress in between tastings. The kiddies pairing is very nice and definitely impressed our boy. And obviously the bubbly didn’t disappoint as Simonsig are the pioneers of bubbly in South Africa. They also have a small kids play area and a large lawn area where you can also sit and relax.

I always love visiting the Simonsig Wine Estate and this time around was no different. We had a great time. We began our visit with a wine tasting where I went for the option of selecting 6 different wines in their different categories and my wife their bubbly, Cap Classique, tasting. Every wine we sampled was full of flavour, and I appreciated that we could taste wines from different budget categories which gave me a clear picture of their overall quality. After the tasting we decided to grab a cheese and charcuterie platter which paired perfectly with their wines. The highlight for me though, was when I got the opportunity to sabrage a bottle of their Kaapse Vonkel Brut - it was a fun and exhilarating experience which I highly recommend! If you want to do the sabrage, the price includes a bottle of the Kaapse Vonkel. To top the entire experience off, they have a nice shaded kids' play area to keep the little ones entertained and the service was friendly. Simonsig consistently delivers, making it a must-visit for any wine lover.

What a beautiful vineyard located in Stellenbosch with a well rooted history. This vineyard has spectacular views of the mountain with delicious served wines. We went for the 6x tasting of the day, which included 2 glasses of sparking wine, 2 glasses of white wine and 2 glasses of red wine. Absolutely stunning view of the mountain which you can never get enough of paired with some quality wine. I highly recommend the labyrinth Cabernet Sauvignon or the Tiara. 2 of my personal favourites from this vineyard. The team and management seems to have changed since last visit but still delivered too notch service with quality explanations of each wine. What a lovely way to end of the afternoon!

Our first wine tasting in Stellenbosch and we stayed 3h, in stead of 1h. Sunny is an amazing sommelier. We started at first with a basic winetaste session, but Simon offered us the option to taste same wines, over different years, giving you a glance, what happens with a wine, over the years. Sunny is a nice guy to listen to. You definately need to add this house into your todo list We enjoyed a nice food platter next to it (it was needed haha)

Went to Simonsig for a special birthday bubbles tasting on Sunday and it was totally disappointing. For a winery credited with pioneering South Africa’s Cap Classique, we expected something special (on par at least with the multitude of Cape wineries we've been to over the years). The tasting room is dated, bare and dull compared to other wineries, who all pride themselves on spectacular tasting rooms. It felt like an old school hall. Service was so inattentive: we had to ask for water an hour in, and by the end of the second hour of waiting, we still didn’t know if there was another tasting round coming, if the tasting was over, nor did we know exactly what was happening or where our server had disappeared to. We eventually had to go find our waitress at the cashier area, where she then told us we still had one more varietal to taste and asked if we were staying? Would've been nice if we'd been told that an hour earlier and served the last tasting as even lunch time had now come and gone. After two hours, we paid without finishing the tasting and could't wait to leave. We were bored, hungry and frustrated. Especially because it was meant to make a special occasion, something memorable, for the right reasons. Which it sadly wasn't. We all agreed, we definitely won't be back

What a disappointment from start to finish! Our bubbles tasting on Sunday 12 October was meant to be a special birthday celebration, but after two hours of poor service, we gave up and left for another venue. Despite having made our booking over a month in advance, it couldn’t be found on arrival. The tasting room wasn’t busy, so we were seated, and our first tasting arrived. It took an hour to get the second varietal, and that only happened after we went looking for our waitress to ask for water. Another full hour passed without seeing her again. When we eventually decided to leave, the cashier informed us there were still two more bubbles left in our tasting. By that point, we were frustrated, hungry and ready to go. We won’t be returning. The service was appalling. While the outdoors is scenic, the décor in our indoor section felt tired and outdated. With so many wonderful wine-tasting destinations in the Cape, Simonsig needs to seriously raise its standards to compete.

Enjoyed this place sooooo much! We had booked an outside sitting spot, we sat outside to take in the beauty of the place and later requested to move indoors. The service was 100% and their wines matched the setting & service. I’ll definitely go back for their vineyard tour/ route experience.
