Great little gem off the main road but highly worth it. The name should be anything but simple. Eggs, homemade "hash" which was potatoes, sweet squash diced, shredded turkey that was juicy & just the right amount. Whole grain bread was good with homemade strawberry jam & honey butter. Toasted apple cinnamon French Toast with cinnamon crumble was to die for. Even the coffee was hot, strong & plentiful. They even have a little store next door to take home homemade bake good & fresh coffee beans. Great find.

OBSESSED with the delicious Korean BBQ Breakfast Bowl…AND the amazing staff🩷. I accidentally left my denim jacket behind and not only did they mail it to me (I live 3.5 hours away), they sent it at no cost and at lightening speed. This was my second visit and Simple Cafe will be a must stop every time in LG. The menu and the service are out of this world!

Decided to come to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for a quick b-day getaway. On our last day there, I saw this place on Yelp and the food looked good so decided to try them on 12/1/24, a lazy cold Sunday morning. I was a little nervous because many of the reviews talked about having to wait awhile to be seated. We lucked up, this wasn't our situation as they seated us right away. It was packed in there. We got to sit by the window which was the perfect spot. At the particular time we got there, we didn't have to pay the metered parking which was sweet but please, make sure you check if you happen to park in those spaces to make sure you don't get a ticket. Our female waitress was wonderful - friendly, kind and very attentive. We didn't have to wait long for our food. Breakfast is served all day which I love places that do. Our food was delicious! Everything was fresh! Pancakes were so yummy and yes, they were just as good, buttery and fluffy as my picture shows! Homemade chicken sausage was really good. The red potatoes I really liked - they sauteed it with green onions which really gave it a good flavor (I want to try this at home and see if I can come close to how theirs were). The eggs get a paragraph all to themselves. My God! Those were the best eggs I have had in my life, do you hear me? They had to have just gotten those from a chicken - even the orangish-yellowish coloring of the eggs were different. I wanted to order more eggs but I couldn't fit it anywhere in my belly - I was too full :( I really enjoyed my meal and hubby did too as he had the Korean BBQ Breakfast Bowl. Both of our plates were clean when we finished. I definitely want to return here. They have a bakery next door should you want to treat yourself to a sweet. Simple Cafe, there is nothing Simple about you! Thank you for adding to our wonderful trip to Lake Geneva. A++++ all around in our books! Thanks so much!

Google
We spent three days in Lake Geneva and went with the mission to not repeat a restaurant. This place was so good we had to break our own rules. Even when it was packed with a morning crowd the sound wasn't so loud that you couldn't hear each other. The food was excellent. The service was spot on.

Google
Jesse our great server today. We've been coming here for many years and love the food and the atmosphere. Locally sourced foods, including from the bakery next door. Mmmm.

Google
Delicious breakfast and coffee. Prompt and friendly service. Everything was very fresh and pancakes were super fluffy.

Google
Friendly service...sat at the counter. Homemade Corned beef Hash nice and tender. No eggs 😞...I can't have them. Wish potatoes were skinless and browned for a textural addition to the dish.

Google
I Googled farm to table lunch in Lake Geneva and ended up at this amazing Cafe! Huge selection of breakfast options but I went with the lunch side and ordered a chicken salad sandwich that was perfect. All of the ingredients were balanced, allowing me to get tastes of everything included but nothing was overpowering. I got hints of the smokey chicken, then the sweet grapes kicked in followed by the fresh arugula and then nothing but happiness in my mouth. Ordered a lemon and ginger tea, which was very refreshing. Huge selection of healthy fresh options and the staff were great. Love this place and can't wait to come back and try some breakfast options!

Yelp
Picked my Mom up on a whim on a Monday morning and asked where to go eat. She moaned there wasn't much in her area (Waterford), and she wasn't wrong! Yelp led us on a short 15 minute drive to Lake Geneva and Simple Cafe. Yelpers weren't wrong either!! Wonderful service, tasty good food, reasonably priced menu items, and all-round good vibes!! She'll be back!!

Jenny C.

Yelp
I bnb love simple cafe, but there are parts to it that isn't for everyone. My husband was super unhappy with the menu not having basic staple breakfast like biscuits and gravy. His thoughts are that this establishment is a bit more on the hipster end, which is not his vibe. If you're into clean, healthier food, this is the place. If I could change one thing, they need a liquor license. It's not brunch without a Bloody Mary or mimosa, lol. My favorite is the turkey hash, super delicious.

Lisa C.

Yelp
Stopped by in Sunday morning at 11 AM and they were busy! We only had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes for a table. It was tight inside. They have seating that is kind of cramped but not too bad (more for the servers than the diners). The menu is full of interesting choices! Our server was very friendly, and our food came out quick. I had the mashed potato omelette. The hollandaise sauce was probably the best part. Otherwise it was very mild flavors. The pancakes, however - wow! They were perfect! Fluffy, light and delicious. We didn't realize the bakery was not part of the café. It's actually accessed via a separate entrance in the front of the building.

Yelp
This restaurant was highly recommended to us for our weekend visit to Lake Geneva. We put our name in and grabbed coffee and a pastry at their sister bakery next door. It was the perfect treat while we waited for our table. We waited about 20 minutes on a Saturday morning. The restaurant is painted with bright colors and the vibe is lively. We had the chilaquiles and the breakfast tacos which were both delicious, had lots of flavor and were good portions. There are so many other dishes I wanted to try to on the menu, so we will definitely be back on our next visit to Lake Geneva!

Emily G.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years and think it is the best brunch spot in LG! Definitely prepare for a wait though. On my most recent visit, we seemed to wait forever to be seated, even though we saw tons of open tables. The food is mainly farm to table and very fresh. I tried the chilaquiles for the first time and they were on the spicy side but still very tasty. Some of my favorites are the Korean bbq bowl, pumpkin pancakes, and corned beef hash, but you really can't go wrong with anything. If you can't get a table, definitely head to the attached bakery next door for an almond croissant.

Hayley M.

Yelp
So, so good! My kids and I went in for brunch. It is a very cute cafe, with indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered the eggs Benedict, simple breakfast sandwich, and eggs sardou. Everything was absolutely delicious! We will definitely go back again.

Chee K.

Yelp
This is a pretty good breakfast place! We went there for a family breakfast before heading back to Chicago. And it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and fast, the food was tasty and on point. Nothing that's going to blow you away but what they do is quality. I got the eggs Benedict and I enjoyed it. If I lived in this town or came through again, definitely would stop by.

Daniela K.

Yelp
Thoughtful and simple food! I stopped in on a rainy and dreary day, and nothing fits the bill better than a grilled cheese and soup. The grilled cheese is on housemade bread that is hearty. Great selection of cheese to put in your grilled sando, and I chose Gruyère. The tomato soup is simple, creamy PERFECTION. Service was prompt and friendly. Busy, but excellent hospitality!

Travis L.

Yelp
Came in for a weekend brunch/lunch. This place can get busy and we had a 40 minute wait for a table. This has a relaxed ambiance and was good for a family (we had a 2 and 4 year old). There are lots of good options on the menu. Pancakes are nice a fluffy. The chicken and corn omelette had really good flavor as does the quinoa corn fritters.

Jessica J.

Yelp
Simple Cafe, oh how you are missed in Milwaukee! Devastated when that location closed, but always happy to know that we can make a visit on our trips to Lake Geneva. We spent the weekend here, and finished it with brunch at this create spot. Delighted to have been immediately seated upon arrival on a Sunday morning. This place was busy, to no surprise. You can't go wrong with anything on their fresh-ingredient menu packed with farm-to-table eats. Started with a glass of their OJ which was nice and tart. I love the pulp too. For food, decided to go with something I've never had before, so opted for the granola. It was damn good. The almond milk was refreshing and the bowl was packed with goodness: oats, coconut flakes, apple chunks, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, raisins, dried cranberries, honey and almonds. While you might think the dish sounds overly sweet, it really wasn't. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Oh and the side of bacon I had was equally enjoyable! My husband went for the breakfast tacos and gave them a big thumbs up. He also can't have brunch without a side or short stack pancakes, so those came to the table too, to my delight because I had a few bites. Soooo fluffy. We will no doubt return every time we come to town (and in the meantime keep our fingers crossed for a re-open in Milwaukee).

Margarita B.

Yelp
I went last week to have lunch with my bestie. I got the tomato soup and grilled cheese. Sooooo yummy. Only downside was the Parking ticket I got. The machine wasn't reading my debit card so I got a $30 ticket, but that's just Lake Geneva.

Shannon W.

Yelp
Small eclectic decor serving local produce and dairy. From breakfast, including a turkey vegetable hash with eggs, omelets, pancakes and standard breakfast plates to home made soup and a portables mushroom sandwich, each item has a unique twist that puts it above most other restaurants. Sometimes there is a long wait to get in, especially on Sunday, but when you taste the food, you will understand why it is worth the wait

Yelp
Came here for breakfast while camping. I ordered the short stack banana oat pancakes. It was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the bananas and the house made granola. The syrup was so good as well. My bf had the egg platter. He enjoyed his meal. Coffees were strong and so good! I love the ambiance and bright colors. Their bakery is next door so definitely worth a visit. Service was okay. Unfortunately we were seated at a table that wasn't cleaned yet and someone's bill was still sitting there and my bfs coffee cup had lipstick stains. However our server didn't charge us for the coffees so that was appreciated. Will definitely be back!

Phillip B.

Yelp
The tofu scramble was really good and packed with fresh veggies. They give you a ton of potatoes and the service is nice and quick.

Brooke H.

Yelp
We ate everything too quickly to get a picture! But with my party we tried the pumpkin pancakes, pork belly eggs Benedict, turkey Brussels sprout hash. All amazing and no complaints!! Highly recommend!

Marc B.

Yelp
Cute little place good food and service. A must try if you're in town. Nothing more to say just trying to use at least 85 characters.

Scott H.

Yelp
It wasn't my choice. First time we went we were seating in the back section. Very uncomfortable seating. Ordered lunch wasn't very good. Only cola was can Coke with no refills. Server wasn't friendly. Second time was last week. Seated in front was much better. Server friendly and attentive. Had pancakes that tasted pretty good. I wouldn't go back there for lunch but would for breakfast if my wife wants to. My star ranking is the first and second visits combined.

Joshua S.

Yelp
Had the seasonal harvest frittata for breakfast yesterday. It was so good. I came back and ordered it again today!

Wayne W.

Yelp
Usually pretty good - great surroundings, polite wait staff. Couple of shortcomings: Burgers ordered with tomato lettuce pickle get Shredded lettuce, a teaspoon of chopped tomato and a pickle spear. They are grass fed and cooked properly but that tomato would be nice ! So next time have to bring real maple syrup for pancakes, else lettuce and tomato for burgers!!

Ryan L.

Yelp
Amazing food. Wait was only 25 minutes, took a short walk and realized we were 1st line so we ran back to the restaurant. Ambience was busy but calm and social. Everyone seemed happy, it's nice to be surrounded with positive energy on an early sunday. Food didn't take long to come out, my girlfriend said the benedict was amazing and it was her first time ever trying. My frittata was pretty yummy, a lot of flavors. The tortilla could be improved by putting separately or someone differently. The third, bottom, tortilla was partially broken by the second tortilla rolled on top of it. Our server was amazing and very nice. Always had a smile on her when she helped other guests +1

Sarah R.

Yelp
Another delicious meal at Simple. Whenever asked where to dine in Lake Geneva, I don't hesitate to recommend Simple Cafe. Their menu is full of seasonal, fresh ingredients. I ordered the garden burger (complete with walnuts), and my friend ordered the chicken chopped salad. She rated the salad as a 10/10, and the tomato basil mayo on my burger stole the show. Parking is easy, as there is a lot beside the restaurant. It's easily our go to spot for breakfast or lunch.

Rod D.

Yelp
If you're staying in Lake Geneva, this cute and colorfully bright brunch spot is a must. The vibrant colors off the walls decor this joint and it screams eat here. We visited here on Memorial Day weekend and we were pleasantly surprised that we were seated right away. We were a party of 5 so we thought the wait would be a while...to our surprise it wasn't. We were seated and greeted immediately by our server, Brooke. She is amazing...so attentive and friendly. She checked on us at the right times and got us what we needed. We all ordered their coffee (Collectivo) which was pretty amazing. Love the Collectivo brand so we were happy they served it. The majority of the table got simple eggs but I ventured out and tried their Korean BBQ chicken breakfast bowl. Perfect timing for brunch. I can't wait to try more of the food from this joint upon our next visit

Cynthia B.

Yelp
We stopped by Simple Cafe on recommendation from a server at a lunch spot we went to the day before. My husband had the basic eggs, bacon and toast which he enjoyed. I had the House Roasted Turkey Hash that our very sweet server, Jesse recommended. It was awesome! The hash consisted of tender roasted turkey, chunks of squash, Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, caramelized onions, potatoes, brown butter, roasted pine nuts and Gruyère topped with two eggs over medium. It was outstanding and packed with flavor!!

Aleah H.

Yelp
Updating my review to remind everyone Simple is great as always - Kimchi Reuben is new to the menu and absolutely amazing. Korean BBQ bowl is perfect as always. Spicy giardiniera focaccia made me regret not buying more because I ate the whole thing on my drive back home, and the carrot cake cupcake was the perfect treat for later! Service also continues to be stellar - I had called a few days before Easter to verify they'd be open so I could come with my family and dog. I assumed the patio would be open given the weather, but it wasn't. However, the staff accommodated us by serving us outside with take out containers which was super kind and required them to go out of the way to check on us. Enjoyed my visit and would recommend to anyone as always!!

Gabi M.

Yelp
My brother-in-law recommended Simple Cafe for brunch for our party of 8 last Friday... We were in the area visiting and were heading to a Lake Geneva boat tour early that afternoon. We were seated pretty quickly and had super friendly service. The food did take awhile, which is never easy when you have hangry children and adults, but luckily, the atmosphere was chill and we were able to play some games at the table and keep occupied. Once our food did arrive, everyone was super pleased! The kids enjoyed pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Adults had gazpacho and some different egg dishes. I had an egg white garden veggie omelette and english muffin along with some sausage. My daughter ended up sharing with me since it was so delicious and we then ordered more! I hear the granola here is wonderful too, so I guess I'll have to return to try it! There is street parking as well as a lot in the back and SC is located walking distance from downtown and the waterfront, which makes it a perfect location to eat at before taking a little stroll. Highly recommend this local restaurant!

Evie G.

Yelp
The blueberry lemon pancake sauce was scrumptious, made the average cakes another level. Red potatoes were a bit dry. Coffee very strong, had to add hot water & lots of cream., couldn't finish a whole cup. Husbands apple French toast was very good but came warm not hot. Service was very good. Atmosphere fun, lamps were wire baskets hung upside down with different things in them, like milk bottles. I'm only 5'1" but the lamp hit me every time I stood up. It didn't hurt, kind of humorous. It needed to be centered above table. Painted with bright cheery colors. I really appreciate them using local sources for food.

Emily W.

Yelp
This place was a pretty nice breakfast spot with outdoor seating. My dish was unremarkable (but I just got the eggs and meat dish) but my husbands was a good breakfast sandwich. The bakery next door was very yummy - I got the flourless chocolate bite and truffle and my husband got a macaroon. I was considering the Korean bbq bowl or breakfast tacos and think I would try those if we were back in lake geneva.

Heather M.

Yelp
This place came highly recommended for breakfast. It's a cute little breakfast spot with lots of personality. We sat at the breakfast bar and enjoyed the more personal experience. It was a Friday morning at about 9:00 and doesn't have a waiting list, however, it was getting busier as we were leaving. Our server told us they changed to a new menu that day. My husband was really looking forward to the chilaquiles, which they no longer had. On a recommendation from our server, he ended up got the chili omelet, which he enjoyed. I got the turkey and Brussel sprout skillet, the turkey was a little dry and it was light on brussel sprouts, otherwise was good. They use Collectivo Coffee and were kind enough to send us with a to go cup for the road.

sarah t.

Yelp
Simply delicious. Very fresh. Great service too. I'd highly recommend this place for breakfast and lunch.

Mitch J.

Yelp
We love simple!! Such great food. A little pricy but they have something for everyone. For me, I get the Korean BBQ bowl every time. It's incredible and so different than anything you could get anywhere around here. Healthy too, and devoid of a lot of food allergies. Other favorites are the pumpkin pancakes (I can't eat it but it's my wife's favorite...unfortunately I think it's seasonal), the turkey hash, eggs Benedict, and any form of pancake. You can't really go wrong. Just be prepared for a little wait if you come at a busy time.

Debra T.

Yelp
Great food and service. The breakfast menu was amazing! The menu has all local sourced food items! Highly recommend!

Traci W.

Yelp
Most amazing mushroom omelette EVER! You could actually taste the mushrooms. The sourdough toast- amazing. Even the butter was perfect- easy to spread. Everyone was very friendly and the waitress- awesome!!

SJ P.

Yelp
Super delicious, veggie forward meals. We always eat at Simple at least twice when we're in town. Expansive menu with creative takes on familiar dishes, something for everyone. And the bakery next door--yum!

Susan S.

Yelp
Clean bright and sunny. I had an excellent vegan burger . The more I ate the better it tasted. Was most likely healthier then the other contender mashed potato omelette . Megan was our server very sweet , every buddy was very nice . Tried the Ruben Kim chi burger. Was pretty good.

Joee G.

Yelp
I've been coming to simple for years. It is one of the only truly good restaurants in LG! I've tried many menu items with some favorites being the seasonal pancakes, apple French toast, simple breakfast, and Korean breakfast bowl. Most recently, I tried the eggs Sardou. This was a funky take on eggs Benedict with poached eggs served on top of a croissant half along with creamed spinach and spiced hollandaise sauce. It was served with a side of potatoes- ask for them well done! Be sure to stop into the bakery next door for some homemade goodies. My fav is the almond croissant.

Jazmin R.

Yelp
First time here and it was good! Will say, probably need to come earlier in the morning to avoid wait times - mom, sister, and I came around lunch time and waited 40 minutes for available seating. Waiter was nice and attentive. I had the apple crumb French toast and it was perfection. Doesn't even really need syrup since it's already sweet (but of course I poured on some anyways!). So delectable. Sister had the simple breakfast sandwich which she enjoyed. My mom tried the quinoa corn fritter and she really enjoyed the cilantro cream sauce that came with it the most. Overall, it's a nice place and somewhere we'd try again when coming to Lake Geneva.

Ashruta P.

Yelp
Delicious! Great friendly service! Highly would recommend to visitors. Great vegan and non veg options. The Korean bowl was a pleasant surprise.

Russ G.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. We love trying new breakfast options here and there are plenty! Food and service are always excellent here and they do a great job keeping up with the tourist crowd in the summer.

Ann H.

Yelp
Great food and service. Very good if you like creative breakfast dishes. The hash and Benedict's are delicious. Our waitress was very attentive.

Scott P.

Yelp
Great lunch. We had the beet tofu salad and portobello sandwich. My only tip would be to get the dressing for the salad on the side as it was a bit much for my liking.

Molly R.

Yelp
Very good food! Excellent and quick service despite the crowd. Very slightly pricey but the food was excellent quality and well made. The only improvement could have been if the apples were softer, like pie filling, on the French toast. Will definitely go back. Super cute environment too. The one disappointment was that the bakery only has the amazing monkey bread shown in other reviews on weekends. No problem, just good to know because I was SO excited for it but couldn't get it during our week day trip.

Aron C.

Yelp
Nice table service cafe with fresh food bites for weary travelers starting their day.

Dan H.

Yelp
We ate here because it was so highly recommended by friends of ours who live in Lake Geneva and we liked our breakfast so much that we came back for lunch on the same day. We could eat all of our meals here and never get tired of it. The menu is very creative and the food is absolutely organic, healthy and local when possible. There are a wide selection of smoothies and juices, which is highly unusual in most of the restaurants that we end up in. I love smoothies and am a juicer so I notice these things and this place got an instant A+ in my book. The servers and hostesses were young but they were all in great moods and you could tell that they loved what they do. These things are readable in the way that customers are treated and we could both tell that the management of this establishment understands service . . . because it was excellent. I ordered a breakfast burrito and I am getting hungry again just writing about it. The potatoes were out of this world and I could not recommend this place any higher than I am trying to do right now.

Michael S.

Yelp
Ordered eggs and corn beef hash got burnt chunks potatoes and chunks of fatty corned beef. More potatoes than anything else. This is not corn beef hash, it's burnt pieces of potato

Oscar M.

Yelp
We came to Lake Geneva to spend the day with the kids. We are a family of 5. We came during the week to avoid long lines and have a nicer experience. For starters the place is conveniently located and was accessible and we were seated promptly as there was space and it wasn't too busy. Unfortunately that is where the positive experience ends. We arrived at 10:50 am and ordered shortly after our beverages arrived. We waited over 40 minutes for our simple order on a day that was not too busy. Food was blah and definitely not worth the wait. At the end I asked our server to see if they offered a military discount. She said she would ask and came back with a discount of $1.90 of off our tab that was over $90.00!!! To ad insult to injury, when I went to wash my hands after the meal the toilet was covered in fecal mater in the seat and all on the bowl. Unfortunately we won't be visiting again.

Brent J.

Yelp
Wow! What a great place that serves healthy and fresh ingredients. We had a family gathering recently in Lake Geneva. My folks chose Simple Cafe for brunch on the last morning we were there. We had a fairly large group consisting of 3 generations of our family that came in from different corners of our country. We were thankful to have arrived early, as the wait was very short for a group of this size. When we left there was a huge gathering of people waiting to experience the great experience we just had. For the food, we tackled most of the menu amongst our collective clan. I had a custom breakfast burrito with my choice of fillings. Fresh, savory, and delicious. Our server did a fantastic job keeping our group satisfied. Highly recommended!

Joan M.

Yelp
C'mon, Simple. It's a beautiful Sunday and your patio is closed "because no server outside." Always like to go to your cafe, but so disappointing.

Taylor S.

Yelp
The name says it all here. Simple cafe has a menu full of the basics. You won't get any fancy Benedict's or specialty coffees but the food is good. I got a traditional Benedict and it was just as you would expect. Service was good, especially considering we had a large party and the restaurant was full so others must enjoy their meal as well. I did wish they had at least some lattes or something but overall a good spot to stop.
