31 Best Places to Visit in the USA (Updated 2025)

"Sin City Hostel near Fremont Street is a social spot that runs events like bar crawls, pasta & wine nights, BBQs, and casino nights — a lively, budget-friendly place to connect with other travelers while seeing a different side of Vegas." - Matthew Kepnes

Lovely hostel super close to the strip, centrally located, made accomplishing all my business very convenient. Appreciate the International guests, learned a lot about different walks of life, and I hope to be back soon. Also the bed was firm, which I love, and everything was clean, modern and well-organized. Also cool murals in the parking lot! (See attached photo)

The rooms are spacious and look clean. It depends what kind of people you get in your room but the staff does a great job in keeping them clean. There’s a gate and a small parking lot in front of the rooms where you can park your car or chill for a bit (in the garden area). The volunteers and staff are very friendly and helpful. One of the most social hostels I’ve ever been too, breakfast is included and delicious. Definitely go on the fremont experience tour, it’s wonderful and Michael is so funny with it, you can’t miss this opportunity!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ BEST HOSTEL IN LAS VEGAS!!!! I had an amazing stay at Sin City Hostel — truly five stars all around! The staff here is extremely friendly, polite, and helpful, and the energy is just great. The rooms were clean and spacious, with daily housekeeping keeping everything fresh. Bathrooms were always clean and well maintained. I loved the security of the code-locked doors and the cozy patio area outside — nice, green, and peaceful. The common area was perfect for getting work done, with a big-screen TV and plenty of space to relax. Quiet hours were respected, which made it easy to rest and stay focused. The free breakfast was delicious every morning and a great way to start the day. Overall, everything was smooth, comfortable, and well-run. I got a lot of my event work done here in a quiet and productive environment. Great people, great staff, and a great hostel. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be returning! 🌐✨ ⸻ Martell Edwards @Telldouble Telldouble Productions ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ ✨☁️Dream B.I.G.☁️ ™️ ✨ ✨(BELIEVE IN GOD) ✨ ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ ✨.

Exactly what you expect but better. The rooms were clean and spacious. My junk was very comfortable. The location of the hostel was great! Located in the art district which is the center between The Strip and Downtown (Old Vegas). Right next door to Koolsville Sacred Heart Tattoos. Located like 12 Minutes from the airport. I felt very safe in the hostel and the people were great. Had a blast hanging out in the common area pavilion with people from all over.. Michael the staff member was astounding at his job bringing everyone together. Thank you Diego for replacing the towels. The art work on the walls was created by the staff and they have a corner within to give artist an outlet. Bike rental on site. I will stay here if I go back to Vegas.

Google
Good vibe, great place to socialize. They (Michael, Deigo )take guests on a walking tour every evening. You ll meet some fun people here. Could be much more cleaner. The female receptionist was much more welcoming that the other 2 guys at the reception.

Jenny B.

Google
I loved the experience, the team was super welcoming, they have breakfast, and they even made a Christmas dinner for the guests. One of the staff members showed us several things in Old Vegas, and when I go back to Vegas I will definitely stay there again. Very good!

Google
I’ve stayed at Sin City the last two years during EDC weekend, and I really can’t recommend it enough. It was a great find and a perfect alternative to staying at any of the resorts or casinos in Vegas. You’re right down the road from the strip, and there’s plenty of neat spots in the Arts District area. The complimentary breakfast and the cookouts are a treat, and you’ll never meet cooler people than the other travelers and staff you’ll meet here. They have the in for a lot of clubs and other events, so be sure to take advantage of that. You don’t have to be a party person either, there’s outdoor rec activities, tours, and plenty else that you can get set up with. Oh, and if you’re going to book, I recommend doing it directly through their website, it’s easier and cheaper than going through 3rd party services.

Google
I had a great time. I hadn’t been to Vegas since I was about 14, so it had been a long while, but the trip didn’t disappoint. I met some really friendly people from all over, and the staff—there were only about three or four of them—were super nice and easy to talk to. The only thing for me is that I’m a tall, bigger guy, so the beds felt a bit small. But if you’re looking for a cheap place to stay with genuinely welcoming people, I’d definitely recommend it.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of interacting with worker Susie. She was so sweet and was a huge help!Overall my stay at this hostel was amazing. Thank you, Sin City Hostel!!!

Yelp
This was my first time staying in a hostel and Sin City Hostel set the bar high!! The staff were very attentive. I had trouble securing my booking the day before my trip and the staff were helpful in fixing it. Upon arriving, staff were very friendly! The room was clean, the common area was also clean. The pricing was very affordable. I will gladly book Sin City Hostel when I return to Vegas. Great job Sin City Hostel!!

Yelp
Showed up to be told "Sin City Hostel was unable to honor my reservation on Expedia". They said if I contacted Expedia I could get a refund. So THEY won't honor but I have work to get a refund. Absolutely zero care for customers.

David B.

Yelp
racist, uncomfortable environment for anyone not Latino. From the owner down to most of the staff. Feels like being stuck in a gay latin club. Really unprofessional, inexperienced staff always talking bad about guests and coworkers to anyone. Hitting on customers always in a creepy way, both the men and women. Even when they can tell the person is uncomfortable with it. Sometimes aggressively. Just no good there. Bungalow Hostel down the street is WAY better. I see why this place is always empty

Yelp
Cori. She made my experience at this hostel incredibly welcoming, warming, & a lot of fun! She helped me so much when a problem happened with my Hostel room. She is simply amazing & Sin City Hostel is very lucky to have her! Perks: - Staff seriously appreciates & cares for their patrons especially when a problem arises (my roommate clogging the toilet & also locking out the bathroom door in a span of an hour) - 5 min walk to a 24 hr Walgreens - 10 min walk to Hop Nuts Brewery (20 min to Banger Brewery) - 20 min walk to Fremont Street - 20 min walk to Stratosphere Casino & Resort Negatives: - Common area closes at 11pm during their offseason hours (so you can't dig into the fridge nor microwave until 8am) - The shared bathroom situation sucks since you could be sharing it with, at the most, 8 people. There's another shared bathroom in the common area but it's open from 8am-11pm during offseason hours. - Old building & still undergoing some renovations - Kinda scary how the staff barges into your hostel room during the afternoon to clean & check the beds

Yelp
I have stayed at this place and at hostel cat two doors down. This place doesn't even compare I wouldn't bother to stay here. The staff tries hard and does their best but it's not good enough when people party all night and you can't get to sleep. Some of the people who stay here are sketchy not like hostel cat not even close. The breakfast that they provide is nice but there's not much more than that. If you're stuck with the high price of casinos and other hotels in Vegas I would suggest you stay at hostel cat.

Ryan R.

Yelp
This place has filthy rooms and uncomfortable beds. The rooms are cramped and small. The bathrooms are disgusting. The owner is arrogant and not easy to talk to. The grounds are not well kept. Do not stay here. Much better hostels nearby that are less expensive and ten times better.
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
Giving this 5 stars for customer service because of Jason, George and the young lady working the front desk. Also for price
google avatar

Kara M.

Yelp
Worse hostel I've ever been too and I have stayed in many. As a travel agent I would never recommend this dump. Poor management. Not clean. Rude desk clerks. Not very flexible or accommodating. Save you money.

Yelp
This is review is going to take an odd spin as Sin City Hostel was the make or break factor in the experience of a lifetime (that I hope to repeat). Because of my little buddy's special needs, my travels are limited. On the rare occasion that I am able to break away, I have to travel solo. In case I have to turn around and head home. Such was the case when I decided to capture a dream and go to the Electric Daisy Carnival in 2018. Being a last minute booker, my choice of accommodations was limited. Wanting the most Vegas experience, I jumped when I came across Sin City. It was the perfect jump! I drove in by myself, knew no one, and had never stayed in a hostel. Within 30 minutes, the hostel concept was well seated and within an hour, I was kicking it with other festival goers. The room was clean, including the beds. The WiFi was fast. Plenty of electrical outlets. Breakfast fixings were tasty. But what made the difference were the people. Both the staff and the other patrons. There was a respectable mix of males and females, though I'm not sure if everyone was going to EDC. If you can book a bed, please do! Though I do have 2 VERY IMPORTANT suggestions. Use the Walgreens on the corner for everything. Don't go to the gas station. You will pay twice as much for everything! And for the EDC crowd, use the shuttle bus. Don't fight traffic! It will make your stay at Sin City so much better. I hope to see Sin City Hostel again!

Yelp
This is honestly the best hostel I've ever stayed in. They have the greatest crew working there to help make your Vegas stay a great one. They serve a complementary breakfast in the morning and also have bbq on the weekends complimentary. Thank you Cori and crew for the best Vegas experience! Totally made the trip wonderful!
google avatar

Dan W.

Yelp
if you're traveling solo, don't even bother. If you're choosing to share rooms with strangers which I did, you just might be kept awake by others socializing... my experiences at this place were varied, but that wasn't the only problem. Shared bathroom / shower, sharing rooms with STRANGERS, mild odor in the room.... hostels aren't for me. So I won't be staying in one ever again. This is not to say you wouldn't like staying at a hostel, maybe even this one. despite the very low price and free breakfast ( less than $20 / night), I'll warn you that you do get what you pay for.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. The beds are reasonably priced and it's located just off the strip. You are walking distance or a short bus ride from everything. If you go make sure to check out some of the hostel's events. I recommend the Friday night limo tour. When we went it was 25 dollars for the ride admission to the club and free drinks in the limo. The mattresses are foam, yes, but it's pretty firm and a foot thick. The common areas have plenty of space and a pool table. What really sells this place over any of the others is the staff. Genuinely warm and inviting they really go the extra mile for you. I am a vegetarian and for whatever reason Las Vegas is not particularly friendly to us for whatever reason. During the (Free) Friday night BBQ they offered to pick up garden burgers for me. Awesome. My friend didn't have the required shoes for the nightclub on Saturday; it was cool he borrowed a pair. They were all very knowledgeable about the surrounding area, restaurants, pools, bars, clubs, casinos. They can help you out. Oh, and as a bonus across the street is a themed wedding chapel. While I was there I saw more than 15 happy couples march out with an Elvis clad in gold lame.

Yelp
I picked the Sin City hostel after hearing great things from someone I met in Denver and someone I met in New Orleans. I stayed for two weeks and I LOVED it. Checking in was easy, I got a tour and a towel! A free and yummy breakfast is provided every morning. There were even a couple of BBQs! Finding friends to hang out with was easy, which was great because I was traveling alone. Not only that, the staff are a bunch of really cool people and they would come and hang and chat, too. It really started to feel like a vaca fam. I had an absolute blast! There are a few restaurants around, a gas station and walgreens a block or two away. I like to walk a lot so I walked to the strip almost every day. The bus picks up and drops off close to the hostel as well. I will definitely be back. I tell everyone about this place. I made great memories and lifetime friends.

Yelp
Very nice place. The lady who checked me in was very nice and took me to my room and showed me around. The room is nice and quiet just a little chilly but the blanket and bed were nice and comfortable. A shady area to be in but at least it's well lit and there's cars that come down the road so it's not like you're all alone but it's not best to go out by yourself at night. Other than that great place and a nice stay.
google avatar

Greg G.

Yelp
Good staff. Calm atmosphere. Good for day, good for night. Great ChrisWich sandwiches.

Yelp
This place is a hell hole. In a hostel you are getting some different I understand that but this one is just trash. On our first night here one of the people that stayed in our room peed in my bed while I was laying in it. After informing the staff and showing restraint by not punching him in the face, they switched the room I was staying in albeit as slowly and ineptly as could be. Both rooms smelled like a middle school locker room. The area is shady although it's located between the strip and Fremont street also closely located to a bus stop. Despite this being recommended as a fun hostel there is definitely almost no fun here. No actual pub crawls or recreational activities within the premises. I've come to expect a certain level of service from the staff at a hostel by which I mean I expect none. But this one takes the cake the staff here does not seem to know how to talk to guests with exception to the cleaning boys. I would avoid a nightmare at this place and just stay in a hotel or anywhere else.

Yelp
Love love love this place! Sin City Hostel is very cooool. And for the single wanderluster its lotsa fun! Hope to come back in in the fall or holiday season! Gotta partake in the Limo ride at my next visit! Thank you Sin City Hostel Staff! Cant wait to blog on this!!! Cindy
google avatar

Chandler N.

Yelp
Apparently it only accepts international travelers and my money, being a local who's in a jam and needs a bed for one night, isn't good enough for these hipsters. Neither their website nor trip advisor/booking.com states this.
google avatar

Tatum W.

Yelp
Honestly I had a ball at this place, I meet amazing people and rarely left the location because of comfort! They had breakfast every morning and a cool cookout on Saturday with drinks!! Also we were well informed about the events around the strip.. This place is super clean as well!! First time at a hostel and I feel it was well worth the trip!!

Sumanth N.

Yelp
Safety: I'd rate 2/10 on this aspect. The neighborhood and the vicinity around is frankly sketchy. You may come across a lot of homeless and shady people. Wouldn't hurt to bring your taser/pepper spray. Cleanliness: You don't have to be a cleanaphobe to discern the conditions of this place. Even if you are okay with least bit orderly, you may be counting your time here. From the rooms to towels, it is a mess. If you're staying make sure to bring heavy supplies of hand sanitizer and wipes. People: I'd have to stay the staff can be condescending and rude. I had a billing dispute with them ans they refused to help out. Anyway got my credit card company involved and they sorted things out. Their customer service is outright pathetic and is going downhill. Price: It is pretty economical what they charge here. But hey, does your safety have a price? So either save up and stay at a better location or suck up and put up with this place. Definitely NOT Recommend! Updated: 06/13/17

Yelp
This used to be a great hostel,.. the owner has changed many policies lately. I was told not to say the word "bedbug" or I would be tossed out at 1AM! I would not recommend it to anyone just now. It is in denial about the infestation and so not addressing the problem. I have been traveling for more then 50 years and have stayed at this hostel 4 times. I have never experienced anything like what happened in the last week.
google avatar

Lcop S.

Yelp
I stayed here for once, it was pretty aweful..i got rashes on my hand from bed bugs..The at the reception was ok , but the girl was aweful..i felt she was a more racist..the rooms and the bathroom was not clean..i will recommend las vegas gostel.. a lot cheaper and they have a pool..
google avatar

Lauréline P.

Yelp
Life saving stop on my road trip. Rooms are clean and have a/c. The man at the reception is welcoming and helpful. Possibility to park the car securely at night. Nice common room with breakfast. Lots of tips to go out and even some organized club crawl in the weekend (I haven't tried them). Last but not least, I was able to use a washing machine and a drier for 3$, and was even given the detergent and the change! All of this for 17$ a night.
google avatar

Jennifer P.

Yelp
For $13 a night per person, my friend and I saved a lot of money. We met some really cool people from Europe. It's a nice hostel, free breakfast (they have Nuttela!) and bathroom in the room instead of a community bathroom. There isn't much to see on the wall to the strip, so it's worth a cheap taxi fare.

Amber N.

Yelp
I'm amazed to hear these negative reviews on TripAdvisor because the hostel is $12 per night. Come on people! Where else in the US have you found a $12 a night hostel that includes breakfast? - which by the way, is not just toast. It's toast and waffles, coffee, tea, sometimes fruit, and nutella, syrup butter and jam. They need to make some money! They also give out hot dog dinners - OK it's not gourmet but lets be real. As far as location -- it is closer to Downtown Vegas than anything, and Pawn Stars is right down the street. Prime Las Vegas Strip real estate is a bit expensive. I thought the staff was awesome, and they did like to party too! It's Vegas, not the Swiss Alps. Semi-private rooms are just that - semi private! If the bathrooms are out of TP - ask for it. Most hostels do this because people steal it. WiFi is shoddy, I'll admit that drove me a little nuts when trying to plan stuff. I stayed two weeks and I didn't run into bed bugs. I love when people get some form of bug bite and they assume it's bed bugs. First off, you can see bed bugs at night. They bite in threes, itch like hell, and leave blood stains on the mattresses. My entire house was infected with these once so I am very familiar with them. They suck, and I assure you if I came across them I wouldn't have stayed one night. As for the rude woman, I know who everyone is referring to and she no longer works there. The immediate area isn't amazing, but it's a 5-minute cab ride to Downtown and they organize limo tours to the Strip almost every night if there are enough people. There are no fancy decorations on the walls - it's bare bones but that is how hostels have been for ages. You are in Vegas, go party and quit whining. There are cheap hotels out there of course, but you won't get to meet people like you do when you stay in a hostel.
google avatar

Glamm R.

Yelp
I stayed in this hostel over the week end to ditch the huge price hikes that happen at all the hotels around town on Friday and Saturday. Wow, way to much fun. Larry was friendly, and had an awesome limo tour, with free liquor before and in the limo to the club. He was very warm and delightfully humorous. The rooms are simple, but very clean. The cleaning crew scrubbed every day. I tried hostel cat before, and there rooms were a complete disaster. Sin City Hostel is a Million times better in cleanliness and keeping riff raff (Aka drug folks) out. I would advise you to upgrade to a 4 bed dorm vs a 6 bed dorm. The bunk beds just arn't made for a full grown man of 180lbs to sleep on, but the memory foam in the 4 bed dorms is like sleeping on a cloud. I highly recommend this place if your looking to have fun on the cheap in Vegas.
google avatar

Autozone90028sux A.

Yelp
A person also staying here said how the guy with the repressed homosexual hair ( Manager ?) speaks down to the other staff who work here. I saw the exact same thing. The good folk that work here could be the best people in the world and he could be the worst.
google avatar

Jonathan F.

Yelp
It's Vegas, so this isn't the place most people are going to stay at unless they are just traveling through or trying to stay as cheap as possible. The first time I stayed here it was my first time in Vegas and I just needed a place for one night until another room I got kicked in. The other two times were just to get drunk while traveling through to other places. Overall you'll get what you pay for, that's all you can really ask. Service is exceptional and they keep as clean as they can I suppose... It's a hostel in Vegas.
google avatar

Louis L.

Yelp
2 great nights I had there ! Awesome staff and activities. Felt like home with the xbox 360 and a bit of french in the place ! Thanks

Jarad A.

Yelp
Love this hostel! The staff are awesome, very helpful and they're fellow travellers so they're always ready to join you for a drink. They clean all the rooms and common areas every day so you know it's clean. The hostel is a bit far from the main part of the strip, but is very close to the Stratosphere as well as Fremont St, which is an amazing area at night, some great bars down there. I've had a great time at this hostel, don't want to leave, but will definitely be back next time i'm in Vegas! It's the perfect place to stay if you're a young traveller looking for a good time :-)

Yelp
I really hate writing bad reviews but we've stayed in quite a few hostels and this was definitely not one of the memorable ones. We booked a private room (don't want to think about what a shared room would be like). The room reeked of gasoline, the window was broken, we found hairs and stains in the sheets and the blankets were mouldy. We shared our bathroom with a super sweet young woman. The bathroom was clean, shower was fine. Bring your own towel, they don't provide you with anything. We were in the kitchen once, never went back and skipped the hostel breakfast, because the atmosphere in the common room was super weird and the kitchen was filthy. Staff is okay, pretty friendly. Miguel (the owner?) is a nice guy. The location is by the Charleston bus stop, takes you about 20 minutes to get to The Venetian on Deuce (24 hour ticket for $8 on a surprisingly nice bus). Neighborhood is sketchy. For a weekend and the very low price, the place was borderline. I would recommend you check last-minute deals in Bally's or the Mirage instead of staying here (we had friends who did that and payed the same amount we did for a lovely room right downtown on the strip). We won't be going back to Sin City. Sorry for the bad review but I have to be honest...
google avatar

Matt E.

Yelp
I've stayed in a number of hostels from the south west, to montreal, to nyc. This is the worst hostel I've ever been to and the only one that I had to cancel my reservation and walk out after one night. Yeah the price is right, and its on the strip not too far from the first big casino but it's not worth it. The "private" room I booked with my girlfriend at the time was located behind the large room of multiple bunk beds. I had to bring my luggage through the room and tip toe past sleeping guests to get to my room. Even though the room was private the bathroom was shared which was another unexpected surprise. The worst part of the whole experience was the room had a bed that felt more like a piece of plywood with a pad on top, the blanket was a thick piece of wool with tons of animal (and probably people) hair stuck in it. This place was pretty gross and uncomfortable. Check out somewhere else or just don't skimp on hostels when you're in Vegas is my advice.

Yelp
Sin City was surprisingly one of the best hosteling experiences that I've ever had. Please tell me if you can find a much cheaper hostel anywhere in the entire USA. The staff are down to earth and friendly. Last night Johnny from Sin City organized a club crawl and brought us out to treasure island and the fancy place across the street. We were a group of a couple Americans along with a dozen German travelers. That night we landed at a secret LMFAO show, which blew my mind. The go go girls were hot and the midget at the show had at least 6 costume changes. That's the way to throw a secret party. I love the fact that this hostel hits the clubs as a worldwide group. There's probably more of a true international feel here versus the Cat Hostel. The reason is that Sin City receives far more international travelers, due to the preference this hostel gives to passport carrying party pilgrims. The hostel is close to the strip, maybe a 20 minute walk. The owner is a great guy who will chat on a deeper than the normal about politics. He was generous enough to let me stay for hours after check out, as I was leaving Vegas later that night. I rate it 5 poker chips.

William B.

Yelp
Cheap place, has a kitchen, and is conveniently located right next to the bus stop (the bus on the strip runs 24/7). I love the huge tv in the living room and the guitar hero, it's a great place to meet other travelers and to plan things together (i.e. go to Freemont St, the Strip, Red Rock Canyon...etc.). Definitely much better than a hotel because of its cool social environment. The place can be a bit sketchy at night, but that's more near the 711 that's on the corner. There's also a funny little chapel across the street and a little Thai restaurant.

James G.

Yelp
1st time ever staying at a hostel and can honestly say I was pleasantly suprised. Stayed here friday the 13 and checked out Sunday. The staff was great! Shout out to Brittany, Wanda, and Jason and the rest of the staff for enhancing my stay at the hostel. Everyone staying at the hostel were likeminded traveler's and bugdet minded. So not staying at the strip and inside a casino and throwing your money away is not the only way to have fun in vegas. This hostel has budget friendly activities and free morning breakfast. But aside from having a clean place to lay your head at night and bathe , the great people and staff you meet at the hostel is what made my stay here wonderful

Peter C.

Yelp
My vegas experience: I visited vegas alone, spent the first three nights at an overpriced luxurious hotel (@Mandalay just for the vegas experience) and realized that it was pointless. i gambled all day, then Id go back to a big lonely hotel room. It wasnt cool. I realized I had only spent a matter of hours in that room out of the three days I paid for. So, for my last two days I stayed at two of the local hostels and did the same thing. The first one isnt worth mentioning. But this one; it was definitely my best day in vegas. Met the coolest people, the most hospitable staff, and had just a great time. Very great experience here! The staff was awesome. Definitely visiting again and Im already planning to bring my friends here! Thank you so much sin city hostel! Costa Ricans (the manager) definitely knows how to treat people!

Bonesaw M.

Yelp
Stayed here for 4 nights. Friendly and helpful staff, clean room/bathroom, and a 15 minute taxi ride to anywhere one might want to go on the strip. There were also various amenities available in the common area with working WiFi and a clean kitchen. Gated parking lot was also a plus. I will certainly return.
