Sina Villa Matilde

We had a wonderful time at this villa. We initially had a health issue that they assisted with and were very kind and helpful. They were so concerned and glad to see that the health issue was fine.|The property is absolutely stunning in a natural setting. Located in a lovely little town. Service at the pool was excellent and restaurant was very good. They also provided a list of restaurants that were great. We had such a great time that we extended our stay and spent two weeks at the villa.|All of the staff were excellent. We loved our stay and will be returning next summer.||A great hotel with natural beauty and lovely service!!

Stayed in the original villa, needs some TLC, and my bathroom had an unpleasant smell- standing water/chlorine, but bathroom had a balcony (swoon). The restorations that have been were sympathetic to the age of the villa. Staff/food excellent. Charm trumped niggles.

Pros. Pool. Staff. ||Very uncomfortable beds and pillows are like sleeping on a rock very little sleep even though it’s quiet. ||Middle of nowhere . Train station is a good 25 mini walk to get to Turin in an hour walking through a not so great town. We paid for a driver to pick us up which was €25 euros each way so it’s not exactly cheap but there are no taxis. |Food at the restaurant is expensive for what it is and fussy for no apparent reason. There is a restaurant around 5 mins walk which is ok but again fussy food. 25 minute walk to any other restaurant. ||I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for tourists tbh. It’s ok if you have family in the area you’re visiting but not really anything else. ||Breakfast is like a b&b and runs out quickly without being restocked. Superior rooms are far from superior. I read a review to not look too close and I suggest you don’t. Lots of cobwebs it’s old so I get it but they can make it more comfortable if they tried. If you like the old rustic Italian town with not much here then go for it. Not for me couldn’t wait to leave it which is really sad when on holiday. Oh and be careful of bugs they bite like hell.

The hotel has history and charm, but it is woefully in need of consistent quality, which seems to escape them. Last year, we had a room in which the shower didn't drain and would flood the floor. They moved us, which helped us, but I also overheard other guests complain about ineadequate air conditioning in their rooms. This year, the extra bed they put in our room COLLAPSED. I looked and could see the bed leg quality was cheap. The legs had no cross bracing support and were held on by a crimped on weak clip. Any lateral movement could cause the legs to give way. It wad midnight and they wanted to move us to another room. I stated my daughters were sleeping, so the night manager brought up another cheesy bed, and I used it but slept with one eye open, so to speak till morning. Though the staff has polite and helpful, overall, I felt they did not value us and other as guests (they credited us for the extra bed charge), but I won't return.

Beautiful hotel, amazing staff, felt looked after from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Nothing we asked for was too much trouble. Spent a memorable week and will return for sure.

Great historical residence, large rooms, grand lounge areas, somewhat palatial. Restaurant dining is exquisite with reasonable wine prices. Staff exceptionally helpful. Best to have a car as other facilities are a fair walk away. Definitely get a taxi if coming by train, the hotel will arrange.

A charming historic villa in a beautiful setting. What made this property really stand out was the amazingly friendly and attentive staff!! My bags were 4 days delayed in arriving to Milan b/c of Delta's operational challenges. Sofia, Cinthia, Giorgio, and Paola were remarkable in their constant attentiveness to my needs: helping me to find clothes at a nearby mall and ceaselessly trying to get information from an unresponsive baggage office. I felt so well taken care of! The rest of the staff at the Villa were equally friendly and personable. Oh, and the food at the Villa was fresh and delicious!
