Sinalei Reef Resort & Spa

We had a wonderful week at Sinalei and we couldn’t recommend it more! The resort is gorgeous and the gardens are exquisite. The staff are lovely. (Everyone in Samoa is very friendly). We enjoyed the restaurant for breakfast and dinner every day and we were never disappointed. The pool is perfect and the adjacent bar very handy! A treatment at the spa was divine, especially with the location right on the water. We’d come back to Samoa and Sinalei in a heartbeat.

From being picked up at the airport by Sio to the last evening with Johny singing for us during dinner we had the best time . Our villas were very clean with great views . A short distance away is Sopoaga Waterfall which is always worth stopping for a swim also Vavau Beach has some of the best coral and fish on the island . There are toilets and cold showers, no restuant or bar so take your own refreshments . This time all the dining was had down overlooking the reef and water with all the staff so helpfull and friendly . The local fish snapper wahoo mahi mahi where just the best . We enjoyed the golf course playing 4 or 5 holes each day . The highlight of trip was helping Sloan and Sio relocate approx 150 baby clams around the restaurant and jetty . Stayed here again with my partner. Nice location but no way is it a five or four star resort they claim to be. No way. Rooms are very very old and dated. No phones for one and no tvs. Outdoor showers are very dated as is the whole resort. Lady manager walks around as if she is some queen. Staff friendly but poorly trained for a resort saying it's high end. More low end then high end. The only plus side is the location. Beautiful but sadly the resort is dated and under refurbished. Old old to be honest. And finally as per the other reviews watch out for the old boy the owner. We saw him a few times with his wondering eyes to the females. If he paid more attention to the resort perhaps it would be better managed Joe Boy.

We would like to rate as 4 star but when you compare the money you pay to the quality of the accommodation we can only rate as average.|Photos attached will show the lack of maintenance given to our bungalow. Relatively easy jobs to do could make a huge difference to guest’s experience. The front door took much effort to close (see pic), the shower, vanity and taps were all very old and loose fitting. The soap dispenser was disgusting really! Replacing the mouldy grout or a coat of paint would also freshen things up. The curtains in the living area were old and torn.|On the positive side, the bungalow was spacious, the bed comfortable, tea/coffee and kettle provided… but not replenished. Good size cold bar-fridge. All of the units are nicely separated from each other.|Around the resort the outlook is beautiful and the gardens well maintained. It would be a challenge to get to and from the overwater restaurant if you have mobility issues or are visually impaired. It is difficult to see the paths very well of a night with full vision! |The airport transfers were excellent. The kayaks are great, complimentary afternoon tea is also great. Car hire very convenient from the resort. Despite what their website says - there was no wifi anywhere and no Myfi portable modems available (all were being used apparently). This is a problem when you need to access maps, banks or airline websites etc.|The golf course is a token at best. It was virtually unplayable due to the length of the grass and there are no flags to say where the holes are.||The restaurant over the water was very nice. The restaurant staff were friendly and efficient. Most of the food was very nice, however breakfast was a bit hit and miss. Generally only 2 fruits, no yoghurt and the juice was really just a cordial. We anticipated more offerings at breakfast given the “luxury” claim and the cost you pay..|There is a nice little cafe along the beach toward the next resort which offers a variety to eating at the resort each night.|The 4% credit card surcharge is offensive. Whilst it may be common practice in Samoa it is ordinary to charge luxury prices on unmaintained accommodation then add 4% on top.|Finally, the refillable water bottles are a fantastic offering, but that is where the eco-options end. Suggest they offer cards like many resorts do where you can keep the same towels and sheets rather than having clean linen every day.|I’ve attached photos to support our review above.

We had such a nice time at the Sinalei Resort - we were three people and had the Beachfront Villa and the Lounge booked, which were beautiful. You can kayak or snorkel out from the beach - we did both and saw turtles both times! Everyone was really friendly, but a special mention goes to Sio, the guest relation officer, who gave us valuable tips for trips around the island.

The most wonderful resort with the most wonderful staff. We recently revisited the resort, where we honeymooned, for our 25th wedding anniversary and it was still as magical as it was the first time around. The resort has a great set of facilities in a glorious location and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Great place to stay. So welcoming to us both. We had a minor emergency and the owner and wife were so helpful also the driver ,Sio.They went the extra mile to assist us.|Gardens beautiful also the beach. Great to be able to swim with the turtles.|Simple breakfast but able to buy a good cooked breakfast. The Samoan people are laid back and not in a hurry .We need to take a leaf out their book and slow down and enjoy life.

My wife and I got married at Sinalei and it was the perfect venue! The resort and grounds are what you imagine when you think of a south pacific paradise. Si'iva and all of the staff went out of their way to make our wedding exactly what we wanted and then exceeded any of our expectations with some intimate touches. We will never forget their efforts. Would recommend Sinalei in general for anyone looking to have a relaxing vacation and think it is the absolute perfect place to have a wedding. The food was amazing, it is located in front of a beautiful beach, and there is easy access to a boat to take you out to the surf. There really is nothing more we could have asked for in our time at Sinalei. We look forward to coming back sometime soon!
