We had a great experience with Sinbads...the room, hotel is very clean. The rooms are very spacious and all the staff is very friendly. This next comment has nothing to do with the staff but the buffet breakfast is not good at all. The food was just Luke warm bacon too crisp and not hot, the scrambled eggs were cold, the toast was very limp and wet from the warmer I guess. The potatoes were cold. I'm sorry but I really think because they are affiliated with the Steele hotels they should do like the Albatross and have a comp breakfast (full made hot breakfast).

Stayed for two nights with family. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Check-in was a breeze even though there were several guests arriving near the same time. The room was well appointed with small fridge, USB chargers, walk in shower and comfortable queen beds. The restaurant was great and wonderful service. We enjoyed our time at Sinbad's and would definitely stay there in the future. I will give 5 stars for overall value, friendliness and cleanliness.

The hotel itself was OK. My room was comfortable and I could walk to restaurants and the Smallwood Arts Centre. I did not enjoy the breakfast. There was only a limited selection of items, most of which I do not eat. (I do not eat bacon or sausage and I prefer my eggs boiled or fried.) The best thing on the breakfast buffet was the toast. But on my second day, there was no toast when the breakfast service began. O had to watch the area to see when the servers finally brought out the toast.

As many reviewers pointed out, this is an older establishment. But for business or an economic family stay this place is ideal. My room was really clean and the bed was comfortable. Plenty of towels and a great shower. The real jem is the restaurant/bar in the hotel. The food was delicious and our server Christina was friendly and attentive. We had wings, onion rings and the moose burger served in the bar. Excellent In the morning there was a free breakfast buffet that served the usual scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, toast and beverages. Quite good and even more value added. There were a few restaurants within walking distance if preferred.

The hotel I usually stay at in Gander was sold out, so I ended up staying at Sinbad's this year. I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite which gave me a lot of space, well more than I needed. The hotel interior has a dated look as other reviews have mentioned, but I was very comfortable and the staff were all lovely. An advantage this hotel has over others in town is that its location is more central and so there are more places to go that are within walking distance.||I saw a lot of complaints about the breakfast but that wasn't important to me; I always like to have toutons for breakfast at the Bread Box which is in the plaza across the street.||The only problem I encountered was finding a parking space after coming back from a show late at night. Since I knew I'd be leaving at around 4am the next morning to head to the airport, I took the liberty of parking somewhere that I'm not sure I was meant to.

This hotel, while a good price. Is very outdated and in need of a renovation to bring it into 2024. Things like not having leaks, carpet that digs into the wheels of the suitcase making it near impossible to move them easily, and TV’s that have the picture quality of a 2004 flip phone are just a few things that would need to be updated. There is also very limited parking so if you go during a busy season, good luck.

This place needs a total remodel. Staff is doing their best to accommodate, but it appears Steele group has overlooked this place in favor of their other hotels, namely The Jag. Don't fall for the free breakfast. It's not the same as the picture in the hotel. Scrambled dry eggs, over done bacon, pre buttered toast, cold roasted cubes of potatoes, canned fruit. Yogurt was in a big bowl. Not worth it at all! Housekeeping is available every other day. A tiny bottle of shampoo, mouthwash, but not hair conditioner available. Towels were limited. The restaurant food was not as described on the menu and no way worth the prices asked. Seriously would not recommend this place.

The room was ok, bit outdated. Carpet and drapes could do with some upgrades. Old, old plastic flowers in the hallways are absolutely begging to be thrown out-please do so-pitiful!|Biggest issue was breakfast. We had friends from the US with us-first time to Newfoundland. We went to the dining room; it was full, we were in a line-up out the hall. A waitress told us we could go to another dining room, Salon A. We went there and the buffet containers were empty, except for a couple pieces of dried-up toast, 3 or 4 sausages, long gone cold, scrambled egg container was empty. The waitress couldn't tell us if there would be more food coming or not. No food arrived. We could not believe it! Why direct us there if there was no breakfast to be had!! The waitress in that second room tried to explain that they were full and there was "a baseball tournament going on". What that had to do with the hotel not being prepared for a full house was not understandable. The hotel management knew how many guests were booked and obviously were very ill prepared to service those guests. It was pitiful, and to say the least, very embarrassing for us who were with out of province friends. A very poor impression!|This is not our first experience with this hotel's poor service. We have gone for dinner there in the past and had the worst meal we have ever had-service wise and food-wise. I won't go into that in this post; just suffice to say, this is not our first poor experience with Sinbads. We will not return.

Yelp
We booked Sinbad's during a trip to the Gander area. The hotel was nice and clean, and staff were friendly. The room was a little outdated, but okay for the one night we stayed. The hotel is in a nice location. Suitable for for a quick visit to the area. We have received notice that the hotel has been in the process of renovations, which I'm sure would make it quite pleasant.

Yelp
Great service, very clean, great location. I enjoyed my stay here for the Ride for Sight, and I would recommend it to anyone. The dining room is very nice, and offers a very good & cheap breakfast.

Yelp
Very comfortable room. We were surprised to have a kitchenette with an actual stove and oven, but didn't get a chance to use it on our one night. The hotel had a large tour group staying during our visit, but they put them in a separate dining area for the complimentary breakfast, so we didn't feel the place was over crowded as is often the case when a tour group takes over. The wifi worked great.
