8 ways to explore Singapore’s Botanic Gardens - SilverKris

"This recently added precinct comprises two conserved colonial-era buildings that have been revamped for public use and interpretation, forming part of a wider extension connected to the gardens by a 200m pedestrian bridge. It showcases adaptive reuse of heritage architecture alongside new exhibition and visitor spaces." - Aleemah Basirah

Lately, we’ve been setting goals to walk between 5km to 10km, and one of the best routes we’ve taken is from Commonwealth to the beautiful Botanic Gardens. 🌿 The place is perfect for walking or jogging and peaceful, refreshing, and surrounded by greenery. It’s a wonderful spot to unwind while staying active, and we’ll definitely keep coming back as part of our fitness journey. 🚶🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️✨

I felt like this is a lot better value than Gardens by the Bay, since it's free and very extensive. Highlights for me are the Orchid Garden and the Evolution Garden. It occupies a huge space, so I suggest you pick a gate closest to the area you want to start from, when picking the route. But there is a dedicated MRT station that takes you directly to the Bukit Timah gate. There are a few restaurants inside, and a smattering of visitor centres. Lots of places to sit and go to the toilet when needed. The visitor centres have an air conditioned shop if you want to take a break from the heat. I would recommend that you bring an umbrella and water (or a water container). Wear comfortable shoes. I don't think we were able to cover the entirety of the gardens but we still managed to clock in 13 km / 16k steps. I think you need to allot at least 5 hours to cover majority of the garden.

Pretty cool place to take photos, but photographers watch yourselves because according to the staff there, my lonely flash in the middle of a big grass field is "obstructing" people. Meanwhile, there were 2 massive groups of people playing in the fields on the other side, with their 20 chairs and picnic mats. Thank you NParks 🤗.

Nice place for a walk. It's better to start your journey early in the morning, before the daytime heat

Beautiful spacious garden. Relatively quiet. Great place to take photos, and bring kids, and pets. The Gallop Extension Visitor Centre is free for all to visit, and the COMO Adventure Grove also seems like a fun place for kids to play at.

The place is charming. There are many fantastic flowers. Below 12 yrs, it is free. A heavy rain happened, so we waited more than 1 hour before taking a taxi, which was very far.
