During my recent stay at the Marriott Tang Plaza in Singapore, I experienced top-notch service and unparalleled comfort. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the elegance of the hotel and the warm welcome from the staff. A standout aspect of my stay and the reason I extended for 3 months was the exceptional room service provided by Ran, the room service attendant. Ran went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met, whether it was delivering a delicious meal or providing extra amenities. Her attention to detail and friendly demeanor made my stay even more enjoyable. The room was immaculate, spacious, and equipped with all the modern conveniences I needed. The bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring I had restful nights throughout my stay. Additionally, the view from my room overlooking Orchard Road was spectacular, adding to the overall experience. The breakfast buffet was particularly delightful, with a wide array of fresh and delicious choices. The staff in the dining area were courteous and attentive, enhancing the dining experience. My continued stay at the Marriott Tang Plaza is memorable and highly enjoyable, largely thanks to the exceptional service provided by Ran and the rest of the hotel staff. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Singapore.

Seamless check-in and check-out experience, friendly staff, great amenities and great breakfast buffet selection. Really enjoyed the truffle eggs Benny and mentaiko Aburi omelet! The only cons would be the lack of toilet bidet, the room curtains were challenging to close/open (you’d have to work your way beneath the floor lamp shade to pull on the curtain rods), room light master switch not the most seamless (would have walk in the dark at night to turn on the bathroom light) and the lack of toilet bidet. Other than those, it was a pretty awesome stay!

Every time we come to Singapore now we stay here. Staff are wonderful actually they’re over the top always the same staff very low turnover the front desk is the best I’ve seen anywhere and management actually cares duty managers are also excellent bell hops are amazing The hotel is 41 years old. Definitely needs the rooms revamped the hotel could use a facelift for sure but it’s decent and an excellent excellent location and the breakfast is OK not great It’s OK, I highly highly recommend this property. We used to stay at the JW Marriot. We don’t stay there any longer too much cost cutting and they don’t respect Elite members. Where here at the Marriott Tang they certainly do.

Prepare your taste buds for a seafood lover's paradise at Marriott Singapore Tang Plaza. Nestled within the bustling city, this restaurant boasts an impressive array of ocean treasures that will leave you craving for more. From the moment you step in, the aroma of fresh seafood tantalizes your senses. The seafood section is a sight to behold, featuring an exquisite selection of prawns, crabs, mussels, and more, all sourced from the finest waters. The oysters steal the show, plump and succulent, served on ice and ready to be savored with a squeeze of lemon or a dollop of tangy cocktail sauce. Each bite is a burst of briny goodness that transports you to the coastlines where they were harvested. Sushi and sashimi enthusiasts will rejoice at the sight of impeccably sliced fish, expertly arranged on delicate platters. From buttery salmon to melt-in-your-mouth tuna, every piece is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality. But it's not just about raw seafood—the grilled options are equally impressive. Juicy prawns, tender squid, and flaky fish fillets are perfectly cooked to retain their natural flavors, enhanced with just a hint of smokiness from the grill. Pair your seafood feast with a glass of crisp white wine or a refreshing cocktail for the ultimate dining experience. With impeccable service and a stunning ambiance, Marriott Singapore Tang Plaza sets the standard for seafood buffets in the city. Whether you're a seafood aficionado or a curious diner looking to explore new flavors, this restaurant promises an unforgettable culinary journey that celebrates the treasures of the sea.

As a woman solo traveller - one is very discerning on where one wants to stay. Since my office location was closer to orchard then to South beach - chose the Marriott tang plaza and boy I am disappointed in myself for doing so!!!!||Outside of the Chinese restaurant which is fantastic on service and food despite being short staffed - the rest of the property is not repeatable.||I had booked a stay from 14th April at the property despite the fact that I was checking in only early morning 15th. This was because checkin is at 3pm and wanted a room as soon as I came in after a red eye flight. Checkin was okay - the room I had booked was a twin but it turned out to be weird in dimension and uncomfortable so requested a switch to a King bed.||Till 5.30pm (from 9am) the staff was figuring out a room till I got really upset. The room I got was on the 8th floor. As a mariott bonvoy member one accepts basic service - here it was sub par. Every day, for some insane reason my stay as I booked on the bonvoy app kept decreasing in the no of days to ultimately come down to 2 vs the 6 nights I stayed and was charged for.||But that was not the best part, the best part was receiving a super rude mail from the hotel telling me that I will be penalised for my stay on 14th!!!! as a no show. I payed for a day more than I stayed for ease of access and the hotel was so clueless and sent me their "for all" penalty email without bothering to check.||At checkout, the lady who had charged a pre block did not know how to reverse it - and told me casually that she was moving ahead to charge me again, at which point I got very very upset and she called the manager who could fix things.||The hotel also offers very reluctant baggage support so pls be careful. I was left to carry 2 large bags alone at checkout. And let me save the best for last - one of the duty manager's I spoke to - I told her this was my worst stay at mariott in years - she smiled and said thank you. Hope you visit us again.||I can place names of the staff I interacted with but skipping that since the idea is not to shame the staff but get the hotel to wake up.

We stayed here in April for 4 nights. The room was well laid out. The bed was comfortable & bathroom large. Loved the extra counter mirror & chair to do your make up. Staff were very friendly & helpful. The location was perfect as with the Subway station below the hotel it made it so easy to get around Singapore. We were travelling with friends who were in a separate room & we bought the 3 day pass for the Subway & Local Buses. We only used the Subway & also the Hop Off Hop On Bus & River Cruise. Singapore is such a lovely clean, safe city with so much to see & do.

We went to Marriott Tang Plaza hotel for buffet breakfast for my daughter's 8th birthday|Kevin Le - Chef de Cuisine surprised us and our daughter with a small cake and candle to wish her a Happy Birthday. What a beautiful gesture and a kind soul. Thank you so much!!

After arriving via ferry, I booked Grab to pickup in Marriott lobby. Very near to ferry arrival door, just turn left after exiting immigration and customs. Nice big lobby to chill and wait for your pickup. Maybe next time I’ll book a room here, right now too expensive haha.

Yelp
Beautifully decorated, wonderful staff and an amazing breakfast buffet all right on top of the MRT station in Singapore. Centrally located to all the sites and if you like shopping, amazing malls right outside. The pool was a lovely relaxing treat after the hot humid days. I highly recommend.

Sharon N.

Yelp
Everyone who works here are so welcoming & friendly. The rooms are nice & clean. The breakfast buffet is nice, a lot of dishes to choose from, which makes it nice, especially when you're staying more than 3 weeks.

Yelp
We stayed here for 5 nights this time and the experience was less than satisfactory The good: This property was near all the chic shopping centers and nice restaurants. The MRT was right in front of the hotel and it was easy to get a ride on Grab/taxi. The bad: (1) our bathroom had the sewer stench occasionally. We informed the front desk multiple times and nothing was done despite apologizing profusely each time (2) we found that our room was not clean upon returning the first day (on a Sunday). It was not a pleasant feeling when you realized that there were no toilet papers in sight when you need them. It took them about 2 hours to come by with the toilet papers and clean towers. We were told that we must request cleaning everyday. I thought a luxury property would automatically be cleaned daily. (3) the water pressure for the shower was abysmally weak. Considering the hot humid Singaporean weather, having a good shower mattered to me. (4) The room was dated. Considering the pricy per night cost, we never felt that we got the luxurious experience that was expected for a premier Marriott property If you are to spend US$400-700 a night here, you will regret the experience. Despite being a life time Bonvoy elite member, I won't stay this hotel ever again.

Tejune K.

Yelp
Buyer beware . I am a titanium lifetime member. I put my cancellation in prior to arriving 24 hours earlier through the mobile app and this hotel claims they never got it and requires proof. If I had proof of something that doesn't exist how am I supposed to produce something I was never sent ?? Buyer beware of bait and switch and easy way this hotel property will charge then most likely books the room out. Talk about insult to injury. Avoid this place or even making reservations in the first place !!!! Ridiculous.

Yelp
My wife and kid and I, stayed there for 5 nights, while on vacation. Great service, fantastic high floor room. The decor and musical ambience is very hip. I spent more time than I would like to admit, holding Siri up and asking Shazam to name that tune on my iPhone so I could create a playlist. The front staff was very friendly and more than helpful in assisting me with printing out documents I needed, or obtaining tickets to Universal Studios. We all loved the morning breakfast. A fantastic array of asian and western choices. My wife and I loved the happy hour with free hors d'oeuvres, which ended up being dinner for us, while our kid got room service in the room, playing on his iPad. Because of all this, and-- it is right above an MRT station, we will be back. King beds appear to be Eastern US King, which is about queen length, but very wide. The one thing I can say is: the gym needs more air conditioning, and they could benefit from installing water stations so one can refill bottles, without having to plow thru so much plastic which is not getting recycled these days, anyway.

Yelp
Afternoon tea $38++ Tried the afternoon tea today at 2-4pm . It starts off with a cold brew tea and you have a wide variety of TWG teas to choose from! The savoury and the sweets are all just as good! I was so full after this! I really enjoyed the scones too, with clotted cream and strawberry jam!

John C.

Yelp
Did not stay in this hotel but wanted to try it as TripAdvisor had tons and tons of reviews for their breakfast buffet. Huge variety of local and International dishes, excellent service, and price wasn't that bad for a Marriott. For sure will return again, not many options early Sunday mornings in SG as most were closed.

Yelp
Well Marriott has certainly outdone itself this time. Lol! I used to work at a 3 Star Marriott back in the day, so when I think Mariott, I can't help to think 'average' 3 to 4 Star. But not Marriott Tang Plaza of Singapore. This is an elegant 5 Star beauty nestled in Singapore's business district. Very touristy area too! The VIP lounge and the outdoor pool share the 5th floor. So after I had a couple gins I literally ran outside and jumped in the pool! I figured since it's my last night in this country, "I'm enjoying myself to the fullest!" 4th floor is Spa/ Fitness Center. Although I didn't use spa facilities, I did get a great work out at the gym. I didn't feel so guilty after I packed on all the extra calories from the buffet breakfast! The room was modern and very clean. Super comfy bed too. If I ever return to this gorgeous country, I will insist on staying here at the Marriott Tang Plaza. The customer service was fantastic as the staff went above and beyond!

Yelp
Still heads and shoulders above the JW Marriott for service and location. The Staff in the Executive Lounge is professional and competitive to staffs of lounges throughout Asia. Elaborate breakfasts, snacks, suppers, with the ultimate in cappuccino machines in the Executive Lounge. Front desk and Concierge also responsive to one's needs. Also dined in the Marriott Cafe on the ground floor where they have daily breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. Elaborate seafood buffets in the evening. Nice pool and gym. Rooms are also well appointed. I'm a bit jaded as I am able to take advantage of Platinum Elite benefits....

Ryan L.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay here! Great and quick service all the way. They're next to a bar which was great for my first day meeting new people and learning more about what to do in Singapore. I recommend everyone to go around and check out the place. There are plenty of shopping areas nearby. Their executive lounge is dope. They have a bartender there that will make a wide variety of drinks. However their alcohol is quite limited and there might not be any except for what the bartender can give you. Their rooms are really big.

Yelp
Good standard hotel in the middle of shopping district. Room air is clean and thermostat is able to be set to low temps - I used 16C, and the room was quickly cooled. Windows are clean and the somewhat circular design ensures great views. Breakfast restaurant in the lobby is outstanding, although one must clearly articulate how to make your fav coffee or eggs. I tried to get eggs made without oil or butter on the grill - 50% of the time successful. Status holders should opt for the restaurant breakfast over the more limited and space constrained lounge. Hotel has subway stop in the basement and indoor (air conditioned) access to all the nearby malls-and wonderful food courts. Bed is very comfortable, and sheets are soft. Tap water is clean, medium softness and certainly drinkable. The sewers/water drainage is old and therefore at 5am - 9am the sewage odor in bathroom is really strong! The sewer uses floor drains... I suspect vs roof vents. Staff is moderately effective. Quite a few appear tired, which is not surprising considering a commute in the heat. The building is historic and was rebuilt in 1982. The hotel elevators require a 3-4 minute wait at peak hours. The building is a replica of Beijing's Imperial Palace. See my plaque pics.

Yelp
So I travel a lot and am a pretty loyal Marriott person, and I have to say the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza is one of my favorite properties in the entire Marriott chain. Every time I stay here they blow me away with the personalized service and the top notch experience. The staff here is so friendly and by the second day will remember your name - not just the front desk staff but the restaurant staff, the bell staff, etc. I am always impressed at the level of personalized service they deliver. The rooms have also recently been updated and are near perfection in terms of amenities, size, etc. You also simply can't beat the location on Orchard Road - walking distance to just about everything and a perfect central location. The restaurant is fabulous - especially the breakfast buffet. It has just about everything you could think of for breakfast and lunch! I also tried out the newly renovated spa on this recent trip and had the most amazing coconut milk massage - heaven. HIGHLY recommend! :) Just a note: on this visit I stayed here and at Marina Bay Sands. I hands-down enjoyed my stay here significantly more. Yes, MBS is a beautiful property but it's also a huge machine and nobody will remember your name, the rooms are nothing special (yet double the price) and the location leaves a lot to be desired. Take my advice and stay here - you'll thank me later. ;)

Yelp
We had the pleasure of staying at the property for 6 nights in August, 2019. Having never visited Singapore before, we based our hotel selection purely on #1 Location, and #2, Bonvoy Status. It did not disappoint. Prior to arriving, the hotel emailed me asking of our anticipated arrival, a PDF copy of the Executive Lounge hours/rules etc. Exhausted from our 16 hour direct flight from SFO, a taxi ride from the airport took approximately 20 mins. We were warmly greeted at the reception, and informed of the hotel amenities, and our Titanium Platinum Elite benefits. Our room was on the 29 floor, the executive floor. We were a little worried as the room was in very close proximity to the elevators, but the room was pretty well sound proofed. King Room, 29th Executive floor, decent size closet with ironing board and iron, 2 bath robes, slippers, wet bar area with complimentary coffee/ Nespresso, 2 complimentary bottles of water a day (more was usually provided without asking), small fridge, large flat screen tv with tons of channels of all languages, small desk, very comfortable king bed. Windows looking out to the front of the hotel/pool area. There is also some complimentary pressing/ironing services for Elite members which we didn't use. Bathroom was average in size, one sink, separate soaker tub from shower. Water pressure was good. Toiletries replenished daily for 2 people. Counter/Storage space adequate, not great. *Here is where the hotel lost a star on my rating: There were no power outlets in the bathroom with the exception of one for an electric razor* Every Day, my wifeI would have to bring her styling products, and blow dryer to the wet bar area to do her hair. Very poor bathroom design. Executive Lounge - Sets the bar pretty high, and we've been to our share of lounges at many properties/locations. Breakfast offerings includes pretty much anything you could want from fruit/pastries/salad/deli/cheese/omelette station and cooked to order eggs, meat etc. We chose to have breakfast in the main restaurant (Included for Platinum Elite Members) which was fantastic. Open all day till late evening to replenish water, tea coffee, light snacks. Evening reception starts at 5:30 and does not disappoint. We never had a problem finding a seat despite others reporting a problem, but it does get crowded. The staff actually come to you and get your drink order, and proactively come around for refills. One could easily eat dinner here. My personal favorite was the pumpkin soup which the chef kindly made/put out on our last night. All the staff in the lounge were personal/professional and welcoming. Pool - Daily visits to cool off, never busy/crowded. Plenty of padded lounge chairs, refreshing water temperature. Location - Well situated to everything, a shoppers paradise, but most importantly, direct access to the metro. Hop on/off bus pick up is right around the corner. Customer Service/Staff - everyone we encountered was very personal and greeted us wherever we were. Greatly appreciate the late check out till 4 pm for a evening departure home. We would return to the Marriott Tang Plaza without hesitation on a future visit. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Yelp
This is somewhat older property in Orchard but well kept and well staffed hotel. It has very beautiful free lounge for guest where you can enjoy breakfast and dinner...did I say "free"? They are one of the best lounge meal I've had from Marriott brand. Omelette made to order is really awesome, and having the dim sum for breakfast is really cool. Pool and fitness are definitely awesome - fitness room has lots of free weight, cardio machines, and a basketball court that overlooks Orchard. Hotel service is superb and they remembers you quickly and nice to be called by first name when you get back from hot steamy outdoor. Couple cons - elevator stinks, it's slow. Another downside is price, it's definitely pricy hotel and location could be bothersome if you are not keen on shopping.

Dee M.

Yelp
This place is absolutely magnificent! I arrived after 2:00 AM a painfully long flight. The service at checkin was amazing. They even offered to take pictures with my camera prior to my check in. Shout out to Misty at the Poolside Grill who brought me a complementary piña colada on the second day of my visit. She remembered me from the first day and went out of her way to bring me a complementary one. How awesome is she for that! Obviously, the best thing about this hotel is its location. It's smack dab in the middle of all of the action. Orchard Road is a shoppers heaven. Love that Bugis St (more shopping) is also within close proximity. The hotel literally faces Tiffany's, Prada, Christian Dior, AND Louis Vuitton. They offer afternoon Tea from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the lobby for SGD $35.00 (roughly US $25 +). I always take advantage of an opportunity for afternoon tea, so to experience here and at the famous raffles hotel is an absolute treat. They have a beautiful pool that gives the illusion of an "infinity pool". There are approximately 12 pool side rooms that are definitely worth the splurge if you live hanging out poolside like me. Need a snack or like I need to eat? No problem you can sit poolside café. It's a white tablecloth affair, but no need to wear your tie my heels. Shorts and T-shirts are just fine here. I like the Market Cafe; it sits facing orchard well. You can enjoy a bite to eat while washing the hustle and bustle of the day pass you by. They also offer an international every morning for about US$25 /$28. This is the place that can't be beat. Marriott Tang Plaza is a must if you plan on visiting Singapore!

Yelp
What an excellent experience, staying at this Marriott location - for so many reasons: * MRT close, literally right next door * across from ION Orchard Mall, Takashimaya dept. store, so much shopping of all price levels * underground access to the malls, Takashimaya's stunning food basement & the Food Opera & Food Republic * Stabucks close * GREAT cafe breakfast buffet! * spacious rooms, comfy beds, great walk-in shower, thoughtful toiletries * gracious service at every turn * walking distance from historic Old Peranakan Emerald Hill area shophouses The breakfast buffet opens super early, at 6am. The many stations of delicious food included: * oranges waiting to be squeezed by the glass * omelettes made to order * cheeses & charcuterie * salad station * a multitude of fresh cut fruit & berries * dim sum * sliced breads with butter & a selection of jams (including kaya!) * a selection of pastries, including amazing flaky croissants * cured salmon * a selection of fresh smoothies * eggs, bacon, hash brown potatoes * rice, beef rendang, chicken pieces, sambal, nasi lemak toppings * hot Chinese food * cereals, meusli, yogurts, milk * a donut station with a chocolate fountain, & toppings/sprinkles * an ice cream bar * hot soup selections We perused the dinner buffet selection briefly, & chose to go to Ion Orchard's Food Opera instead - but we saw about 6 cold seafood selections (shrimp, baby lobsters, mussels, oysters), a huge selection of desserts, & a ton of other great looking options. Singapore on the whole is such a beautiful, gracious, clean place - this hotel is similarly lovely, gracious & clean. I look forward to staying here again!

Shawn A.

Yelp
The hotel is top notch and in prime location. Of course for the price they charge it better be super nice. I'm rating them 4-star as my main reason for this review is about their main restaurant. I enjoy the breakfast and brunch served. Specially on weekend mornings. It's a lot of good food and it easily holds me for the entire day! The executive lounge food is limited. But their fresh fruit is always a nice snack plus the local Tiger beer. I don't care for their mix drinks. Just not worth the calories!!! Have stayed here 4-5 times so obviously I like the place overall.

Joseph L.

Yelp
Stayed here during the notorious virus escapade. The hotel is well situated and near all the public transport you would need. Easy check in and the lobby is beautiful. Deluxe room booked but very mediocre. No mini-bar. In room safe available. Breakfast buffet is dull with limited fare. Certainly not worth the money. However the room service grub is excellent. Below par selection of TV channels. It's a 5 star hotel with no business centre. In brief it's ok but for a 5 star it's underwhelming, especially considering the cost

Melissa L.

Yelp
I'm so very pleased with my decision to stay here during my trip to Singapore. From the moment I walked in to the moment I rolled my suitcase out, I was treated very well. The deluxe room I was provided was BIG and spacious. It is easily one of the bigger hotel rooms I've ever stayed in recently. The room was clean, modern, well appointed and offered a nice view overlooking Orchard Road. The bathroom was spacious and contained a rain shower head along with a standard one. I liked that the A/C didn't blast directly onto the bed! Two complementary bottles of water were offered each day. The staff manning the concierge desk could not have been more helpful and kind, and had some great suggestions re: restaurants, hawker centres and sites to see. They often offered me a chilled bottle of water, which was kept behind their desk. I made one visit to the Executive Lounge during my stay. I was in search of a frosty beverage, perhaps a light snack and some nice cool air after the morning spent walking around the Botanical Gardens invert hot and humid weather. The room was mostly empty, with a few folks working or holding meetings. I found water, sodas and wine on offer, along with some chilled glasses and fresh fruit. It was a nice break from the day's activities. My reservation came with breakfast each day. I liked the mix of Asian and Western dishes on offer. There were plenty of healthy options along with some ice cream and waffles! I enjoyed the soup noodles, omelette station and the fresh fruit. The location of the hotel could not be better. It's located right above an MTR station and there was plenty of shopping and dining options within a few minutes walk. I never had to wait more than a few minutes for a taxi cab, and the closest shuttle stop for transportation to the zoo/safari was in front of the Hyatt next door (a great bargain!). Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at this property. The staff was so very nice and helpful, the room was spacious, clean and functional. The location and the convenience it offers cannot be beat.

Deana M.

Yelp
It's no secret that I love Marriott in other countries. The service and amenities are nothing like their US counterparts. Singapore Marriott was no exception - they spare no expense to give their guests nothing but the best. The hotel was cool from the A/C as soon as you enter which was refreshing considering the weather outside was hot and humid. The staff were professional, nice and extremely helpful. A staff member even offered to show me a particular place I was looking for! Even the staff from the Executive Lounge knew our breakfast drink orders. There was also a separate taxi queue for hotel guests; which came very handy a few times. As far as the rooms are concerned, they were spacious and clean. All the rooms didn't have the "Do Not Disturb" door tag; instead, there was a sign next to the door that you can switch between "Do Not Disturb" or "Make Up Room." And if you have the "Do Not Disturb" light up while house-keeping was going on, they leave you a note to remind you to call at your convenience when you want the your room to be cleaned. Last, the hotel is located on Orchard Road and a great central location for restaurants and shopping. It's about a couple of miles from the famous Marina Bay Sands and Merlion Plaza, but it's about a S$7 cab ride or the MRT station is just across the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel and I would love to stay here again. [TIP] Make sure to have time to visit the pool.

Yelp
Looking for durian snowskin moon cake? If you are then you have to come visit the Marriott. Located outside is a stand that sells delicious moon cakes. They have both traditional moon cakes and snowskin ones. If you are not a fan of durian they also have green tea flavor, plum, chocolate and one other flavor. They let you sample before you buy. They have a unique truffle one but since US does not allow meat, I could not buy that one to bring home. We ended up buying two boxes of the traditional ones. The red boxes were very pretty. Good for gifts! I bought one durian snowskin moon cake to eat at the hotel. Snowskin moon cakes require freezer. Would definitely go back for more. Staff was very nice and let us sample as many aa we wanted.

Yelp
Considering that I walked about 20,000 steps today, I should have chosen a different location. I do like the Java+ for hot chocolate and iced mochas in the lobby. Our reservation was for a double room and another with a king bed, but at least the two King rooms are connected. The pool view is worth a visit. There are complimentary copies of the New York Times across from the elevators.

Yelp
Review of the Pool Grill restaurant. Better to go for dinner, unless you don't mind a lunch clientèle of almost exclusively tai-tai's babbling away, or the sight of half-naked western expats or obese Asians bronzing by the pool. For who would be willing to fork out $70 to $150 for a non-gourmet lunch in an open air room, but people with lots of dough and leisure time? Otherwise, the food is very good (the signature lamb loin is delicious), and service is excellent by a small team of friendly and efficient wait staff.

Stamone R.

Yelp
Excellent location, service, food, beds, lounge, pool, service, wifi, spa, bathroom, service and I loved the service. The executive lounge is great and there's free booze! Everyone who works in that lounge is too nice and helpful, I will miss them. The gym is wicked small, but you can get some things done in there. I got a massage that was pretty good and the whole spa area is super clean and nice. The entire building is clean and pretty. The pool and grill next to it were sexy. My only real complaint is the elevators. They need four more. Thanks for having me Marriott.

Cathy M.

Yelp
I had a really horrible time checking in, first of all I specifically contacted the manager through email that I needed 2 beds. Instead, they got me a king sized bed and when I called them, they said they were gonna "check if they have another executive room with 2 beds" and I told them I already booked it so they shouldn't just CHECK, they should put me in the right room. I called them 3x every 5 minutes to check if they have my room ready, and every time I called, the concierge was getting pretty annoyed and hung up on me lol took them 15 minutes to finally transfer me and I was late for my meeting. I was super pissed that day. Other than that, the next day was good. I still had access to the executive lounge with 3 other business partners, got some tea and coffee, and the staff were all very friendly. Buffet was ok, they don't have a whole lot of selection, but the staff really made my day.

K C.

Yelp
This was one of the best hotel stays I've ever had. The main reason for the 5 stars is the bed was incredibly comfortable and the staff. Everything was very clean and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The location of this hotel is very convenient. It's in the heart of the shopping district with countless dining choices including very affordable and food courts - 5 minute walk to most and the hotel sits above the Orchard St subway - MRT- stop. The only negative about the hotel is the prices for dining. Breakfast was $32 and a coffee from the espresso bar was $9, so we ventured out for all of our meals.

Yelp
This is a great hotel in the heart of the most popular shopping district in Singapore called Orchard Road. Visited on business and was excited to see the city. Hotel staff amazingly friendly. Rooms were large and amenities were top notch. Several restaurants on site including Cantonese, continental style and a one star Michelin Japanese sushi house. Also available is a coffee bar along with pastry desserts to tantalize your sweet tooth. The daily breakfast buffet in the continental restaurant was over the top with choices from numerous cuisines and cultures. I enjoyed fresh omelettes, dim sum, fresh sliced pancetta and lox, fresh squeezed juices, baked goods, and although I didn't try it you can get ice cream for breakfast. Concierge and taxi support great. Finally there is a bar on the first floor behind a hidden door. Cocktails of all kinds with some unique decor and speakeasy type vibe. If you want to find it ask the front desk. Or you can listen to the piano player in the lobby.

Yelp
Overall, I had a great stay at this Marriott. We checked into the hotel after our 4 hour flight from Hong Kong, so we were pretty tired. They gave us a refreshing cool drink while we waited a few minutes to check in, and were given an upgrade to a view room on the 24th floor. The room itself was pretty spacious and modern, with a rain shower in the bathroom. At first, we were looking for some power outlet adapters to charge our electric equipment, but after being reassured by the front desk, we just plugged our cell phones and tablets into the dual current outlets and we were fine (we used my wife's phone to test this, of course, and not mine). They always say location, location, location, and this Marriott definitely has it. It is located right on Orchard Road, with all its malls and stores, and it is right on top of the Orchard MRT station so that it is a really convenient base for your Singapore exploration. The only negative would have been the false fire alarms late at night on the last two nights that we were there. Otherwise, I would have rated my experience here even higher.

Yelp
Excellent customer service from Concierge to Marriott Cafe staff. They are conscientious of our needs and anticipates our wishes with clean and fresh options. Come enjoy Singapore with Marriott Tang Plaza.

Yelp
Great hotel to stay while you are in Singapore. Has great lobby that has an outdoor restaurant open until late (For guest coming late don't have to worry about where to eat, they have a great food). specious and luxury standard room and excellent service. The hotel is located on Scott and Orchard road (which is center of shopping centers in Singapore)close to MRT entrance (which very convenience to explore or to go anywhere in Singapore) They only thing missing is the convenience of handy phone ( like a cell phone, that you can use while you staying at the hotel that has information about the city, where to go and allow to make a call home free to certain country) like Mandarin hotel has.

Yelp
Outstanding in every way from the stunning entrance e to the professional staff never a worry staying here. Food is excellent and street pub gives a splendid view of Singapore's shopping district. Short cab rides to the waterfront, gardens and airport it has all even the most discerning traveler could wish for.

Yelp
Ok.. forget it. Food is very far from what you could expect. The place is very nice and service is good. But the buffet is far under competition round this place.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. The location is stellar. The staff on point, and the executive lounge people are extremely nice. OK so this is Singapore and nothing here is a bargain. They were able to give me a small upgrade as a platinum member which was appreciated. The room didn't knock my socks off, But it worked and was acceptable for our needs. What really set this place apart with the exceptional service and people-it was among the best I have experienced at a Marriott in all my travels.

Yelp
Note: My rating might be biased. As a platinum member, I have had a great experience here. Staff members were really nice and even offered a room upgrade as well as a late check-out (3pm). My room was nice and really spacious compared to other Singapore hotels. Also, it's conveniently located right next to Tangs on Orchard near my favorite soba place so couldn't ask for better. Just wished that it's not as crowded and there are more movie channels on tv.

Yelp
Awesome service by the staff in Marriot's, and particularly the Marriot's staff at the Marriot's Café. Very personal staff, that adds the special touch to make you feel very special, to start your day off on a perfect note. From Wayson Lai welcoming us on our 1st day, 2 days before 2015 Chinese New Year, getting us a good table for viewing the Singapore crowds at the Orchard/Scotts Road junction. To Pinaki, going the extra miles and making sure we get our craved durian tarts, every morning. To David, serving us tall fresh fruit juices, every morning. And then coming back again, and again, to get us more tall fresh fruit juices. To JoJo, making our daily soft-boiled eggs to perfection. And the many others, and the Executive Lounge staff, that served us our daily Cocktails/Cappuccino/Latte/Hors D'oeuvres/Desserts. Good food, and great personal service to go with it. Thanks, Marriot's Singapore! PS: The newly 2012 refurbished Marriot's gives everything a fresh new feel look and feel.

Yelp
This Marriot exceeds all expectations- first the location at the center of Orchard Road is outstanding - second the most attentive staff in the Marriot family - and one of the best executive lounges as well - various restaurants go beyond the norm - and the pool grill is a hidden gem - only room for improvement is updating some of the rooms and public areas - kudos to the management team !

Yelp
Had my Chinese New Year Lunch at the Marriot's Cafe in this hotel . It wasn't a cheap meal, $70 per pax, so expectation was high. My friend selected this place as he thought it was a better one in the city area. We had 2 and a half hours to enjoy the buffet and the ambience was fine. Chatting with my friends was not an issue. First thing I did was to check out the buffet. Sadly, drinks was not including the price, you have to order them separately. For draught beer - around S$17 per glass, forgot to ask for the price of the soft drinks. There was a mixed of Asian and Western food , pretty limited though. What caught my eye is the Japanese food selection of Sushi and Sashimi (Salmon and Tuna) and I knew I have to start off with that. Gosh! When I tasted the sushi, I was bemused with the rice - it was a shocker really. For a hotel standard, it was abysmal! It was one of the worst Japanese rice I tasted for a quite a while, AVOID this at all COST! The meat wasn't very fresh so the overall experience was disappointing. As for the Sashimi, it wasn't half as bad, but I tasted fresher ones elsewhere. I had only the oyster from the selection of fresh seafood and it wasn't that fresh. The warmed food I had (Roasted Beef, Fish, Chicken and Vegetable) was not fantastic either. For the price I paid, I could get better meals at half the price or even lesser. The only bright side of the buffet was the dessert, it was certainly a consolation. I ate more dessert than the hot food - that sums up my experience really! Service wasn't impressive. When it was around 2.30pm (Time for High-Tea), a few stares from the waiters and waitress were seen, hinting us to move on. That's shouldn't be the way! My overall experience was a disappointing one especially for the price we paid.

Yelp
5 Stars for people watching at cafe downstairs, I'm sure rest of hotel great. But the cafe service is awful, repeatedly have to ask for things. They don't clear table of empty plates. Just like hawker center at 10 x the cost. Staff doesn't seem happy to be there. Calamari belongs on a fishhook not on a plate.

Yelp
There are a plethora of mooncake stores around Singapore. These joints get pretty full especially during Chinese New Year or the Mooncake Festival, which was when I was in the area. Mooncake being part of traditional Chinese dessert culture is a pastry with a dough molded into signature circular shapes with intricate designs cast onto the exterior, is filled with sweetened mung bean and often have the variant with the additional salted egg yolk. In the Marriott at SG, I was able to try SNOWSKIN MOONCAKES for the first time and they took me to the moon and back. A thin mochi skin encases the ice cream filling so these guys are meant to be frozen. Bought a box filled with six different flavors to share with friends and they were mind blowing! Super scrumptious dessert to cool you down on a hot day if the traditional mooncake isnt your style. Staff were also really friendly and had giant smiles on their face. Always think back to this whenever I think of SG or mooncakes.

Yelp
This time we stayed two nights at 30 floor. Positive facts: Good location Very good lounge Good room except bathroom Nice staff Fantastic breakfast even though the cheese still sweats. Negative facts: Bathrooms. No ventilation and very low water pressure. The sink is somewhat clogged and there is a sewage stank from the drains. The light in the bathroom is bad. The bed side tables lights are difficult to control. The following was my review in 2017: Stayed as a priority member one night on 19th floor and it was a good stay. Impressive breakfast buffet Improvements possible: - Get some non slip bath math for the shower. - Learn how fry eggs at the egg station. - Do something about the cheese. Cold table?

Yelp
I liked this hotel, stayed there two nights, all was good. Clean, excellent service, great food, amazing view and perfect location. I used my Marriott points, so I don't know how much it cost.

Yelp
The tower for this hotel can be confusing for a jet lagged traveler who isn't expecting...well, a pagoda. While staying here, I was pleasantly welcomed with a clean room, good shower, and even a little red tiger on the bed...which my kid quickly tore apart. I would highly recommend this location as it's right in the middle of the Orchard Road district and is a short cab ride to most of the hot spots on the island!

Yelp
Always one of my favorite Marriott's in the world since they treat their customers with respect and will go out of their way to address your needs and concerns. As a platinum member they allow you access to their lounge which is always a nice perk since they serve breakfast, drinks and hor d'oeuvres in the evening and desserts to end the night. Unlike the Marriotts in the US everything in the lounge is complimentary including the alcohol. For breakfast I do however skip the lounge and have breakfast in their cafe since the selection is probably 10x better in the lobby. They have fresh juices and smoothies and a number of American breakfast options in addition to local Singapore and Malaysian entrees. The hotel itself is very clean and the staff are always friendly. I go to Singapore a lot for work and this was my go to hotel since it is centrally located near all the shopping on Orchard road and is a few steps to the Orchard Road train station. It's definitely on the pricey side for hotels but if you can afford it this is the place to stay in Singapore.

Yelp
This is a phenomenally good hotel. It is possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed at and I have stayed at many hotels. The service is outstanding - they really went out of their way to make me feel at ease. Among the many nice things they did during my stay: I had a red eye flight and, after I had already checked out (they gave me late checkout), they invited me to use the gym changing room to shower and/or change before it. Really amazing staff that genuinely want to make guests happy. I have no idea where they find such good people. The decor is great. Really beautifully designed. Good gym. The rooms are spacious, the mattress is a high quality one, and the bathroom area even has a little vanity where you can sit down to put on your makeup. The location is wonderful. You can walk to the Botanic Gardens (a must see in Singapore). It is across the street from the best shopping mall in Singapore (ION Orchard). The food at the restaurants is excellent and, for Singapore, fairly reasonably priced. One thing: bottled at the restaurant ridiculously expensive. Make sure to make it clear that you want tap water (it is completely safe and decent tasting in Singapore) otherwise they might bring you bottled water and charge you more.

Yelp
Third time here, last 4 years ago. The dining area has been redone, but the lavish breakfast buffet of local and western delights has been reduced substantially. While selection has been greatly reduced, the quality of the remains seems good. The gym now new and nice is a delight. The well appointed locker rooms include shower, steam, sauna and whirlpool. Rooms nice and clean, location central. Most disappointing of all, the over extended executive lounge and the late night bar. The lounge last visit was intimate, and we enjoyed the pour your own drinks. This time it was a veritable Showney's and getting a server to get you a drink impossible. The food, well back to the Showney's comparison. Yet worse was the late night bar behind reception. On my previous stay, 4 years ago, I popped in here for a quite night cap on way to the room. Last night the live entertainment made it nearly impossible to do the same. What did make it impossible were the countless call girls trolling the floors. After rebuffing two who refused to leave my table I got the check and made for the room. ALONE. Mr Marriott would need a double sparkling cider if he knew this So basically no place here for a quiet last drink unless you go the the Hyatt. They have a nice bar called 10 Scotts Square, 1/2 price wine until 10PM.

Yelp
Summary based on many stays: --great location for tourists --some of the rooms can be a bit odd shaped, reflecting the circular nature of the hotel --hotel restaurant and breakfast better than average

Yelp
I've stayed in Marriott properties all over the world and I find the Singapore Marriott to be very good. That is one reason that I seek out Marriott properties; they can be found in most large cities around the world and the quality is consistent. The room was fine. Nothing spectacular although it was a bit small. The rain shower was excellent and just what my jet-lagged body needed each morning to wake up for work. The club lounge is good, although be warned it is very crowded in the 0700 to 0830 timeframe. The ladies working there are very helpful and accommodating. I was quite surprised to spend ~$10 for an iced tea at the coffee bar in the lobby. I know Singapore is pricey but wow... I'll stay here again as I always do when on Singapore on business.

Yelp
I've always liked the Marriott family of hotels, and this is one of the greatest here. Excellent amenities and location to do the touristy things in Singapore too.

Yelp
Checked in after a long overseas trip and no welcome as such for elite guests (I am Platinum and my wife is Gold). We were assigned a cubbyhole which was claustrophobic and unacceptable. I asked to speak to the duty manager who was unavailable to speak on the phone. The front desk only responded after I said I was checking into another hotel. They gave us a junior suite with twin beds!! Mr. Marriott - this hotel does an extreme disservice to the Marriott brand. I would not recommend this hotel to my colleagues and business associates unless some radical improvements are made.

Yelp
One of the better Marriotts I've stayed at. Positives: -Very modern -Clean -Concierge lounge is outstanding, has great variety, and is extremely accommodating -Staff is very friendly -Great location with excellent proximity to Orchard and all of the shopping Small Negatives: -Reception desk is painful. There were only 3 people checking in with 2 staff members and it took almost 20 minutes. -The elevators are ridiculously slow. If you have to be anywhere or are in and out it can be cumbersome. Positives far outweigh the minor negatives and I would recommend. Overall definitely worth the stay and a good value.
