Singapore River Cruise

The Singapore River Cruise is a really enjoyable way to experience the city, especially if you want a break from walking while still sightseeing. The boats are clean and comfortable, and the journey is smooth as you glide past some of Singapore’s most interesting areas — Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and on towards Marina Bay. Seeing the contrast between the historic shophouses along the river and the modern skyline beyond is a great way to understand how the city has evolved. We did the cruise in the late afternoon, which was perfect. The light was soft, the breeze was welcome, and as we returned the city lights were just starting to come on. It felt calm and surprisingly peaceful despite being in the heart of Singapore. It’s not a long cruise, but it’s just the right length to relax, take photos and enjoy the commentary about the history of the river. If you’re visiting Singapore for the first time, this is a lovely introduction to the city — and even if you’ve been before, it’s still a very pleasant way to spend an hour.

I highly recommend the Singapore River Cruise. The ticket price is only 28 SGD, which is very good value for money. You get to see the city from a different view, and it is very relaxing. My best advice is to visit at night time. During the day it can be hot, but at night the weather is nice and cool. Also, the city lights are stunning. Seeing Marina Bay Sands and the city skyline lit up in the dark is beautiful. It was the highlight of my trip.

Excellent trip, we did the NYE fireworks boat ride and it was amazing, well worth the money. A 60 minute boat trip and we moored up in Marina Bay with an excellent prime view of the fireworks. Booking the trip only available from November, emailed company initially they were really helpful and booked via a 3rd party site. All worked well, thoroughly recommend great boat and good view for all passengers.

Bought a walk up ticket from the Clarke Quay jetty for this 45 min bumboat cruise down to Marina Bay and back. Informative commentary from our guide who was quite a showman and character often grabbing phones for mirror image photos of scenery and couples. He certainly had a few stories to tell. The boats themselves are electric and quietly ply the river. A nice gentle way to float down the river and learn about the city.

Nice way to explore Singapore by sitting in the electric boat. Just watch and look around. Listen to the commentary about the buildings and landscapes. One can enjoy the city of Singapore. The ride is enjoyable and memorable.

We first heard about the river cruise while watching Somebody Feed Phil when he came to Singapore. It looked very touristy but as we were tourists, we felt entitled to try it It proved hard to get exact departure times online, so we just turned up and managed to jump on a boat which was just about to depart It was nice to sail down some historic areas of Singapore’s history before getting to the more modern sights of Marina Bay Sands Then, it got a little weird. The guide from the boat was very strict and you were only allowed to stand up and take photos if he allowed you. Fortunately, he liked us because he asked us to get up for a photo that he insisted on taking and posed us into having a kiss for one of the photos A fun way to see Singapore from a different angle
