"A historic riverside area that also serves as an outdoor sculpture route, featuring works like First Generation which provide evocative glimpses into local life in years past and contribute to the area's cultural storytelling." - Sanjay Surana

Whichever way you view the river either by boat or walked the banks you can’t fail to notice how central it is to Singapore’s appeal and charm. So many places to eat and drink, to shop or to just sit and chill if that’s possible in the humid climate. We just loved being by the river either by day or by night.

🌆 Evening Walk at Singapore River Even though it was already past 7 PM, my wife decided to go out for a casual walk along the Singapore River. It turned out to be such a nice experience peaceful, relaxing, and the view of the river at night was absolutely amazing. 🌃✨

One of the most relaxing areas you can visit while in Singapore in the evening, have a drink at one of the many bars on the waterfront. When all of the skyline is lit up at night, it's magical with the reflections on the water...definitely a place to be on the Promenade.

This river is more clean than I thought. Just visited here for a history learning journey with my class and it was amazing. It was very interesting learning about the history behind this river and it's almost unbelievable that just a few decades ago, this river was unimaginably filthy. Really nice experience here.

On our 3 days trip to Singapore this time, we never wasted a chance to walk around this river, right from Four points by Sheraton to Durian building in broad day light and colorful nights. The river is amazingly clean & tidy, surrounded by cafes, restaurants, sky scrappers, clark quay, bungee jumping, boat rides etc. Plenty of options to spend your time. Don’t miss it

Clean and beautiful, this is one of my favourite pathways for a long walk on this island. The views of the skyline, modern and colonial architecture, myriad of bridges, nature, relaxing riverside dining, and energetic club scene line this route, making it an experience just by encountering such a variety of sights and sounds. The section facing the iconic Singapore skyline is a popular photo-op location - one of the best views is from the curved steps outside the esplanade, where one gets a full panoramic view of Marina Bay Sands to the city skyline, Fullerton hotel, and the Merlion in the distance. Whether it’s day or night, it’s a feast for the eyes either way. Prepare some shades or an umbrella in hand in case it’s a hot sunny day, or forecast to rain, to have your journey unobstructed. PSA: mind your surroundings where the pathways get narrower as it is shared for walking, running, and cycling. To be safe, it’s best to keep on the left of the walkway in either direction.
