Clean and beautiful, this is one of my favourite pathways for a long walk on this island. The views of the skyline, modern and colonial architecture, myriad of bridges, nature, relaxing riverside dining, and energetic club scene line this route, making it an experience just by encountering such a variety of sights and sounds.
The section facing the iconic Singapore skyline is a popular photo-op location - one of the best views is from the curved steps outside the esplanade, where one gets a full panoramic view of Marina Bay Sands to the city skyline, Fullerton hotel, and the Merlion in the distance. Whether it’s day or night, it’s a feast for the eyes either way. Prepare some shades or an umbrella in hand in case it’s a hot sunny day, or forecast to rain, to have your journey unobstructed.
PSA: mind your surroundings where the pathways get narrower as it is shared for walking, running, and cycling. To be safe, it’s best to keep on the left of the walkway in either direction.
