"Singer House is a building located at the intersection of Nevsky Prospekt and the Griboyedov Canal, directly opposite the Kazan Cathedral. It is called Singer house because the building was designed for the Russian branch of the Singer Sewing Machine Company initially, but house changed several owners after that. Is is also known as House of Books – the most famous bookstore in Saint Petersburg nowadays. On the second floor there is a Café Singer - a small cozy place with a beautiful view of the Nevsky Prospekt. The perfect plan is to book a table near the window for the evening time, to come and walk around the store and after that go to the café. On the upper floors of Singer House the office of Russia's largest social network VKontakte is located, but, unfortunately, there is no opportunity to get there." - Infographicsmag

If you have been to this city and want to eat and drink your coffee with a magnificent view, do not return without stopping by here. I haven't seen anything similar to the souvenir section downstairs anywhere else in the city. I'm sure you'll find a lot of beautiful pieces inside, don't miss it

I am so glad the Singer house opened again after being renovated. Hot chocolate with whipped cream and rasberryes 😋, or plain natural hot chocolate without sugar👍. Yummy, yammy. It's one of the best beef tartar, the French way with fries, salad, and parmesan cheese. Not cheap, but the view, service, and quality of food are worth it. I will definitely try the French onion soup next time. The smell was unbelievable (and i love that soup). 😋👌

View is good. Food is moderate. Staff is welcoming to a certain level not as bad as many of the comments I heard from before. But probably we came in the early morning and not too many people yet. Better to be early because they do not accept reservations through phone.

We were lucky to get a table immediately. Nice food and coffee, unfortunately Napoleon cake is not the same as in the past. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the view to the Kazan cathedral

The blini (crepe) were thin and tasteful, the staff was friendly with fluent English, and the view on the Kazan church is beautiful. I had the pungent horseradish cold tea (served in a shoot glass) which is a memorable experience. The coffee shop is located on the second floor of a book store which offers souvenirs and memorabilia. The store was packed with shoppers, adding to the positive energy of the place.

Old established Cafe in the famous building where the US embassy was briefly located during World War I. A true cultural landmark in the heart of St. Petersburg. The Cafe provides a nice few. I had the Sachertorte which was not much as the authentic one. I did not enjoy it. However the Latte is nice. The hot chocolate is very rich in taste. It has an almost pudding like consistency. The location is great, there was even a newly we couple for their wedding pictures.

if you’re tourist, a must for one of your breakfasts. if you aren’t - still ;) pre-book for window seats (well worth it cause the view‘s amazing). order fare with Russian touch 👌or ask service for recommendations - they know their menu

Just a wonderful place so historical, atmorpheric, just to sit and have coffee and cake with a view internal and out where the trams were passing along Nevsky Prospekt and most of all I got four copies of Pushkins Fairy Tales for my grandchildren with a request and hope that one day they might sit in the same place mindful of the day I boutght this famous Russian book. A magic moment of travel.
