This is my second trip to Grumeti reserve but my first time staying in the mobile tented camp at Lions Rock. The panoramic view that opens up in front of you every morning you wake up to have breakfast is simply breathtaking. On our second day, a mixed herd of zebras and wildebeests came to graze in the open plains in front of the camp, as if putting on a show for us. ||||I cannot emphasize how impressed I was with the quality of food served at this camp. I have eaten at other lodges in the Grumeti reserve on my last trip three years ago, so I knew food would be good, but at the mobile camp virtually everything is cooked on a BBQ, yet there are surprises at every meal. They even baked special muffins for our horses, which looked good enough for people to eat!||||Service is very personal and the staff always knew when to appear and when to leave you alone. At night there are guards to escort you from dining tent back to your own tent (with ensuite bathroom complete with flushing toilet), and although there are no telephone lines there is a whistle in the tent to blow on in case of emergency. ||||My friend and I felt very safe and protected the entire time, even when we can hear the lions outside at night not too far from the tent. ||||If you love nature, you'll love this location in the Grumeti reserve.
