We did not buy tickets as to visit the main church and the gardens is free. We really enjoyed wandering around the fruit garden in the Abbey. They had a vineyard, apple trees, pear, trees, a Quincy tree, and figs. They are available to the public to pick, eat and enjoy. A really unique experience

Built 700 A.D. another beautiful church in Ghent with artwork dating back to the late 1500's.

There is a small cafe in there. Once you are done having a wander, visit the cafe. The most beautiful girl in Ghent works there. You are welcome

It's so disappointing, there's a wedding, and I can't enter the outdoor heritage area, I ask how long would the ceremony last so I can come back, the staff just kicked me off (it just a background of the ceremony site, which is a public area, and I won't be in any photos it is roughly 40-50metres away as there're some ruined pillars and walls). I paid for the ticket but I don't a chance to visit the historic part, simply they're exclusive for private use.

Excellent church and monastery, well worth the detour

Interesting 18th century abbey buildings close to the centre of town, with a nice garden free to enter. We saw a photography exhibition.

Beautiful abbey! I used to study in one of the halls of the abbey when I was finishing my degree at the University of Ghent. Today I went back there and visited an exhibition on the life in the countryside of Belgium (and north of France). Great exhibit and wonderful to be back in such a historical building. The courtyard is exactly how I remember it, making you feel like you are in a medieval movie.

The location of the building is quite beautiful. There is a canal right next to it. It is a very interesting building with its history. There is also a museum inside.
