While located slightly into an alley on the back of the block, the kind-of stern bouncer dude informs you of the R50/pax cover charge before granting entry. We almost walked past him and would not have known Sin+Tax was there had we not stopped to ask.
Dude could have been friendlier and more welcoming, especially in a dim alley. Anyway, once past that, one would be greeted with amazing service from the staff inside. There was a live jazz band playing great tunes.
The cocktails were a bit of hit and miss in my opinion. The old fashioned was amazing (and definitely packs a punch) but my second drink Pillow Talk doesn’t seem to bring the combination of various amazing-sounding ingredients together. They do serve beer and wine as well so all is good.
The food, though, deserves a shoutout. The bang bang cauliflowers were so delicious I almost wanted to order a second serving. The KFC was pretty decent, with a spicy kick. And the martini aioli added a unique touch to the hand cut chips (fries). Overall love their experimentation on food.
Great vibes as well and deserves a five star for all in experience, dinner and a nice evening out.
