Sip Coffee & Cocktails

I got a brown sugar shaken espresso and the rosemary bagel with cream cheese. Didn’t love my latte so much but would try another drink. I did really like the bagel though. Been driving by the place for yrs and finally tried it after going to the library.

Been wanting to stop here for awhile and so glad we did. I had a chai latte which was delicious and my husband had a cocktail which he enjoyed immensely. The amount of detail the bartender put into making the drinks was top notched! Will definitely come back. I love that it’s a place for everyone…coffee, beer, wine and cocktails.

I’ve been itching to visit this place since I first saw the sign pop up on the front of their building a few months ago! I stopped by the second day they were open and was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere and quality of coffee! I’m a true coffee lover and I typically just get a straight up latte with no flavors or frills—this allows me to hone in and really focus on the taste of the espresso & I can gladly say that Sip’s espresso is great! This little cafe has ample seating if you’re looking to “post up” to get some work done. It is super cute and has an amazingly local feel. A bonus for me is that this place lies right along my daily work commute so they’ll all definitely be seeing me on a regular basis!

We’ve visited for coffee and dinner now! The cocktails are okay but expensive, the coffee is pretty good, and the food is AWESOME. I ordered the Oatmeal Latte and loved it! For dinner, we got the Bees Knees, the Pineapple Orange Cream (don’t order, too bitter), the French 75, and a glass of Chardonnay to drink. They’re about $15/drink which is a little much but bearable. For food we got the spicy feta dip and the barbecue chicken flatbread. Both dishes were amazing!! Very good. Between the two dishes for two people we walked away very full, so good portion sizes. Other tidbits to add: it feel like their cocktails could be refined a bit as many feel modified to be *quirky*, the plates and serving materials are so cool and high quality, and the aesthetic of the whole place is very charming! The staff is wonderful and friendly! I will love to see how this place improves in the future!

This was my second time in today. The staff is friendly and helpful. The drink looked good and tasted even better! Lowkey vibes and reasonably priced.

Amazing coffee drinks and now they serve incredible cocktails too! The vibe in here is truly unmatched, it’s a great place to get some work done in the morning or meet for cocktails in the evening, AND the baristas have the best energy. Sip is hands down my new favorite cocktail and coffee spot in Grand Rapids :)

Went here a couple of weeks ago. Alger Heights is an adorable neighborhood. The place is quaint and clean. The theme on that Friday mornings, and I'm assuming most Friday mornings, was families; lots of strollers and happy people drinking coffee. I had the oatmeal latte and an orange scone. The drink was not overly sweet and the scone was crumbly...in a good way. Both ladies were friendly. Haven't been in the evening since I no longer drink but I imagine the vibe is outstanding.

I've been to Sip a few times, and it's a really chill spot for hangouts and meetings with friends. They have a nice bar seating area that looks out onto Eastern, which is really nice. On my most recent visit, I had the Apple Sage mocktail, and holy cow it was delicious! I'll definitely be back to try it again!

I was just whelmed by Sip. I was hoping for great things with how adorable their outside is (love the painted flowers on the building) and spacious patio that is dog friendly. The indoors is cute as well with plants galore, art by a local artists, and they even have a little children's book section. The menu was a little smaller than I expected and a lot of items were crossed out as being out of stock since no one stocked over night (waitress said they didn't inform her before opening). So most cocktails, which there were like 5 options (a little low in my opinion for a place called sip coffee and cocktails), were missing an ingredient or two. The drinks were fine. Nothing that really said 'wow, come try this again' but it wasn't bad. Just whelmed. Maybe the coffee is better. I do applaud the waitress though as she was the only one working with a long line. Fortunately for her, as the line winded down a second employee arrived to help. Parking is located in a lot in back.

Sip Coffee and Cocktails is located in Alger Heights'. It's a new coffee shop and cocktail spot! Serving coffee, cocktails, and spirit-free cocktails to quench everyone's thirst. They offer local baked goods and bagels and in the evening there are warm flatbreads and dips to share with friends. Today we woke up after the blizzard and headed out to Sip coffee and cocktails to watch the world and enjoy life. What a clean, friendly atmosphere to enjoy time. We had a few different drink options and selected multiple drinks: house bloody Mary!, espresso martini, and B&G old fashioned. The cinnamon in the B&g was a very nice touch. The cherries are house made and out of this world. We also grabbed a couple of sandwiches that did NOT disappoint. That avocado bacon pickled onion on a cheese bagel combination is straight fire. The sausage egg with everything bagel is a solid choice. All ingredients are fresh and so many are house made. Great atmosphere to spend some time. Stop by and enjoy! You won't be disappointed.

Located in Alger Heights, Sip Coffee and Cocktails is now open and serving drinks and small plates. Nate and I stopped in after a quick dinner across the street at Don Beto's. The space is cozy and we snagged one of the last two-top tables. The vibe was relaxed and dimly lit. Our server Elaine was so kind and conversational. I was happy to see they have some spirit-free drink options, so I got the blueberry paloma and Nate got the strawberry hibiscus. While our drinks were being made, I had fun looking at all the art in the space. There is a pretty large patio out front that will be great for warmer months! Our drinks were really good - I liked that they weren't too sweet, with great flavors. The blueberry paloma made with spirit-free tequila was refreshing and bubbly. I'd definitely order this again. I don't make it to this area that frequently, but I'd love to stop in again and try some more spirit-free drinks or a coffee.

I've been to Sip twice now and both times my experience has been wonderful! The service is top tier, each server I've had has been so kind and patient and helpful. I haven't got food here yet, but the drinks are really good! I'd say they're priced a little bit on the high end, but nothing crazy. This is a small space, very cozy but welcoming. Plenty of room to sit with a small or large group. I love the concept of coffee in the morning and apps/drinks in the evening. There's something for everyone!

Was really excited to spend our family coffee time morning here. And we loved the rosemary latte... But I bumped my rating down bc service was really slow despite how sparse it was at the time and I had nowhere to change my baby's diaper even with their spacious bathroom. Again, great coffee. Slow service. Not baby friendly. A changing table and high chairs would be a nice plus.

I love this place. It is one of my local haunts. The drink menu changes seasonally and the staff is amazing. It's quiet and calm during the day so great if you want to work and moody at night. Eliza and Brin are great workers and are so friendly/kind. I personally have yet to drink something I don't like. They also have some food like flatbreads which are yummy as well. 1 million/10

Absolutely delicious 12 oz. chai for a good price ($6). The lights were a bit too dim, but the ambiance was lovely. I'll be back!

I love this place! While I don't drink coffee, I often get it for my wife, and she has only positive things to say. The pastries are also great! There is not much space inside, especially when busy. But I'd highly recommend stopping by!

Service was great. Greeted in the door and given the special. Waiter was prompt and polite. Owner came over and chatted. Nice outdoor venue.

Sip is truly a gem! Great variety of drink options - friendly staff who seem joyful to be working there - and such a cool environment! It feels both fresh and cozy, with inspiration from city and neighborhood life. Grab coffee in the daytime and cocktails the evening, you can't go wrong here.

Such a wonderful place to have a coffee or drink! Love the atmosphere! Jonathan and Erik were so friendly and welcoming. This was our first time hanging out here, a very cool vibe, quiet and comfortable. We will definitely go back to try more drinks!

I'm really trying to like this place. But both times the service has been awful. Went first when it was fairly new so didn't want to be too harsh after a server forgot about us during the cocktail service. Gave it another go this month, but unfortunately ran into the exact same issue. The staff seems amazingly friendly and was apologetic after having us wait 20 minutes before even getting our order, but somehow it managed to get worse. A table behind us was served and cashed out in half the time we were there. We went intending for just a quick drink at night time when there were only a few other tables out, but it turned into an hour and a half endeavor. Tried to give the benefit of the doubt knowing that it seemed like they were short staffed and doing a lot of juggling. I was really hoping these kinks would be worked out by now. I'm giving 3 stars as I feel like it still has a lot going for it, but just really hoping service can get a bit more consistent.
