I love that places like this still exist! Such a cute old school luncheonette. Food and service was excellent. The Lime Rickey did not disappoint! Worth checking out if you’re in the area.

This ice cream parlor offers a delightful experience. They have a wide variety of flavor options, sure to satisfy any craving, all served in a charming old-fashioned soda parlor atmosphere. The service is excellent and fast. If you see the fresh peach ice cream, I highly recommend it – it's absolutely delicious!

Wow, that was not a good experience. The hashbrowns tasted like the oldest nastiest grease I’ve ever tasted in my life. It’s still lingering on my pallet. Service was also really terrible. I sat for at least 5 minutes trying to flag somebody down to get my check. It’s very expensive for the low quality ingredients they’re using.

Google
The only things that this place has going for it are the cute place and it's ice cream. We got the special Mediterranean salad which comes with a Mediterranean style dressing. And a root beer float. The salad was ok but nothing special. The root beer float tasted like it was a mix of coffee cola and root beer all mixed together which was just wrong. The ice cream however was actually very tasty and creamy.

Had breakfast here. The '68 breakfast sandwich on a roll is a 10/10, surpassing what you would get in the city. Reasonable prices, solid service. Cash only. If that sandwich were a woman it would look like Sydney Sweeney.

I worked across the street at Sea Reality before I owned Southampton Reality. I ate there with both girlfriends as the years past. Grill Cheese and the burgers and fries are real home made food that is worth the price. I cook at home with the same items. 📺🎙️🎥🎬

It was a treat to be able to take my kids to the same place I used to go to lunch as a kid! The atmosphere is unchanged in such a way to preserve its charm! Be sure to bring cash as it is a cash only restaurant. Don’t skip on the ice cream or the onion rings!

Stephanie Alegado

Google
If you love an old timey spot, this place is great! The space is charming, the staff is friendly, and the ice cream is delicious! Try the lemon custard ice cream if it is available. Heads up- it’s cash only.

Yelp
Friendly staff, consistently good food, service is prompt, very nice atmosphere Barbara

Yelp
Classic diner that every town needs! Went around 10:30am, tables filled but sat right away in a booth. Food & atmosphere was nice! lots of staff available (cooks & waitresses) but seemed to wait awhile for the check. lots of merch to purchase. would visit again! take into account when visiting: cash only, closes at 4:30pm!

Danielle G.

Yelp
Cute spot right off of Main St in Southampton! Although it is cash only, stopping in for ice cream is worth it. The staff were incredibly friendly and the atmosphere felt as if you had stepped back into the '70s.

Jessica W.

Yelp
Perfect casual lunch spot in the hamptons. Adorable diner vibes, food is always great. Milkshakes are incredible.

Matt G.

Yelp
Awesome little mom and pop diner that serves some very yummy, basic breakfast options. This is the place to go to when you just want some solid pancakes, eggs, or French toast. Nothing fancy but very good. Place isn't the biggest, its seat yourself style, and is cash only! The servers were very nice and helpful.

Tim K.

Yelp
A local landmark where are you can feel right at home with that classic diner feel. Four of us sat down for a nice, relaxing breakfast enjoying eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, toast, and fresh fruit. We were greeted kindly when we walked in, brought to our seats immediately, where we were quickly served our water and coffee. For a fine classic diner experience, this is the locals choice, and it should be yours as well.

James R.

Yelp
Good, very small coffee shop. I like the food, whether breakfast items, burgers, grilled cheese, etc. Not a big fan of their Lime Rickey's, but many people are! The staff are not always the best at managing the lines that can form.

Ava C.

Yelp
Came in to sit down. wasn't busy. maybe 3 tables sat by this time. waiter literally threw menus on the table in front of us. to add on, i lost my rings. i called again when i realized to ask if they had found them by chance, and got an immediate "no.sorry." definitely pocketed them. food was good but holy smokes. staff needs to brighten up. as a 17 year old who works in a restaurant, i could do better than that.

Sascha A.

Yelp
Classic East Coast diner - there is even a phone booth in back. Good food at reasonable prices in a place where the later is rare.

Bernard S.

Yelp
A great place to go for breakfast, lunch or dessert! Came in for a mid day treat and had an excellent ice cream soda. Nice, attentive staff. Worth a visit!

Veronika V.

Yelp
Old School diner/coffee shop hits the spot! Classic bacon, egg and cheese on a roll and a fresh hash brown that beats any fast food spot. Friendly staff, attentive service. Don't change (and hasn't in 66 years)!

Bill S.

Yelp
Nice little ice cream shop in Southampton. It's National Ice Cream day and my wife and I out dining in Bridgehampton. The waiter is telling us about their dessert with macerated strawberry reduction, wha?? Thanks but I want cookies and cream! Sip and Soda luncheonette is a Southampton gem, it's a place where you can bring your family without breaking the bank. It was nice to see tables outside for social distancing. There were a few diners inside as well as the bathroom was open (I had ice cream all over my fingers and needed to wash) Forget all that, the ice cream? Deelish! Besides the standard flavors, I ordered a two scoop cone with the bottom salted caramel and the top cookies and cream. I could have went wild with the other flavors, for now I'm satisfied with my choice. The owner-manager, such a nice man. The staff here is very friendly, our experience was pleasant and we'll return soon.

Yoshi W.

Yelp
First grade luncheonette, delicious hamburger, grilled cheese, eggs, etc. prices are extremely reasonable and fair for the Hamptons services always with a smile cash only

Mike S.

Yelp
Sip N' Soda is a great spot for a simple and classic meal. While the menu isn't anything earth shattering or mindblowing, they nail all of the classics. They make the best bacon cheeseburger in Southampton for sure, and you need to pair the meal either with a milkshake or an ice cream sundae afterwards. The breakfast is good too, and one of the only spots around where you can get a good diner-style breakfast. A very reliable and consistent option in Southampton.

Tracy K.

Yelp
Step back into the 1950s for lunch or breakfast at this retro Ice cream soda shop. Homemade ice cream and milkshakes are a good choice for quick stop while traveling. Friendly people. Small town seaside vibe. One size to go cups for milkshakes are smallish but good enough. Would be good to have large to go cups for traveling so might have to get two lol!!

Andrea S.

Yelp
I've been taking my kids to Sipn'Soda for many years. Always loved the food and atmosphere. I stopped there today after many years and found the atmosphere pretty much the same but the food was a huge disappointment. I ordered a BLT which tasted awful. How can you ruin a BLT? The server asked if I wanted mayo and I said yes but when it came it tasted odd as if they put mustard in with the mayo and there was maybe a half teaspoon on the bread so I had to Ask for more. The bacon was little chopped up pieces that kept falling out of the sandwich onto my plate. The tomatoes were cardboard tasting. Its July ...tomato season! Such a huge disappoint after those wonderful memories I had of years ago. It's one thing to raise the prices of food these days but please, don't cut corners on the quality and presentation.

Heather R.

Yelp
This was perfect luncheonette to find for mid afternoon take away food in lovely south Hampton We Decided to indulge in some typical breakfast/lunch foods such as an egg on a roll and my husband had a tuna fish on whole wheat toast with fries not to forget the Ice coffee lol. The food totally reminded me of a good diner food in my opinion one can never go wrong, hey I am a Nyc chick. Anyway the food was delish and the ice coffee were strong and bold giving me my kick. We took to the food back to the residence and enjoyed every bit of the meal. The Establishment was clean everybody following the COVID-19 protocols of wearing masks and Social distancing kudos to all.

William W.

Yelp
Cozy retro 50's diner, came for breakfast with my nephew which was a typical eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, toast. Food was great staff were pretty friendly but don't tend much to the tables. All in all it was a win inbetween fishing. Great prices but be aware it is a cash only establishment keeping up with the retro theme (minus the atm in the corner) definitely a spot worth checking out

Charlie M.

Yelp
Mark has continued to follow in his family's tradition to give Southampton a true and down to earth Ice cream parlor. Best breakfast, lunch and homemade ice cream in Southampton. The service is top shelf. One of the only establishments in the area that still has a working telephone both.

Jenn S.

Yelp
Love this spot! Learned that it is now run by the Grandson of the original owners who opened it in the 50's. Yes it's a pain in the butt that it's cash only but the prices are so darn low, it makes sense that it is cash only. Love that their ice cream is full fat and just sweet enough. Their lunch sandwiches are hearty made with the most basic ingredients but oh so filling and delicious. The steak sandwich was so tender it blew me away! Definitely go when it's off season, no wait and you'll have a much more pleasant relaxing experience.

Michael L.

Yelp
Found it by accident, old style luncheonette with simple menu. Nothing fancy, pancakes were huge and filling, the breakfast sandwich comes with a hash brown inside.... Omg!!! I want another already. Just bring cash, that's all the accept. Very friendly staff

Alan S.

Yelp
Best breakfast and lunch anywhere in the Hamptons served by the best servers. Great shakes and malteds, gotta try the lime Ricky. Definitely not upscale but neither am I. Leave the mink and jewels at home.

Sonia P.

Yelp
My review is only about the ice cream, because that's the only real experience I have with this shop. My husband and I were in the area on Saturday and I was wanting to eat some ice cream. I had originally planned to go to another location, but where we were staying told us about this place. I was told they make their own ice cream, so I wanted to try it out. My husband and I got a small with one scoop of vanilla and one scoop of Nutella. Both scoops were really good, and the ice cream was creamy and delicious. We felt like the price was also reasonable for what we got. We will probably stop by here again and try more when we're in the area!

Amanda K.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place been coming since I was a little girl. Down side prices are high for the type of food! But worth a try!

Kim H.

Yelp
This 50's style diner is our breakfast go to whenever we are in Southampton :) Lunch is just as delicious!! Prices are great!! Stop on in for a meal, you won't regret it!!

Cori M.

Yelp
Small town old school diner perfect for breakfast or lunch. super cute family owned cash only business.

John L.

Yelp
To be clear: to get 4 or more stars from me, the food has to be up to par... The food is good for what it is. It is freshly made, and tasty. It is very simple fare of burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches. I had a pleasant dining experience, although brusk inattentive service... I had the turkey burger, California style with onion rings: again good decent food, fairly priced. Nothing special... I had 2 issue: 1. I asked for a refill of ice tea; and the girl charged me for 2, and did not warn me. When I brought it to her attention, she scuffed it off, and left my bill unchanged. So service is lacking, and friendliness is lacking. 2. I asked for some mustard and they have me packets (dining in). I had to use like 5 or 6! Come on guys, a burger and hot dog joint that won't give you a bottle of mustard is pretty lame... Parking is okay, almost impossible on the street, but there is usually parking behind the restaurant, but in high season you might have to wait. It is a nice spot if you want to avoid the hoity-toity Southampton eateries on Main Street...

Romina R.

Yelp
Came for outdoor lunch and it was so good! The triple decker turkey BLT, chicken salad, fries, lemonade all super good. The service is so fast and friendly. I wasn't impressed by the ice cream though the flavors were kind of bland. I'd definitely come back for lunch or breakfast but wouldn't get ice cream again.

Ange C.

Yelp
Standard diner kind of place. No frills, decent prices! Only gripe is I wish I had more home :(. The servers are nice and it's busy! Try the lime Rickey- it seems like it's the jam.

Marc C.

Yelp
Very nice staff...reasonable prices...Mark the manager is a great guy....I recommend the tuna melt with fries...

Gigi A.

Yelp
Not great. There are much better places. Wish I picked another spot. It is a kind-of reasonably priced spot in the South Hampton. And, I guess the nostalgia appeals to some. But the food was just ok and the melon they served me had black specs of "something" on it. God knows. I sent it back.

David L.

Yelp
A reasonable fun place, could use a renovation but that being said good food and the best milk shakes on the East Coast.

David K.

Yelp
If you go and take it for what it is.. greasy spoon diner and a place to get really good ice cream this is a Southampton staple. Cash only! It's a piece of history wrapped up in a cozy atmosphere with a small amount of craziness thrown in. Good club sandwiches and great omelettes. Enjoy....

Fiona D.

Yelp
CASH ONLY PEOPLE!! I came here on a scorching hot summer day for an ice cream cone. I was excited to try out their ice cream because I've heard how everything here is home made! I chose the Peach ice cream on a cone ($5) and it did not disappoint! My only qualm was that it didn't really taste like peach nor smell like peach, I could not determine what it tastes like...just a creamy milky taste I guess. I love the fact that it was not overly sweet! Overall, it was a good dessert to cool you down on a hot day. I'd love to come back and try the other flavors that they have to offer!

Carly G.

Yelp
Such a cute place to stop for breakfast or lunch. The gyro was huge and filled with so much meat. The pancakes were fluffy and perfectly cooked. The prices were so affordable- will definitely return!!

Rachelle B.

Yelp
Owners are hard working, and care that the service is equally as great as your order...

Jennifer F.

Yelp
I like this place for what it is ---a soda stand w breakfast and lunch food. It is authentic counter food meaning things are served on bread not brioche, you get coleslaw or ff with your order, and coffee is served in a coffee cup not a mug. Hamburgers are paddies not 10 oz hand formed mounds. Their breakfasts are great but do not expect a fluffy french omelette made in a frying pan, this is a griddle place. Their home made ice cream is truly superb and they sell cartons to take home. They also know how to make all kinds of floats, shakes etc. you can sit at tables or on a round stool at tbe counter.

John S.

Yelp
Best breakfast in the Hamptons. I love to have a pancake or eggs plus fresh orange juice and coffee

Susie D.

Yelp
You can always rely on Sip n' Soda to be the best representative of exactly what it is - an old-fashioned hometown luncheonette. Really good food cooked to order plus homemade ice cream. Plus, and this is big, they have been an excellent training ground, teaching generations of local students how to work and interact politely and efficiently with the public. Yay, Sip n' Soda!

Ryan H.

Yelp
The best spot in town (and in the area). Our party of 4 drove here from Quogue and we're glad we did! Great food at a great price and.... MILKSHAKES!! (Yes, it's before noon). Anyways, we were seated right away around 10:30 on a Sunday morning in late September. Quick drink orders and food orders soon followed. Omelettes all around: great reviews from each. My coffee was stellar too: strong and refilled 20 seconds after I finished the first one. The home fries (potatoes) are a perfect complement to the meals. It was all so good, we had to get milkshakes. "So good" one friend exclaimed. "on point" I say. Thanks to the staff and chef for being awesome!! (cash only)

Mary L.

Yelp
Have not been in for a few years but went there on Friday night. We were looking for a phone, yup had no phone but they did, great old phone booth in the back. The whole place is a throwback. Teenage waitresses, adorable. They spotted a new young celebrity walking by and it was off to the races. Renewed my faith in the younger generation. Why you ask? I guess because they noticed him. Then they got on their cell phones. : ) Also there were kids hanging out there. We ordered Tuna Salad Sandwiches, fresh made Shrimp Salad, not canned. The Special was a Avocado B.L.T. and we also ordered Fries and Ice Teas and Ice Cream, which is made there and great! All that plus the floor show for under $60.00. The young Movie Star came in and ordered 2 Milkshakes to go. He had a girlfriend. It really was a great place to rediscover. Sweet little sweet shop.

Claudia C.

Yelp
This is a very nostalgic type ice cream shop/diner. We just came for the ice cream which was cash only and $5 for a small cone. I ordered the Oreo ice cream and it seemed to hit the spot, the Oreo pieces were large and the ice cream was very smooth and creamy. The scoops were also pretty generous which was nice. My main complaint though is the service. The girls behind the counter seemed more concerned with a boy working there than with the customers and we waited for quite some time when it really wasn't even busy. This wasn't a huge issue though, as we were sitting right at the counter and not in a hurry, it was just a little annoying

Stella B.

Yelp
Server was awful- we asked about a kids menu for a seven year-old and did not offer any options - had us order a la carte for a child which came to $20. 10 minutes later the table next to us had mickey moused shaped pancakes for their children and appropriately aged portions. When asked about it we were told it wasn't on the menu - no explanation. Had to ask for utensils, coffee refill, etc. etc. Will NOT be back. Not even a smile - would give 0 starts if possible.

Nessyy T.

Yelp
I was looking for brunch on Sunday but i missed this spot so i was there only for ice cream. They have brakfast from 7am to 12 pm. This restauarnt is a great local spot for breakfast, brunch, and dessert. It is an oldschool style. I really like it.

Raul R.

Yelp
So, we're back for our 4th annual weekend trip to SH. Remember folks this is an ice cream place. Come for the old-fashioned style ambiance and the ice cream. The food is fine, not great and the service was good from high schoolers that were upbeat and friendly. I had the Western Omelette with toast and some home fries. It was an average to small portion for $7.25. Nothing exciting or yummy about it, but it was fine. Check out the pix. We were told from at least 4 different places as we left to "have a great day". Hmm Still taking that in. I'm hoping that its a good thing. We're still on the hunt for a good reasonably priced brunch in the Southampton area. I'm hoping its out there. See you next year.

George M.

Yelp
Walk into Sip N' Soda's threshold and be transported back in time to a bygone era. This 50s-esque landmark of the Southampton landscape serves up good 'ole American fare of Hamburgers (Hamburg, GE), Frankfurters (Frankfurt, GE) and French Fries (viva la France). But they also serve homemade ice cream and fountain soda drinks like egg creams, soda floats, milk shakes et al. Whenever I'm in town this is my un-brunch breakfast joint or my after the beach stop. You'll do fine ordering from the all too familiar menu on your own without any insight from me. However, if you find yourself at Sip N' Soda and you notice on that day that they are serving peach and blackberry ice cream, respectively, do yourself a gastronomical favor and order both. The only very annoying element of Sip for me is that this is a cash only joint.

Steve F.

Yelp
Amazing ice cream. Food was good, nothing earth shattering. Nice service in a cute old school atmosphere

Becky M.

Yelp
Everything in Southampton seems false to us but Sip n Soda is the real deal. We tried the house specialty Fresh Peach ice cream on a sugar cone and I had a Salted Caramel on wafer cone. It was delicious. We ate it at the counter in about five minutes. Next time we will try the house specialty the Lime Rickey! They make their own ice cream to secret family recipes and you can get pints / gallons to take home. We were just sad we couldn't get a gallon of the peach since it would have had to sit in the car while we went to our appointment and never would have made it. On the one hand, I'm sad we don't live closer but on the other hand, that would be dangerous!! Cash only.

E. H.

Yelp
Food was great, server was amazing. But I cannot justify leaving this place with a full-star review because a woman (who was not our server) took our check and the 45% tip meant for the waitress who served us. This woman only asked us if we needed change, then proceeded to take the check and money without saying a word, with only a disgusted look on her face. A nasty piece of work. I don't care if she was the owner; she was extremely rude and had us from happy customers to us leaving with bitter taste in our mouths, all in short of seconds. I wasn't even going to mention about the two short, black hairs found in my fries, but it's all out there now.
