As a local, I have visited the Botanical Garden many times and I am always impressed by its grandeur. The layout is perfect for a fully immersive experience, making it a great place to relax and take a moment. The variety of plants and trees is amazing, and the giant water lilies are definitely the stars of the garden. The giant climbing monsters also make their presence known on the trees. It is a garden worth seeing. Entry price: Local – Rs 25, Non-Resident – Rs 300. You can hire a guide on site for Rs 75 per person, which is worth it. Some spots have been a bit neglected, but it doesn’t really affect the experience. I wasn’t a fan of the deer pen, as the animals looked miserable. Leave a good 2 hours to complete the tour. Don’t forget mosquito spray, it can get serious there

Green, beautiful and peaceful. The park is generally very well looked after, although the ponds could be taken care of a bit better. It felt wonderful to be surrounded by so many different trees and plants. Take ALL the mosquito repellent!!!

The gardens were quite nice. There is an interesting range of plants and flowers, including the varieties of water lilies. However, the guides were difficult to arrange as they would only take large groups. We waited for some time but no guide would take us.

Best botanical garden I’ve ever been. There’s so much to see, the ticket price was reasonable. There were tour guides at the entrance, although we decided to go on our own. The map is quite straight-forward as all "roads" are labeled. Take your time, 2-3 hours should be enough.

SSR Botanical Garden is a calm and beautiful place to visit. The garden has many trees, flowers, and the famous giant water lilies. You can also see animals like deer, turtles, fish, and birds. It is a great place to walk, relax, and enjoy nature with family. A very peaceful and refreshing spot!

A garden well worth seeing. You should definitely take a guide. I've unfortunately forgotten the name of our guide, but he gave a great tour in German-English-French! We had a lot of fun!

Good place for a little 2 hour trip when you're in north Mauritius anyway. The park is big, but not huge and some areas could be kept a little better. Overall, it looks very nice and there's a lot of very impressive flora to see. We VERY much disliked the animal enclosures. The deer and tortoise very obviously were put in way to small areas and didn't enjoy their life. For us, the botanical garden would have sufficed without animal cruelty on display. For the price per person it's absolutely fine for a nice walk and to take some pictures.

Honestly, the garden was a disappointment. The place is not well maintained, and there is hardly anything to see despite how beautiful the photos look online or how well pictures come out. The entry fee feels like a waste of money, as the overall experience doesn’t match the expectations. Photos may look good, but in reality, there is nothing much there. Wouldn’t recommend it.
