My wife, daughter and I had breakfast at Sirkel Foods! while in town for the Shakespeare Festival. We weren't quite sure what to expect as there was only one other customer at 8:30 on a sunny Tuesday. We were told to sit wherever we would like, and after we looked at the great display of fresh baked muffins and pastries, we grabbed a seat and ordered coffee and juice. Coffee was average and the apple juice was brought in a bottle with a glass. While not extensive, the breakfast menu was diverse, offering numerous savory dishes and an intriguing French toast with apples and cheddar cheese. We ordered that dish, along with the traditional breakfast (two eggs, bacon, home fries and toasted homemade bread), and the "huevos" (Mexican themed egg dish with homemade salsa, sour cream, eggs, cheese, peppers, corn tortilla, and home fries).
In a word, the breakfast as a whole was "awesome." The French toast consisted of two thick slices of bread sandwiching thinly sliced spiced apples and melted cheddar cheese, served with syrup on the side. The "huevos" dish was the star, and the homemade salsa served on top was some of the best I've had outside of the Southwest U.S. I highly recommend this dish! The traditional breakfast was perfectly fine, but the "over-medium" eggs were the tiniest bit too done/tough, but this was off-set by the two "slices" of toast, which, when cut diagonally and stalked, we're about six inches high! (it looked like half a loaf of bread!) if you get the traditional breakfast, take the leftover toast with you, while it would make a great sandwich later in the day, you might take it to the pond to feed the swans.
Excellent breakfast spot, and I would love to try their lunch selection!
