Your dining experience begins the moment you enter the restaurant. The luxurious setting, inviting and playful decor sets the tone for a meal with friends. Fast forward to the culinary part. After a nine month hiatus from the Nantucket social scene, Sister Ship was first re-entry. I went twice in the last three weeks, and, on both occasions the meals were excellent, which we enjoyed family style. The star of the each meal for us was the steak! A generous portion, very tender, perfectly seasoned and can be easily shared among 3 people. This is the best 16oz Ribeye steak on Nantucket for under $80. Let's not forget the Big Eye Tuna Crudo another favorite of mine which I grudgingly shared. The blood orange delivers the precise amount of acidity to brighten the buttery taste of the rich tuna natural flavors. The seafood paella looked amazing, I didn't indulge because I do not eat pork. Chef Nathan & Sous Chef Brandon, you make an excellent team and the consistency is evident! Thank you for taking our palates on an adventure each time we dine at the Sister Ship.

Made a reservation for Saturday night during peak season. Very busy, but got seated right away on the back patio. Great ambiance, great vibes, and food was exceptional. The server was also very careful with my wife’s nut and shellfish allergy so was able to accommodate and have the kitchen adjust several dishes accordingly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a new-age Mediterranean vibe on Nantucket. Highly recommend the Big Eye Tuna which is an absolute must-have, even without the hazelnut oil. Our Sommelier (Sam) was very knowledgeable, was a pleasure to talk to and gave us the perfect pairings for our meal (not to mention dessert wine!).

Charming garden area and porch perfect for a romantic celebration! The cocktails were inventive and well balanced. Service was crisp. The menu choices were rather mundane. Pork Ragu was solid but unremarkable. Halibut was well composed and fish was a perfect sear. I’d Come here for drinks and ambience not so much dinner…

I am very happy that I was reminded of this amazing gem in the center of town. They worked hard to squeeze six of us in on a Friday in July (other places that we asked laughed us off). The service was top notch, vibe was cool without feeling silly, and each dish really wowed us. They make great use out of a pleasantly simple menu. The check didn’t feel outrageous like other island spots. Will be my new default here.

Lovely Valentine's Day Dinner! For our first time, the service was incredible, cocktails on point and such exceptional food. We started off with the Kale & Native Green Salad and Smoked Fogtown Carrots then the Maple Leaf Duck Breast and Moroccan Chicken Tagine, sharing each dish. We had leftovers which were just as delicious the second day. Everything was top notch, recommend trying the carrots such a unique dish. The only disappointment is in ourselves for not going to Sister Ship sooner!

Had a 9 girl bachelorette dinner on 8/15 and it could not have been better at Sister Ship. The design aesthetic of the restaurant (even the perfumed washrooms) was both stimulating and soothing… Then the food delivered by all-star Bobby. Every bite had me tossing my head back or hands in the air in ecstasy. The sauce with Harissa Chicken was a particular standout. 10/10 recommend on all fronts… including location!

The service and overall dining experience was 1 star at best, but I’m giving it 2 because the food was genuinely great. That said, this was one of the most baffling dining experiences I’ve ever had—especially at this price point. Our bill was $700 for a table of four. I made a reservation a month in advance for 5:30 PM, expecting a full, relaxed dining experience. When we arrived, we were barely acknowledged. When we were finally escorted to our table, it felt like we were a bother. Fine, maybe it's one of those “too cool for school” spots where aloofness is the aesthetic. Whatever. We were seated near the POS area, not some forgotten corner, so we were clearly visible. The restaurant wasn’t even busy yet. We got water and were told someone would be by shortly for our drink order. Then… nothing. Ten minutes, nothing. Twenty minutes. Thirty minutes, still nothing. Nearly 40 minutes later, I got up and approached a group of staff chatting about their weekend plans. I politely asked if I was missing something—should we be ordering somewhere else? One server casually glanced over and said, “I’ll be over in a minute.” She eventually came to the table and said, “Oh, I forgot this was my section,” then took our order with all the enthusiasm of a dial tone. Later, one of my friends switched from white to red wine. She still had white in her glass, but before she could say anything, the server just topped it off with more white. My friend said, “Oh, sorry—I actually ordered a red.” The server sighed loudly, took my friend’s partially finished glass and the new wine, and dumped it all INTO MY GLASS without asking. No apology. Just walked off. A few minutes later, she returned and said, “Oh, I probably shouldn’t have done that,” but still didn’t offer a fresh glass or ask if I was drinking the same wine. The tip is auto-included at 20%, so maybe there's just zero incentive to give a damn. Entrees finally arrive around 6:30, and now we’re getting rushed by both the staff and the manager to wrap up because there are reservations waiting. But our experience didn’t even start until 40 minutes after our actual reservation time. We were celebrating, ordering drinks and dessert, but then the manager came by a third time and was very firm in pushing us to leave. It got so uncomfortable that we paid quickly, without even double-checking the bill, only to realize afterward that we’d been charged for drinks we never ordered. Not surprising, given how spaced-out our server was. There’s also a mandatory “Kitchen Appreciation Fee,” which I honestly didn’t mind—the kitchen was the only redeeming part of the night. The food was excellent: well-seasoned, beautifully plated. But unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to make up for the chaos. At this price point, I expect great food and service. I won’t be back, and I won’t be recommending this place to anyone.

I initially thought this was the best spot on the island — the location, setting, and overall vibe were exactly what I was looking for. The courtyard is charming, and the patio is lovely, once you get past the persistent smell of dry cleaning coming from behind the building. The food was genuinely fantastic, and our food runner deserves praise for being attentive — clearing the table efficiently and eventually bringing our check when our aloof waitress seemingly lost interest in our table. Unfortunately, the experience took a downturn. We ordered two glasses of 6 puttonyos Tokaji, but were told it was unavailable and recommended a pricier, uninspired Sauternes instead. Then, somewhat miraculously, a bottle of Tokaji was "found" and poured — but the color and taste were off. When we asked to see the bottle, it turned out not to be a 6 puttonyos. I politely tried to point this out to our waitress, but she completely ignored me. Thankfully, our reliable food runner stepped in again and helped wrap things up, ultimately saving what could have been a thoroughly disappointing evening.
