Went to this place for dinner on a weekday. Was not very crowded. Ordered the Caramelized Pork, which was 18 dollars. Tasted good. Service was speedy (less than 10 min) Small shop with a few small tables

Google
This little hidden gem is the coolest. I am a frequent Rundle Mall visitor and I wish I had heard of this place sooner. The lady behind the counter was so very friendly. I ordered 2 serves of cold rolls. The cold rolls are packed with FRESH veggies. I like how the cold rolls are separated with cling wrap so they don’t break. All places should do this. Can’t wait to return and try the famous pho !!!

Very small place and super busy. We visited twice during short time staying in Adelaide. Nice food. Fast service. Enjoyed beef noodles there.

Google
Affordable price and Panko crumbed fried chicken rice bowl was so yummy. If you wanna crave rice, I recommend it! Noodle Bowl is good as well.

Google
Small shop that is packed with flavour. This was the first dining experience I had in Adelaide and it had me coming back for more.

Google
Great little venue for Vietnamese food. Had the Noodle Deluxe bowl and had lots of sweet, savoury and sour classic Vietnamese flavours alongside the usual BBQ/crispy pork and grilled chicken protein. All delicious especially with extra chilli!

1st time here today. Won’t be the last. Beef Phô and Chicken Satay was amazing. Highly recommend.

I completely enjoy the food here, absolutely amazing food. But there is this girl on reg who takes order, she has been repeatedly rude to us. I have always let it slide, but every single time she takes the order, she uses such a demean tone. Every single time!

Yelp
World class Vietnamese food! My wife said the banh me sandwich was the best she ever had. I had carmelized pork belly which was also first rate. Crab spring rolls were terrific as well. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the price was a bargain for what we got. I highly recommend!

Yelp
Was in Adelaide Australia month ago and found this wonderful gem! They were very friendly and service was amazing. The bao's buns were very good! Specially the soft shell crab. The crispy skin pork belly Bhan Mi was delicious!!!! And the crispy chicken wings are a must have!!! Over all this place was a great find! Highly recommend

Yelp
We tried Sit Lo because of the great reviews, and we LOVE Pho. It's a busy little restaurant in a laneway, decorated well, nice staff, good ambiance. The spring rolls were light and tasty, however I was disappointed with the Pho

Yelp
Funky little hole in the wall eatery. Enjoyed the 3 mixed steamed bun for $13 prepared with lovely fresh ingredients. I also brought the salt and pepper wings BOOM what a flavour explosion.. Delicious and priced well

Yelp
Finally I got to try the famous Sit Lo. We ordered the 3 mixed baos (soft shell crab, chicken and slow cooked pork belly) --- I ate the chicken bao and oh it was crispy and delicious. Next is the Soft shell crab and it's yummy too. But I think the best is the pork belly! It's so soft... it almost melts in your mouth! The taste just blends so well with the bun. It's the taste of 'siopao' that I miss from my country. The only con is I find the serving small. 5 aud for a small bao. However if you'll get the 3 mixed baos then you pay 13 aud instead of 15. But I still wont mind coming back for 3 pork belly buns haha. Next we ordered the 6 aud small beef pho (the large is 10 aud). The soup has its minty aromatic taste and smell that I love. For me small serving is enough and Im glad they have it. It's just so hard to pay like 13 aud big bowl of noodle that I couldnt finish by myself. We were so impressed with the 2 meals that we ordered 3 mixed cold rolls (10 aud). I chose the spicy mayo dip. However, this one is a bit of dissapointment. I think they're tasteless. It's mostly cold noodles and wrapping. I have to really dip it to the sauce to make it flavorful. I couldn't really taste the difference of the 3 cold roll flavours. I have tried tastier cold rolls in the past (like the one in adelaide train station) We wanted to try the pepper wings but we were so full already. Overall, I had a great experience at Sit Lo. I highly recommend their baos especially the pork belly. I cant wait to try the chicken wings next time.

Yelp
New to Bank Street, and further evidence of Adelaide's love affair with Vietnamese food, is casual eatery Sit Lo. So named for the cute low stool two person tables lining the wall, Sit Lo has a funky modern interior and a large communal table running along it's centre. Behind the tables along the side, the wall is covered in a sandy render and then adorned with black writing, that spells out "Bank St". Proudly displayed on the wood-lined wall, is a tempting menu of noodle bowls, bao ('Asian tacos'), cold rolls, banh mi, and the house specialty - pho. Unusually, it is served in a large cup, perfect for take away. Pronounced "fur" - there is a school of thought that muses that pho is indeed adapted from the French 'pot au feu' - or perhaps it is the other way around? Pho is a clear meat and seafood broth soup and Vietnam's answer to the Japanese ramen. Comfort, flu beater or a hangover cure in a bowl, pho is usually served with a mountain of herbs, bean sprouts, lime and chili for adding in to your perfect blend. Staff are helpful when ordering, and offer suggestions as well as extra dipping sauces to make sure you enjoy your meal to the max. While ordering is at the counter, if you are eating in, staff will bring your meal out to you. Tofu and sauteed shitake mushroom banh mi ($6.50) are chock-full with pickled carrot, daikon, cucumber and corriander. Turn up the heat with the sriracha and hoisin sauces on each table. The tofu and mushrooms are rich and flavoursome, the balance of sour, hot and herby filling good, but the bun isn't as crispy on the outside as other examples. Cold rolls come in three varieties, at $3.50 each, or three of your choice for $10. Tempura soft shell crab was Mr Wino's pick of the bunch, crispy and sweet inside the cool herby filling. Barossa Valley pork belly cold roll was rich and tasty with the chilli mayo dip. Tofu and shitake mushroom cold rolls come with the recommended dip-match, offered as a little bonus because it is so good with this dish. It is a delicious sauce and with a squirt of sriracha it is a formidable cold roll. Crunch from the red cabbage, tang from the carrot, fresh herbs and rich meatiness from the mushroom . Sit Lo is fast, casual, but the service is a cut above regular take away joints by offering real care, and some table service.

Yelp
Fun and funky.......that was the vibe and not just the company I was with! I really love the decor here, in particular the absence of the usually ubiquitous bright lighting found in most Asian eateries. Large and interesting wall graphics, chunky wooden tables, table numbers nestled in rickshaws, easy to read and well designed menu on the wall and cosy lighting. I may have mentioned the lighting already.....but it's sooooooo much more relaxing not squinting into fluoros.... I really enjoyed the cold rolls. A selection of 3; soft shell crab, pork and tofu. Big selection of dipping sauces. The peanut one was delicious. The noodle bowl looked great and was well priced. Fresh, light but substantial enough to be filling. My first experience of lotus chips and they were delicious. A very tasty coating. It was mentioned that they could have been a little bit crisper, but I don't have anything to compare that with. So for a first experience, I was impressed! Plus the rest of our group liked them too. Friendly and attentive staff and quick service. One little word of warning: there is a toilet outside, up steps but quick to get to, and it's a bit dodgy. Could be cleaner! So if you don't really need to go, perhaps don't go! But do go to the restaurant - well worth a visit. Also, they don't have a liquor licence, but it sounds like they might be getting one since they said they don't have one 'yet'. That would just round off the evening nicely, to sip a glass of wine whilst enjoying the surroundings. A great addition to the thriving West End!

Yelp
What really drew me to Sit Lo was the mouthwatering the pictures posted by other reviews on Yelp. They came up on my feed and I thought, "Man, I need Bao!" They are an Asian Style Taco if you did not know. In fact, the first opportunity I had to get into the city involved a quick stop at Sit Lo. The menu at Sit Lo has a lot to offer. I see that they do not use MSG, which I love. I have reactions to MSG, so that is great to know. Very talented chefs know how to use the right ingredients to get flavour without having to use it. So well done Sit Lo. This is not a big restaurant. More of a quick stop lunch destination. There is one long shared table in the middle and some side tables for two. I ordered the soft shell crab bao and a serving of lotus root chips. The Bao came out of the kitchen very fast. The steamed bun was really light, sweet and fresh. The crab, mayo and cabbage was a great comfortable mix of flavours. The batter was seasoned well and the crab was cooked nice and crispy. Overall, a very satisfying lunch. I could have gobbled down four! They would be amazing paired with a lager. The lotus root chips however arrived a little overcooked. What a shame I thought. They were super busy, so these things happen. After speaking to a very friendly and understanding waitress, they redeemed the problem and offered me a new lot. What amazing service! The new lot was cooked well, crunchy and spiced. Very nice. Thanks for looking after me Sit Lo, I will return and bring others!

Yelp
Venue and Banh mi review only: Many, many positive thoughts were coming into my head walking back from lunch at Sitlo today. I'm trying desperately to discern between the positivity inherent in a good mood and a genuinely good experience. My conclusion is the latter (given I had a few cheeky midweek beverages last night and amild headache this morning), and for good reason. My experience at Sit lo was like some food Utopia. I was happy. Everyone around me seemed happy. I could just sit there, and be happy and be happy that everyone else seemed happy. The staff were very friendly and prompt. The price for the food is reasonable, especially for what I saw come out and also enjoyed myself...The pork rolls and pho looked delicious! I had my standard fare: 1 pork and 1 chicken banh mi. When the woman serving me said 'oh, you'd like to eat them both here?' I had a little chuckle to myself - She thought I was sharing them with someone else! Roast pork: Hands down the best quality pork meat I've had in a banh mi that's been made by someone else (I like to make my own occasionally). First bite to last was ultimate crunch city, with juicy meaty flavour to boot. Not a single disappointing bite. And the huge bonus was they cut my rolls in half and served them in these really kitchy cool little cardboard baskets! Chicken: I opted for the bread crumbed fried (?) chicken. Some zesty mayo came through, but in a great proportion to the rest of the chilli/veg/meat. Really tasty chicken and, again, really well presented. These were also hands down the best 'balanced' banh mis I've had as well. A perfect ratio of meat, cucumber, coriander, carrots and chilli. The chairs along the wall are repurposed old drums - solid recycling effort. The tables each had a bottle of hoisin and a bottle of Sriracha sauce. This in itself, to me, was worth the extra few cents on my banh mis compared to other places. I'll be back and bringing friends next time. Really want to try the other menu items! KaChing!

Yelp
Lovely lunch spot. I love how the Bank St, Leigh St and Peel St area is flourishing and this new place is great. I haven't tried the Pho yet but everyone else was eating it in the cafe. I found the Chicken Noodle salad really delicious. Great place to get away from work for an hour and soak up the ambiance.

Yelp
After moving to a new job earlier this year I moved away from the fantastic Bahn Mi (http://www.yelp.com.au/biz/banh-mi-vietnamese-rolls-adelaide-2) and have been looking for a replacement on the West Side. After conveniently forgetting my lunch I headed down to Sit Lo to give it a crack, and I'm in love. The place is very cool and cosy, bordering on cramped in the lunch rush, but you expect it to be. The menu is clear and simple making deciding easy and that keeps the line moving. Having said that though, most people went straight up and ordered knowing exactly what they wanted. Being a vego and having been spoiled by the quality of the vego bahn mi from the place linked above I was very keen to try their tofu and mushroom roll. It was awesome and came out so quickly! I was also told to get the popcorn tofu. Rather than just being a side it will now form the core of all future meals there. Simple food made well is so fantastic. My only gripe is that the popcorn tofu took longer than expected, particularly when you compare it to the time taken for the bahn mi, so clearly i am splitting hairs. Definitely going back.

Yelp
Went here for the first time tonight and really enjoyed it. It's a busy little space, tucked away on Bank Street with cool decor and a cool vibe. I tried the Baos, their steamed buns with fillings of pork belly, soft shell crab (my fav) or Panko crumbed chicken. The buns were super tasty and a really nice, quick bite. This place is perfect for a quick lunch or a bite before night out. I also tried their lotus root chips. They were tasty but definitely not something I would get again. All in all, a great little Vietnamese place and well worth a visit when in town.

Yelp
My favourite Vietnamese! I found these guys on instagram when they first opened and loved their amazing food and speedy service. Nowadays they are extremely popular but still quicker than other places in town! They are a more western influence on Vietnamese, my asian foody friend thinks they are too modern for her liking but I love them. They always deliver fresh and tasty food and I have never had a bad experience. My favourite is the panko fried chicken, I love it in their noodle bowls or banh mi however their baos are also exceptional good. Great iced coffee too! Pork is delicious too, definitely worth a shot. It's located on Bank Street just down from Maccas on Hindley St. Small shop and you might not get to sit down inside but there is actually local seats outside if it's a nice day. Definitely a great option before the footy!

Yelp
I was walking aimlessly around trying to decide what to have for lunch, then I stumbled across Sit Lo! I ordered the grilled chicken noodle salad, my god it's tasty! Semi chargrilled the chicken with fresh mixed lettuce leafs, noodles, chili, coriander and carrots topped with the traditional Vietnamese fish sauce! The place is cutely decorated with different sized wheels on the walls, cute little tuktuk bicycles on the tables and warm glowing lights hanging from the ceiling. It is hidden and small if you're not wondering around with your eyes, there's also no street signs or anything hanging from the roof. Service was super fast, friendly and cheap! I would go back there and order something else off the menu :D

Yelp
I always consider Sit Lo for a last minute take out dinner before it closes. Friendly staff, quick service, and always satisfies my hunger (really worth!). It has one of the tastiest pho in Adelaide, with generous amount of tender beef and tasty soup. The entrees are interesting, very delicious and increase appetite. The vietnamese coffee is also great; rich and not too sweet. The bao (bun) tastes amazing. Each of the flavors has different kind of taste which makes it difficult to pick just one. 3 for $13 is really a good offer to that.

Yelp
Roast pork bao - soooo good. I love crackling and this didn't disappoint. I love the authentic pho too. You cant beat fresh chilli and coriander!
google avatar

Amy Z.

Yelp
They served lovely Bao in this place! Piping hot steamed bun with a crispy chicken filling and chilli Mayo! The braised pork was so soft! It literally melts in your mouth. The sweet bean sauce goes really well with the meat too. What a great way to end this lovely trip to Adelaide!

Yelp
Have already gone there for twice in 1 week. I had cold rolls, bahn mi ( not sure about the spelling though), and steamed bao. I would recommend bahn mi. I ordered the tofu one, it's fried vege with tofu inside a bread. 6 dollars for a very big one - big enough for 2 girls to share as lunch. Good place to come. Will still go there next time!

Yelp
A little "hole in the wall" restaurant on a street in Adelaide that used to have the sole purpose of getting from the train station to....anywhere else. After having this recommended by a friend I can tell you I owe them a huge thank you. Seating maybe 25 people at capacity, this is the perfect place to grab a quick bite with a few mates. The wife and I ordered a noodle bowl, the bao sampler plate and the Sit Lo bites (mini spring rolls) and each item was more impressive than the last. Everything that was meant to be crispy, was, items were fried but not greasy, and food arrived within about 7 minutes of ordering. Super reasonably priced (under $20/head including soft drink) I can tell you I will definitely be back. Whilst not important to us, there were plenty of vego options as well :) I understand why they aren't licensed, but this kind of food definitely lends itself to being washed down with a crisp lager. A minor minor criticism though.

Yelp
I've heard a lot about this place but hadn't actually got there yet, despite only working about a block away. I had one of the specials, a BBQ pork noodle salad, which was really nicely done, flavourful and noodles were the perfect texture. Ambiently, it's one of Adelaide's increasing number of "hole in the wall" type places, with an on-trend fitout comprising reclaimed wood and white subway tiles. The name is definitely relevant as we sat on low cushioned drums - deliberately got there early to avoid the crowd which came later. Cosy while nobody else is in it, but quickly gets cramped and crowded with the lunch time rush. In fact, as we were finishing up, we had people sit at the table behind us and the woman on my side actually sat on me. I couldn't go any further forward and she seemed happy to rest her back on mine so I had to bounce right away. I don't like communal dining at the best of times, let alone being used as a back rest. Not really the venue's fault - although I think I'll get mine takeaway next time.
google avatar

Renee F.

Yelp
Bahn Mi, Bao and Pho have exploded on the Adelaide food scene, but Sit Lo serve up these classic Vietnamese street foods with a difference. The passion of the owners and staff is clear. Deliciously grilled chicken stuffs their generous Bahn Mi. The pate is perfect and the veggies always super fresh. Great for a lunch on the run, or a small group catch up over quality food.
google avatar

Pablo M.

Yelp
Happy staff = happy food = happy clients Simple yet fantastic menu. pho is aromatic and tasty , bahn mi are warm and fresh sides are spot on. $10 is all you need to turn that frown upside down
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
Sit Lo translates to small plate. And not the small plate you're thinking. The roll was not particularly crusty. The meat was tasty, well-seasoned, with delightful little crunches of crackling. Coriander was light on, which didn't bother me as I'm not the biggest fan. My "a teeny tiny bit of chilli" equated to three big slices. Not the best banh mi I've eaten. And what really topped it off was the pointlessly small plate my roll came on. A redeeming quality - I was greeted very warmly. Service is this places strong point. By the way, that first bit. Not true. Made it up. ;)

Peter J.

Yelp
Fresh ingredients well prepared. Friendly staff. Funky informal surroundings. Have tried Pho noodles and noodle salads, both great. Tofu and shiitake cold roll was exceptional!
google avatar

Joyce V.

Yelp
A new kid on the block, as I was feeling low with a cold, I was looking forward to a hot pho to warm me up even though it was a bright sunny day for this winter day. When I see that pho is served in a takeaway tub, I changed my mind n ordered a bao and a bahn mi instead. All food are served in disposal containers, seems to be a trend these days but if I choose to sit down, I would like a plate or a proper bowl. Why do they bother to ask if I was to sit in or take away, I suppose it will either be served up or packaged it in a bag. A long communal table in the middle separates the walk way to the counter n the 4 x 2 tables by the side, suppose there will be outside dinning once the weather fines up? Bao are not normally served up in traditional Vietnamese lunch places but if the demand is there, why not indeed. I tried the soft shell crab bao n there was a nice crunch to the crispy crab n the dill mayo is not that distinctive for me, perhaps due to my state of health that I couldn't really taste the dill? I would have like more filling to my pork bahn mi as it is dearer than a few other places in the city which serve up a very decent bahn mi for less. Staff are friendly enough n attentive, customers today are not in ties n suit but mostly workers during lunch break? It is well located in the hip precinct of bank street / hindley streets, it will do well.

Yelp
Would I give Sit Lo 5 bangin' stars? Pho-sure! The name? It means bicycle. Funny story though, my friend thought it was the reason behind all the low chairs inside .. get it? Sit - LOW! *giggles* This place is the go-to for all your Vietnamese cravings, with it's large selection of perfect-size pho's, asian tacos, cold rolls, icy-cold Vietnamese Iced Coffee.. and MORE! But, before I start raving on and on about how much I adore Sit Lo and how badly you need to try it out, can we just get a Hallelujah for the fact that their Pho soup comes in a CUP (eco-friendly too), AMAZING! .. "Sit Lo, making Pho consumption easier since 2014". Their boas (Asian tacos) are the perfect bite-size threesome that you'll keep coming back for, time and time again. This also makes for the perfect on-the-go lunch! Needless to say, this place packs out! So if you can get out of the office early, head down when they open at 11, especially if you're considering dining in instead of takeaway. Kudos to the friendly staff, who I'm sure have their work cut out for them, because Sit Lo is definitely going to be the buzz in town, with their absolutely amazing contemporary take on Vietnamese food. Enjoy!

Yelp
Had lunch here today and it was fabulous. The beef pho was delicious, good broth and tender meat, perhaps a few more herbs would have been nice. Service was quick. The decor is modern concrete contrasted with warm cosy lighting and a big wooden table down the centre of the room. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
3.5 stars? Come on! This place deserves far more... Seriously great banh mi for a decent price. Great friendly service and a buzzing vibe... It's the pick of bank street for sure.. I'll be back for more banh mi and coco crush... It's now on my go to list of consistently decent places I'll be frequenting in Adelaide.

Yelp
With their extremely fast service, delicious food & stylish decor - Sit Lo is a place not to be missed. Bank Street still has a fair bit to improve to keep up with the new & hip Peel Street & Leigh Street - but Sit Lo is definitely helping Bank Street to keep up it's competitiveness. I can't wait to go back here ASAP to try the many more delicious options available!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellant fresh food that delivered super quick and very friendly staff. Not to mention awesome value for money
google avatar

Yelp
Bao rolls: Chicken-cold and not much flavour Pork belly- good Soft shell crab- too much Mayo, crab lacking
google avatar

Carolyn T.

Yelp
Pho isn't great but the rustic vibes are amazing! A great place to chillax and catch up with friends on your uni break. Food is overall ok, staff are friendly and not at all pricey.

Alan W.

Yelp
Decided to give this place a try as they were busy and the menu looked great. Went with a noodle bowl with grilled chicken. Washed down with some Jasmine Tea. The portion was certainly large enough $10 main $3 tea. The staff were friendly and efficient, I'd certainly recommend

Jenny M.

Yelp
Bad customer service. I asked the waitress that brought pho to the table for pepper. He said yes sure. He walked off ,waited for 2 minutes and he never came back . Went to the front lady and ask her she said I will bring it to your table.she never gave my drink until I went up there the 2nd time. Literally waited 7 minutes plus for just for pepper. Seriously should get better wait staff !. Not to mention the pho size are like so small with hardly any meat.currie street pho Sa much better then this place. Will not be going back there
google avatar

Ben C.

Yelp
Delicious food at very reasonable prices. Had the BBQ pork Salad which was awesome and spicy. GF had the pork belly and fried chicken Bao. Pork belly was better than the fried chicken. Really nice balanced flavor. Great relaxing vibe. Glad we found this place while visiting Adelaide.
google avatar

Tp N.

Yelp
Not authentic, the pho is tasteless and bland. It's only good because it's quick and easy for a take out but the quality isn't there. The baos are overrated. Maybe it was one of those hit and miss days but I probably won't come back.
google avatar

George L.

Yelp
Quick service! The noodle bowls were delicious! The grilled chicken was better than the panko crumbed fried chicken and had more meat in the dish. The chilli had a bit of bite and could have been offset by additional mint but well worth stopping by.

M H.

Yelp
Long line at lunch but quick service. Food is good with fresh ingredients. I had pho and a rice roll. Both were pretty mediocre. Not bad just not popping with flavor.

Robin C.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this small hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese place. We had the 3 for $13 Bao special with pork, chicken, and beef. All were soft and excellently flavored. We also had the bbq pork banh mi and one of the noodle bowls which came with a tasty dressing. Everything was tasty, filling, and cheap. Order at the front and sit down. We were in and out in probably 15-20 minutes. seating for about 25 in a pretty small place. Would go again .

Ya S.

Yelp
The decor of this place is modern and I like to sit on their high chairs which are very comfortable. The service is friendly and helpful! I asked if I could have more basil on my pho and they gave me a plateful of extra basil and chilli. The soup does not cause you to get thirsty as it is not too salty. Favourite dishes other than pho for me would be the grilled chicken bowl and prawn salad. So happy that this place is so near my hotel! I kept wanting to go back in my short stay here in Adelaide!

Yelp
Expect to Vietnamese gourmet street food at Sit Lo, ranging from Bahn Mi (Vietnamese crusty meat rolls) to ph all for great prices. Love the Panko crumbed chicken Bahn mi with the condensed milk iced coffee when I'm on a university break, one of my favourite new places in Adelaide.

Jess M.

Yelp
Sit Lo has some of the most bizarre yet interesting food I've tried. I love the style and the taste is something else. Really like!!

S E.

Yelp
I was hoping my first Yelp review would be due to being so overwhelmed by a place that I was compelled to rush online after making sweet sweet love to their food and brag about my most recent conquest... How wrong I was! Full tables, a line to the door - high end prices and good reviews... Surely this was going to be worth the walk and wait! I've aptly renamed the Banh Mi, Butter Mi seeing as the only thing I could taste was the thick layer of butter on the soggy roll. Like R.C, the Crackling on the pork was probably a few minutes away from being dust.... So, I guess, dust has no calories so its healthy, right? Cold Rolls... Cold in name and, well, they were cold - so no false advertising there! Cold rice noodles and cold cabbage. Not much else in there to comment on. Actually, I lie.. A solitary piece of mint! I'm a huge advocate of mint as it usually makes anything better, but in this case... even it couldnt bring life to the cold. My advice - plenty of other much tastier, less fancy pants, appropriately priced places around. On the plus side... it was a sunny day... Oh, and Friday. Yeah, Friday!

Allison G.

Yelp
My favourite vietnamese place in the city. I love their modern take on the foods and during easter time their hot cross baos are to die for!!!!!!
