Cozy Stay with Stunning Views at Sitha's Heaven, Ella Our stay at Sitha's Heaven in Ella was truly memorable. We booked the Apartment with a View, and it was exactly as the name suggests—spacious, comfortable, and offering breathtaking sights of Ella Rock and Mini Adam's Peak. The apartment featured two large bedrooms with two double beds and one single bed, a generously sized bathroom with a unique stone shower that added a touch of luxury, and a massive living room perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The highlight was the expansive balcony, where we spent hours soaking in the serene beauty of Ella's lush greenery and iconic peaks. The breakfast was another highlight of our stay—delicious and plentiful! The spread included eggs, bread, butter, jam, and an array of traditional Sri Lankan delicacies. We especially loved the sweet coconut-filled pancakes, dosa, and coconut roti, complemented by a variety of fresh fruits like bananas, papayas, and irresistibly sweet local mangoes. It was the perfect way to start our day. However, a few minor drawbacks tempered the experience. The property is about a 10-minute walk from the main road, with a narrow and steep path leading up to it. Cars often struggle on this route, so we had to rely on tuk-tuks, which cost around LKR 300 one way. Additionally, the TV in the apartment wasn't functional, and the towels provided had an unpleasant smell, so we ended up using our own. Despite these minor inconveniences, Sitha's Heaven lived up to its name, offering a cozy and comfortable stay with incredible views and a warm, homely atmosphere. It's an ideal choice for those seeking tranquility and a taste of Sri Lankan hospitality amidst Ella's natural beauty. #SithasHeaven #EllaSriLanka #CozyStay #ScenicViews #SriLankanHospitality #TravelElla #NatureRetreat #LocalBreakfast #EllaAdventures #FamilyTravel #ExploreSriLanka

We stayed in the top floor apartment for 2 nights and it was a bad experience. - There is no hot water in the rooms. - The cold water trickles through and is inadequate to have a shower or a wash. - No attempts were made to ask for or offer breakfast or tea/coffee - The rooms could do with a bit more cleanliness. - Just one fan provided for the whole apartment, with a plug type that does not fit the sockets in the apartment. The room sizes are spacious and the view of the Ella Gap is decent. For the price charged, it is "absolutely not worth it" and there are better properties at a lower price point which are more functional. We paid close to USD 90/night for the apartment which sleeps 5. The past reviews for this property on various sites are not reflective of the current condition or the service levels. This place is best avoided. Edited: It is disappointing to see the response from the owner, who has chosen to respond with false accusations, instead of addressing the facts. A review is a personal opinion about the experience we had and is intended to help others form their own opinion and make an informed choice. In any case, we wish you the best as our paths are unlikely to cross again!

We spent some time in Ella and we found great hosts. The rooms are clean, the location is perfect and the breakfast is amazing. They also built a nice restaurant with great food. The location is very nice, quiet but close to the center. Thank you for hosting us 🙏.

Small and basic, but comfortable and clean rooms. Very helpful and friendly staff. The owner is an incredibly nice and calm person. During check in I got a drawn map of the town with detailed descriptions how to get to the hot spots in the area if you fancy a hike (like me). This info sheet was actually so helpful, that other tourists I met during my day trips made fotos of it for their own use. I asked the owner if I may have typical Sri Lankan breakfasts during my stay and what I got was amazing: I was offered fresh fruits and each day a different combination of different Sri Lankan classics like hoppers, string hoppers, coconut pancakes etc. The best breakfast in quality and size I got during my three weeks trip in Sri Lanka! The place is a 10 minutes up and down walk from the town centre, but the area is quiet (compared to the locations right at the main road, which is very busy!) and the mountain view from the shared balcony is very nice. Conveniently there is a restaurant/bar next to the guesthouse, the Beyond Nomad Cafe, to have a beer or two and they make a decent pizza freshly from the wooden oven. A billiard table is also available there.

We spent 2 nights here and had a great time. As is so often the case, this is a family business where everyone is involved. The owner even speaks a bit of German, gave us great tips and even cooked us a curry on the last day. His tuktuk driver recommendation from Maduka, who drove us around Ella for 2 days, was also great. A big highlight here was a secluded waterfall where you could swim and be completely alone without the typical tourists :-). We definitely want to come back. This place has a great energy.

We were a family of 4 (two adults and two children) staying here for 2 nights in January 2020. It is a lovely family run hotel who made it very homely and it's great for a two night short stop. The breakfast is fantastic - huge portions and very tasty - and overlooks the Ella Gap which was an incredible sight. The view was unforgettable and the location of the hotel is ideal. Getting to the hotel by car is a bit tricky as it is located down a narrow rough road so you need to have a skilled driver like we did! There is a convenient shortcut from the hotel to walk to Ella town centre which is just a 10 minute walk away via some steps (make sure to take a torch though). ||||The rooms and bathroom were very basic and although they had no A/C, they did have fans. There were quite a few insects but that's expected given it's situated in the hills and I doubt there is any hotel in Ella which won't have any bugs wondering around outside the room! ||||Overall, we had a fantastic stay here and would recommend it as the hotel offers great value for money!
