Sive Budget Accommodation

We were welcomed at the guesthouse by Michael who is very friendly. First impressions of the 2 rooms that we reserved at the back of the courtyard were that they were comfortable if a little small. I can say that the nights sleep was good and the room has all the amenities that are needed in the room ie coffee and the shower did the job. ||While the stay was good, I would not give it a 4 star. There are a few things that could be improved in my opinion 1/ The rooms are small but I do believe that a chair would help when ie reading. Lying on your back the whole time is not great 2/ I saw Michael smoking in the courtyard which is no problem to me but the ashtray full of cigarette butts looks horrible. 3/ Unlike other reviewers, the breakfast looked bland and certainly I would advise nobody to arrive at the breakfast table hungry. For a full Irish breakfast, I got 2 small sausages, 2 rashers and 2 eggs. The toast was hard and the bananes were not ripe. The only good thing about my breakfast was the coffee. Thankfully my wife and family had a few boiled eggs to help. ||Cahersiveen was convenient to Valencia Island but I would not be in any rush to go back. Decent for one night only.

We booked this accommodation for one night only. We booked it through the phone as you are getting 10% off doing this way. Payment was cash only, we agreed with the lady over the phone that we will get breakfast at 8:15am as we wanted to have it as early as possible but on the place the guy offer breakfast at 8:40 - as the earliest. Wasn't too happy as we really needed to rush out early morning but eggs and coffee made it better. The breakfast was good but I would add some vegetables for those eggs and toast. The room was small but ok for the one night stay. There was no TV in the room what really surprised me. Bathroom was small but clean , missing a space for your toiletries as sink was tiny. Overall: good but would choose it more like a place to sleep and go than a longer stay.

Lovely spot in Cahersiveen. We booked a private double room with a private bathroom and were pleasantly surprised with the quality for the money we paid! Very clean place and the bed was very comfortable. No outside noise to be heard at night. Our room was located in an outside chalet separate to the main building which didn’t bother us as the weather was nice- some benches and outdoor seating there too. Our host was extremely welcoming and helpful, and gave us a lovely breakfast the following morning. Would definitely recommend the Sive :)

Very nice hostel located in the center of Cahersiveen. We had a bedroom with a private bathroom. It was small but comfortable and clean. The breakfast was great. The wifi in the cottage wasn't so great, unfortunately (low signal strength I guess). The staff was really nice and helpful. There is also a garage for bicycles available.

The receptionist greeted us really nicely and showed us where we were staying without any trouble. The beds were comfy and there were no disruptions during sleep. I liked how clean it was inside both the toilets and dormitory.|Would recommend!

Quite B&B. Well situated on kerry way. Often full. Great Reception. Clean. Mike the French Host is really kind and accomodating. Breakfast is perfect. A bit expensive for hikers but nice place after hiking.

Very nice and calm place. The owner is lovely and minds your wishes for breakfast. The double rooms are small but very comfy and cozy. Great place to stay

This was a lovely hostel in a great location. We had a wonderful stay here and particularly enjoyed the breakfasts made by Mary and chatting with her in the mornings. She also went out of her way to arrange a cab ride for us to our drop off for the next section of the Kerry Way. The rooms here are small, but cozy and very nice for a hostel. They have a great outdoor seating area with ample room to dry clothes. We'd absolutely stay here again.
