On the Grid : Six Acres

"Six Acres is a cozy spot in the oldest brick building in Gastown. It also has one of the best people-watching patios in the summer. The drinks are cheap and the beer selection is fantastic. The food is delicious and made for sharing. If you’re looking for poutine, this is the place to go. And don’t miss the adult popcorn. Insider tip: If you have to wait for a table and there's room on the bench by the door, order a drink while you wait." - Louder Than Ten

We went to Six Acres for a traditional breakfast to celebrate Mother’s Day. It’s a beautiful place with a nice atmosphere. There was live music, and as expected on a special day, the restaurant was very full. We ordered The Big Breakfast and Avocado Toast, both came with coffee. The food was good, and we understand the wait time because of the busy day. The staff was very friendly and kind. A great place to enjoy a special moment with family.

I love this place! My wife and I went for breakfast, and the food was absolutely delicious perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The service was great friendly and attentive. We were pleasantly surprised to get free coffee, and the cocktail drinks were awesome. I especially loved the Espresso Martini so smooth and flavorful! Highly recommend this spot for a tasty breakfast and a great overall experience.

Had such a great night at 6 Acres in Gastown with my friend! The cocktails were seriously amazing—pretty sure they have one of the best bartenders in town. The happy hour food is a steal, with prices from $5 to $16—you don’t see that often in Gastown! I’d love to throw a private party upstairs someday—the manager said they can host 25-35 guests, which sounds perfect. Definitely coming back! Great drinks, good vibes, and awesome deals.

Went to 6 acres in Sunday afternoon. We sat outside on a sunny day. Gaston was lively had a good time people watching. We ordered the big breakfast and the salmon Benny. Good bang for your buck.

Went here because I saw this place on Tiktok and decided to give it a try! This place provides free coffee (+ refills) with brunch meals and the brunch dishes are only $16! I wish the portions were bigger but for the price it’s worth it imo. I ordered the original Benny and it was yummy. They also have good vegetarian options on their menu as well. Went on a Sunday morning around 10am and the wait was only ~10 minutes. The service however was okay and it was hard to reach their servers as no one regularly came around. The food also took ~20 minutes to come out. I’d recommend giving them a try though!

🌤 Six Acres (Gastown) — Atmosphere: 10/10, Food… not quite I had high hopes when I saw their $16 brunch special — and with a cozy sunny patio, live music, and that classic Gastown charm, I was so ready for a perfect solo brunch moment. ✨ But… honesty time. The wait was long — both for a table and for my food. I sat outside alone (which I love!), but maybe that’s why I felt a little forgotten. When my avocado toast finally arrived, it was cold, and honestly… tiny. Like, beautiful, but definitely not enough to fill me up, even for brunch. I really expected a bit more for the price. That said, the vibe saved everything. The singer was amazing, the music made it feel like a little movie scene, and the view from the patio was so lovely. My server was super sweet, and the fact that she refilled my coffee definitely made me smile ☕🤍 So yes, the food experience wasn’t the best — but the atmosphere? Magical. If you’re coming for the vibe, it’s totally worth a visit. Just don’t come starving 😅 📍 Six Acres, Gastown, Vancouver 🎶 Brunch with a view & live music 📸 More honest finds & cozy recs on IG: @kitnessg.cg

Google
Six Acres - WOW! My partner and I visited early this afternoon for brunch, and the service was truly wonderful. We sat on the patio, facing the lively intersection of Powell, Alexander and Carrall Streets, and we really felt the community around us while we ate. The food was fantastic and the staff were sweet and did a great job hosting us. Their menu is something worth exploring. We will definitely be back. Thank you Six Acres team.

Google
Tucked into the heart of Gastown, Six Acres is a cozy little gem with a small but sunny patio that really shines in the afternoon. It’s the perfect spot to catch some sun, people-watch, and relax with a drink in hand. The staff here are super friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole vibe feel laid-back and comfortable. They’ve got a great selection of cool, refreshing drinks—perfect for a warm day or a casual hangout. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Six Acres is a great place to unwind and enjoy the Gastown atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Yelp
So our friends wanted to go for happy hour before heading to dinner in Gastown on a Friday night. We made resos at 5pm. Happy hour is 3-6pm. We were five and because the lower bar area was full, we were sat upstairs, all to ourselves. It was a great area, and I'm thinking a great place if you wanted to book a private party for 20-25 people. We all ordered the happy hour drinks, house wine, beer on tap, negroni and tequila shots. We also ordered the Parmesan fries with aioli and cod tacos. Everything tasted amazing and the service was wonderful. We would definitely come back for drinks and pre snacks before dinner. It was a fun vibe and great service.

Yelp
Great food! Mellow vibe, wonderful service in a great location We opened with a couple of craft cocktails and our entrees were excellent, split a desert and had a few more drinks. A great night at a great place, we'll be there again!

Yelp
We're absolutely obsessed with SixAcres! This place exceeded all our expectations. The great music, cool atmosphere, and outstanding staff made for an unforgettable experience. But the real showstopper was the Happy Hour special: fresh, local mussels steamed to perfection in a divine curry broth, served with a crusty baguette. It was LOVE AT FIRST BITE! We can't wait to go back and indulge in more of that deliciousness! Cozy, beautiful, and serving up incredible food - Six Acres has it all!

Yelp
This cozy, family-friendly restaurant located in the heart of Gastown is such a gem. They have brunch available every Saturday & Sunday from 10am - 1pm. It's so vibey in here and has the perfect view of the neighbourhood (any fellow people watchers here ? ) I heard they have a Sunday roast menu and do game nights here on their TVs as well! Will have to come back here to check those out next time.

Yelp
While going to Alaska on a cruise for our 43rd anniversary , we stayed in Vancouver Canada a couple extra days to check it out. We went down to a main area in Vancouver and found this pub. This place and the people are amazing. They were busy ! but they attended to everyone in the quickest and most efficient way , as you would not have known unless you paid attention. Their Happy Hour prices were reasonable and selection was great! Their specialty drinks were delicious too!! We did the boneless wings ( spicy & sweet) and of course we had to try the fries smothered in gravy. My husband enjoyed the wings so much we ordered a second batch:)

Yelp
Not same food or drinks as old Six Acres. This place is under new management. Mediocre offerings in a very competitive gastro environment.

Yelp
Came here to grab some lunch, it's located in a great spot in Gastown and near several shops and other restaurants. We ordered brisket poutine, scotch egg and balsamic mushrooms. The food here was very good and shareable across a few people. I would come back here again.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Great music. We were exposed to quite an enjoyable ambiance tonight.

Yelp
Not a recommended place for food or cocktail. We had mussels and fries. The mussels were tasteless but the fries were reasonable. The Mediterranean pizza was something that you get from a frozen aisle in a supermarket. The ingredients were cheaply scattered on it. The food was overpriced for this mediocre quality cuisine. The drinks were not much better, expensive with low quality. You will be ok if you go there but make sure you sit outside, position yourself to look at the lights and street, order fries, and beer. Maybe bottled beer just to make sure the quality is good! The server was very nice and pleasant. The location was nice as well, since Gastown has a charm if you sit outside.

Yelp
If you're looking for good vibes and great service in Vancouver, stop by Gastown and try Six Acres. We were visiting from out of town and searching for a place to accommodate a party of 6 on a Friday evening. We were promptly seated outside and had blankets provided to keep us warm. The food arrived quickly after placing our orders. I had ordered the Caesar salad with a side of chicken and sipped on a glass of wine. I had found the salad to be a tad on the salty side. Overall, a decent spot with phenomenal welcoming energy.

Yelp
Best brunch in the city! Scored a table on the sunny patio situated in Five Corners where we could partake in the delight of Gastown people watching. We were warmly welcomed by Goda and Victor upon arrival and had freshly brewed coffee in hand within a minute of being seated. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros (with perfectly poached eggs, guacamole, hearty stewed beans and pickled onions) and the Classic Benedict (with Two Rivers back bacon, caramelized onion jam, pickled mustard seeds and the lightest, most luscious Hollandaise I've ever tasted.) Both dishes were balanced and well seasoned, comprised of quality ingredients prepared with care. We left feeling satiated but not weighed down. Fantastic value for plates of housemade deliciousness in a heritage space with friendly, attentive hospitality. We were surprised to learn this Weekend Brunch menu was only recently launched so don't sleep on trying this (as of now) undiscovered brunch gem! We will definitely be returning to try the Foster's French Toast.

Yelp
Amazing service even when it was busy. Food was great had the Poutine absolutely perfect amount of cheese and gravy on some great tasting fries. The feel of the bar was, small bar, but high class. Little loud but that's to be expected, over all would make my way back.

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick bite before the ghost tour. They were out of many of the items on the menu but it was Victoria Day so they were quite busy. The servers were friendly and helpful. We only had a plate of fries as that was the only vegan gf item they had and a grapefruit iced tea that was very tasty. They did rush our order as we requested but I was disappointed in the lack of selection. I would give them another try when I am not rushed and they have more options.

Yelp
Great location right in Gastown. Nice patio to enjoy the weather too. I got a beer and the crab poutine which was one of the specials. It was really tasty! The fries were more like crisp potato wedges which I liked a lot. Service was a bit slow though, although the staff WAS friendly. No happy hour at this place either.

Rachel S.

Yelp
The best meal I've had in a long time. Can't remember what it was called but it was roast chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and greens. Reminded me of a home cooked meal and was literally amazing. If I lived in Vancouver I would be back all the time to get it. Drinks were great too!

Yelp
We decided to dine here after a long search in yelp for a good restaurant in Downtown Vancouver. I'm happy to say we weren't disappointed. The only downsides were that the place is super small and there's not a lot of seating and also the cokes tasted really weird, both diet and regular. It wasn't enough to ruin it for me though! It was 6pm on a Saturday night we arrived and it was packed! We were told we had to wait by they quickly brought out water for us while we waited for a table. It was about 20 minutes before we were brought upstairs to a cozy little candle lit table. It would be an excellent place for a date but we were there as a family this time around. They didn't have a kid's menu but suggested Mac and cheese for my daughter which she got and also a side of fries. I ordered the poutine and loved it! The waitress said it was a large dish but it wasn't compared to American standards so I could have easily eaten the whole thing. I also got the corn fritters which were to dye for!!! They were amazing, the sweet and spicy was so good. My husband had the wild boar gnocchi which was also good, a little bit b of a Smokey flavor. All in all, I loved the food we ordered and would for sure return.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place while shopping for some souvenirs and wanted to get some happy hour drinks. Luckily, they had happy hour on the weekends as well. We were seated outside with a beautiful scenery. We wanted to try everything on the happy hour menu, so we got the poutine fries, cheddar corn fritters, mac & cheese, pimms cup, and gorgonzola hot pot (not on hh menu). The poutine fries were amazing. The little bits of cheese curds were so good with the gravy. I really enjoyed the fries since they were still crispy. The cheddar corn fritters was alright...it tasted like corn bread which is also not my favorite. The mac and cheese were so good! I dont know what kind of cheese they used but it was very gooey and not very pungent. The pimms cup was awesome! It had pimms ginger ale and cucumber. I really enjoyed it! As for the gorgonzola hot pot, that was my favorite dish! It's basically a cheese fondue. The baguettes that it came with for dipping was toasted with butter and the cheese was very gooey. The dish was not overwhelming at all and it made us want even more. Overall, we were all very happy sharing these happy hour munchies. The service was great, and he was very attentive. I would definitely come back here if I was in the area.

Yelp
Wish I took a photo, the food was so good that no one waited for a photo. The service was amazing and the atmosphere is fun will definitely revisit.

Yelp
Yummy poutine, but the area around the restaurant was very uncomfortable and we had a very drunk and out of it man come very close to our table asking us questions while eating. Was a weird experience

Yelp
Six Acres is my all time favorite (favourite?) pub and the place where I learned to enjoy good beer. Try the Mac and cheese. Tell 'em smartwatermelon sent you.

Yelp
I LOVE SIX ACRES!!! Whenever I'm in the area their veggie sliders call my name; and Like a sirens call it's impossible not to listen. This time it just happened to be a Sunday morning that we were in the neighbourhood. Although the place looked empty we are so pleasantly surprised by : 1) they were open 2) THERES NOW A BRUNCH MENU :D It was so hard to decide what to eat!!! Everything on the new menu looked amazing. I can't believe I didn't know they did brunch. Such a Sunday morning game changer. We ended up deciding on steak salad for me and avocado toast for my friend. The food came surprisingly fast and it was so delicious!!! If the steak salad wasn't so satisfying, I would have had serious envy over my friends avo toast. The bread was loaded with veg and avo. (I hate when avo toast is practically bare especially when it's on a brunch menu and not as a side.)This was the ideal serving size. The steak salad was everything you need in a steak salad. The fried cauliflower really complimented the steak, while the truffle oil worked nicely with the balsamic and the greens. It seems so silly to completely flip over steak salad, but when it's done right. It is perfection. This was perfection!!! I didn't want to eat or drink anything after because the taste was still lingering in my mouth. IT WAS THAT GOOD!!! As if the charming atmosphere of Six acres in the afternoon wasn't inviting enough. The waitress Kim was so lovely. She was super friendly, patient and accommodating. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!!!!!

Yelp
Really miss nights out with my ladies and spreads like these! . Six Acres serves up some delicious small plates to share in an intimate, cozy space (which used to be my favorite secret gem, Cork & Fin Oyster Bar). The ambience here is electric but service is chill, and you feel transported to a super cool bubble of cocktails, laughter and fire energy! We bonded over garlic & parm popcorn, a cheese board and fries with aioli. . It can be hard for a bunch of working gals to coordinate schedules, but I'm SO glad we made this happen!

Yelp
This is the second time I've been here and im a little conflicted. Both times ive really liked the food, but service has been pretty terrible. The gorgonzola garlic hot pot is rich, warm, cheesy and filling. The sausages have a wonderful snap to them and the pickles are fantastic. However, it took over 10 minutes after we sat down for our server to even bring us water, foreshadowing how the rest of the night would go. I had the Schneiderweisse in a bottle which paired really well with nearly everything on the menu. After ordering, our food arrived promptly although our server was not responsive at all until after our dishes were cleaned and we had tried to wave him down a few times. The desserts sounded good on paper, but the servings were rather small, and the cheesecake didn't have a graham cracker crust, arguably the best part of a cheese cake (fight me). Its not exactly the place to go for a romantic date; small, dark, and a bit loud, its great for some fun with a small group of friends but not so much for just chatting. They have a fantastic beer and drinks selection, and their menu hosts a number of delicious comfort foods. Overall id give this place 4 stars for the food and drink selection, but I've gotta take one off for the service I've received there each time.

Yelp
Their website states they have happy hour from 1130am to 6pm but I would call in advance to confirm. It seems their website is not up-to-date. Nevertheless, the food and drinks were great, server was accommodating and loved the music that was playing in the background. The Poutine was delicious. Fries stayed crispy under all that delicious St. Ambrois stout gravy. Wish it had more cheese curds. I can never get enough. The Cheddar Corn Fritters with the chipotle crema was a nice touch. The Seared Bison Steak Salad was served with a 5 oz flank steak, a generous amount of fresh, crisp arugula, fried cauliflower, sliced radish and grape tomatoes. The salad was dressed in a truffle balsamic vinaigrette that just danced in my mouth. As someone who normally doesn't order salads, I was quite pleased with this dish. Good food, good drink selection. Cozy atmosphere in a bustling area.

Yelp
I always wanted to try Six Acres after reading all the positive reviews. We were seated immediately since it's not that busy on a Thursday. We ordered the short ribs, beef sliders, mac and cheese, and lamb meatballs. The short ribs arrived quickly but it was just warm. I mentioned nonchalantly to the sever that the dish was "warm" and IMMEDIATELY, she removed the dish and said it was on the house. I mean I DID NOT want any sort of compensation, all I wanted was to let her that the dish was not hot and maybe mention to kitchen about it. She didn't ask for any other suggestions but rather took our dish (with two pieces left and I would be more than happy to pay for this dish then getting it taken off from my bill). Anyway, the other two dishes were just average. Portions were small and service was not the greatest so most likely I wouldn't come back.

Yelp
Found this place completely by accident. Had reservations elsewhere and were just looking for a place to grab a drink ahead a couple hours before. Being in the touristy part of Vancouver we knew we'd have to settle for "meh" at best. After a couple hours of beer and drinks and popcorn (!) and fries (!!!), and AN AWESOME SOUNDTRACK, we decided to stay and explore the menu some more. Good choice. All seven of us enjoyed a wide swath of items including poutine, cheese and sausages plates, lamb meatballs, Mac and cheese, and of course, more beer. The staff was wonderful to us and a lovely time was had. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Chris R.

Yelp
I'm not sure how or why this new place could have retained the name "Six Acres." The Six Acres that existed up until the pandemic is gone; this place seemingly has nothing to do with the previous business, and is a mainstream place that serves ... Molson Canadian. Enough said. Sad. I'll miss Six Acres. I fear that we're going to get more generic joints in Gastown. Rents are high, yes -- but I would think clientele interested in the neighbourhood would prefer some character, not to mention a good selection of beer. I guess it's the craft breweries in, say, Mount Pleasant that are taking the torch. Sigh.

Yelp
Stopped by for a beer! It's a cute place to sit outside or has a nice breeze through the open window inside. The local tap beer was amazing! I had the tart wild ale with apricot - so good! My mom had the radler - also was very good! It was also priced pretty cheap. It was about $10 usd for the two beers. It's also near downtown Gastown so great location. Check it out if you're in the area looking for a drink!

Yelp
This used to be one of my favourite little spots in Vancouver. Such a quaint and cosy vibe. Since they have renovated they've catered to the masses with a sports projector screen, loud music, and an awkward layout. I miss the old Six Arces.

Yelp
I'm currently on a personal mission to find places that serve yummy cheese platters in Vancouver, which led me to my most recent trip to Six Acres. I love this place. It's right in the heart of Gastown, squished in between two larger restaurants. It's got a small patio with maybe 8-10 tables. Sit on the patio and you'll have one of the best people-watching experiences in Gastown. There is so much going on around this part of town, especially in the summertime, that it makes for great views and entertainment. My gal pal and I opted to sit inside this time around because the patio was full. All the windows and doors were open though, and we sat right next to the window, so it pretty much felt like we were outside. The inside of Six Acres is beautiful. If I had owned a cafe/restaurant, I'd want it to look just like this. Behind the hostess stand there are tables all along their floor-to-ceiling brick wall and a couple other tables in the middle. To the right of the hostess stand is a set of large wooden stairs which take you upstairs to the mezzanine area with more tables and the bathrooms. There are ivy, vines and plants hanging all around the restaurant, which is another extra element that adds to the ambiance. They all serve their menus using old story book covers, so each menu cover is different. We each got their Joie rose and shared the cheese platter, crab burgers and arugula salad. Most of their food are small plate options, which is awesome for sharing so that you can try everything. The cheese plate was awesome. I'm not 100% what the jam was... I think it was Apple jam... was delicious, and paired will with the crackers and Brie. The real winner for me were there crab burgers. They were the perfect size, filling and just so damn good. I'd 100% get them again on my next trip. The service was excellent. My gal pal and I were catching up and talking quite a bit, so it took us a while to order. Our server was super patient with us and made sure to keep topping up our wines. Points from me. The restaurant is small, so you end up sitting rather closely to other tables and can hear everything they're saying. This isn't an issue for me at all because it's a great way to start conversations with someone else. But I can see how this would be annoying for other people. I came for the cheese platters and stayed for the rose and crab cakes. I'll definitely be back for all three in the near future.

Yelp
I've always wanted to try Six Acres, but was never in the area or it didn't work out. Finally my friends and I were wandering around Gastown, we decided to stop in for some drinks. It was only 5:30PM so there were plenty of seats inside. The patio was unfortunately full as it's quite small. The drinks are a bargain especially the Whiskey, which was anywhere from 25-35% less than other places downtown. They have a good range of Whiskey on the menu, but they were out of the Tyrconnell and apparently it wasn't available when my friend tried to order it 2 weeks ago too. We ordered the poutine, which had red onions on top and instead of cheese curds, it was a softer type of cheese. The gravy was really good and even though the cheese wasn't curds, I still liked it.

Yelp
Great drinks and food! Came here for some appys and drinks. Great Pimms and on the happy hour menu. Ordered house fries yummmm!! Mini burgers crab and veggie, I loved the crab! And the mac and cheese. Overall food was great. Great atmosphere and service. We didn't really plan on coming for happy hour but glad we did, good prices too.

Yelp
Small restaurant, good table service, and average food. Nothing about the food was spectacular, but it was definitely good. We weren't too hungry so we split a few appetizers & 1 main dish between 2 people.\ Its located in a really cute town with lots of shopping though!

Yelp
Went here after work with some friends for happy hour and we were not disappointed! They have a good deal on draught beer as well as happy hour food. I tried the popcorn (only $3!) and was actually surprised at how great they made popcorn taste (parmesan, lemon, salt... delicious). My friends got the mini poutine and the cheesecake, which are also must tries in my opinion. Very friendly staff and a great location right in the hear of gas town. We sat out on the patio which was great for an after work beer and some casual people watching. One of their bathrooms didn't work, but no need to fret, I'm sure they will get that sorted out and there was another one there in the mean time anyways! Overall: a good time.

Yelp
My partner and I walk past this restaurant every day on our way to Smarty Pantz Escape Room and have always wanted to stop in and give it a try. Today we finally had our chance, and it did not disappoint! Right off the go we were welcomed by our charming young server Eli. He was passionate about his menu knowledge and confidently recommended a couple of his favourites for us to enjoy.. Thank you for an unforgettable evening Eli and don't worry your little secret is safe with us!

Yelp
Great spot. Was there on a busy Friday, the service was still really good. The food was tasty and the price was right. I'll definitely be heading back soon.

Yelp
Please stay safe and do not visit! We visited Six Acres after having read glowing reviews of the food online. We hoped that this would be our experience, but it was not to be. We never got to try the food due to safety issues. When we arrived, we were seated by a woman with her mask down and her septum piecing visible. We were initially seated downstairs, but found it too drafty so we asked if we could be seated upstairs. We were seated on the upstairs balcony overlooking the entrance. We could see the table we had previously been at was not sanitized before they seated someone else at it. My partner visited the restroom right after we were sat down. When my partner returned from the restroom she was visibly shaken. When in the bathroom she discovered that she had been standing in vomit from a previous visitor to the restroom. She immediately notified our server of the situation and realized that she had the vomit on her shoes and had tracked it through the dining area. A few moments later, our server returned to our table and attempted to get a drink order from us having done nothing to even ensure that others would not attempt to use the washroom. We questioned why she was trying to get a drink order rather than closing down the restroom the server became defensive and stated that she had known about the issue before we entered the restaurant and was going to do something about it soon. The server then went back downstairs, still having done nothing to close off the restroom. We were shocked and decided that this was not a safe place to eat dinner during a pandemic if this was their reaction to a potentially dangerous health situation. We went downstairs and attempted to speak to a manager, who turned out to be the same woman with her mask down rhat had seated us. Instead of taking our concerns seriously she became defensive and gave reasons why they had not closed down the bathroom to ensure the safety of those at the restaurant and saidbhowbshe just became aware of the bathroom and that we were being unreasonable. During this conversation, we noted that her mask was still down below her nose which we mentioned only to have her get angry at us, making us even more concerned about how seriously she takes guest safety. The next day, I attempted to reach the owner and passed along our experiences. As he was not available I left a message and laid out the situation to another manager who sounded concerned and promised to pass along the information to the owner. Today I received a call from the same manager who was on shift the night we were at the restaurant. She did not immediately state that she was the same person, and instead listened to the story again, then identified herself and proceeded to get defensive and turn the situation around on us as guests because we were not wearing masks and saying we are entitled and how we do not understand how hard it is to stay in business in the current climate. I would advise on avoiding this establishment until the management and staff begin to make the health of their guests a priority.

Yelp
We came in here for drinks Friday night. It was probably 30-45 min before closing time for them. We opted to sit outside. They have a cute lil patio. They have these little 2 person wooden tables, with a bench on one side and a stool on the other. There were 3 of us. When we sat down, we tried to push 2 of the lil wooden tables together, and have two people sitting on the bench, and then one on the stool. Host came over to us and told us we couldn't do that. He parted the tables and put a 2nd stool at the end of the table. Uhm, it's 30-45 min before closing and it's not busy. Why can't we sit at a 4 person table with 3 ppl? It was stupid, no one showed up to take the table next to us. We ordered two drinks and called it a night. Bad vibes from the host was a buzz kill. This place was nothing spectacular, but I didn't try the food. Maybe I'll give them another chance when I am in town next time. But as of right now, I am not the fondest of this spot.

Yelp
So sad to see this place change management and revamp their whole menu (and not for better!!). The great selection of Belgian beer has been replaced by sub par selection and their home cut Belgian fries look like ones you get at McDonalds. Another one bites the dust!!

Yelp
Got to be honest, i was not impressed with this place. It was a pretty typical pub with mediocre food. The people were nice, mostly. It is a small establishment and you would think they could be a little more attentive to the people there. We had the fries, crab burgers and short ribs. Not really impressed with the quality of food on each item. I guess the best thing was the fries. The burgers were a little dry and over cooked and the short ribs were barely anything to write home about. The beers were great so theres that. I would rate higher but the food just was not impressive at all.

Yelp
Tasty poutine (the gravy is vegetarian!) and tasty corn fritters. The service was a bit lacking though... they had one server covering 10 tables. We never got water and waited ten minutes to order a beer, it wasn't the server's fault, but management really needs to consider having someone else on the floor helping out, especially during happy hour... We honestly almost walked out, and I'm sure others have.

Yelp
I've been here several times over the past year, and strongly feel Six Acres is the pick of the bunch in all of the lounges around Gastown. Why? Six acres has a variety of seating ~ small patio, upstairs with view of Gastown, and in-the-action downstairs section ~ something for everyone. The retro style written menu is very cool, but the contents and menu are pure gold. Well rounded, yet unique offerings with nice presentation and portion sizes are better than most other nearby places. I've had (and loved) the poutine, pound of wings, beet salad, and their 'party tray' cheese and sausage board were awesome group pleasers. A nice, and unique addition ~ the cheese and sausage boards and so rare to find on any menu today. Their beer list is thoughtfully planned out, very unique, offering many *local* ales to compliment their menu for perfect pairing. Well done! I loved the Four Winds and Driftwood draft beer, and also the Left Field Little Dry Cider. Happy Hour here starts at 11:30 am thru to 6 pm! Everything about Six Acres is decidedly different and in its own category ~ which is a good thing. Personally, I have always received much faster, and more efficient service here ~trendy and hipster servers that are WAY more service- focused than most restaurant staff. It's always packed in here, prepare to wait for a table. Well worth it and it's always my first pick of Gastown places for a drink and bite.

Yelp
In the heart of the bustling Gaslight district, the patio out front is a great place to sit and people watch (also a great place to be approached by homeless people). It took forever for our beers to arrive (not the most complicated order), though their selection of local craft beers was nice (I particularly enjoyed the blood orange one). It was a fine place but there are so many other options on the block.

Yelp
Our first dinner in Vancouver was excellent! Friendly service, nice casual ambiance, and we liked every bite of what we ordered: Pilsner on tap, poutine, sliders, and a chicken salad with an excellent dressing, avocados, tomatoes, cucumber, feta. Definitely want to come back once more before we leave!

Yelp
I ventured over to Six Acres at lunch last week because its pictures had been haunting me and beckoned me to visit. The staff and location are great and I am a huge fan of the decor. The lunch and dinner menu are different so if there is something you look forward to having I suggest checking to make sure its served at the time of day you plan to visit. I had wanted to give a few things a try So it wasn't a huge setback but two items I was rather excited about are only served at dinner time. The owner or manager, I'm not sure, was sitting close by and offered to see if we could make one of the later items now for me but as I wanted to try a number of things I was grateful for the offer but happy to try something else. I ended up getting the Beef sliders with fries and my friend got the poutine. I Personally found the sliders a bit sweet and the chipotle sour cream I got for my fries to be very bland. My friend loved his poutine, so much so I did not get to try it. I will be back many more times to try some other items on the menu and will be sure to update my review when I do :) As for now, I reccomend giving this place a try!

Yelp
I was lookimg forward to trying this place out as I've heard good things from friends and see positive reviews in Yelp. I was sadly disappointed. Terrible service from our server. Seemed like she did not care at all, and had to repeat everything again and again for her. Food was so-so. Small portions for the price and we had to go somewhere else after because we were not full and did not want to continue ordering tiny portion food. We got the Mac and Cheese, Lamb Meatballs (which were not hot) and Barley Risotto. Will not be coming back.

Yelp
First time my friends and I tried poutine, and it was really good! A lot of the other food were great too! If you come with a few friends and don't mind sharing, everyone could order a different plate. That way, you get a mix of everything. I definitely recommend the crab mini sliders and the pound o wings! Don't get the steak appetizer though especially if you're used them usually Asian styled. This was the only plate my friends also disliked.

Yelp
Guys, what's with the bad reviews? We had an AMAZING time!! It's pouring rain outside on a Saturday night, they were full up and we didn't have reservations yet they still managed to find us a table. Service was awesome, Gio is great!! At no point did we feel ignored or made to wait longer than necessary. We had the poutine, veggie sliders, chicken and mash and bison steak. All 5 stars, the chicken and mash was perfect for a rainy day and HOT, so hot I burned my tongue on a potato....which is AWESOME! Hot food is what it's all about I hate receiving room temp dinner. Fantastic service and wonderful decor, it's loud here but who cares, please try it out!

Yelp
Maybe it was an off night but based on my experience, I'd say go somewhere else. The service was slow and inattentive...I think we were sore by the end of the night after craning our necks trying to find someone to help us with anything. It took forever just to get our first round of drinks and then another long wait to get someone to help us with our food order. Servers would congregate behind the bar and just hang out...on a busy Friday night! Based on previous reviews, I hoped the food would make up for it but I was sadly mistaken. Everything we ordered was subpar and poorly executed. I had just come off a highly restrictive diet and eager to indulge a little, but I wish I could take it all back. Definitely not worth the calories.
