Great park for walking and enjoying the view of the river and the city, also a place for good fishing👍

A nice park in the heart of the grand rapids downtown. Good for a relaxing afternoon, walking or just sitting by the Grand river. I saw many people finishing and some caught catfish near the dam.

This a nice park along the river. Shady with picnic tables in nice locations. It’s a good place to walk or to walk your dog. I think restrooms are available but I didn’t see or use on this visit. On this visit, one or two persons had encamped in a small pavilion near the river in what looked like a long term residence with belonging spread out everywhere and just sleeping around the tables — a definite damper on family use in that area. But it’s mostly a wholesome place to be.

Went to 6th Street Park to check out the world of winter but also realize it's a pretty neat little space, Love all the artwork all over and there are so many nice shops close by that you could walk to on a nice little day out to the city! Really enjoyed the installations they had up this year.

This park meets the Canal Park at the south end, separated by the Sixth Street Bridge. There's a gazebo and picnic tables scattered around. Nice flowers near the gazebo. There are some outdoor exercise equipment both at this park and Canal Park. Starting from this park, you can head all the way to the north of the Canal Park for a nice walk/bike along a paved trail. Finally, there's a lookout at the south end that often has a few people fishing and some in the river. Edit: Added pictures June 2023.

Beautiful park right on the river. Plenty of parking and a nice clean path to stroll along the riverfront. Bonus to go to one of the free yoga events during the summer.

Night time i would be careful but during the day it’s a very beautiful, calm, clean park with great spots to picnic, fish, or walk the dog! Definitely worth checking out 😊

This park is beautiful, with amazing views of the river and city. I love that they have exercise stations now. I often start my day exercising along the river. There is also a nice little playground for younger children also.

Yelp
The Sixth Street bridge is one of the more noticeable places in this neighborhood. Did you know that it is the longest and the oldest metal bridge in Michigan? So cool! I mean, our city is just the coolest, always. ⁣ ⁣ And if you're looking for a pretty walk along the river, you can stop by Canal Park at 905 Monroe, and follow the walking path right past the bridge. We love fun little GR adventures!
