This is a picturesque town, and this is one of the few bistros around. We came during lunch hour, at first we want to try their other dishes but and only burgers were available. Both the classic cheeseburger and vegan burger were delicious!

Even though being a quite simple place, the food was amazing! The bread is delicious and for lunch we had a codfish and a mashed potato - tasty and creamy.

Delicious. Refined. Beautiful gaff! Best cookery in Iceland. We came at the end of the season so it was quite quiet while we were in, the menu was stripped back - but we wouldn’t have it any other way. The service was exceptional. Much takk from Glasgow x

A lovely restaurant with very friendly and welcoming service. The plating was excellent, the dishes very tasty and the portions filling. I only took pictures of the cod and the burgers, but we also enjoyed the lobster bisque and dessert; tiramisu, lemon tart and ice cream...all of which I can highly recommend!

Great lunch of pork with an excellent sauce. Plus Brocolli soup. If stopping over even on a cruise don't miss lunch here. You won't be disappointed.

Skaftfell bistro is a cozy and inviting restaurant and one of the only ones open at night. The food came out very quick and was beautifully presented. All the items on the menu were local - the fish was caught in the nearby river and the chefs friend hunted the bird. Everything was delicious! The smoked haddock was extremely salty, but with the bread it was good. The guillemot was very well prepared and rare. The lobster bisque (not pictured) and beef tartare are probably some of the best food we’ve had on Iceland. This restaurant is nestled between large snowy mountains as a backdrop and I would love to go again.

Food was delicious. We had langoustine bisque and skyr mousse with cabbage. Portions are smaller but it is definetely worth the taste. Here is current menu :)
