Stunning harbor views at this seafood gem! Fresh, delicious fish dishes, cozy sand-floor vibe, and friendly staff. Authentic Skagen flavors shine. A must for seafood lovers! Highly recommend.

We had lunch here, the food was tasty but the service was extremely slow. We had the starters and waited almost an hour until our main courses came. We had to ask several times for our beverages because the waiters were uninterested in asking if we were missing anything.

Nice place, Nice food and Nice people even if it's a bit expensive but it was 15th of August in border to the sea so.... Still a good experience :)

We had a lunch at Skagen Fiskerestaurant. The food was good, but nothing particularly special to match the high price we paid. The staff wasn’t very friendly, which didn’t help the overall experience. The location is nice, but we left with a bit of a bad feeling given how expensive it was for what they offered.

Great place with a tasty food. Fresh seafood and high quality products. Good location, near port.

Excellent food and wine selection. I recommend the Fish and Chips Skagen style and the Moulles Frittes. The desert was also good, but nothing out of the extraordinary. The prices are good, I would say on the medium to expensive range, but worth it. One last thing I recommend is making a reservation since it can be full.

Visited on June 8, 2025. We ordered mussels and ½ lobster. The dish arrived quickly, but the lobster was not what we expected. There was confusion with the order despite showing it clearly on the menu. First, we received langoustines by mistake. After a second clarification, we waited quite a while and were served what looked more like ¼ of a lobster, cold and without a tail. Also, one of the mussels tasted off. Not the experience we hoped for, especially at this price.

The food arrived very quickly and was amazing, but the staff is terrible and very slow. The owner, in responses to other complaints here, defends their employees—which is notable—but they are not that busy. There are plenty of staff members, and half of them are either chatting with each other inside the restaurant or while walking by, deliberately avoiding eye contact

Yelp
4.5! The food was delicious and the portions vs. the price was very good. We're from NYC, and really don't find the prices in Denmark expensive per se. The seafood here is very fresh, seasoned well and presented beautifully to make sure you eat with your eyes first! They brought the outside in and the inside out at this waterfront restaurant, the floors inside are covered in sand to make it feel like you are just stepping inside a food/bar hut right on the beach. The deck seating area is very big, covered from the elements and also has portable electric heaters as well as fleece blankets are available at every table top to keep you warm as you enjoy the view and food. Will definitely be back when visiting the beaches of Skagen!

Yelp
Fantastic Fresh Seafood in Skagen, Denmark. Everything was fantastic. We made a mistake of ordering both the Shellfish Platter and Moules Frites, because the same mussels were already included in the Shellfish Platter. The Shellfish Platter was plenty, so ordering for 1 person instead of 2 would be better. Fresh oysters, sweet small prawns, & tasty crab meat. They do charge house water for Kr. 40,-, which I didn't know about the charge until I see the bill. Indoor & outdoor seating available. Indoor floor is filled with sand for a beach vibe. Reservations available on their website online.

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed our dinner here. Service was excellent and the food very good. Great value too. We are guests in the nearby Skagen Harbour Hotel, and as such, we receive a 15% discount, on their already reasonable prices!! What a deal!!! Upon being seated we were hosted to a glass of champagne. We shared the lobster croquettes for our starter, and at only 75 DKK, this was outstanding value. These were more like fish/lobster cakes, but still very tasty. For our mains, we ordered the house specially, pan fried plaice (flounder). This was delicious with the berry sauce. It's served whole, and very easy to debone (filet). My wife's mixed seafood plate was overwhelming. Another couple glasses of wine, and a schnapps to end the meal, and we walked home most content and happy!!!

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch in April. The herring sandwich was amazing, super fresh. I had the fish meatballs, which were fine but there were probably better options. All in all it was an enjoyable time.

Yelp
You know those restaurants who just have no interest in serving good food just because they have have the best location? Well, here's one for you... As it was the 1 year celebration of me and my boyfriend being together and we wanted to treat ourselves (and some friends tagged along) with seafood and champagne and booked a table here. Skagens fishrestaurant, located next to the harbour, live music and a seafood plateau that wowed us at first sight, what could possibly go wrong? We wanted bubbely but since the waitress had no idea what prosecco or cava was and we went for the champagne and the seafood plateau. The plateau looked amazing. Lots of shrimps, 3 crayfishes/p, crab claws and 2 oysters each, cooked blue mussels and different sauces (aioli, pesto..) The oysters were japanese giant oysters and not the regular ones (the european) which was a H-U-G-E dissappointment for us oysterlovers!! They should have definately wrote that on the menu card! The shrimps were really good as were the crab claws and the blue mussels in a supergood basil sauce. The crayfishes had either been cooked too long or cooked and laid in the fridge too long..the tails had the texture as cottpn buds and I called in the waiter. She explained to me that this was the texture of the crayfishes this time of the year, but boy did she try and trick the wrong person as I have been working as a Marine Biologist on crayfishes ;) I explained to her to either to give us new ones or take out the price down on our bill. She got us 16 new ones-75% were of the same quality. With that location of a restaurant its a shame they can't do better.

Yelp
We had a nice lunch at Skagen Fiskerestaurant on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Most places were closed so we were a little wary of the only place open but it turned out just fine. The bread in Denmark in general is so tasty and this place was no exception. Everyone was satisfied with their meal and nice draft beers. The only negative was the cost which seemed high even by Danish standards. All in all a fine lunch. Pretty aight if you ask me.

Yelp
EDIT: So unfortunately I have had to change my glowing 5 star recommendation to a horrible 1 star review, and here is why. I spent the better half of the night on the toilet throwing up and shitting myself into what fealt like an early grave... sorry for the vile language, but fuck this place! Do NOT eat here... I got the worst food poisoning of my life and it ruined the last day of our vacation. Not to mention making the 6 hour drive home unbearable. Original review: "Best seafood I have had in a long time. My girlfriend and I visited the place a late Sunday night. We had booked a table in advance as it is very frequented. At first I was not a fan. There was sand on the floor, and seeing as we had been venturing around beaches and dessert-like venues all day, it's fair to say that I was tired of sand. The furniture were not impressive either. The waiter also seemed confused about our booking. Anyway, we were seated. And then something happened. The annoying sand suddenly became comfortable. The not so nice furniture suddenly became charming and created a rather pleasant atmosphere. The waiters were relaxed, polite and well informed. I ordered the pan fried plaice with shrimps while my girlfriend ordered the moules frites. And the food was very good. The plaice was served with a bread basket consisting of what seemed to be freshly baked bread. Everything was made from ground, and very well made I might add. The fish and the clams were cooked to perfection and the size of the portions were fitting. For dessert we respectively had a rhubarb triffili with vanilla cream and a chocolate brownie with ice cream and chocolate mousse. The texture of the brownie was hard on the outside whilst soft inside. Everything was loaded with flavour and I would say the place is definitely worth a visit. Regarding prices. It is a bit pricy due to the location but all over I would say it is well worth the money."
