"Picturesque mountain views are par for the course with ski-in/ski-out ski resorts, and in this regard Skarsnuten Hotel passes the test with spades. Norway’s second-largest ski resort, Hemsedal’s meticulously groomed trails take you through forests and valleys and ultimately drop you at Skarsnuten Spa, where the facilities alone—ice bath, sauna, foot bath, hot tub—may be enough to replenish you after a day covering the Norwegian terrain. But if you’ve made it this far to partake in the adrenaline-inducing vertical sport, you really ought to go for the Mountain Foot Treatment: feet are soaked in a magnesium-enriched tub, scrubbed and massaged, bringing circulation back to barking dogs. Head and hands aren’t left in the cold either, since a tingling scalp and hand massage are a part of the 45-minute service."

Another nice summer-stay at Skarsnuten. Great food, spa and hiking. I had been a bit quick in my booking, so we had been assigned a room with only moderate views. Andrea at the front desk was able to change this to another with exceptional views during check in. She was also very helpful when we had some special requests due to an anniversary. We will be back.

We stayed at the hotel in June for one night on our drive from Oslo to Bergen. It was comfortable and enjoyable. The staff was friendly and helpful and the pizza in the restaurant a plus. Breakfast also was good, though not outstanding. Regretfully, it was raining, with a few snowflakes, when we arrived so we did not walk around the area, which looked worthwhile.||There is a private toll road right before the hotel. The front desk can give you a code to text to a number so you don’t have to pay. You do have to pay, via an app, if you park at the hotel, but it is only a bit over USD 7 (not sure if this is a daily fee). There is apparently parking for free about 250 meters from the hotel, but we did not check out the area and verify this.||There was a wedding party when we were there, but it did not disturb us at all (maybe luck of the room draw). Even with that distraction, the staff was attentive.||Overall a very nice stay and we would come back.

Great ski-in, ski-out hotel. Chairlift goes right to the hotel and there’s a fun blue slope that takes you down to the rest of the slopes. Hotel has its own lockers, though we found it easy enough to keep our skis in the car as we parked on the surface lot. Wonderful spa/sauna. Stunning views from the restaurant and a great breakfast buffet. Beds and rooms were comfortable.

It was a beautiful stay - lovely views, delicious breakfast. The staff was pleasant although not always particularly warm. The room was fairly clean (definitely could have used some vacuuming). It was small, but really esthetically well put together and there was a lovely view. The road up to the hotel is a bit dangerous if you don't have a high-sitting vehicle - you have to go very slowly and carefully to avoid the potholes and channels. Our only real complaint was that one night, a wedding reception was going on near our room and loud music (which we could hear quite well) went on until 2 or 3 am. My wife couldn't sleep, and it made for a very worn out day the next day.

The breakfast is fine. I was just annoyed at the receptionist for not being of any service when i arrived with multiple suitcases and sets of skis. Rather than getting me the assistance I asked for, she pointed me in the direction of a trolly and thought I should load and stroll it all by myself which I just think is beyond ridiculous for a five star hotel. ||Tips til Hotellet: Next time a guest asks for help with their baggage, you get the trolly yourself (staff), you load it with whatever needs to be transported, and finally, you do indeed transport it to the guest’s room. That’s 5 star service. ||Little things like this makes five stars impossible to give.

Ida Marie gives a great service!!! :)|She is very nice and make you feel at home. Great service and fantastic person. We loved her persona and her way of conducting her service. All in all it was perfect! She should be rewarded for her job and be put in charge of the whole hotel!!!! :)

We had a delightful dining experience at the Lynx restaurant. The beef we ordered was of exceptional quality and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was fantastic, and they offered a wonderful selection of wines. The service provided by Zuzanna was outstanding—polite, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout our meal.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Skasnuten Hotel during a 5 night stay in Hemsedal. Would highly recommend it for people wanting to visit the ski area. Great food, delightful spa. Easy access to the slopes and in-house ski hire.
