S’Kastanie - Das Restaurant im historischen Schützenhaus - Heidelberg

We were recommended this restaurant by a woman who owned a little snack stand near Heidelberg Castle. What a great recommendation. Food was solid, reasonably priced, and the staff was very accommodating. The view and the scenery is incredible. You are on a mountain in the forest and if you eat outside it's even better!

Wonderful! Beautiful food, lovely staff! Away from tourist hussle and bussle just above the castle and beside the forest. We went there in a snowy night and it was lovely. A bit cold inside though, it has outside sitting so it be very nice in the summer! Highly recommended

Authentic German experience in a lovely place away from all the tourists

A great place to eat. Not cheap but then very good food rarely is. We asked if we could stay in the carpark and were told no problem if we stayed to one side. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Hidden "deep" in the forest was an excellent dinner!

This is a small restaurant up the hill from Heidelberg Castle, which has amazing food. We went there for lunch special, and it was bout 30eu for three people with drinks. They had a vegetable bisque that was amazing. If you are going to be in the area, I highly recommend trying it.
