Skate Escape

We enjoyed this small, but fun, loud, friendly skate rink. The skate rentals were clean, in good shape, quick. Fees are reasonable, 12 to skate, 3 to rent skates. Bottled water $1. Staff was super helpful and friendly. We rented the helpful rolling bars for $5 for the little one who had never skated. She practiced on the padded walkway around the outside first, and caught on. The three middle kids had lots of experience on online, so quickly adapted to 4 wheels. The oldest was a little wobbly, but the 3 sides with rail to hold on to helped. There were no tall rolling bars left, but a kind young man overheard and offered to trade a smaller one for his taller bars. The rolling bars helped to get them circling confidently. Dad enjoyed skating too. Plenty of tables, seating around perimeter for non-skaters. This was a great rainy day activity.

Amazing place! Good atmosphere, helpful and kind staff members, very affordable prices. Good for kids birthday parties. Recommend!

We had so much fun here! My 3 sons and I skated from 4-6 pm, good music, good energy, lots of kids and just super fun! Great workout! Thank you Angela for being the best DJ and having just sweet and wholesome vibes! We will be back soon!

I had my daughter’s 9th birthday party Skate Escape in San Rafael. We absolutely loved the intimate, private party vibe. The location is in a quiet mall and is smaller than most roller rinks. At first, I wasn’t thrilled about the size, but I quickly grew to love that it was more kid-friendly and perfect for beginner skaters. Connor was amazing—he took care of all our party needs and concerns, making sure everything went smoothly. I would definitely recommend this place for a fun, family-friendly experience!

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! My first time skating and I was doing horrible until the guy (forgot to ask for his name!) gave me some tips and afterwards I was doing a lot better! Today on my 1st visit and about 30 minutes of skating, I was able to skate around without having to hold anything! I was able to go straight now! From level 1 to maybe level 5 in just 30 minutes! I was definitely getting better and smoother when listening to the music being played. I noticed I was flowing the smoothest when the Neyo songs were playing. Haha! Definitely coming back!

We had an amazing time at the indoor roller skating rink! My daughter absolutely loved it and couldn’t stop smiling the entire time. The facility was clean, safe, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The owner even took the time to give my daughter some lessons, which made her feel extra special and boosted her confidence on the rink. The music added to the fun atmosphere, and the skates were comfortable and in great condition. We’ll definitely be back – it was a perfect way to spend the day!

good place with high quality rentals was a bit empty midday but my teen daughter enjoyed it

We went to the kinderskate and it was great. We brought two children, ages 5 & 7. It has a very good atmosphere and both children wanted to return. They have skates to rent which are comfortable and skate guides for beginners who do not know how to skate. Also, the person working there was super friendly and very helpful in getting us set-up.

Well I knew it was in a mall but thought it would be bigger. We came on a Sunday after flag football practice. Although it was a drive it was worth it. Angela helped us and was friendly throughout the interaction. I knocked a star since they ran out of helpers and my 13 needed a taller one and noticed kids shorter than her had them, so the whole time she was hunch over trying to skate.

The owner is the nicest. Great place for kids to learn how to roller skate. Only downside is that it is not a wood waxed floor so harder when you fall and it is not a full size rink, but it is the most economical. They run day camps as well with the gymnastics business as well. Go so they can stay in business!

We decided last minute on a Saturday that we wanted to go roller skating and I stumbled across this place as the nearest indoor roller rink. This rink is located inside the Northgate mall and it's renovated to fit inside an old PacSun store location. The mall was very empty for a Saturday afternoon which makes sense since there are very few shops still there. I was actually pleasantly surprised how cute this roller rink was and although there was a kids party happening when we arrived there was so much room to skate comfortably. The guy working the front was extremely welcoming when we arrived and mentioned that there's was a $3 discount per person since we had our own skates. They have chalk where you can draw and my girls enjoyed that. They sell water and snacks for purchase but no restroom. The mall restrooms are nearby so that wasn't an issue for us. Overall, I can't wait to go back! Love this place! I wish there were more like this closer to where we live.

My friends and I had such a great experience and will definitely be back! It's so nice to have a place to skate right in our own backyard. The owner was very kind and attentive to our group and even helped us master new skills, from my friend who was a first-time skater, to some of us who had more experience. Can't wait to go back!

Love this place!!! Connor and staff are so sweet. Its really nice to have this in our community, especially for hot summer days or rainy afternoons. Dreary old Northgate is finally starting to change with awesome stuff like this...Yay for our community!

Meet the owner. Really nice friendly helpful guy. Was very good with the kids and guests helping some. Of the kids skate rather than sit around. We didn't know about the skate place till on of my daughters friends had a birthday party here. Good price for all day skate and you can bring your own. They have a parent under six skate time that is a good way of getting g your kids going. Would come again for sure.

We just had a birthday party at skate escape and everyone who came had a great time! The host Connor was assisting the kids how to skate as well as checking on anyone who needed help! We had a great time and will have our next birthday parties there as well as skate as a regular family outing! I highly reccomend!

My daughter and her friends had a great time at Skate Escape. Even if you only go for an hour, it is a great afternoon activity to get their jollies out. Connor, who was at the front desk, could not have been nicer. Truly enjoys what he does. We will go back!

They're back to roller skates! We've lived in Terra Linda for decades, and we've been to northgate more times to roller skate here than we've been for any other reason in the last 10 years, combined. Recommended!
