Why You Should Visit Germany’s Ore Mountains - AFAR

"Housed in the Zwinger, this collection is the world’s largest treasury of Meissen and other European ceramics and showcases the region’s breakthrough in Western porcelain production using kaolin clay from the Ore Mountains; it presents the artistry and historical importance of “white gold” through an extensive display of exemplary pieces." - AFAR

Extremely impressive porcelain collection of Chinese, Japanese and German (Meissen) origin of Augustus the Strong. The oldest piece is more than 900 years old! I consider it a must-see as this not easily available anywhere else. (Rated & graded as a museum)

I never imagined I would enjoy a porcelain museum this much. The collection is vast, with so much to see and admire. The porcelain pieces are truly stunning. I believe this is a must-see when visiting Dresden.

If you visit only one musuem in Dresden, make it this one. Their porcelain collection is absolutely mind blowing and you will never see such intricate pieces of art anywhere ever - many of the pieces are originals from Meisen, the famed porcelain maker from the region. It's quite compact and well laid out, so it won't take you more than 1 hour to visit.

This gallery lives up to its reputation as one of the largest porcelain collections of the world. The thematic presentation and well curated spaces make it an interesting visit. I found it less crowded than the Gemäldegalerie.

Beautiful museum, very sophisticated. Close to the ticket area there is a balcony with a view on Zwinger. The porcelain collection is impressive, but the museum is relatively small, so you won’t spend that much time there.

I paid 14 euros for the entrance. Included old masterpieces part, maths and physics part. The collection is amazingly huge. You can see here gorgeous German porcelains.

🔈If you are a fun of sculpting or a fun of vases or of porcelain in general then this is your next getaway trip ! ‼️Mesmerizing sculptures and vases from all over the world and going back in time even at 1730!!! 🔝By far an exceptional collection. I loved the details on every single thing ! I wanted to take a picture of a every single one piece in there !! Would totally visit again for a second look . ✔️Amazing experience and totally worth the ticket ! A pro tip for the ticket : 👉🏻 Make sure you buy a combinational ticket if all museums in zwinger ! It’s only 14€ and 10.5€ if you’re a student of any country !!

Very beautiful and important museum with one of the largest European 18th century Chinese and Japanese porcelain pieces. It's a feast for the eyes, however I didn't like that a lot of light from the outside tends to hit the pieces near the city windows making many hard to enjoy and take pics of. It's a bit confusing that you have to leave your bag on the top floor but I guess there was no other solution to that. Overall it's enjoyable, some of the pieces are breathtakingly beautiful.
